Friendly service, and high quality food freshly prepared! Can highly recommend avocados on toast, but for me lasagne and salad takes the gold star award! Not many establishments can make such an interesting and tasty salad!

My husband and I went for afternoon tea. We are trying to do a bit of a comparison of local places which do afternoon tea-fancy ourselves as restaurant critics! Ponti rates as one of the best. Staff are really friendly and attentive. The food is all freshly prepared and absolutely delicious. We got 3 rounds of sandwiches between us which I had chosen on booking-all very tasty. I had given a couple of special requests which were perfectly followed. The sausage rolls and quiche were yummy as were all the cakes and the jam and cream scone. I must especially comment on the lemon meringue blondie which was heavenly. There was also crisps, strawberries and plenty of salad leaves. All was beautifully presented. We got a lovely big pot of tea which was refillable. All in all this was a wonderful afternoon tea experience and we will definitely be going back to sample some of the other things on the menu.

I absolutely love this cafe. The food is gorgeous, for me particularly the lasagne. It's the best I've had which is served with a simple salad finished off with a home made dressing. Highly recommend. All of the staff that work here are so lovely and have such fantastic customer service. You will be spolt for choice with deserts as they are fab! So get yourself there!

Such a great place to come on Newland avenue. Nice coffee, better food and even better desserts. The home made brownies are the best I've ever tried. The grilled paninis are my favourite main, try the ones with pesto.

I don't really tend to review, but I had been to Ponti a few times pre covid for coffee and breakfast, each time saw delicious food and coffee, excellent customer service and front of house in a lovely setting During covid I have used the website to order brownie trays for family birthdays and will continue to do so- it's becoming a new tradition! Ordering was simple, and communication excellent. I had delivery service which was friendly and punctual (distanced of course) and everyone has loved the brownies- they are honestly the best brownies I have ever eaten. Well done and thank you Ponti, and I hope to be coming to see you again soon for more of the same.

I'm based in Manchester but my daughter lives in Hull with her boyfriend and last Friday was her 24th birthday, the first she was not able to spend with us.  I found Ponti whilst trying to find somewhere to deliver a surprise afternoon tea and I was so glad I did.  Sadie was amazing and super helpful.  I explained my situation, she organised a beautiful Daughter card to be delivered with it and as weird as it sounds made me feel in some way she would look after my request as a 'mum' and make it special for me.  My daughter was overjoyed with her delivery and spent the afternoon sending me various pictures of the delicacies she received saying each one was more tasty than the last.  Thank you Ponti and in particularly Sadie for helping me make my daughters birthday special from afar 

Ordered & collected a share brownie for my sons 7th birthday this weekend and it was absolutely delicious, by far the best brownie we’ve had. Such fantastic value for money & a great alternative to the usual boring supermarket cakes. Would highly recommend and will definitely be purchasing again for the rest of the family birthdays x

I had afternoon tea delivered as a surprise for my wife's birthday. The food arrived right on time and was absolutely amazing! The selection was very good too, with sausage rolls, quiche, sandwiches, scones, lemon cake and crunchie brownies. Would absolutely recommend!

My husband ordered us an afternoon tea for two for my birthday and it was absolutely delicious. The sandwich fillings were great, the sausage rolls the best I've ever tasted and the cakes were mouthwateringly tasty. Not only was everything done to perfection but it was delivered on time to our house and presented stunningly (not with cake stand on picture but in a beautiful box) It was a perfect addition to my birthday and I definitely will be ordering again.

Had takeaway afternoon tea and 2 children’s boxes and they were both absolutely delicious. Great selection, fresh and good portion size. Communication when ordering was excellent and they accommodated preferences for the children’s selection which when down a treat with the little ones 😋 👍🏻 Will definitely order again and highly recommend

I am a frequent visitor at ponti Italian cafe and can say that it never disappoints, the afternoon tea is always fresh and the deserts are just perfection. We have just had the Valentine’s Day tea and it was the best ever!. I ordered for my friend for her birthday and she was absolutely thrilled especially with the brownie! Can’t wait to book in for my 40th In May 🤞 for a I’m house afternoon tea with friends covid permitted! If not just another special delivery! Thank you Sadie and team xxx

Cannot go to my favourite eating place Ponti , due to COVID restrictions in place but found out they do pick up or delivery, Wow , was so excited have been regularly ordering my favourite food sometimes pick up some times delivery , my favourite at the minute is afternoon tea which is a fantastic assortment of sweet and savoury, all freshly made to order and tastes fantastic and so very reasonably priced , lovely friendly owners that cannot do enough for you , nothing is too much trouble , they are doing a fantastic deal on valentines afternoon tea and with a little extra can have a lovely bottle of wine to go with it , I know I will be ordering mine .

