Sacro Lounge in High Peak

Overpriced, underwhelming food. Portion sizes were appealing for the price. I won't eat here again. The quality was poor too.

Sacro is a lovely place for a lunch or coffee with friends or family. It’s got a great menu with vegan and GF options, and its cosy decor makes you completely forget you’re inside a shopping precinct.

Have been to Buxton a few times and this looked a very popular haunt so thought would try it out. Even though we only had soft drinks, it was a lovely hot day with the doors fully open. I can say that the staff were very friendly and I thought the ambience and atmosphere was very good. I will be back.

I used Sacro Lounge whilst staying in Buxton for a training course. The menu has a reasonable range of options and you can either order via an app or at the bar. I ordered a cheeseburger with chips which arrived promptly. The burger was tasty whilst the chips were lovely and hot. The venue is dog friendly so if you're not a fan of dogs, you might want to take this into consideration.

Staff were brilliant, food was delicious and we used the space upstairs as we were a large work party of 25. Our server was really friendly and helpful - not to mention patient with us all! There were lots of vegetarian and vegan options to choose from, which was fantastic and suited the majority of our party (tasty meat dishes also available!). If we lived close by I am sure we would be back again soon, thanks Sacro Buxton!

I was travelling down from Glasgow to Buxton for a work training course and due to the usual railway company incompetence, my arrival in Buxton was much later than expected and as a result I was not sure I would be able to find anywhere that was still open to be able to serve food as opposed to me getting a take-away. I contacted Sacro Lounge by e-mail while I was on the train (at least the train company e-mail was working.....) and asked if they would be able to accommodate me for a meal bearing in mind my train was scheduled to arrive in Buxton @ 2121 hours. I received a reply from Nathan to say that although the kitchen normally closes earlier in the middle of the week, he had spoken to the kitchen staff and they were happy to wait on for me. I then sent in my order via e-mail from their online menu to hopefully minimise the time the kitchen staff had to stay back. The train arrived bang on time, I hot footed it round to the restaurant, I was told by Nathan in his e-mail to ask for Chloe, Chloe was ready and waiting for my arrival. By now, I was the only person in the restaurant, as I was about to enter the premises, 4 people were leaving so it was very much a "table for one". Ordered a drink, paid for my food & drink, took a seat and within a couple of minutes my starter arrived quickly followed by my main course. The food had obviously been prepared there and then, it had not been cooked and then re-heated, the food was extremely tasty and just exactly what I needed after a long day of travel. Top marks to Nathan, Chloe and the rest of the team at Sacro Lounge that went above and beyond to help me out, it was very much appreciated. I would heartily recommend Sacro Lounge to anyone who is going to be visiting Buxton.

On my own I sat at an outside table in the lovely sunshine and called the waitress over who was delivering food to a nearby table. I asked her how could I order a pot of tea and a toasted tea cake. She said ‘you will have to go in and order’ I replied that being on my own if I did that I may lose the table seat a they were popular. She repeated what she said, mumbled something, turned her back and walked off not to return. At that I got up and left Sacro, went across the road to Caffè Nero where the very friendly staff brought my tea and tea cake to me at an outside table, as they could see I had walking difficulties. The girl at Sacro couldn’t have missed my walking stick. The last time I went in Sacro the lunch was awful and I returned it to the bar, it looked as if it had been in their kitchen for a few days, my friend had a very grease laden bacon sandwich which was disgusting. I will not return there as customer service is not high on their agenda and I’m not prepared to eat highly priced rubbish food either.😡

We visited for a quick breakfast while the tyre on our car was being fixed. I was initially worried about time but I needn’t have as the service was quick and efficient. I had the bacon and pancakes and my partner had a large breakfast, it came within 10 minutes and we can’t complain about any of it. Lovely fluffy pancakes, crispy bacon and loads of food on the full English. Would definitely recommend especially as they have a good selection for vegans and gluten free.

We stumbled across this place on a very rainy trip to Buxton. Even though the weather was bad and it was a Monday, the place was busy .we ordered a lounge breakfast and a veggie breakfast. We loved both meals and the place was very chilled. We would definitely visit here again next time we are in Buxton.

Lovely gluten free brunch with my family and lots of gf choices . Very tasty food and good service. Excellent coffee as well.

All the staff (except one, blonde female) were great, but it does only take one to spoil the experience. The pub is nice, the food is good, but one rude, aggressive member of staff spoiled everyone elses hard work. So we ate up, drank up, and left. We wont be back!

Great pub, great atmosphere, nice staff, reasonable prices, food looks great, but just one annoyance....WiFi access! Poor SIM data access on Three and Voda, so really need WiFi, but as with many places you have to sign in and give up your personal data, which I now refuse to do. I don't have to do this to have the heating on, or the lights on or to get a seat, why should I have to give up my personal data to get WiFi access. Internet access should, in 2024, in a public place, be a given, and should not put customers off. It should be free, fast and easy to access....and without the horrible data harvesting. Don't lose customers over it!

