Sunday lunch at the Plough is definitely something to savour. A booking is hard to achieve as it's such a popular venue. However, having booked, we loved our meals. Terrific, high quality ingredients and so well cooked and presented. Not cheap, but probably the best Sunday lunch we've had for many years. We've booked again, obviously.

We seem to go about once a year. This is only because a bit out of our way and also we don't like going too often to any one place. Slightly more expensive than your average "Pub" Sunday lunch but well worth the little extra as a cut above. Starter soup was so tasty. Both Roast Beef and Pork we each had cooked to perfection with all veg and roast potatoes piping hot and home made. My date pudding with cornish cream ice cream really hit the spot. That was our third visit and rest assured we will be back. Thank you to our hostess and chef not forgetting the waitresses.

Had heard really good things about the plough inn. All were absolutely true following our experience last night. 4 of us went for dinner expecting great things and we were not disappointed. Warm welcome as soon as we walked in, shown to our table and given menus. A couple of minutes later drinks order taken. Served quickly and food ordered. Small plate starters of fish goujons and lamb sausages for 2 of us. Both were good and the sausages were really good. Some bread to soak up the sauce would have been nice. Mains of pork belly, calf's liver, sea bass and slow braised beef bourguignon. All came with well cooked accompaniments. The black pudding mash with the pork was a delightful find. Deserts of date sticky toffee pudding, malted dark chocolate tart and tiramisu, all obviously home made rounded the meal off superbly. All very pleasantly served by both staff and a nice attitude and approach by the landlady. Will definitely be back there before too long.

We have visited a few times now but feel that standards have slipped since our first visit after this venue reopened with new owners. On our first visit we found the food excellent, I even had 3 courses which is unheard of ! However we have now found that the menu is not as good or inventive as before just basic pub grub albeit well cooked. My main gripe and the reason for this review is that the place looks an absolute tip, both the bar and restaurant need a really good tidy up, I don’t want to sit eating my meal whilst looking at the unkempt bar containing at least 4 spray bottles of cleaning fluid, various j cloths, dirty glasses and opened bottles of wine on the counter, the bar area was the same with two opened packs of catering peanuts and cardboard boxes all over the bar counter. For goodness sake please delegate and teach your staff the art of tidying up which will also stop them from looking so bored. Our last visit has really put us off visiting again which is such a shame.

This is the best meal I’ve had in years, maybe ever. Advertised as pub food, this pub offers restaurant quality food from a lovely village setting. The service was excellent and the only problem is that the secret is out and you need to book. In my opinion, the Chef and joint owner made the George at Stamford famous’, and this pub is that and more.

What a superb venue. The Plough in Wilford is a popular venue for good reason, so book well in advance. A wonderful rustic pub in a small rural village, that offers a wonderful dining experience. The menu isn’t vast, but in my view that’s a good thing, but it does cater for most tastes. We were a table of 4 and every plate ordered was simply wonderful. Sarah the owner is very cheerful and chatty who is happy to explain in detail each dish on the menu, to help you choose. Her husband is the Chef, who must be complimented for his skills in presenting plentiful and very tasty plates of food. We have friends visiting next Month and we were lucky enough to book a repeat visit, I honestly can’t wait.

We we’re visiting Family today in Sleaford and it was also my mum’s 92nd birthday. My sister in law had booked the Plough as a treat for all of us and what a treat it was. We weren’t going to have 3 courses but the menu, the lovely smell of food cooking and the ambiance of the place tempted us. The food was lovely, well presented snd absolutely delicious. We had the white bait and Burrata and tomato salad, the beef cheeks bourgnigon, Roast chicken and chorizo risotto, the fish stew finished with the chocolate tart, tiramisu and the panacotta. Phew!! My elderly mum struggles to eat lots of foods now but they tweaked her choice and made suggestions so that she could enjoy her lunch. They even put a sparkler in her dessert for her birthday. The Plough delivered Gold. 22 and a half (sorry Annie) sat down to superb lunch, choices of starter, one main, choices of desert, cake and superb champagne. The attention was what we now expect from Sarah and Paul, unrivalled, unpretentious and faultless. The only downside is that it is 50 miles too far west. The people of Grantham and Sleaford should be so grateful they have the plough on their doorstep. Value for money? I don't know how they do it. Keep up the good work we all love it. Giles and Irene

