Wow. What can I say. What a superb experience. From the welcome, the atmosphere and food was top notch. Then there was the service - simply brilliant. The gentleman who looked after us was superb at his what he does - very accommodating and attention to detail was exceptional. I wish I’d have got his name. When I questioned about the sauce for the pizza base he came back with a small pot for me to look at before ordering! He gave my daughter a nice desert for her birthday and was very good at asking if drinks needed refilling once the got to a certain level - very good. The food was fresh, tasty and reasonably priced too. We will definitely be back when we visit again for the races - I can speak highly enough of this place. Bravo!

Always great food and service but last night was exceptional!! Valentino & Tony really made my daughter’s 10th birthday meal with friends really special, I cannot thank them enough. We all loved it and her friends have not stopped talking about the evening

Riva Blu in Hull offers a very good dining experience overall. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the food that was available was well-prepared. The seafood pasta stood out – it arrived hot, fresh, and full of flavour, clearly made to order. However, parking was difficult to find and slightly confusing, as the restaurant is located in the next retail park over from where you’d expect, which wasn’t clearly signposted. Another downside was that several items on the menu were unavailable, which limited our choices and was a bit frustrating. Despite these issues, the quality of the food and service made it an enjoyable visit. A solid four-star experience, with a few areas for improvement.

I had such an amazing experience at Riva Blu in Hull! The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was just perfect. What truly made my night special was what happened at the end—after I asked for the bill, the staff surprised me with a beautiful cake with a candle on top and started singing happy birthday to me! I was so happy and touched by their kindness and effort. It honestly made my day so much more special. Thank you to the lovely team at Riva Blu for making my birthday unforgettable!

What a wonderful dinning experience! I had dinner here with my friends and I have to say it’s one of the best I’ve had in a while. -Service: The staff were friendly, polite and professional. We made our reservations online and called in to confirm with the restaurant. We arrived on time and were shown to our table almost immediately, staff offered to take our coats too (made us feel fancy😁). They sang me a birthday song as it was my birthday.🥳 -Food: The food was great! We didn’t have starters as we opted to go for drinks first and then to mains. The food was reasonably priced and our orders were taken quickly and arrived on time. We requested adjustments to our meals and they were made. We didn’t have to spend a lot of time going through the menu before deciding. Food was so good we forgot to take good pictures. -Pricing: We spent about £150 for three (for four drinks, three mains, two sides as well as the takeout box my friend ordered). We ended up paying £120 after our deposit was deducted. -Atmosphere: Cool and calm ambiance, not too noisy despite the sitting areas being close to the kitchen. We visited on Mother’s Day, so we expected that it’ll be busy there. In all, we had a lovely time there and will definitely be visiting again.

Service excellent ,staff helpful and polite. Wait between starters and main way too long. The Caesar salad with chicken was poor and I wouldn't recommend it.The prawn linguine was highly recommended by one of our party. Prices as expected and tables, plates authentic. The acoustics of the wooden floors made it difficult to have a conversation. But overall a pleasant atmosphere maybe a return visit if things improve.

Went today for my sons birthday, brilliant food as usual, slight hiccup however along came the brilliant Daniela to save the day. Will certainly be back

We visited the restaurant for dinner and we had a wonderful evening. The atmosphere and food were exceptional but what really made our evening such a special experience was Tilly our waitress. She recommended a delightful wine to accompany our meal and was attentive and extremely helpful.

Service was excellent. However prices were very high and every single purchase was augmented by a 10% service charge. The option was there to remove it. Food was below par. Calzones and pizzas were nothing special, somewhat under cooked. Cheesy garlic bread was extremely salty and couldn't be finished as a result. The mains otherwise were good but again nothing spectacular. Despite the great service the food and the service charge let the experience down. Will not return.

The steak was poor quality and very chewy. Given the prize, we expected a delicious, tender steak. The waiter didn't appear interested in checking if we were satisfied with our food or drinks. We were hugely disappointed, especially since we found lovely memories of this restaurant from the past.

Atmosphere was lovely and service was great, the waiters/waitresses were nice and very attentive! But the food was not fab, the lasagna was about 6/7 layers of pasta, the first couple of layers were fab but the underneath was like mush, honestly like mash. The garlic bread was that greasy it was literally dripping oil. My partners meatballs were mushy. All giving defrosted vibes. Will probably return for a drink as the atmosphere and service were great but won’t eat here again.

The carbonara tastes like the left over throw up in you mouth after you’ve been sick The spaghetti bolognaise, had three pieces of meat in it, quite literally its was only pasta my partner said “I should have brought the left over stew from home” The starter garlic bread and the side roast potatoes were probably the best part of the meal

The food was nice but £15 for a tiny burrata, a drizzle of pesto, couple of walnut pieces and a piece of toast? Bonkers. Nearly £8 for a tiny bowl of truffle fries with no truffle flavour? Crazy! This is Hull, not Central London! £10 a glass for wine? Nuts!

What a find! We were staying at the nearby Premier Inn and were looking for somewhere close by to eat. Our expectation was that it would be just somewhere to sate our hunger and nothing more. How wrong we were as we had an amazing experience. It started with a very warm and engaging welcome by Daniela who despite being busy took the time to talk to us. We particularly appreciated that she chatted through one of our menu choices to ensure we understood what we planned to order. The menu choice was excellent with both the usual favourites and some more unusual options. My husband really enjoyed his Margherita pizza which was as it should be - a thin base letting the freshness and simplicity of the topping stand out. My risotto al tartufo was particularly flavoursome, beautifully served in a very pretty bowl and with just a hint of”bite” to the rice. I was keen to try the roasted turnip tops as a side as this was new to me and I was so glad I did. They were absolutely delicious. There was a real vibe to the place and all the staff we encountered were so upbeat and friendly but also efficient. We loved the energy and passion they showed when delivering birthday greetings at several tables through the evening. However it was Daniela’s engagement and some of the insights she shared about her part of an Italy which made our visit so special.

