So disappointed with the service since they moved to kelmarsh! I’ve been a few times and the owner lady always seems so stressed and short with customers and sometimes staff! She doesn’t look as happy as she used to be at there other tea room. Today I simply asked for a slice of cheese to have with a cheese scone, and she stated they were far too busy with orders to cut cheese. I could have some grated cheese!! Apparently too busy and no work top space to cut cheese. I didn’t want grated cheese, especially if it’s pre packed , I just wanted a little slice of cheese! I don’t think that was too much to ask. I ended up having a fruit scone. She wasn’t bothered that I was disappointed. In the queue I heard her tell another customer they were too busy to do something for the customer, I didn’t hear what the request was. Surely with in reason we can ask for simple requests. The selection isn’t as good as it used to be at the old tea room. Nor is the service.

The nicest cafe in the area! Superb coffee with lovely syrups to choose from. Hazelnut is my favourite. Lovely cakes and pastries and amazing staff. Highly recommend from both me and my bro 👍

Love this place and the people who work here. Whenever I’m in the area I always make time to pop in for breakfast or a coffee. I cannot think of anywhere better in the area if you want good quality food and drink.

Discovered this place today and what a nice find! Good food, well cooked, reasonable prices and, best of all, very helpful and friendly staff that all work voluntarily. Will be sure to visit again.

I do like it when we find a new café that offers good value, quality food. Although part of the retreat, the café is open to the public. The menu has the usual café treats in large variety. I went for the Brie, cranberry and bacon panni. It arrived in short order, was flavoursome & hot and accompanied by home-made slaw and crispy fresh salad. Extremely tasty. The servers were polite and efficient as you'd expect. Prices are very reasonable for the quality of food and service. Pop in if you are walking in the area, you won't be disappointed.

We had a fantastic Saturday lunch at The Old Oak and couldn’t be more impressed. The food was absolutely delicious—proper home-cooked fare with generous portions and loads of flavor. You can really tell everything is made fresh, with care and attention. A special mention has to go to the lovely waitress who looked after us—she was one of the nicest girls we’ve ever met. Friendly, attentive, and just genuinely lovely, she made the whole experience even better. Prices were very reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food and service. And if you’ve got little ones, the garden is a real bonus. There’s a great outdoor space with a climbing frame that kept the kids entertained while we relaxed and enjoyed a drink in the sunshine. All in all, a brilliant spot for a relaxed, family-friendly meal. We’ll definitely be coming back!

We stumbled upon this pub by chance whilst doing a circular walk from Foxton Locks and are so glad we did so. The staff were welcoming; there was good beer on tap (or so my husband informed me!); and there was an excellent selection of reasonable priced lunch items (including gf options) on the menu. We had some sandwiches which came with fresh salad and delicious crispy chips - all the other food looked delicious. We will definitely be returning.

Visited on Saturday 17th May with a friend & my well behaved dog for elevenses. Made very welcome in the dog friendly area with a nice table and comfy chairs. Excellent coffee but a very poor choice of cakes. Just banana cake and brownies and luckily delicious scones, which we chose. My friend and I had looked forward to a lovely slice of something such as Victoria sponge or coffee cake or lemon drizzle. We were very disappointed. The service was very good and friendly.

Booked this at the last minute and we were not disappointed. Lovely setting, fabulous freindly service. Enjoyed the moctails. The set menu was delicious, divine chicken parfait and soup starters and they provided a selection of tasty artisan breads for my son. This was followed by sumptuous roasts and scampi for my little one and finished with one of the most exquisite black cherry trifles I've ever tasted, please keep that on the menu! Hoping to return easter weekend if lunch is on!
