Search lights, barbed wire and machine gun towers would look out of place here, what with the waffen-ss staff, ruthlessly enforcing outdated anti-cannabis ideology as if their very survival depended upon spoiling the vibe.

We visited to watch a band and I'll definitely be returning.

This pub rocks. It has customers from a range of demographics, so I felt right at home immediately. The staff were very friendly, and indeed, quite a lot of the customers appeared to have been staff at some point. There was live music in the attic, which turned out to be the former front man from the Inspiral Carpets, so this place is no parochial frippery. It has pulling power and I can quite see why. We spent hours just chatting, petting others' dogs and going with the flow. A wonderful pub.

Nice pub! Fabulous upstairs music venue. All vegan menu. Far too many tables and chairs to actually fit into them and eat!

Been coming here on and off for years, usually been decent food and good value. The site micro brewery beer was always dreadful. Lately there has been a price increase which is understandable with how things are, however the food we had was pretty lacklustre and not good value. Mushroom nut roast tasted like burnt toast, rock hard yorkshire puddings and watery gravy. Ice cream sundae at £5.40 with one flavour scoop of ice cream and some squirty cream was pretty disappointing. Sticky toffee pudding was quite good though.

Great local Pub with a great atmosphere and great beer.

Lovely atmosphere and service, but sadly the food was really lacking compared to previous visits. £8 for macaroni cheese which had barely any flavour and seemed to consist of just pasta, a bisto watery cheese sauce, a couple of pieces of vegan pancetta with anemic looking garlic bread. I was disappointed that it didn't have any seasonings & much pancetta at all. We considered ordering pudding but cake for £6 was incredibly steep! We have had food in previous years and were always really happy but this time seemed really expensive for what it was. The prices seem to have been hiked but quality hasn't risen. We used to love coming here if we were in the area, it was one of our main reasons to visit Glossop, but probably won't come back again.

Almost exactly halfway between my home in Dumbarton and my daughters in Ilford and with a Travelodge within 10 minutes walk it seemed the perfect place to break the journey. I had a Nacho Burger and my wife had Mac & Cheese. Both were delicious and satisfying although she did leave room for some cake. I washed mine down with a pint of Ron’s Comet Pale Ale brewed “out the back”! Might have to stop off again on the way home!

I was looking to break my drive from Dumbarton to London and Glossop is almost exactly halfway, so to find a vegan pub with a Travelodge 10 minutes walk away seemed too good an opportunity to turn down! We weren’t disappointed with our mac ‘n’ cheese and nacho burger, all nicely presented by friendly staff and I got to wash mine down with a couple of pints of Ron’s Comet a pale ale which was brewed “out the back”! I’ll need to stop off again for a tour of the brewery and a live band 🤘

Fantastic all vegan menu, friendly staff and a really nice relaxed atmosphere. I had macaroni cheese, an old favourite that is hard to do with vegan cheese. The Globe nailed it!

Absolutely fantastic 🙂 Food ordered over the phone with friendly staff, I was given a timeframe to collect - food was hot and ready at that time. Staff were smiley and attentive. Food was INCREDIBLE and really reasonably priced. Wholly recommended and we'll be ordering again very soon!

A great lunch with my wife this afternoon for our Anniversary. Relaxed atmosphere, very welcoming and the food was excellent, will definitely be going again 🙂

Ordered 2 samosa’s and 1 spring roll with drinks The food cost £7.80 for 3 individual mini ( very small) food items, the food was a rip off Shame as the food used to be good value.

Used to be great; seems to have faded significantly lately, appears uncred for which is sad. The beer is poorly kept and our meal was constantly interrupted by barking dogs on a number of neighbouring tables, who were both on the furniture, tables and being fed by owners. Whist it’s perfectly natural for people to love their pets, it is.best left to their homes not a restaurant. Needs a review of hygiene standards. A pity.

Amazing food here! We had already eaten elsewhere today but the menu sounded so good we couldn’t help but try some of it, one of the nicest lunches out we’ve ever had and the service matches! We will be back many many more times!

