Lovely pub with a nice atmosphere. Food & drinks very reasonable. Food very tasty, nice to find a pub with good wholesome food, and not a gastro-pub.

Pleasant and unexpected stop due to sudden need for a coffee by a friend. Any 'shires' pub with old architecture and lush greenery growing over at least half of the structure is attractive anyway, so that's a win. The fact that outdoor seating at the rear was accented by welcome appearance of the Sun made a quick stop last for over an hour and while chatting lazily, other midweek punters also rolled in and out of the cosy interior to soak up the flowers and foliage of the rear garden and undercover area. Atmosphere was spot on. Overall score.... well, I'll be going there again with my partner on our next sunny day off.

An impulse lunch for three. Two had scampi, which they said was good, with plenty of salad; the third (me) had a burger, which somehow didn't quite make it. The puddings redeemed that, especially the raspberry Eton mess. Service was friendly and we were not in a rush. The beer was rather anonymous, but overall the Crown is excellent value.

You must visit if passing, we stopped off for lunch, and it was amazing from start to finish, the staff are lovely. Will be back again in a couple of days.

A lovely Sunday lunch. Everything was perfect, well cooked and tasty meat, beef, turkey and pork, so a good range between our party. The veg were spot on and good to see cauliflower and leek au gratin, a welcome edition to the usual veg. Starters were equally good, prawn cocktails, home made soup and chicken liver pate with melba toast. Cannot comment on the puddings as we had eaten to well to make room for one! Friendly service and plenty of room between tables as I said before a perfect Sunday lunch.

This was the best ever meal there. They have always been good but this was exceptional. All our party thought the same. It was good value. The waitresses were very helpful, brought extra gravy and condiments and worked hard

The staff and service were good, despite the fact that there were only two waitresses for a very busy Christmas lunch day. Everything else was poor, to be avoided. The tomato soup was far too salty. The so called nut roast was a flaccid, insipid disappointment, especially since it had been something special in previous years. The vegetables were acceptable but a request for more for our table, which had extra people on it, fell on deaf ears. My friend's coffee was cold. Our critical comments appeared to fall on deaf ears. Keeping the prices low but serving poor food seems a very questionable choice

Booked a Christmas Lunch here today with friends, I wasn't sure what to expect as we hadn't been here for years. The food was gorgous, hot and portions great, presentation was marvellous. Great price too! The service was excellent, the staff worked so hard, as it was very busy. But they were courteous cheerful and amazing. The whole restaurant and pub were decorated lovely for Christmas 🎄 such a warm welcoming atmosphere. Thank you for a lovely afternoon. We will definitely be back again very soon.

Just led a walking group of 25 from here, they opened up early so we could pre order lunch and use the toilets. Got back just before 1 pm and within 10 minutes all the food was ready to be served. Excellent food and service and all the staff couldn’t have been more helpful. Recommend

Sunday lunch at the Crown was a wonderful experience. Although very busy the staff were attentive and efficient. Roast beef dinner was on the table within 10 minutes of our arrival and it was absolutely delicious - followed by equally excellent deserts. Great value and great quality. If you are in the area I would definitely recommend a visit.

Great time. Top barmaid - Zoe. Nice beer and good ambiance. Service with a smile plus good banter. Shall return asap but only when it’s her shift.

Staff were lovely and attentive. All meals apart from mine were well received. I had ordered a steak and ale pie but what arrived was a pot of stew with a puff pastry top that went to dust when I touched it with a knife! This is not a pie and needs changing on the menu please! Twix cheesecake was fab so that saved the day for me

The staff are brilliant. The coke from tap is absolutely disgusting.. Its bitter and dirty. Gravy is also stringy in texture and clots on the plate. I imagine they have better dishes however. Lovely place despite a few minor problems.

Beautiful village pub Visited on a busy Sunday, despite this we were acknowledged straight away and served soon after. The food looked great however we were tempted into the garden for a pint or two

Was not impressed with the food, pie had shop bought insipid pastry on top , chips were hard in the middle , looked like they had been cooked in the microwave, not pleasant, vegetables were awful couldn't eat them. Only good thing about our visit was the staff were absolutely lovely. Definitely wont be going there again.

Had the most perfect lunch best fish and chips ever other 3 in party also pleased. Service was first class as always lovely mannered waitress credit to the establishment well done Trev and Sharon aways a pleasure to eat here.

We booked dinner at the restaurant for 6 people. This restaurant used to be excellent. Their carvery on Sundays was the best around. 3 steaks were ordered all med rare. One rump that came in two small thin pieces, was very overcooked and we couldn’t even cut it. 2 ribeyes, both poor quality cuts ( I have to question the cut)! One was returned but the kitchen refused to take it back saying there was nothing wrong with it. The edges were edible but most of it tough and inedible. They would not allow the customer to pay for an upgrade of a fillet to replace it. The chef said there was nothing wrong with the rib-eye, therefore wanting another full dinner payment for the upgrade steak. How did the chef know if he didn’t try it??? We are from Canada, these steaks and the cook on them would never have made it out of the kitchen over there, if they had they would have been removed from the bill with a replacement offer, very poor customer service! ! The other meals ordered were good.

Lovely great food and a friendly welcome

My husband and I were passing and decided to call in late on Easter Sunday afternoon. We hadn’t booked but luckily they had a cancellation so managed to fit us in. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal, garlic mushrooms/roast beef/eton mess & pork loin/sticky toffee pudding. The restaurant was very spacious and was very nicely furnished. One thing that particularly stood out for us was the service, this place really does run like clockwork, so efficient and everyone organised and knowing what they are doing. Definitely recommended, booking advised.

Went for Sunday roast. Absolutely excellent. The quality of the food was outstanding and the portions very generous. This coupled with the great service from the staff makes for a brilliant meal.

