The Move It or Lose it group had their Christmas Lunch at The Ship and it was great. Each course was nicely presented and tasted great. The food was plentiful, with lots of meat and vegetables. Nothing was too much trouble. The atmosphere was great too I can understand why it’s so popular! It was also easy to book too, through Facebook/Messenger.

This is by far an underrated resturant. The lady who's taken over cooks amazing meals many of them italian as well as traditional dishes and a breakfast buffet. It's a must for anyone in the area or just passing.

Fue increíble que nos dieron a mí y a mi amigo una bebida gratis porque accidentalmente hicieron el mismo pedido dos veces fueron muy amables con todo y muy acogedores

Wonderful spot for coffee and cake. Great place to socialise. Friendly polite staff and delicious food. Would highly recommend this little gem of a cafe

Would highly recommend visiting The Chequers. We stopped by for lunch, had the seared salmon, tarragon & confit chicken Kiev & crème fraiche panna cotta. There were a number of specials displayed on the chalk board although we decided to stay with the main menu this time. All absolutely excellent. Warm welcome & great service. We will definitely visit again. Thank you.

We have been quite a few times as it is sort of a half way point for our extended family to join up from various parts of the country . It was after Christmas so not as busy as usual, which was good as we can get a bit noisy and this time we had a new baby in the family, who turned out to be the quietest of all. Service as always was friendly, and as usual nothing is too much trouble. We shall be back again, hopefully before next Christmas.

Firstly may I say that the Sunday roast lunch here is very good This review has nothing to do with that. Attended for 3 lunch meals and chose scampi [which was good and fresh] and 2 pork souvlaki pita meals at 10.95 each which were very disappointing. Opening the pita revealed each had a miniscule amount of pork cubes inside. Each were about 8/10 mm square approx 6 [half the size of an oxo cube] One was tapered with a cut that left it half that size. All were some 125 mm in length[5 inch] How much does it cost to provide a few pork cubes. Added together one could have a mouthfull. I spent £22.00 for these two. The ladies were not happy. Informed the server of this who said they were sorry. Still £22 though. I rarely if ever complain We eat out frequently 2/3 times a week. Not here again. If it was the cooks aim to make as much profit as possible on this Wednesday afternoon on our meal, then it has failed miserably as we will not return to eat again. The landlord is a decent guy and I am sure that if he saw what we had been asked to pay for, I am sure he would have been horrified. Someone needs to get a grip.

As soon as we walked into the Stone Arms, both my wife and I, was greeted by the waitress/bar maid, who was so polite, charming and very welcoming. She showed us to our table and even though we were early, as our names were reserved the night before, there was no concern so we ordered our drinks. There was no rush to order, and the place was full with customers both in the restaurant and the bar. Our starters arrived and were lovely, fresh and delicious. We ordered the small Sunday dinners (small they were not), they were cooked to perfection with the cauliflower cheese sauce to die for. I was so full that I elected for a coffee. My wife ordered the apple crumble for dessert (I did taste a small bit - very yummy). All in all a wonderful experience. Staff were very lovely and so polite. Smiles all around. In my opinion, and I have been to all the restaurants in Lincoln, it was the best and we both thoroughly recommend you book. My only issue? ? Parking! The car park was full. But plenty of side streets to park in. Highly recommended.