Walked past this place hundreds of times but popped in for lunch today on a whim. Will be a regular here for sure. I ordered the baked eggs brunch and it was amazing. Great staff and the place was immaculately clean.

Covid restrictions in place, table service , face masks , hand sanitiser made us feel comfortable and safe tables were spaced out following the guidelines . Staff was really caring making sure we had everything. A good selection of food to very high quality as always , excellent variety of sandwiches and cakes more then enough great value for money . In these current times with covid19 the atmosphere was very friendly and welcoming but it alway is. Recommend to everybody

Ordered the afternoon tea for my birthday at the end of July, sat in the garden on a sunny day.Could not fault anything,delicious quiche and sandwiches and beautiful cakes. Don’t usually like brownie but theirs was really tasty. Will certainly be either ordering again or eating in very soon. Thank you Ponti.

I ordered the afternoon tea for a small baby shower I held for a family member. The lady I held the baby shower for had numerous foods she was avoiding and the lady I spoke with (Sadie) could not do enough to help meet my requirements.When the delivery was made the presentation was beautiful with a brilliant mixture of different breads and filling for the sandwiches.Delicious scones with a generous helping of jam and cream.Finished off with a mixture of cakes including one of (if not the best) chocolate brownie I have ever had. I will definetly be ordering from Ponti time and time again.

Popped in for breakfast delicious as ever squeezed a piece of raspberry oat flapjack in . amazing , bought two pieces to take home, wonderful tasty coffee , as always staff polite, friendly and helpful , a nice calming atmosphere and you can have a laugh and joke with the staff.

Have been to ponti many times but seems to have gone downhill over the past year, breakfast sandwich not very nice, lunch time sandwiches still very nice, coffee temperature too cold, staff still very pleasant but on the whole very average they need to up their game as a lot of nicer places to go on Newland.

Nice little place to stop for a drink or grab a little something to eat. The staff were friendly and there is a nice quiet atmosphere here. I was tempted not to leave a review as I thought sharing this gem of a place with the world would be a huge own goal as its such a well kept secret. However just like a man of the match in football it deserves all the praise it gets.

I was introduced to Ponti today and I have to say it was excellent. A warm greeting from Sadie and a really nice atmosphere. I had the chocolate brownie on the recommendation of a local gentleman, as they said it was the best in Hull. It was the best I have ever tasted and worth the journey from Cambridge.

Owners and staff really friendly and helpful very welcoming atmosphere, they make it their business to get to know the customers and what they like to eat,drink , the food is very good quality and the coffee is amazing all food presented to a high standard , don’t feel rushed when I go and chatted to some other customers , even seen a couple of ladies knitting at the tables near the window , it’s a place where u can go on your own and feel comfortable, the healthy breakfasts are amazing and the homemade brownies . Will carry on going , it’s great value for money xx

The breakfast brunch really is quite amazing! Great flavour and the portion size is just right. The staff are so accommodating they even made a small plain sandwich for my little girl. Great coffee and the lemon cakes where to die for!! All home made by the owner in fact they were still slightly warm and if that doesn’t scream freshly baked, what does! Highly recommend this lovely little place.

Revisited Ponti recently after my eldest son heard about how lovely the brownie was from his younger brother after returning from our previous visit. Super fast service by the lovely team and excellent food and coffee again. The long awaited brownie was rated ‘the best he’s ever had’ and I’m already being nagged to return for another sitting. Thank you Ponti for another lovely dining experience, we shall be back to see you soon.

Had the best time at a friend’s baby shower this weekend. Gorgeous rustic vibe with the most incredible home-cooked treats! We had an afternoon tea with Prosecco and it was ace. Highly recommend the lemon tart- best I’ve had- and the chai latte beat any I’ve had at Starbucks/Costa! Owner is so friendly and the prices aren’t extortionate. Will definitely be back for a taste of their infamous brownies ☺️

Visited here for a friend's baby shower - venue is fab and the food was amazing - the brownie was the best ever - salted caramel. Sadie was a fabulous host. Would recommend to anyone - you won't be disappointed.

