We were after a hot drink and something quick to eat on a stop in Glossop and I was certain we could find somewhere that wasn't the chain coffee shop when I saw this place. Really cute inside, lovely welcome, and lovely food. There are tons of veggie and vegan options. We just had breakfast but it was so nice! I'll be back!

Thought we'd try here as hoped it'd improved in past 3 years given we had the big pram and would be a squeeze in our usual next door. Very disappointed and expensive for what it was. Whilst the food didn't taste bad, it was pretty basic. When I asked what the Mike's special hash was I was told its hash with a pair of shrugged shoulders and a If I was crazy look. So obviously no sale there for that. Total of over £40 for 2 adults and a 3 year old. Partners and 3 year olds sandwich was mostly water cheap ham. Rice bowl was pretty basic, tinned corn, pre packaged slaw, etc felt like the fiid was missing chef input tbh for what they charge. Will definitely avoid and stick to better places in glossop.

Came in for a brunch around 11.30 Cafe was fresh and clean and looked appealing. My wife who is gluten free ordered Avocado Poached Egg and Mushrooms on toast and I went for Crumpets with fried eggs and bacon. Coffee and tea arrived were nice and then the food. My wife dish looked excellent with a perfectly cooked egg and vivid Avocado. This looked like we were heading for a 5 star meal until I looked at my dish. The bacon looked like it had been refried having the appearance of a dirty leather sole. It was very salty and the eggs were solid as though they had been cooked a while ago. I probably should have sent it back but the car was on a meter plus the chef knew exactly what was being sent out. Maybe the last laugh was on me for not sending it back as the words toilet and eye of a needle come to mind It is a shame as it could have been so good

We’d just had a doctor’s appointment and were looking for some late lunch at around 3pm on a weekday (Thursday). The staff were not actively unpleasant, but they surely were not friendly either- the level of service and welcome is much less than the other coffee shops in Glossop. We had the potato hash, which was very, very fatty - the hash is made of mince and usually ok, but this was very meat-heavy with very few veg, and it tasted overwhelmingly of liquid fat in the gravy. Having enjoyed it before, several times, this was diabolical - we’ll not be back. Especially as the food hygiene score has now fallen (currently a ‘4’). The service now became quite surly. By 4pm the staff lined up, clearly ready to go home. When asked, very nicely ‘are we keeping you from going home?’, they actually just said ‘yes’. No smile, no mitigation, no explanation, just ‘yes’. We drank our tea, paid, and left. There once was no competition in Glossop. Now there’s a lot, and that competition is friendlier, more welcoming, and- to be honest - seems cleaner also. And their food is now better also. We shan’t be back. This cafe does not deserve our business. I work really hard for that money and it can be better spent elsewhere.

Me and my family popped in this place for a bite to eat. It was busy and the staff made space for us which was lovely straight away. The interior was very nice and cute. I ordered the chicken and stuffing baguette which was beautiful! All the food looked great and considering how busy they were, we didn’t have to wait very long. Not sure if it was the owners but they were great with the customers and very attentive. Other staff were great too. I would recommend going here and prices weren’t too bad either. For the quality of the food it was spot on. Thank you guys and see you again soon!

Everything about my experience at this coffee shop was perfect from the welcome at the door and being served within seconds to the cosy interior. The staff were very patient with me as im so indecisive, even helping me decide what to have to eat. In the end I ordered a recommended special: Sausage, bacon, halumi and chilli jam sandwich that tasted amazing!! I'll definitely be going back again and would highly recommend to anyone in the Glossop area.

We sat in here after coming into the area for a shopping trip. Ordered a tea and coffee which came within minutes. And ordered food. After an hour waiting and was almost ready to go. They said it was coming. Shop not busy. It was a breakfast and a toasties. I could have cooked it myself from scratch in less than 10 mins. This left us with no time to go around the other shops.. as for price. Wow never spent so much on 2 snacks. Position and quality. Well very poor and the breakfast was cold. Shame as it looks nice from outside, but looks like they are on a get rich quick period. Stay clear and shop around.

Not forgetting a perfectly made latte made with "Cow's Milk"! 🐄 Absolutely lovely coffee lounge. Great food and lovely staff. Didn't catch her name,... Girl with blonde hair and green jumper who served was warm and friendly which goes a long way in making customer's feel valued and happy. Evident too when bumped in to her in Superdrug shortly afterwards! Highly recommended coffee lounge with a great choice of food and drink. Will be visiting again on next visit to Glossop.

