Caffe Nero in High Peak

A great spot to get a drink and something to eat. The staff were really friendly and created a great atmosphere. Their menu has a vast selection of delicious drinks and food. I managed to get my drink quickly and it was one of the best hot chocolates I have had in a while. This cafe is also dog friendly.

Very expensive, staff rude, toilet not great. They must have put extra seating and a table in which looks like school furniture or off the tip.

Stayed in Buxton for a few days and breakfasted in this cafe each morning. Great coffee (take away) and good breakfast (granola and fruit) although limited choice. Staff were great! Very quick, chatty, friendly and good at their jobs. Thanks, looking forward to coming back.

Poorly cleaned cups, caramel latte, ridiculous amount of syrup..avoid

Staff here act like customers are an inconvenience. More interested in measuring coffee grounds than serving customers. I came with a stroller and they weren't interested in assisting, despite there being numerous staff and not that busy. Staff are a bit odd. I was made to feel stupid because I asked for a different size flat white and staff weren't forthcoming with other suggestions. I didn't enjoy my experience but the coffee was good. There is a step up to the entrance and the door opens outwards so this is NOT an accessible coffee shop, not even for strollers.

Nice place and wonderfully dog friendly

It was OK but rather gloomy and rundown. Frankly, rather disappointing. On the upside, the cappuccino was really nice.

The staff member that served us was very blunt and rude. No hello, or acknowledgement, just wanted to get the process of us out of the way. I ordered a coconut flat white as I cannot have cows milk, I received a normal flat white. All the staff do is talk between themselves, they are not interested in the customer at all. The shop is disgustingly dirty. Will not be going back.

Having used this establishment for the past 10 years, 2/3 times a week my friends and I were mortified by the current Manageress attitude towards D Day celebrations last week. We enquired about the absence of the of the Union flag in the left hand window (the right hand window was already occupied with an another) her belligerent and disrespectful reply was, Pride celebrations were far more important than the D Day celebrations as it happened 80 years ago and it was for only one day. She further went on to say that it was her shop and if we did not like it, we could leave and not come back. The cleanliness of this shop has been on the decline for sometime, so apart from missing an excellent cup of Tea I will not miss it

My go to for coffee. Staff and friendly despite often being under pressure especially during busy tourist days. Cakes are now obscenely expensive but unfortunately most places now are the same, but at least they are quality. My go to chain for coffee and hot chocolate. Kids love the kids hot chocolate.

A lovely cafe with friendly service. A short haired girl served us, she was friendly and I was really happy with her service. That being said I asked for caffeine free options and she recommended me a chai latte. I happily ordered it and halfway through it started to feel funny. After googling it it turned out chai latte has caffeine in it. Please take other people‘s intolerance seriously and make sure you know what is caffeine free.

Shabby and in need of refurbishment. Staff barely interrupted their laughing and joking to take my order. They were so busy chatting to each other they didn’t bother wiping down chairs and tables, or sweep up debris on floor. Coffee was ok it will go to Coffee #1 next time.

Glasses weren't cleaned and the Lipton ice tea was expired.

This place desperately needs redecoration and stronger management. Today, there were dogs sitting on chairs/sofas (instead of being on the floor) and children putting their feet on table tops (and we all know where their shoes have been and what they have walked through). The staff didn't take any action to stop these things - they didn't even wipe the table tops down afterwards! There are cleaner coffee shops in Buxton - and we will be going there in future.

Nice cafe but very slow and poor service as sitting in the cafe observing 1 member of staff sitting regularly with another staff member who obviously wasn't working today so 1 person behind the counter and often 3/4 customers waiting and leaving

I absolutely love this place. I visit often, and I highly recommend it to everyone who enjoys quality coffee, paninis (the hot ham and cheese version is especially very tasty), and a very pleasant atmosphere.

Dont sit on neros furniture, if you havent brought anything from them, you will be greeted with a female angry manager, i was just sat having a rest, simlpy because i am expecting, I got asked to move, The female manager was very rude, There should be a sign on the furniture, PLEASE DO NOT SIT, CUSTOMERS ONLY, I WAS UNAWARE !

Visited this site several times in the last year, once a month or so, staff always friendly and service has been great even when busy. Drinks and food always served hot and quickly. The prices are in line with the rest of the towns similar establishments and the range is wide varying. I look forward to the origami on the counter which has been different every time I've visited, keep it up guys!! Buxton is a tough crowd and some are only coming out just to give themselevs something new to moan about but you're nailing it ;)

I never normally go to cafe Nero unless we're very desperate. honestly it was very good today as there were tasty cakes and surprisingly good coffee.

I love hot chocolate in Cafe Neron and I believe it's better than other coffee shop, and today is my first time to be in Buxton travelled 2hrs to get here and glad to see Cafe Nero however very disappointed for the rudeness of the manager (BETTY) went inside at 10am in the morning ordered my HC togo and asked for a tissue and (BETTY) was infront of me and she replied "I don't work here/I don't work today and she was inside the bar counter chatting to other staff on the floor and tissue just under the counter infront of her! What a poor customer service she have zero! Sorry to bring this up I worked as a restaurant manager and we never treat our customers like that never! We make sure they will experience excellent customer service. Worst part was BETTY ruined my day! Just a piece of advice working or not as long as you're in the premisses you are carrying the company name so show some respect!

