Lovely atmosphere, dog friendly in the bar area. Food was lovely and staff were kind and welcoming!!

We went for Sunday lunch on 13th August. We had the 2 course menu and it was lovely. Whitebait starter with roasts all round for main. Great portion sizes and nice hot fresh food. Nice beers on tap too. Would recommend.

Fantastic Christmas party dinner. All food was delicious and hot and beautifully served with all the trimmings. As a party of 15 we had pre ordered our meals however, one person was feeling a little unwell and asked to change their starter which was done with no issue. They also packed their desert to go. The service was friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you for a great evening.

We were visiting the area and saw the great reviews for the Ship Inn. It did not disappoint the food was delicious, plentiful and unbelievable value. I had intended trying one of their lovely looking desserts but I was far to full after the beautiful Sunday lunch. I would highly recommend

We called in for lunch whilst our car was being worked on. Very impressed with the food and service. We had a little wait as there was a large party in just before us but the staff were very chatty and helpful whilst we waited. We ordered a main course each and it was freshly cooked and very tasty - and very large portion sizes so we are glad we didn’t order starters. The prices were reasonable as well. We would definitely recommend visiting here for food if you are in the area.

Attended a function here where there were around 100-150 people. Pub was closed for the do. Really nice food provided and. Ice beers and ciders. Staff are nice. Lots of room. Would go again.

First time I've been here & I live within walking distance. The atmosphere was great! Christmas tree, decorations & Christmas music in the background. Lovely aromas coming from the kitchen making us more hungry! First time I have ever had steak pie & it was superb! Light flaky pastry with tender chunks of beef in a rich gravy & an assortment of vegetables. Staff were very attentive & polite. Definitely recommend & will be going regularly from now on.

Great liver, bacon & onions with gravy, mash and seasonal veg - food I can't get at home and all cooked very well. Followed by honeycomb cheese cake! ... And all helped along with a few great real ales on draught at the bar. Great service from the waiting staff too. The others around the table also enjoyed their meals. Highly recommended!

Super meal once again, couldn't have asked for more. Huge portions, fresh veg and homemade chips. Syrup sponge was a delight to end the meal, so light and full of syrup!! Attentive staff, well kept beer and tasty food at a reasonable price.....couldn't better.

My husband, 7-month-old baby boy, and father-in-law visited the Ship Inn for Sunday lunch today. The staff were friendly, the atmosphere was very good, food tasty, and portion sizes were huge! A highchair had already been set up for our baby, and it was a good, sturdy one with a nice big tray. We really enjoyed our meal and will definitely be back soon.

We ended up in this restaurant at lunch time by accident as we were diverted due to a road closure and the grandchildren were hungry. What a great find! The pub is old and maybe in need of an update but the meals were stunning and the service was great and with a smile. Tip: The chips are real potatoes fried to perfection!I can certainly recommend The Ship Inn.

I visited yesterday with my husband and dad who lives local to the Ship Inn, we are 70 miles away. We enjoyed the most amazing Sunday lunch. I had the whitebait which was beautifully cooked, really hot and crispy, my husband said his chicken pate was the best he had eaten in a long time and my dad really enjoyed the garlic mushrooms, they were fresh and drenched in garlic butter.We all had lamb, £1 supplement, but worth every penny. It really was amazing, served with Yorkshire pudding, roast & new potatoes and three fresh vegetables.Couldn’t resist pudding, raspberry sundae, sticky toffee and waffles were all delicious.I cannot rate the food here highly enough. We have paid far more for Sunday lunch and it has been no where near as good as the meal we had yesterday.The two young girls that were serving were delightful, polite, friendly and efficient.Thank you for a wonderful lunch, I know my dad had booked to return on Saturday with my brother and wife and I am sure I will be back next time I visit my dad.

Have been to The Ship Inn many times and have been extremely satisfied with the food and the service both are excellent. Inga and Lee are wonderful hosts nothing is too much bother and they are both very friendly, front of house and the food is excellent.I would highly recommend a visit to The Ship Inn any time.