So disappointed today. Arrived and seated, all good (I have been to Sacro numerous times with friends and the children and always been okay previously). Today went to order food, waited around 5 minutes, again fine, they are obviously busy. Eventually, lady approached me at the bar and said '[ took a big sigh] it's not even my day to be on the bar today, but I'll serve you'. I thought, fine, didn't really need to know that as a customer though. Ordered food and milkshakes. Milkshakes arrived minus my adult drink, which I had to go back and request twice - arrived 10 minutes later, again let it go. Milkshakes: children have had them before and started complaining 'it tastes like water'. I tasted them, they were very watery and not up to usual standard, again though, let it go. Food arrived 3 children's meals - fine, all good. Adults meals - one philly cheese steak sandwich and one lamb flatbread. Both dishes were stone cold, not tepid, stone cold. So we thought, no, we work hard for our wages, let's go elsewhere. Took food to bar, suddenly they are all 'free' to huddle around. Young blonde lady said 'the flatbread is always cold, it's meant to be cold' - I asked 'is the meat meant to be stone cold in this meal and the hot philly cheese steak sandwich', 'Okay calm down' - what? Why am I being told to calm down - I'm asking a question. She just kept repeating 'the flatbread is always cold' - 'what about the hot philly cheese steak?'. She just kept saying 'the flatbread is meant to be cold'. Old blonde lady starts saying 'we aren't refunding the kid's meals, there's nothing wrong with them'. Fine I said, 'but we wanted to eat as a family but fine'. The young blonde carries on 'the flatbread is meant to be cold'. For heaven's sake I thought. Husband comes over 'stop patronising my wife please, very negative attitude in here'. The young blonde lady says 'you're the negative one'. Hubby: 'you need to sort your attitude and vibe out'. She shouts 'You need to sort your attitude and vibe out'. Then she bursts out crying and runs off to the staff room. What a drama queen. Where is the customer service here? Moaning about 'it's not my job' to us, 'calling us negative because your food is stone cold' - in between all this another one was moaning about 'look at these dishes I've got to wash' at the bar. Really disappointed, you've lost a regular customer and I'll be telling my friends about my experience. We then wondered up to Noonology, the vibe was incredible. The staff in there were incredible, lovely chilled people. Children had the same milkshakes which were amazing and the food was hot, tasty and full of flavour. We spent anther £100 in Noonology (Sacro manager did refund us for all the meals but not the watery milkshakes, that's fine though, children did drink them). If you want cold food with a crappy vibe, go to Sacro, but if you want a nice atmosphere, spend a little more in a smaller local cafe bar. Sort it out Sacro - not the first review you have like this.

We had a lovely lunchtime snack, excellent service & pleasant staff. Very impressed with the staff and cleanliness, tables were soon cleared after customers had left.

The staff were friendly and attentive, and the food was fresh and tasty, with a good amount of vegetarian options. I tried something new and had the falafel flatbread, which was delicious and I’d definitely have it again. The usual nice vibe and fascinating décor you’d expect from Lounges.

Yet another great breakfast, this place never fails, everything on the plate was top notch, great coffee too…….keep up the good work.

First time visiting yesterday as the restaurant where we intended to eat was closed. 2 Families with children of various ages all easily found something on the menu they liked. My son is ceiliac and there was a full menu for him to choose from too. Food was served promptly and was really very good. Will definitely visit again. Only slight criticism was the on line table booking, we weren’t sure whether a £5 deposit was required, turned out it wasn’t, it wasn’t the easiest.

We came here with the family but was a little disappointed and wasn't the most positive experience. But starting with the positives, I thought the staff were really lovely and welcoming and i couldn't fault them! The food was mostly good, but seemed a bit underdone and i think maybe it was just rushed with the amount of people in there. the atmosphere was very overbearing, it was very cramped and crammed with people and tables so close together. i came into the restaurant relaxed but then coming out of the restaurant, i felt quite stressed and shaken. Me and my daughter are afraid of dogs and quickly realised it was a dog-friendly restaurant, which is totally fine, i didn't think wouldn't be an issue if they were well behaved and i thought we could easily avoid them, but then a dog from another table started getting quite aggressive and barking at us, and as we were walking past their table, it lunged itself at my youngest and not in a playful way either, my daughter was petrified and the owners were very ignorant and unapologetic, and it left us both quite shaken up. i wished we could have moved to another table but we couldn't because it was already packed downstairs. Of course, it wasn't really the restaurant's fault, but I just don't think dogs and restaurants are really a good mix. it would be best if you had designated area for dog owners or at least some dog free areas. but i dont want to end on all negatives so i liked the variety of the menu and the staff were amazing.

First visit here, the lunch that arrived looked as if it had been standing in a kitchen for a week, lukewarm and VERY unappetising. Returned to kitchen and reordered their Parsnip Soup with chunky bread & butter and the bill was adjusted. This was generous excellent hot soup, very tasty, the bread was fresh too. More than made up for the above disaster. Hasn't put me off going in again but with understandable caution. Comfortable seating and the staff were very pleasant and welcoming.

Great for a light bite or something larger. Lovely helpful staff, seated straight away and food arrived in no time at all. We will definitely be back:-)

Very fast service ! Ordered in the app and drinks came straight away ! Cheap and cheerful food but couldn’t fault it at all had the chicken club sandwich and the fishfinger sandwich both were very good !

What can I say? It was Amazing. The staff were incredible and polite. We waited 10 minutes at least and the food was brought out to us. I picked the Mexican superbowl which was delicious and fulfilling. I also got the Pink lemonade and it was sweet and everything you could ever want. For dessert I got the churros which were soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside and warm all around and the dipping sauces were brilliant. Excellent service with Execllent prices. 10/10 I would Highley recommend

Wow what a fantastic place, we popped in yesterday to look at the menu to see if there was anything the children would eat, we were greeted instantly by a friendly guy who showed us the menus, and to a table after we decided to try it out. We couldn't fault anything, the food, atmosphere & service were absolutely fantastic. We can’t wait to return , such a child friendly venue. Ohh and the coleslaw I don’t usually like, but it was absolutely Delicious, all 5 meals we couldn't fault.

We had always commented on how nice this place looked when walking past but always assumed it was more of a coffee shop than a restaurant and with not being a lover of coffee had never ventured in.... How wrong I was we went in for an evening meal and I have to say it was absolutely delicious! A mix of burgers Tapas and Mexican it is definitely a real good find! We are already telling friends and family about it and will definitely return. A hidden gem in plain sight :) Keep up the good work!