Staff and chef were lovely, couldn't have done more to help, very attentive. Place is spacious inside with a nice atmosphere. But sadly the food is very simple and overpriced for what it is. The salad bowl, whilst done terrifically and presented well was a small portion of cold rice with 4 small portions of cheap salad items, a bit of coldslaw and a small portion of some very thinly sliced halloumi on top. For £9 that's pretty expensive

I bought a bacon and tomato sandwich this morning and was charged the astronomical figure of £4.90. This is the most expensive bacon and tomato sandwich I have ever bought. When I questioned the price I was told it was big sandwich on a bloomer, so I expected a large sandwich. On the contrary, it was just a normal sized sandwich, with tasteless bacon and cooked fresh tomato that had made one of the slice's of bread very soggy. This is not London prices, or airport prices...it was Glossop. I shall not be returning....although I would imagine if they don't reprice their food they won't be around too long.

Popped into A'bout Thyme for a spot of lunch today at 1.20. The Special was Mikes Hash £7.99 so we ordered two. At 1.55 when the table next to us was served with Mikes Hash, having arrived 15 minutes after us, I asked when we could expect ours. The response was that they had to warm up a batch and ours would be a few minutes. Not "sorry we've made a mistake & you should have been served first, we do apologise". By 2.05 we gave up, paid for our tea and left. No explanation given, they weren't busy or understaffed. But saving grace, their till receipt said THANK YOU FOR SHOPPING LOCAL. We tried, and failed!

Called in this cafe during a trip to Glossop on a thursday morning. Very nice suroundings and efficient staff. I regarded this establishment a notch up from a bog standard cafe, so expectations were raised. Ordered one full english breakfast and one small with tea and coffee. The breakfast was well cooked and tasty and the teas and coffee's were perfect. All for under £19, great value. Just one small personal gripe the square plates were a little small and didn't do justice on presentation, food was cramped up. Still will use again soon.

Saw this place while passing, and two of us popped in for a coffee. The drinks were nice and reasonably priced, the place comfortable and clean, and the service was prompt. However what was off-putting, and the reason I would not order food here, was that two of the three girls behind the counter came out to stroke a customer's dog - then returned to food service without washing their hands. Very unhygienic. While not serving customers, three girls were stood behind the counter the whole time having a personal conversation - this included the 'f word' and other obscenities - all within earshot of customers. Very unprofessional.

First visit to Tyme and wouldn't visit again. Not a large menu offering but that's not always a bad thing. My husband ordered a jacket potato cheese and beans. It came in a bowl - jacket potato upside down under lava hot cheese. Worst presentation ever. The salad on the side was actually half a cherry tomato with 2 lettuce leaves. For the price you'd expect at least better presentation. My fruit loaf toast came coated in butter and grease when I asked for butter on the side. This sounds like a small thing but I can't eat much fat without getting ill, so it made the food inedible for me. Nobody came to see if the food was ok. You pay at the counter so if it's busy you don't have a chance to speak to staff unless you want to join a long queue. We tend to visit Kimberley's cafe frequently and I think we'll stick with there - we fancied a change but regretted it.

The ice cream cornet with a choice of topping was presented in a dark blue paper knapkin. All very nicely served at the table, and not pricey. Got the impression of a well-run, clean establishment. We walked into the cafe and sat at a table and read the menu. The cafe only had a handful of customers in, and surprisingly six staff behind the counter. Some leaning on furniture, and the younger staff looking rather unsure of there role. We thought someone would take our order from the table but this was not to be the case after waiting a while. We approached the counter, placed our order, repeatedly, paid and sat down. Only one drink came, mine did not. I asked about my drink, when she forgot about, and waited. Our food came later. My panini came, my partners did not. We reminded the server, we ordered hot pot and a panini, we waited but we were now frustrated as six people behind the counter and it was all messed up!!! This is such a shame as the food was nice. I will not return, I will spend my money elsewhere. Somewhere with better staff, better service and more welcoming.

If there's a more colourful cafe in the UK, I'd like you to show me it. The sofas and tables here are in all the colours of the rainbow. Food includes jacket potatoes, local pies, and sandwiches, etc. So, while it isn't a foodie haven it is a good place to catch up with friends over an unpretentious bight to eat. There are free newspapers if you are on your own. Hopefully the owners can sort out the condensation on the windows, which can make it feel a bit damp in cold wet weather. It's new, so I'm sure they are working on this.

We have been regular visitors to Hargreaves prior to Covid, it's our favourite eatery in Buxton and always look forward to our visit. We visited yesterday and what a disappointment. What was once an " Edwardian " tea room , now looks more like a works canteen. My favourite colour is green, but the plain painted walls in a drab olive colour just doesn't work especially with no prints to break it up. Tableclothes seem to have disappeared and the lighting looks awful. Oh and they have fallen into the trap of PC "Unisex" loos. Having said all that, the food was very good and the staff/service efficient and friendly. Sorry, these, I know, are difficult times and it is all a matter of personal taste, just not to ours. I wish them well but we will now have to seek out pasture new.