Staff were slagging off ex-staff members. Not being quiet about it at all. Floor manager or head barista, unsure of her position, was being incredibly disrespectful about previous employee’s, calling them names. She also rolled her eyes because we came in an hour before closing time. Rushed our drinks too. Store is very unclean, tables and floors were filthy and the bathroom was disgusting. Used to be a great cafe with friendly staff, now it’s run by people who think the highlight of the day is degrading others who left to find better jobs. Will never be coming back.

Friendly staff make this place. Good seating too. No parking. Only downside is the overall size which means they soon run out of food……. Get in quick!

I was served today by a wonderfully helpful and articulate man. His coworker , however, was more interested in chatting at him rather than help him. She then proceeded to take a long time to prepare a drink for herself whilst ignoring another customer until she’d finished her own drink. Beverages were good. Cafe itself lovely.

Not great service I'm afraid. Staff were more interested in chatting to each other than serving the customers. Tables outside not cleared. I appreciate it was a very hot day but still.

I would say a little understaffed as service was a bit on the slow side. welcoming, clean tidy coffee shop.

My partner and I stopped for refreshments. This was our first visit to a Caffe Nero and it was a very nice experience. The staff were really friendly and the place was clean and tidy. The toilet however lets it down.

A beautiful little place opposite the springs shopping centre on Market street ! Enjoy a stroll in the park do your shopping sit on the tables outside do a bit of people watching & enjoy it’s unique coffee taste which I would say is very strong with a bitter after taste which we Italians love ! Why 4 stars it could of been little hotter temperature was out ! Staff are fantastic & helpful & told me everything about app !

Called in Sunday Mother’s Day for a coffee , on first impression the cafe is dirty . Staff appearance wasn’t the best. Whilst there I used the toilet, no toilet paper and cleanlinesses to a poor standard. Told staff member on leaving her answer was ok. Won’t be back this is far the worse cafe Nero I have been to.

Lovely feeling from the moment you walk in when you are greeted with a warm welcome from the staff. Knowledgeable and pleasant staff to make your day feel special which always makes me happy and I think others might appreciate it. I also witnessed a new trainee get coached and the way she was walked through everything step by step you can see that maintaining a standard is a must but always done with a wonderful smile.

Nine dogs lying about on floors and not controlled by owners. Not safe to carry hot coffee. Will not visit again unhygienic.

Disgusting behavior from a female member of staff who shouted at a female and elderly gentleman yesterday because she was too busy to wipe a table. Will not be going back, only go in there as it’s convenient, will walk down to costa from now on. The place has gone down hill, very dirty, noisy, full of dogs and now rude staff. Won’t be going in a again.

Coffee decent. Crumbs and dirty cups/plates on most tables. Wifi does not work - keeps disconnecting. Filthy toilet.

Just can't understand why they keep selling undercooked apricot croissants, why not learn from the mistake the first time?

A very loud lady serving behind the counter. Shouts at everyone, doesn’t let people finish speaking and tells many customers off for leaning on the glass. No customer service skills or politeness. It takes more than being efficient to be a good barista.

I would normally chose Caffè Nero has the best chain coffee shop. But this Buxton location has gruesome toilets and has clearly not had a penny spent on decoration since it was opened many years ago. Not a nice place to be.

A tad noisy when we went in but the heavens had just opened and it got very busy very quickly with folk getting in out of the rain. Kept clean with a nice variety of seating and made very welcome by the staff.

Unhelpful service. Arrogant staff member in her 20's serving. I didn't seem important to her and as well as having to shout my order to her back she wasn't interested in selecting the correct item from the display cabinet. Considering that COSTA has closed down the road (in the hospitality sector) that has been hit hard by Covid I would have thought that welcoming customers was a better idea. I have been a customer for a long time. Maybe it's time to try somewhere else. Dave

Visited today. Tired and worn decor with smelly toilets. Drinks distinctly average. Never been to Buxton before and won’t rush back. If I did, I’d get a drink elsewhere I’m afraid.

It's a high street Caffe Nero – not a luxury venue but it is ok and the coffee is good.

Stopped for quick coffee. Coffee to Nero standard and toasted tea cake very nice. Real disappointment was the very smelly and unhygienic toilet and the poor standard of table cleaning, staff member clearly unhappy when asked to clean table. Descending to Starbucks low standards ????? Come on you can do better.

Still my favourite high street coffee. This outlet is fine, the tables unclean at times, but the service is friendly, the food good. Access off the street may be difficult due to the step up and heavy door.

Sorry to say that coffee shop was not upto the standard that i have been used to the staff were too busy to clear the tables. So we did not stay to long.