We booked to go with friends great staff lovely food as usual always a pleasure to eat here the place is looking great.

The crown hosted our anniversary party allowing us to have exclusive use of the back rooms. We had 70 people attend for a catered BBQ. The guests commented how nice the food was and how friendly the staff were. Nothing was too much trouble and we would definitely use this venue again in the future. Thank you helping to make our party a success!

What a shame. Always raved about this place. Usually great food, lovely staff and fantastic value. Sadly, on a recent visit we had occasion to comment that we weren't happy with one plate of food. We waited for the bill and commented when it arrived having had no acknowledgement that we were not happy let alone an apology, that we didn't feel it was right to ask us to pay full price for that one meal. To say I am horrified with the response is an understatement. The chef rushed over to the table and started shouting at us! When we said we were unhappy paying for that part of the meal she threatened to call the police. The owner then came over and told us that no-one else had complained and that he 'couldn't understand' how that one meal could be wrong. I am utterly stunned that anyone working in a service environment would treat customers so appallingly and aggressively. An apology would have been all it took for us to put it down as a one off experience. To be fair, the owner did eventually, begrudgingly offer us his apologies but not before we had been publicly humiliated in the middle of their restaurant. I am sure a visit here remains fine as long as you never comment that you are dissatisfied. The experience has left nearly as bad a taste as some of the food on this visit

Went for a meal for the first and LAST visit had cause to send an undercooked burger back which came back alright but the chips were inedible. When we asked for the bill we asked if there was a reduction because it was not a satisfactory meal next minute the chef came out yelling the odds saying that the burger had been eaten and no one else had complained about the chips and if we didn't pay for the food she was going to call the police. All we wanted was someone to acknowledge our complaint without shouting at us and when the owner arrived he said nobody else had made any comments but did begrudgingly apologize eventually but the staff were really nice shame about the management

Four of us went for lunch they had no pies that was on the menu so three of us had fish & chips that was very poor one was sent back

Just had Sunday lunch here and although the meats and fresh veg were nice the potatoes and roast parsnips were like rocks! You couldn’t cut them at all, so won’t be going back Sorry!!

Great place to pull over for a pint after a hard days ride

The Crown was centrally situated for a lunchtime meeting of three couples each travelling from different directions.The Restaurant was spacious bright and airy and tables were well distances from each other. Covid precautions were excellent.The menu was based on honest pub favourites and was well cooked and presented. Portions were generous and prices were very fair. Service was very good. We will be back

Beautiful food, great service, staff welcoming, polite, could not fault it, the place is lovely, toilets clean.

Had a family meal here today, it was a limited Sunday menu with the standard meats plus a nut roast option. We all ordered our meals starters we had which was garlic mushrooms were very tasty, for mains my husband and daughter ordered the beef and they said it was lovely, for the main I ordered the Turkey without any gravy. The family next to us (which was with us but couldn’t sit with us for COVID restrictions reasons) ordered 2 Turkey without gravy also. But when the mains came out to us they said they had gravy on! We all said no ours were without gravy. Well after both the waiter and waitress looking at each baffled they took them away again then followed by 2 without any gravy. Then the waiter came back over to me putting the plate down in front of me and told me “you’ll have to eat it with gravy”. What!!!! I was absolutely gobsmacked I said I can’t eat it with gravy. His reply was “can’t you, I’ll tell my manager”. Another waitress came over bringing drinks told me they were making a fresh one for me. It came after a few minutes without any gravy nothing was said just put down and walked off, made me feel rather uncomfortable. I felt it could of been handled so differently, get a new one, apology, job done! Anyway onto puddings my husband had a smartie cheesecake which he said was lovely, my daughter had a chocolate fudge cake and ice cream which she gobbled down in seconds and I had the Eton mess which was very nice. Apart from the obvious it was a nice meal but that behaviour has really put me off going back.

Today I just wanted some nice pub food for me, my husband and cousin. The Crown fitted the bill perfectly. The surroundings are very spruced up, tables are spaced far apart enough to feel really safe, and the food was delicious. 3 mains and 3 drinks was £32, excellent value.

Went their for meal with friend's what a pleasant surprise the whole pub had been transformed inside all repainted and new carpets throughout the meal was second to none perfect the service was excellent really great place well done Trev and family great.

Good food had lovely afternoon good atmosphere

Went for Sunday dinner yesterday, first meal out since lockdown. We all felt very safe with Covid guild lines being followed by everyone. The staff are always very friendly, efficient and helpful. The food as always was amazing! We have never had a bad experience at The Crown, would definitely recommend to families and couples. There is a lovely garden and kids play area. One of the few places left in Leicestershire that fully welcome dogs. Never feel rushed here, staff always have time to stop and say hello.

Always a great place to go for Sunday buffet lunch but discovered very good value weekday (incl Saturdays) lunches. Great price and very good quality.

We have dined at The Crown Tur Langton on many occasions during the last few years. What I can and must say is the quality of both food and service always remains at a very high standard. We always look forward to visiting and are never disappointed. Thank you to all staff. Highly recommended.

I came to this wonderful pub on the invite of my mum for a mid week Carvery, OMG this has to be the best carvery I have ever had !!! The carver was plentiful with the meat, moving on to the vegetables and potatoes again great selection constantly topped up and very fresh. It is my birthday in January I shall be making a return visit with my family and probably again with some of my friends.

Disappointed with food but service pleasant

Venue beautiful. Staff lovely. Food nicely cooked. Only complaint:- lunch time menu is poor. Have a shake up and put a good variation of dishes on at lunch and you will have the perfect eatery.

We took the family of 16 out for Sunday carvery everything according went to plan food and service second to none thanks to Trev and staff for a memorable time.
