Booked for an afternoon tea. Upon entering the tearoom I was a little disappointed by the pervasive smell of fried food. The food itself was disappointing both in it quality, and presentation. I ordered an early grey and was charged extra as this was not included. I asked for some extra hot water and when I paid the bill I found I had been charged for 2 earl greys. Water in Lutterworth is obviously at a premium. I didn't challenge the bill as we were celebrating a birthday.

Been here for breakfast the last three times we’ve stayed in Lutterworth & they never disappoint. Great food, nice staff, quirky decor. Everything I look for in a cafe.

We had booked Afternoon Tea for 4 people at 2.30. We arrived at 2.20 and sat down at our table, which had my name on the reservation. We sat there and sat there and sat there, whilst very young members of staff walked past us with orders or were clearing tables, but completely ignored us - not even an acknowledgement that we had arrived. After 1/2 hour I got up to go to order at the counter and was told that someone would come over to the table shortly. 5 minutes later, our orders were taken and drinks finally arrived. The Afternoon Tea arrived after a further 25 minutes. Halfway through eating, we asked another junior member of staff if we could have more tea and another cold drink. We reminded an even more junior member of staff 15 minutes later (who just replied "that's fine"). The additional drinks didn't arrive, and we had finished our Afternoon Tea by this time! I stopped another young girl and asked her to cancel the drinks - she knew nothing about the order! Food was reasonable (if not a little OTT) but service was appalling. Wouldn't go back. Disappointing really, as it was a Christmas voucher and we wanted to support local businesses. Processing the voucher also involved all junior members of staff not knowing what to do with it, and the chef himself was called out to redeem the voucher (which was really just taking it off me!) In my opinion, the cafe needs someone older front facing who can actually welcome in customers and make them feel as though their business is important to the cafe.

Stopped for breakfast when staying in the local travel lodge. Lovely staff, great food and nice to see sausages from the local butcher. Great food presentation. The decor is all very cute but there is a lot of it. Makes it difficult to really see any theme or any nice piece.

ive been to E&R before and the food was very nice, this time me and one of my friends went for tea and cake the tearoom looks very welcoming and on arrival i went up the counter and was looking at the cakes. The young man behind the counter was friendly and chatty as i oggled over all the lovely cakes and treats! the young lady who took our order was friendly and helpful too (all a very young team we noticed) our drinks and cakes were lovely! we were both sad when we've finished our cakes off! I had a slice of the Red Velvet and my friend had the Lemon and Blueberry. The only negative thing we noticed was how sticky the menus were, we had to peel them off the table cloth to be able to read them!! Also the plastic table cloth on the table was very sticky and still had some traces of jam on it from a previous sitting. we saw a gentlemen cleaning the table next to us, using a cleaning spray but the cloth he was using looked very dirty. So overall, great drinks and cakes but we think they need to improve their cleaning. the menus getting a proper wipe down and clean so they're not sticky and also to make them hygienically clean. Also the tables being wiped down properly so they're not sticky either. We'll be back again im sure to E&R as the food is great and the staff all friendly and helpful. They just need up their cleaning standards with the tables etc.

Lovely lunch. Great value for money. Lovely individual setting. We nipped off the M6 and spotted the cafe as we drove through and it was well worth the visit. Need to go back to try out the afternoon tea which looked delicious

Great place to take kids to. Lovely ice cream and well worth the price. Especially the large tubs to take home for the freezer!

I remember when it was run by Kevin Piggit And Dave Dove RIP. I was 15 and used to bottle up every Sunday. Awesome memories and the Cadoo Crew lived over the road. I remember when I had my first “Blow Job” there … it tasted horrible!! Its construction is 3 buildings in to one over the years. Spoiler alert the oldest side building used to be a work house for children and one night it set on fire and 3 children and a female worker died. Scouse James and the boogie bus to the Broadway Nightclub and be standing on the step then off the step with my best pal Tim King(RIP) and the Haynes Twins, Jan, and Big Dave ( RIP) but not forgetting Pete Flowers probably the funniest person DJing and swearing on the microphone. In the background we would be screaming HAMMER HAMMER HAMMER ( as in Mc Hammer) Big G started it off !

They let us park our camper overnight on the basis that we use the pub, which we did! The food was lovely and the staff were friendly! 😊

Our coffee tasted watered down. The stars I have given are basically for how beautiful the place is. But it’s not ran well. It’s a shame as we’ve been coming for years as a family. We had a latte and a cappuccino. The latte had a very watery texture. I’m used to lattes with skimmed milk, this wasn’t that. It tasted watered down and lacking in flavour. The cappuccino didn’t have the texture of a cappuccino, more like water. The froth seemed to just disintegrate and the whole texture was thin and tasteless. We didn’t bother to complain because the staff were so busy, we simply couldn’t be bothered especially after having queued for so long. We’ve complained on a previous disappointing visit and haven’t found them to be receptive (the Google review replies indicate they haven’t changed, so what’s the point?) Won’t be coming back in a rush. Why on earth they have 1 member of staff serving when the queue is huge, I have no idea. Theres a clear lack of urgency to get the queue down. Overall another poor experience, such as shame as the place itself is wonderful.