Lovely little afternoon here at Ponti to celebrate a baby shower. Food was insane (especially the salted caramel brownie pieces and white chocolate cheesecake. Place is super cosy with a lovely relaxed atmosphere and will definitely be popping back in again soon :) Thanks lovely for being a great host x

They do great quiche and salad,so if you want something light its great to visit.Staff are friendly and food good value for money.

Friendly, warm and welcoming, this is difficult to find, but not at Ponti, nothing is to much trouble, staff are fabulous.

I have visited Ponti many times for breakfast or just for coffee and cake and every time it just gets better. I went on Saturday with friends for afternoon tea which was beautiful the service was fantastic and very quick.I can not decide which cake is my favourite but this month it has to be the carrot cake cheesecake.

Visited Ponti today for the first time and was not disappointed, it was amazing. So much to choose from on the menu, atmosphere of the place is very chilled and relaxing and could not fault the service from the super friendly & attentive staff. Will be returning to Ponti very soon with the rest of my family and I’ll be sure to tell all of my friends about this little gem of a place in the meantime

Had a nice catch up with my friend here. I had a panini & a piece of cake, which was lovely . The coffee is also nice and I am a coffee addict so I know my coffee .

Heard great things about Ponti and decided to visit for coffee and cake with some old friends. The atmosphere was great. It was busy, but not too busy - so was perfect for catching up with friends. The chocolate brownie is the best I've ever had! I had the Ferrero brownie. The coffee is lovely and the staff were very friendly and provided a great service. Thank you. Looking forward to going back and trying the menu (the food looks great)

Met a friend in here for a catch up and i cant believe ive not been sooner...very relaxed, professional staff, swift service and amazing food,and a great selection of homemade cakes.. Will definitely be returning in the very near future..

I came here for the first time with some friends and we all had something different; breakfast bake, tuna pasta, salads and panini’s - all of which where really tasty and brilliant value for money. The staff were extremely pleasant and polite and there was a lovely warming ambience in the room. Will definitely be paying another visit very soon! Thank you :)

Wow....just got back from a fabulous afternoon tea at this gem of a place to celebrate my daughters 13th birthday.

Arrived at 10:00am for breakfast, the choice was good and it was served in good time. Lovely drinks and a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. A lady arrived in a very large electric wheelchair but there was enough space for her and the staff accommodated her , moving furniture so she could have her choice of table. Nice touch.

Usually it is a visit to a Costa but this time I tried a local business in Ponti. A great experience with fresh ingredients all prepared on site and the standards of the premises were spotless. Great service but the best was left til last! for anyone with a sweet tooth I would definitely recommend the Kinder Bueno brownie! you wont be disappointed. Will definitely be visiting again.

What a lovely cafe, a very warm welcoming on entering the cafe, amazing value for money. Had the meat platter which was amazing and my daughter had the chocolate brownie. Which was the best brownie she has tasted and rated it a 10/10

What a lovely coffee shop. I had the baked brunch with an iced coffee which was lovely with the weather. Aircon inside made the visit perfect. Will definitely be visiting again. Would 100% recommend.

Visited with my partner and his friend one Saturday lunch. Staff were very welcoming. Menu has plenty of choice and all at reasonable prices. Food was delicious, brownie was the best i've had. Will definitely be returning and would highly recommend.

We had lunch at Ponti today on returning from a week away. What can I say, fantastic place and staff. We didn't get chance to take any pictures of the food & drinks as we were to busy enjoying them! Would highly recommend a visit!!

Called in for lunch as we had family staying with us for a few days. We helped to clear a table that someone had just left so we could be out of the way as we had a push chair with us. The waitress brought us some brownie pieces over as a thank you which our granddaughter particularly enjoyed. We had a beautiful lunch and bottle of wine and then all had a dessert too. It was a long leisurely lunch and we were not made to feel hurried. The staff were very friendly and helpful and we would go back without hesitation.

A dozen volunteers gathered for a farewell lunch at the closing of a charity. The charity had achieved a lot in eight years for those locally in Hull but more importantly those in need in West Africa. It was a happy occasion helped by friendly staff, pleasant food and good vibe.