On our way back from Boston to Belton Woods this evening we saw signs for The Plough and turned into into the village of Wilsford. We were welcomed immediately as we stepped through the door and despite being very busy were found a table. We ordered the Salmon, and the Lamb sausages. The food was of a high quality and the taste was exceptional without being 'over-Cheffed' as many places tend to do now. I particularly loved the blend of salmon with new potatoes and Thai green spice sauce. My wife thoroughly enjoyed the Minted lamb sausages and mash. The friendliness and ambiance is completely on point. Well done - great job, thank you and best of luck for the future.

We looked for a country pub on the way home from visiting our daughter at university and found The Plough. We had a very warm welcome from Sarah and Paul. There were two excellent ales on offer as well as a range of lagers, ciders etc. We chose the salmon and pate as starters and both were excellent, and then both had the roast beef. It was beautifully cooked and came with amazing cauliflower cheese and roasted vegetables. We hardly had room for desert so shared some profiteroles which were excellent too. IMO this restaurant's quality has deteriorated in recent times. The service is good but the food is hit & miss. My beef pie was not as shown on the menu, and clearly microwaved from frozen, thus making the pastry, not suet, inedible. The meat was tough. Everything else was fine. Its a shame that this attention to detail spoils a good location.

We visited this superb inn yet again, this time with friends and if never fails to impress. The welcome, the atmosphere, the food, just how good can a hostelry get? The whole experience was excellent, well presented, very tasty and served by attentive staff. This is a place that we shall visit again and again for the ambiance and consistency of service.

Today a group of us had lunch at The Plough, some had eaten there before and said how good it was, and how right they were. A good warm welcome, offered by so many pubs and not received was given to us, and the food was first class. I had the steak and ale pie with suet topping, which was to die for and other people felt the same about their meals, I've never seen to many clean plates. I didn't expect to stay for a pudding but when the menu came I couldn't resist the chocolate and cherry fondant with cream and ice cream, delicious. Some of our party had puddings too, the ginger pudding was to die for and the tart tatin the same. All in all a delicious meal. When I got home I was telling my husband about it, when the awful truth dawned on me that I hadn't paid for it, I rang immediately and was told just drop it in when you are passing, no recimminations at all, Have just put a cheque in the post, and hopefully will be lunching or dining there again soon. Well done to The Plough and staff.

Food was really nice had a main and a desert but can't help feel like I'm in the film "the hills have eyes" and they "don't like stranger round these parts" with the reception we got from the bar staff.

It was such a pleasant evening on Saturday at the Plough Inn. A wide range of choices of starters and main meals being served with four fresh seasonal vegetables cooked to perfection with a rare choice of mashed potatoes as well as chips and boiled. We thoroughly enjoyed our beef bourgignon and chicken in sauce Normande. The vast majority of meals were under £10 and good sized portions so excellent value, as were the homemade desserts at £3.95. The choice of hot and cold puddings was superb. The pannacotta and cheesecake were both lovely. Staff were friendly and service was good, we will definitely return.

Very good food and extraordinary value for money. We went for the two main courses for £12 option - my wife's sea food platter was generous and very well presented - the chips with it had a subtle taste which took me back to my childhood. I went for the faggots and mash - which I can strongly recommend for flavour and richness of the gravy. No space I fear for anything else but the bill including drinks came to £15. I can see why this place is so popular and we were grateful we got there early as we hadn't booked. Would definitely return.

have stopped here a few times now. Great service and food, plenty of it and really good value. Dry white wine is good, and it often isn't in pubs.

