Tried it for the first time today. Started with decaf Americano and coffee cake for a late elevenses, soon followed up with an early lunch consisting of their soup of the day with a warm cheese scone and lots of butter, and a second decaf Americano. Everything was excellent!
Really enjoyed this fantastic restaurant. The staff were warm and friendly with good knowledge of the food and wine. The wine recommendation was perfect with the Chateaubriand steak. They were lovely to our older dog and we enjoyed eating in this restaurant two evenings on our short visit to Robin Hood’s Bay.

Came here as a group of 4 before our bottomless brunch. The place was very inviting. And so was the coffee. I would also highly recommend the bagel. Great spot.
This place is a slice of perfection that delivered a 5 star experience across the board. Friendly and helpful staff greeted us and sat us down. The ambience and the decor is so warm and inviting but whilst it is a bit posh and a bit fancy, it has a sense of fun about it as well. I felt special without feeling uncomfortable. My wife and I were in for Sunday Lunch and I have to tell you, I was really hungry! When our mains arrived I was impressed with the look and variety of items on the plate and there was plenty of it. The Lamb was beautiful and every element on the plate was perfect individually but when it all came together it was mind blowing food. I had lamb, my wife had beef and they came with all the trimmings you would expect including cauliflower cheese on the side. The buttery veg and the sweet puree really gelled the whole dish together.
For dessert we opted for a posset which was classically simple and delicious and super light which was very welcome after helping to finish my wife's main! She had the key lime pie and we had fun trying to guess the ingredients in the base, there were complex flavours in there that we just weren't sure of, that worked really well together. So we will have to go back and try again soon! 10 out of 10, the experience and the food was superb, I can't praise The Hartley Arms highly enough.
A nice little coffee/tea shop in the town centre offering delicious cakes and scones. Coffee was really tasty, but very slow to serve. Polite guys managing seating area. Dog friendly.
What a surprise to find Magee Street Bakery. Recommended by the folk at Crockett & Jones shoes (just down the street) I have returned each time I go to Northampton. Good coffee and a great sandwich. I wish we had a place like this near us (in South East London). Really, really, good and a total surprise to find tucked away in a back street of Northampton.
What a little gem! A small unassuming cafe where the food is fabulous, the guy cooking it is so friendly, the cakes are just superb and you can buy a frozen beautifully cooked meal to take home with you too! I can't praise this enough!
The atmosphere was relaxed and the decor dark and sultry. The lounge area for drinks afterwards was perfect for us. The taster food was delicious. We all enjoyed every mouthful. The two different pudding were delicious. The wines were interesting. Personally I preferred sticking to a red throughout. The bit I would change was the fact we had to keep our cutlery for every course. For the price of the food and drinks ( Our bill was over £700 for two couples) and the ambience it was unpleasant to reuse them for totally different courses. ( there was a choice to change them but this would have been a request rather than the norm. ) Overall the experience was excellent and the service was amazing. We will be back.
Fantastic venue, my wife and I loved it, food was plentiful and tasty. Wine was fairly priced and had a good selection. We enjoyed the cheese and onion pie, cote dw boeuf and cocktails, old fashioned is highly recommended
Myself and Mum always finish our afternoon in Ilkley at this very friendly cafe before catching a train home. It's a great place for coffee and cake. We like the Love tray bake slices and brownies and tiffin. The cafe staff all have great customer service skills and a sense of humour and have gone the extra mile regularly for customers. Ilkley has great independent cafes like this that needs supporting rather than Greg's Costa and Cafe Nero that you can get in any town. Always a pleasure to visit this cafe
The Salt House has great cocktails, and great nibbles. We had a taste of Spain board and it was delish, great for sharing. The staff are brilliant and the atmosphere has a buzz. And dog friendly.