Popped into Ponti for brunch, had a browse if the menu settling for cheese toasties with a pot if tea for two. Great service provided, nothing to much trouble, love my lady served us.

Really lovely little cafe With friendly staff that look after you really well. Yummy homemade food with fresh ingredients. Their americanos and flat whites are just what you need. This place is definitely worth a visit Gluten-free options Also its disabled friendly!

Located at the university end of Newland Avenue, we stopped by for Sunday breakfast. Good-sized portions of nicely prepared food and very friendly service - a good find. Being able to sit outside in the sun was a bonus.

Been on 4 occasions now, assured of an excellent coffee and the lemon tart is outstanding. The best!! Lovely staff, will try more from the menu in due course.

Been coming to Ponti as a weekly treat with granddaughter for over 2 years now. Still the same great service,Sean and Jo are excellent hosts. The food is always extremely tasty and a good variety. All the home made cakes are very good ( think we have gone down the list several times!). You can buy the coffee beans they use too. So you can grind your own at home, and have your tasty coffee fix even when they are closed! A super family friendly place to meet up. We have seen the same friendly faces in Ponti over the years , so people obviously love it . We have gone with the dog too as there are tables outside.

I came to Ponti for a change of scenery whilst studying and, although the customers seem to be primarily older than your average student, it was quiet enough to get some reading done! The staff were friendly and the food is nicely priced, however I did find the Nutella cake a little rich and I didn't like the after taste of the coffee...

Although a frequent visitor to Ponti, I can recommend the Italian Christmas cake, this was the first time for afternoon tea and it was a delight. All homemade treats with unlimited tea & the option of prosecco or wine. Very attentive hosts who parcelled up the leftovers for us to take home. Everything was delicious thank you. We'll be back!

Stopped in Ponti's for a business lunch with a colleague and was very pleasantly surprised. The coffee was great and toasted focaccia sandwich very good. Also had the home made biscotti biscuits which are the best I've ever had. Friendly staff, nice atmosphere and a place I'l definitely be back to.

This is a hidden gem at the top of Newland Avenue. Great fresh coffee and a counter full of fresh homemade bakes make it a delightful retreat. Not to mention the friendly staff which make the visit complete. The only complaint is it is destined to become a go to place for many people. Give it a go you won't be disappointed but save me a table.

3 of us had home made quiche. Roasted red pepper was delicious, served with salad and crisps. £4.95 was a bargain. We were asked if we wanted a dressing. Then a small slice of cake for £1. Great value.

I have been going to this cafe for years. It is my very favourite place for coffee and the food is also excellent; in particular, the lasagne and the salads which I can personally recommend. The cafe is also extremely clean and the service extremely good and friendly.

Stop by here on a regular basis. The staff are always efficient and helpful. They never rush you to leave even though it isn't a large cafe. There is a nice choice on the breakfast or lunch menu. It isn't vast but well presented and tasty. They also offer take-away salads and sandwiches if you need to eat later. The chef is obliging and will do his best to accommodate any dietary requirements.

Called in for coffee and was tempted by the cake. I can highly recommend the chocolate fudge cake. The service was pleasant and efficient, and there was a nice relaxed atmosphere.

Went out for breakfast as had an early bank appointment and chose ponti on a whim. Definitely a great spot! Food was delicious, service quick and friendly and atmosphere chilled out. You can tell the people working here know what they're doing and take pride in their food and service. Honestly so different from everywhere else down new land , I'll be back!

Ponti is absolutely my favourite retreat on Newland Avenue. Highly recommended for consistently tasty focaccia, top quality coffee, delicious sweet treats and, most importantly for me, warm and friendly service every time. Delightful!

I often visit with friends for lunch or pop in after the school run for hot chocolate with my children. We are always made to feel welcome, the staff are lovely and often stop for a quick chat. The nutella cheesecake is my guilty pleasure. Just a shame the premises aren't bigger as sometimes there are no tables available.

This is a lovely little cafe on Newland Avenue, Hull. It serves great coffee and has a good selection of gluten free options - soups, gluten free sandwiches and usually a choice of 2 different gluten free cakes. Friendly and a nice atmosphere. I've been in a few times now and always enjoyed what I've chosen to eat.
