Fantastic coffee, friendly owner, great atmosphere and good pastries. The place has a steady stream of regulars, who the owner knows by name. All in all, the perfect neighbourhood coffee shop.

Absolutely first-class stay as usual. If you're mountain biking in the Dales this is a must. Stu and Brenda run an excellent cafe, bunkhouse accommodation and bike shop. Everything you need if you're biking through: laundry, dry room, bike servicing (I got my gears indexed by Ben), tons of incredible cake, lovely breakfast, friendly chat and all in the most heavenly location. I wish I lived nearer! The biking from the door is absolutely awesome too. Try the lung busting climb up onto High Fremington!

This cafe was so lovely! From the beautiful decor to the fab service, me and my mum were so impressed! We were both served quickly- we had toasties and a hot drink each, which tasted delicious, and the plates that the food was served on had a lovely flowery design. Also, the toilets were clean and nicely decorated.

Absolutely fantastic place for food and/or coffee. This place is run by WONDERFUL staff. The chef has a real passion for food. The Saturday night foraging menus are something to write home about. We enjoyed every single bite- Thank you

I am a regular customer here and I love it. The owners are excellent and always willing to help with any questions and queries you may have. The essentials are all there as well if you are looking to join in on one of their amazing events, with cardmats, packs, sleeves, decks and deck boxes. A must try if you are a fan of boardgames, table tops games and/or cards games.

I can't praise this Cafe highly enough. Right from our first visit, the service has been excellent and the staff very, very friendly. The food is always delicious and excellent value. The Cafe also has such a warm, friendly and welcoming atmosphere that it has now become a regular place for my wife and I to go for a tasty breakfast or an afternoon snack, relax, and also get to meet other locals. But don't think twice if you're not a local but just visiting the area, the staff are such lovely people they will make you feel so welcome. And, very important for us, it's dog friendly.

I was looking for somewhere different to take my hubby for breakfast and stumbled across the canal boat cafe. It was easy to book a table online. We went for a nice walk along the canal and built up an appetite first. The boat itself was quite chilly and you could see your breath in the air. We were wrapped up from our walk anyway, so this was not an issue. The interior is clean and comfortable and I liked the little touch of Rosie and Jim sat at the back. They have a large breakfast menu, including veggie and vegan options. We ordered 2 regular breakfasts at £10.95 each. They also do mini breakfasts and jumbo breakfasts. The food came in good time and there was plenty of it. My hubby enjoyed his, with his only gripe being he would've preferred his toast slightly more toasted rather than just "warm bread". Personally I thought 2 slices of toast was the standard for this sized breakfast, but we only got one, which I would normally say would be fair with a small breakfast. The most disappointing thing, though, was the hair I found in my breakfast, This didn't put me off finishing the breakfast, which was a nice breakfast, but my hubby did point this out to a member of staff, who to be fair, was very apologetic and offered us a free breakfast, which we didn't want. We just wanted them to be aware. This wouldn't put us off returning in the future, but I know it would be a major no-no for others. They also do a lunch menu and the prices here are very reasonable. They are dog-friendly too and there is plenty of outdoor seating, so I can imagine this gets busy very quickly in the summer. Boat trips are also offered and, again, at very reasonable prices. Overall it was a nice way to spend a morning out together.

This was our first visit to Serving Thyme and we’ll certainly return to the café. Next time we’ll include a visit the shop and garden sales area, which looked very tempting. The food was tasty and the staff were welcoming. Tables were cleared quickly and there was even someone hovering near the door to open it for customers. The man tending the plants was knowledgable and took great pride in his work. This meant the reasonably priced winter bedding plants were in great condition. Serving Thyme is an unusual concept which definitely seems to work. Worth a visit and even a detour.
