The quality of the food was outstanding, and it was absolutely worth the price. Despite the Saturday night rush, the restaurant had a warm and inviting ambiance. The service was attentive, and the food was truly exceptional. It easily ranks among the top restaurants I've dined at in Hull. I'm already planning my next visit.

Decidimos salir a cenar Navidad este año en familia y optamos por el piccolo, ya que siempre nos han impresionado otras comidas aquí durante el año. El menú fue amplio y diversas personas de nuestro grupo optaron por diversos platos. Todos eran absolutamente impresionantes en presentación y tamaño de porción y, lo que es más importante, sabor. El servicio estaba en su punto y las bebidas, etc. se llevaron rápidamente. Todo era de primera clase y no puedo recomendarlo lo suficientemente alto. Muchas gracias por hacer de nuestra cena familiar de Navidad una experiencia brillante y por todo tu duro trabajo haciéndolo posible. 🫶🏻

Me and my wife got the fillet steaks and whilst they aren't cheap, they were top quality. It was a cold night outside and the resurant could of benefited from extra heating as people were opening doors regularly. That said the staff were fantastic and we will be returning.

Visited as a family of 5 and had a truly amazing evening ! Lively atmosphere, well thought-out decor and incredibly friendly staff made us feel right at home . Ordered a mixture of dishes and each nicer than the other, no question on quality of care or presentation. Not to mention the waiters going above and beyond to cater to our dietary needs. The experience matched the last one we had, glad to see they’ve upheld their high standards - looking forward to bringing some friends and visiting again soon, would highly recommend!

Lovely food, lovely staff. One of the servers didn’t quite hear me saying I’m lactose intolerant so when the risotto came with Parmesan shavings and I mentioned it to another staff member they rectified it in a jiffy, remade my food and didn’t make any issue about it at all. Food was gorgeous, not expensive either.

First time at this lovely restaurant was last week 15/11/24 made to feel very welcome I think the lady who welcomed my daughter and my self could have been the manager also the young waiter nothing was too much for them they made sure we were happy with the food so compliments to the chef 👍 and the prices were reasonable hopefully next time we are in hull we will be back.⭐️

The best Italian restaurant with friendly staff, But now the quantity of food has decreased and the quality is not the same as before. The staff have changed and are very rude. I do not recommend to anyone😞

Great value on the teatime menu, worth a visit

Qué sorpresa descubrir una pequeña joya de un restaurante. La elección del menú fue variada y la comida se preparó por encargo. La calidad de los platos era fantástica, tan bien presentado y abundante. El personal tan amable nada demasiado problema para ellos. Encontramos el lugar tan bueno que fuimos de nuevo la semana siguiente y todo fue igual de bueno. Incluso el chef salió a charlar y explicar la fuente de la comida y tener una pequeña charla con sus clientes. Buen toque. No puedo recomendar Piccolos demasiado no quiero que se invada. Bromeando realmente sugieren si usted está buscando un lugar que tiene buen servicio excelente comida a un buen precio llegar a ti mismo a Piccolo Bistro 👍👍👍👍👍

Went here for late lunch after hearing great reviews and they did not disappoint with very friendly and attentive staff. We chose two meals for 15 pound which included several choices of pasta and pizza. The main menu prices were also extremely reasonable. We opyed for a large meaty Calzone and a seafood pasta dish. The mussels and prawns tasted fresh, and the ham and mushrooms were very tasty in the calzone. Definitely the best Italian food we have ever tasted, and we can't wait to come back 😋.

I had a meal here with my wife and unfortunately it was awful, plastic from a container in my meal, guess it was from a microwave food, shame its a nice setting and the staff are friendly. Yes, this did happen. My wife and I walked in and got a table.

The food was not good to say the least so sadly we won't be going back. Waiter men was bad,First and last visit here and There were 2 drunken men there who were talking very loudly and we were not at peace at all, and Even the manager was in the kitchen and did not come to apologize to us .😤😑

Lugar encantador con personal muy amable y atento. Tenía gamberoni, y un entrante de paté de hígado de pollo, montaña absoluta de paté, el pan era realmente delicioso también. Para principal los dos fuimos por filete de nuevo porciones muy generosas que es lo que me gusta ya que normalmente estoy queriendo más 😁.

Popped in tonight on our way home and what a lovely surprise. Excellent value with the two for £15 or £18 menu. Fabulous food, friendly and attentive staff and nice busy atmosphere. We will definitely be back.

I had a fantastic experience at Piccolo Italian Bistro today. The service was exceptional, especially from a waitress named Bianca, who demonstrated excellent barista and waitressing skills. I’ll definitely be returning!

Brilliant food and service as always have now visited 4 times and have always have a positive experience

Booked a table for 3 over 2 weeks ago and when we arrived tonight we were sat in the shop part not in the restaurant so asked to be moved. We were given a table upstairs where there is absolutely no atmosphere at all. The food was average to say the least so sadly we won’t be going back. The only positive from the whole night was the waitress who was lovely bless her.

I haven’t been to Piccolo in years but I stopped off on a walk this morning and picked up some cannolis and coffee and they were so nice we returned for dinner as they have a 2 pizzas for £15 offer and it was amazing. Delicious food and great service, no wait times at all. The desserts stole the show, authentic Italian pastries and the pistachio gelato tastes just like the one I had in Naples! Would highly recommended!

Just come back from lunch there. Took my daughter as a last minute treat. Wow what a treat. It was packed out. Had the seafood linguine and daughter had pizza. Offer was 2 for £15. Don’t know how they could do it for that price. Mine had prawns and mussels . Both very generous portions . Gentleman who served was lovely. Will be back weekly. Maybe best to book next time with it being so busy

We called in at piccolo as we were passing and needed to eat somewhere, we are not from the area. We were really impressed with the quality of the food and value for money. We ordered off the 2 for £15 menu, the gluten free pasta was lovely and my husband calzone was massive and he really enjoyed it. Service was also really good. Would definitely come again if passing, disappointed we do not have a restaurant like this near where we live.