Had two fabulous meals at this restaurant. The food was outstanding, the staff were attentive and brilliant. So sorry we live in Suffolk but will certainly be visiting again for great food when we return to Hull in the near future. Thank you so much for making our evenings a real treat.

Came here for a meal with my husband and in-laws for a pre Christmas meal. We needed somewhere around the Hull area as it's half way between us all. I'm really glad we chose here, the interior of the restaurant is beautifully decorated, the atmosphere is relaxed and the staff are wonderful. We all had a different starter and each dish was tasty. The mains my mother in-law said the Lasagne lacked seasoning but the pizza, mushroom and vegetable Ragu and the clam pasta dish was delicious, also really enjoyed the rosemary and garlic focaccia. Would definitely return if in the area and fancied Italian food.

Had a great experience at Riva Blue in kingswood, enjoyed the food and the alcoholic drinks were fab. James was particularly lovely and very attentive.

Bit disappointing if I'm honest. Lovely food but no atmosphere, the speediest of service and the male staff, of which there seemed to be a lot, were mostly not doing much The waitress was good and helpful. Just didn't have an atmosphere and it's not somewhere I'd rush back to.

Amazing food great service from start to finish and valentino, the barman cant do enough for you if theres a drink you want not on menu he will make it for you no probs very knowledgeable on various wines so deff a must visit in my book 10/10

What an amazing place, we literally dropped in on a whim because we were nearby. We almost had the whole place to ourselves, we felt like royalty and basically treated as if we were. Yes, the fresh pasta main dish was al dente, it's supposed to be ♥️👍 and we managed to order it with some extra prawns 😁 Both starters were just amazing and we did treat ourselves to a hand pulled tomato with basil bread 🤤 The prawns were off the charts amazing. We could of had both starters per person, and called it a day 😁 All the staff were amazing, absolutely zero issues with tweaking our food requests, and so helpful. Honestly, if you love Italian food, this has to be on your list of places to try. I know there is some history about this place, but whoever is running it now, along with the excellent staff, are on to a winner in my eyes... I could eat those starters again right now ♥️🤣

Haven’t visited since the change in ownership but a brilliant night at Riva Blu! We were served by Tilly and she was absolutely ace from start to finish. Steaks were cooked perfectly. Will look forward to returning.

We ate here on a Saturday around 3.30pm. Really quiet which we liked but a shame as the food is so tasty and the team are lovely. First visit here and we were definitely not disappointed. Highly recommend!

I thought it was overpriced ..... Service was good ... Food was ok ... But not amazing ..... I recommend not having a sweet ..... It was 9 50 for a small piece of lemon cello .... Literally taken out of a fridge and two bits of basil put on for decorative purposes .... Staff are friendly and efficient and atmosphere was good. ... But at nearly 100 pounds for a three course average meal it's certainly not value for money ... Go when the offers are on midweek

although we had a lovely time and did overall enjoy the experience, i can say that i wasn’t fully satisfied with my main meal. i did get what i was asking for, but the taste was a little too overwhelming for me. our starter however was absolutely stunning and i thoroughly enjoyed it. i will say the prices were a little too high but it is a very visually appealing restaurant with top notch service.

We ate here on Saturday evening, arrived on time and was pleasantly surprised when we entered really nice looking decor and pleasant staff, everything started well we had our drinks they have a good selection and the kids liked their mocktails - We got our starters which were really nice, i had the arancini, the wife Probole fritters and the kids had dough balls and vegetable sticks, we all really enjoyed them than it went a bit downhill. The Mains took over an hour to come to us we did ask twice if they were on the way and the staff were helpful in saying they would be coming shortly and it did eventually come and than the disappointment. I had Paccheri Alla Lardiata, which didn't really taste of a lot to be honest and the pasta was under cooked , not Al dente just under cooked. My wife had Spaghetti Aglio Olio E Peperoncino which again was really disappointing it was basically spaghetti with basic tomato sauce there was zero chilli or any other flavor. One of my children had the make your own pizza which she was delighted with when came but having eaten a couple of the small pieces i than checked and there was a couple of raw bits of the pizza where it was really thick in parts and not stretched out or cooked enough, we were all too hungry after waiting an hour for it to come to complain and risk another wait. My other child had a basic penne with bolognaise sauce which she enjoyed and was pretty nice but overall we were disappointed. The Waitress we had was really nice and helpful and couldn't we really fault her, i think for the cost of the meal which is pretty top end for an Italian i was expecting a whole lot more so i don't think we'll be returning.

Fantastic location with excellent food

This was a group meal of 13 people to celebrate my mother’s 70th birthday. Tilly, who looked after our table was outstanding in every way. The other members of staff who chipped in seemed equally eager to help and sincere in their interactions. The food was excellent, the atmosphere perfect, and Tilly’s attentiveness and tireless effort over the course of the meal should be commended.

Probably the worst place I've eaten. Total rip of Food was les then average .Arrogant bar tender with attitude. Way over priced .The only good memory of the place was the pleasant waitress. Never go back again.