Good menu with a choice of 3 vegetarian dishes.. I had stuffed peppers and my partner had veg wellington both good and came with a side portion of vegetables.Which is great as most places skimp on vegetables. We hadn't booked so had to wait a little while for the food but well woth waiting for.Very good value for money.Wish it was nearer to where we live.Will definately call again if in the area

Went again to The Ship and is still as good as ever It was busy but they managed to squeeze us in Food and service spot on.

Went for Sunday lunch with family, upon arrival we were made very welcome by the waiting staff, they were very pleasant and very helpful. the restaurant was busy which was a good sign, we ordered the food plenty of choice, the food came with fresh vegetables and plenty of meat, good choice of puddings.I would recommend that you try the Ship Inn you won't regret it, you would be better to book a table because it gets busy.

We have been here about 3 or 4 times now, when we visit friends that live in the village and can honestly say we have left completely satisfied every time. The food is always well cooked, friendly service and very reasonable prices.

I go to this pub with friends infrequently and find this pub the most welcoming and best quality pub in the area. The land lady named Inga at the very end of dinner service was more than happy to serve us no matter how busy the pub was (very busy). We managed to get served short notice in the restaurant and had a brilliant meal. All 12 of our party were very happy with the service and food. We all look forward to visiting again.

Once again the customer service was excellent. The food was superb and arrived quickly. The landlords went above and beyond sorting anything we needed. Would strongly recommend to all in the area. What lovely staff and food.

Been to the Ship for christmas lunch, we have to say it was one of the nicest meals weve had when eating out. Inga and her staff were very friendly nothing is to much trouble.the Food was delicious.

Four of us have been for lunch today, senior special £7.95 two course. It's so good. Steak and ale pie, appledore chicken, treacle sponge, New York cheesecake, apple pie. Custard cream or ice cream. Just absolutely delicious. Only a small selection from the menu. Freshly prepared vegetable assortment. Also eaten a la carte other times with the best steak ever! Inga and Lee are the perfect hosts, nothing is too much trouble, gluten free available even fish and chips with a bit of notice. We won't go anywhere else now, we've been spoiled. Taking all our friends to find out for themselves. You must go and try, I promise you won't be disappointed. The question about tv, there is one in the bar but not restaurant. Who would want one?

I have had the pleasure of eating in this establishment many times and if you are looking for a good meal served in delightfull surroundings, where the staff treat you like decent people then look no further. The delicious food is well prepared and does not cost an arm and a leg. If you are looking for a decent meal where you don't leave feeling like you've been ripped off the the "Ship" is the place to eat.

We have visited this pub for lunch on several occasions now and every time the food has been outstanding. I have given a rating of 5/5 but in reality the experience merits a 6. My wife chose Steak and Kidney Pie yesterday and spent the whole meal enthusing over the taste and quality of it. Most of it passed me by as I savoured every tasty morsel of my Mushroom Stroganoff. We chose from the pensioners menu which offers exceptional value at £7.50 for two courses. The staff are always welcoming and friendly, and the service is excellent. I recommend this pub to anyone and everyone, indeed if we lived closer than 80 miles away we would probably never cook another Sunday Lunch but come here instead. We would certainly come every week. A fabulous unassuming village pub, great staff, great food and great value for money. Thank you to every one at the Ship.

four of us decided to go out for a meal from Tattershall Bridge Friday night arrived around 7pm and the place was busy - no worries though the charming barmaid found us a table and menus arrived promptly. We were told there would be a wait for food but we were chatting and drinking, we all had something different and it was all exceptional my hunters chicken melt in the mouth and the gammon steak was perfect. The home cut chips topped it all off, only problem no room for pub.... next time for sure

Had a family meal last night, it was superb! great selection from the menu, my wife requires gluten free and they accommodated her really well. Waitress and bar staff are really pleasant. The bar is just as a tradional village pub used to be with locals enjoying themselves, the restaurant is separate and nicely decorated and clean. Above all it is great value. We will definitely be going again!