A must for any trip to Glossop. Very reasonably priced drinks and great food.

Go there when I visit Glossop to see Granddaughter and family. Never had a bad meal. Sunday lunch excellent, even biscuits for the dogs. A real gem 💎

We visited on a Sunday afternoon and had no trouble finding a table. We ordered two different curries and two burgers. The curries were absolutely delicious, but unfortunately, the burgers were terribly dry. The buns were large and could have been a bit grilled. The veggie burgers were tasty, and the toppings were well-chosen, but there was no sauce inside. This made the burgers less flavorful and difficult to swallow. The service was very nice and helpful and the beer was as good as always

We visited today and had a great selection of excellence value food. Even my fussy kids ate off the kids menu and our dog loved the doggy biscuits and the fuss. We’ve been coming for years. The Globe is a reliable pit stop for our family and we love coming here. Easy parking in the shopping area too.

The globe is absolutely ace. I've frequented for years and have a wonderful experience each time. The service and the staff are absolutely spot on and chatty. The food is excellent and the atmosphere is unique. They offer awesome events and I enjoyed the pub quiz hosted on Wednesdays! Definitely a pub to call your regular!

Fantastic vegan place, with an impressive menu with seriously impressive prices. I have no idea how they manage to remain so affordable in today's climate, especially without the economy of scale that non-veg cuisine provides. It's a quaint little pub that feels very unassuming, just like anywhere else you'd go to get a pint and a plate of chips in an evening, but with the pleasant twist of the vegan menu. It's a great place to go for dinner and get hearty, simple vegan food.

No meat options draft beer isn't good much better pubs in glossop.

Called in for food this evening, first time an most definitely not the last - Food was amazing, really good value for money, service was brilliant - the guy behind the bar was pleasant an friendly.. Will be back. Had spring rolls, samosas an chilli nachos for starter (unfortunately didn't get a pic) but had the big stacker for main was delicious, good size portions also.

A Glossop institution. The food is great value and much of it is homemade. I recommend the katsu curry and sticky toffee pudding with maple and walnut ice cream.

Not a vegan, or even vegetarian, but my partner is and one of our favourite places to eat is definitely the globe. Genuinely would probably end up vegan if I lived close enough to the globe to go everyday, their food is that wonderful. Beer ain't bad either!

Travelled across from our holiday in Holmfirth to visit this recommended vegan pub but sadly left without finishing our meals. The chickpea curry and rice were both far too salty and inedible. The garlic naan was good but very disappointed with the rest. Left me sweating and with a fast beating heart and needed to get outside fast. Sadly can't recommend here at all.

A fabulous find for a vegan away from home. A traditional pub with a vegan menu, at a ridiculously cheap price, great service too. If I lived in Glossop I would eat there several times a week!

Love it here being vegetarian it’s great to have more than one option on a menu literally everything on the menu is for vegan and vegetarian! Food was great proper chips not frozen chips staff were helpful and friendly will definitely be coming back! 😊

Great vegan food & very reasonably priced

Yum yum had a delicious vegan meal but it was the dessert that made it for us. Whoever thought of fried nachos and butterscotch icecream with caramel sauce was genius!!! We ordered three extra scoops of the cream and created a sharing plate, not that I wanted to share 🤤🤤🤤😋😋😋 highly recommended

This is a great pub that serves good food and quality beer. I'm an meateater but really enjoy the vegan bacon cheese burgers they do. The staff are always welcoming and talkative when I go for the Glossop pipe club meetings on the second Sunday of the month.

Called in with my daughter for a desert it was very nice, staff were polite and friendly. 100% going back for more sometime soon .

A great pub. We went to see a Ska band TVOD. The acoustics were great, staff were brilliant and the beer was good too!

Didn't try the food, to be honest it looked a bit out of my league, I did try the Draught Bass which was in superb condition and served directly from the barrel, unfortunately they'd just sold out of Jaipur, hopefully it'll be on next visit.