Just returned from this amazing old inn and sitting totally replete after another tasty meal. Nobody could fail to be utterly charmed by the owner and staff serving a nice range of home cooked and well presented meals. I rarely give the full five points as the establishment really has to try hard to impress to this extent and the Plough Inn achieves this in buckets. It isn't big and pretentious but just a great village hostelry offering good value for money. No wonder that you have to book to get a table!

Went for fathers day with my family and father in law. Despite having plenty of staff there was simply no organisation. Staff stood doing nothing whilst people sat with empty plates and we tried for ten minutes to get another drink. The food was only average although not over expensive. Two coarses of Sunday lunch took just over 2 hrs. We asked for a desert menu after waiting twenty minutes after the main coarse but was told there were not enough menus and would have to wait for someone to finish with one. No one even took the initiative to tell us the 4 or 5 items for desert. It was so frustrating because it was simple pub grub, nothing more nothing less. Very very disappointed.

My family and I came across the Plough only by virtue of the brown sign from the main road bypassing the village, and I'm so glad we did. They were fully booked up, but let the six of us, plus our old dog, use the conservatory. It was a sunny day, and the chap running the place went out of his way to make sure that the temperature was comfortable for us. He and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The level of service continued the good impression, and then came the puddings! I had ginger cake, with ginger sauce and loads of custard, my wife had a banana split, and the kids had cheese cake. They were all magnificent, with generous portions, and very reasonably priced too.We don't pass that way very frequently I'm afraid, but I can't recommend it highly enough, if you happen to find yourself in need of grub in that area.

Arrived here on the offchance, seeing where our nose took us out on the bike. It was Easter Sunday, so we were only hoping to sneak in for a drink and maybe a sandwich - got there about 11:30, so pretty much first through the door. We were met by a very friendly and helpful Frenchman who I believe is the owner. We were fitted in with no trouble (we were not booked, at almost lunchtime, on what was to be a very busy Sunday) and served promptly. The food, when it came, was hot, well presented, and very, very tasty. The pub was clearly well thought of, and had a large number of obviously regular patrons through the doors, all of whom were friendly. The large volume of customers, however, did not have an adverse effect on the speed of service or the quality of the food. A really nice place, and an excellent little find on a random road trip. Recommended!

We've been to the Plough at Wilsford many times in the past and always found it welcoming. The new landlord and staff however have taken it to up to a superior level. Some refurbishment work has been done with more to follow and has made the surroundings even more comfortable. The whole ambiance is what you would hope for in a country inn and the pleasant owners and attentive staff means that you will seamlessly float through a very enjoyable meal. Nothing is too much trouble and all done with some friendly but unobtrusive banter which makes you feel at home straightaway. The food is of good quality, well prepared and delicious served in a competent and professional manner. Priced very reasonably so that you feel you have very good value for money in cosy surroundings.Book to ensure a space at weekends or just turn up in the week (but you do take pot luck as it will become more popular) and make the journey to this excellent eatery, you'll be glad that you did!

A large party of hungry walkers were well fed and watered. The 2 meals for £12 menu was varied and substantial. We had ordered in advance and the food was speedily served and very tasty. We were already planning a return visit before leaving. Well done to all the staff.

Really cannot rate this pub high enough.3rd visit in 3 weeks as part of a walk.Specials board will cater for almost everyone, and if not the main menu is superb.Had the Aberdeen Angus burger with cheese and bacon. Can honestly say it is the best burger I have ever had. Definitely having that again next week.Great pint of ale at each visit, and seemingly from local breweries.

Tonight was my second visit since the White Hart has changed hands and most certainly won't be my last. There is a lovely warm welcome and ambience to the place that really shows that they care. The food on both visits has been amazing, as has the service. It's definitely worth a try..

I have visited this shop quite a few times and have always found a lady behind the meat counter … an older lady to be a bit brusque ! I was the only one on the shop but she still kept me waiting ! I was served by another lady who was nice. Black longer hair. I bought two steak pies small ones. Good size. Filling nice but the pastry was rock hard !! The lady in the feast cabin was very nice. Had a sausage Sandi h. It was nice. Red hot. It was freezing so was well received