Visited here last week on a short break with our three young children. The staff couldn’t do enough for us... they even got toys out for the kids! The food was lovely. They don’t do a kids menu but they offer smaller meals for the kids. Reasonably priced, friendly staff and a lovely quirky place. Thank you - if we are ever in the area again, we will definitely be back!

Visited today for lunch and what amazing food we had. The cheesecake for pud was delicious. Brilliant service and excellent price for seniors 2 course menu. Lovely little dining room. My friend had a pint John Smiths which he said was excellent too.

Second visit to this amazingly good establishment, the food is home cooked, we had the seniors menu, 2 course for £7.95. I had peppered pork loin followed by mascapone cheese cake,it was first class, cannot wait to go again.

Visited for first time on Saturday night, after being served with drinks we were shown to our table in the dining room. The waitresses were both very pleasant and gave good service. We didn't order starters but while we were waiting for our mains a basket of warm bread with butter appeared on our table, very nice touch! All four of our meals were very tasty, freshly cooked and good portion sizes. Desserts were also very good. Will definitely be returning.

We arranged to meet here with friends quite by chance as it was equidistant from our home locations - how pleased were are that we did. We were greeted by the very friendly bar staff and after ordering drinks we were shown through to the restaurant area.What a splendid feast!There were plenty of good choices on the menu and all at very reasonable prices. The portions were substantial and of good quality, hot and well presented. Judging by the comments from other tables everybody seemed well pleased by the food and service. I'm sure that this will climb in stature from strength to strength as more discerning customers become aware of the quality.This is a traditional village inn but with a great atmosphere and attitude. We shall certainly be back in the very near future. Well done to The Ship Inn and it's well deserving and attentive staff.

Having recently moved into Billinghay, my wife and I decided to have our first Saturday night out at the Ship Inn which is situated in the village.We had reserved a table in the restaurant and on arrival we were met by a friendly lady and chose to have a drink at our table. The bar and the restaurant are excellent and appropriate for the old age of the building, very clean with lots of character.The restaurant was very busy but the service throughout was very efficient and at no time did we feel we were being hurried.My wife and I both had a 2 course meal with wine and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. Suffice it to say that prior to leaving we reserved a table for ourselves and family for their first visit to Billinghay at the end of this month.

This is the first time we have been here and was very hungry. The meals were super. I and my sister in law had fish and chips with mushy peas and my wife had Cajun chicken with salsa and chips. We had two wines and one pint of beer and it was £38. Great value with great service.

My wife and i live near Kings Lynn, Norfolk.Whenever i visit my 96 year old mum we eat at the Ship, Billinghay.We where greeted with a friendly smile from the landlady and waitress and as always I noticed fresh flowers on every table. There was no waiting to order. I had garlic mushrooms for starters, my wife had pate. I had the haddock for mains, my wife and mum had a chicken dish, all were perfectly cooked. I had syrup sponge for desert and mum had ice cream. This was a fantastic experience and I cant wait to return.

Recommended to try this pub restaurant, so arranged to meet some friends for a catch up - from the start the staff were cheerful, polite and attentive - after having a drink in the bar first, which has a typical rural pub setting with real ales and relaxed atmosphere - the restaurant and service were excellent and the restaurant was very busy but the waitress explained we could sit anywhere we felt comfortable and after advising us of the specials looked after us superbly - the menu was varied and the food was superb - I had the burger which was top quality with home made coleslaw and chips, my wife and friends also had an excellent meal - we were the last in the restaurant and as we were sat comfortably, asked if we needed to go back into the pub for another drink, but the waitress said we could stay there and put on some music for us - a top night with high quality food and service - we will be back

I live in Norfolk and always take my 96 year old mum for lunch to the Ship Inn, Billinghay when I visit her. I always get a very friendly reception from the owner and staff with flowers on each table in the dining room. Magnificent reasonably priced menu to suit all tastes, including vegetarian, cooked to perfection. This restaurant deserves more credit than I could possibly give it and I look forward to my next visit .