What a lovely welcoming venue and the food was not only very reasonably priced but delicious. Also dogs welcome.....super

We were seduced by the positive reviews and the very reasonably priced all vegan menu. I was served lukewarm bland chili with soggy warmed up chips and my wife a couple of supermarket meat free sausages with similarly rubbish chips and what was described as onion gravy. Tasted like a bit of weak bisto. We didn't finish and went elsewhere to eat something else. One of the worst meals we've had for some time.

Visited over the weekend, friendly staff, very welcoming, good choice of beers including some from their own micro brewery. Tasty food from a 100% vegan menu… highly recommend, will definitely visit again.

The Globe's a firm favourite for Family lunches. A good old-fashioned down-to-earth boozer with a pinball table, but with a fully vegan menu. Great pub grub, friendly service and extremely fair prices.

We waited all week to come here, on the basis of such glowing reviews. As far as the pub itself goes, it is a full-on old skool pub which we love. Characterful and traditional. The food, which we came for, was the biggest disappointment... For a menu which prides itself as 'almost everything being made in-house" it tasted on a par with Heron Foods frozen fodder. I couldn't even finish my sausage, chips and onion gravy...if you can't get that right, you're doing something wrong. So, come here for the pub and a very reasonably priced drink, but save your money for a decent meal elsewhere.

Great to have a fully vegan menu but disappointed to only find one gluten free dish! Absolutely amazing value for money though - where can you get a main meal for a fiver nowadays?! If you're vegan or even just curious GO HERE!

What a gem this place is! There's a great variety of options, and all vegan. The value is excellent and it's almost all made in-house. They even brew their own beer, which is fantastically priced and also delicious. I recommend this place for anyone who likes good home cooked food (and beer) in a traditional English pub environment.

Lovely cosy pub! Had the Sunday lunch and it was delish and good value. Only downside is the seitan was a little bready, but still nice!

Sorry guys but something has to change! Food cold AGAIN.Curry not up to scratch,hardly any sauce and way too many chickpeas.Order taken incorrectly on top of that! In a word 1 out of 10. Not a happy camper.

This place has to be the most friendliest place in Glossop to eat, drink, have a night out with live music, or just sit and read with a book and a cuppa. The locals are just as friendly! Kids & dogs are also welcome too. Although I am not vegan, this pub sells vegan food and it is DELICIOUS! Probably the most welcoming and cheapest place in Glossop to drink or eat. It's a great place to stop in if you are driving through from Manchester to the hills of the High Peak.

My friend picked this place for their birthday. Exactly the food we needed after a long walk and staff were so friendly and amazing. Chips were amazing and I had the Keema which was 10/10 - big table of 10+ of us and everyone was super happy with their food.

dropped in after a walk in the Peak District. Service was quick and atmosphere was friendly. Everything on the menu looked great and was extremely reasonably priced. Ended up having starter, main, dessert and a drink for less that £15pp!

I've been coming here for years. The pub is very old fashioned and that's exactly how I like my pubs! The upstairs has a fantastic long and high barn type room with a stage at one end. It was great to be back watching some fantastic music up there at the weekend. The food is vegan and always very tasty. Well worth a visit!

Great vegan food for an insanely affordable price (<6£ for all meals that are both homecooked, filling and tasty) and some of the friendliest staff out there. Great poetry/spoken word night and funnest pubquiz we’ve done. Highly recommended

The Globe is a fabulous pub. The vegan food is amazing(and I'm not vegan!) The people are wonderful and friendly and the live music is 2nd to none. I've been back on an annual basis since we discovered it. Highly recommend

A good local in house vegan brewery pub. Decent choice of ales the Toby Porter especially was on form. When in Glossop have made this our local. Also has a pinball machine ( even better ) well worth a visit. Has a vegan menu and the portions are on the good size. Not a vegan myself but have tried the food an can recommend.

Superb. Can't believe how cheap it all is. Really tasty food. I had the chickpea curry, was spot on. A pint of beer is 3 quid! That is rare nowadays. Love that the pub still looks so old fashioned, bar guy was welcoming. I want more!