Sunday lunch for 3. Roast beef fantastic, so tender and large portions to boot. 3 courses for each of us plus drinks. Just over £50!! Cannot get better than that. Will definitely go back again. Oh and thanks to the staff - they are wonderful

Booked table for 6pm on Saturday, On arrival we were shown to our table in the Restaurant. Friendly staff , reasonably priced menu ( also available on line) with enough choices for everyone, and a daily special. Meals came out together and were very nice. We will return again.

After a morning in Lincoln we were heading to Tattersall Castle and were looking for a place to have Sunday lunch when we came across the Ship Inn. We were asked to wait a few minutes in the bar but a table was soon ready. My husband chose the roast pork and my daughter and myself had the turkey. Meals soon came, plenty of meat which was lovely tasting. Roast and new potatoes and stuffing and Yorkshire puddings were on the plate and the vegetables came along separately. Meat and all vegetables were lovely tasty and not over cooked. Yorkshires and stuffing my husband and daughter said were good, I didn't have any as am gluten free. Only downside no GF pudding option available, so opted for ice cream but felt that at £3.95 for a bar glass of ice cream it was very overpriced. Others had chocolate brownie with custard which they both enjoyed. A good find and would return if out that way again. Would have been 5star if more GF options. Staff all very pleasant and friendly.

Another visit to this wonderful pub, what can I say? Well the standard if anything has improved and that's saying something as standards were high in the first place! I ordered the Lamb my wife the beef, so to the Lamb succulent done to perfection just ask landlord in advance as it goes quickly but I understand why a masterpiece on a plate thanks, wife liked the beef lots! But order Lamb trust me Lamb is awesome. Pudding super (but no Lamb lol)

Really nice food and welcoming staff. We both had beef and it was lovely. Tend to go here once a month but this was the first Sunday roast. Generally speaking this area of Lincolnshire is hard to find a decent place to eat but this is definitely one of them!!

I go to the Ship Inn quite regularly as i visit my Mum who lives in the village and always go out for lunch . The food is great, service is fantastic and friendly, in fact faultless.I would recommend this pub for a good experience, which is very rare as in Lincolnshire generally the restaurants leave a lot to be desired .

We were staying in a cottage quite close to Billinghay. I enquired via messenger if they could accommodate a booking for twelve. Within minutes they had emailed me a menu. We booked and we're not disappointed. All meals were fabulous and excellent value for money. We were well looked after with smiles and excellent service. We could not ask for any more. Ps. Firstly (and to reassure those reading a review below) I am neither family or employee of The Ship. The pub offered great service and very good pub grub a ham egg and chips and a burger and chips. In sum, if you want good beer and excellent pub food at a reasonable price you can't beat The Ship

Great Sunday roast, served with all the trimmings. Very generous portions and very friendly helpful staff. Our two year old daughter loved her cheese sandwich and the staff brought out a little bowl of her favourite boiled carrots (just for her!).

We've been here several times now. The chef is obviously well trained and can reproduce almost the whole menu in gluten-free versions. Imagine it - gluten free fish and chips! Apart from that, staff are friendly and helpful and the prices are very reasonable. A great place to have discovered, and a place to return to frequently.

We met by a friendly face, had a drink in the bar then were taken to the dinning room. One of our party was gluten free but that was not a problem.We had, a prawn cocktail, garlic mushrooms and two breaded white bait. We were a little dissapointed with the white bait but we have just come back from Crete where we ate a lot of fresh fish. Mains, two steak kidney pie, both guys said how tasty this was. One steak, medium rare. Well cooked and tender. One lamb shank which fell off the bone. Fresh cooked veg, a little over done for me, but that's a personal choice. Sadly we were to stuffed to try deserts but those going past our table looked inviting. The house Shiraz was Fab, and very good value.

We were staying nearby and someone suggested this place...Ignore the google earth photos, This place and its staff were all magic, even the locals were friendly not a spear in sight, warm welcome and probably the best food we have have ever eaten out....My compliments to the chef and all the staff of a wonderful eatery and pub...So good we went back the following night *****.