I visited last night with a group of colleagues for a special occasion. It was myself who recommended, having had a few excellent experiences previously and although I had not been for some time i had heard recently it remained very good. We had dietary requirements (x2 vegans and x1 celiac) which the menu indicated would be catered for. We were a group of 15 and were asked to pre-order which was no issue and upon ordering we explicitly stated our dietary requirements twice. Our vegan pizzas arrived with goats cheese on and these had to be exchanged so x2 of our party ate separately to us. The celiac in the party ordered risotto, and when served we double checked it was free of gluten, which was confirmed by the chef via the waiting staff. Half way through the meal it was noticed there was pasta in the risotto. When this was sent back the chef sent a message, via the waiting staff to inform he had drained some pasta over the risotto and ‘it must’ve fell through’. I have no words for how unacceptable this is to have happened and to how flippantly this was responded to. The seriousness of this situation is my colleague is now extremely sick. The waiting staff who was sent to deal with everything was extremely polite and attended to all of our questions timely. However, he was clearly new or needed some training and it made the situation worse for us as we felt sorry for him and didn’t complain as much as we should. Not once was it acknowledged how serious the situation was. We were offered an apology, once again via the waiting staff and we had to request the risotto was removed from our bill, it was not even offered! Furthermore, we observed another member of staff, whom appeared to be the manager, or somebody certainly more senior, attend to other customers politely and with attention. Upon us arriving we were greeted the same. However, further to our complaints and when he attended to our table (to clear glasses etc) he was rude and it was evident via his actions he found us to be the problem for complaining and sending food back. He never spoke one word to us when clearing our table thereafter. Such a shame as those who got the correct meals reported the food was excellent. Speaking for myself my food was extremely well put together and tasted very good, unfortunately I didn’t enjoy it due to the experience we were having. Our response to a situation that should never have happened was an utter disgrace. It was as unacceptable as the mistakes that were made. That’s 15 customers who will never return.

Very tasty food, reasonably priced. Busy atmosphere full of people even though it was Monday evening. Would definitely have to book each time obviously very popular.

Disappointing visit. Coffee was very bitter and you could taste the washing liquid on the cups. Pastries, advertised as fresh, were not and were stiff. We complained, but the waiter shrugged his shoulders and said he will tell the kitchen. Even tho he made the coffee.

Love this place. Excellent food at excellent prices. Deserts from the bakery are top quality also. We have started coming here for family meals and lunch quite regularly. Cocktails are good too! Probably be back again next week .

There are so many positives from my/our visit I’d been promising my 7 year old grandson here for some time and it was more than impressive Taha the owner and his team were brilliant hosts; taking time to make conversation with my grandson and treat him like a valued customer despite his age The food itself was amazing, delicious and extremely generous portions Thank you so very much for everything about today - I will forget it and I wish you continued success

My wife & I visited for our anniversary , we both had a starter and a main meal. plus a bottle of house red. The food was fantastic as was the service. Their was no pressure to order and we felt relaxed. All in all it was an amazing evening. We could not fault it. Looking for an excuse to visit again.

Visited the restaurant with my wife. The put us in a very small table that barely has space for a couple of plates and drinks. The cocktails were OK, but overpriced in my opinion. Starters were nice but small in size (yes it's a bistro but still)... Goat cheese salad was bland, apart from goat cheese itself which was amazing. Mains (two different choices of homemade ravioli) were seriously lacking of flavour and were not "Al dente". The dessert was AMAZING and fun fact, it was the cheapest option in the menu! Staff members were all polite and helpful. The overall ambiance of the place was nice, but the space is "piccolo". Music had the perfect volume (not too loud and not too low), however they haven't played a single Italian song the whole night! Honestly, we won't visit the restaurant again to eat as there are far better alternative choices out there, but I will definitely visit again their "piccolo cafe" shop in order to enjoy their excellent desserts!

We celebrated a birthday with close friends, so the atmosphere was top notch. We were received well and taken to our seats on the 1st floor by a chicken-like staircase, not so nice. Good table by the window with a view of the main street. The premises were a bit sterile but good muted music. Good welcome cocktails, good starters, mine was a great spicy tomato soup with bread (The best for me from the dinner), my main course was a pork ravioli dish, very fresh taste without much spices, the pasta overcooked) Other dishes fish/meat plates (salmon, oysters, blue mussels) are enjoyed and highly praised. Drinks were mixed beer and Rosé wine. We drove home and drank coffee and continued to enjoy ourselves. Nice restaurant, well visited both inside and outside. Thanks for food.

Food was very good, high standards and good value portions. Staff were attentive and organised. Seating was good however upstairs was cramped, think they need to get slightly narrower tables! In all fairness I'll definitely return, great to have a little gem like this place round the corner, don't go to a chain restaurant when you can come here.

Ordered cocktails on arrival but had a 25 minute wait before we got them. Food order of six starters, six mains and three bottles of wine. Six starters arrived after a wee while but only 5 of the 6 were correct, so someone had something they didn't order. Drink arrived after the starters. Mains then arrived and again one was wrong. So as the dish was not something any one fancied, I had to wait twenty minutes whilst my main was being cooked. The rest of our party tucked in whilst I watched. They had all finished before mine arrived and so I was bolting my food down to catch up. Didn't enjoy it even though the food was nice. Mum's 90th birthday but not the best night.

Went for lunch with my wife, had the burger which is excellent. Service from Dannielle was excellent once again. We always enjor going there , staff are good and make you feel welcome.

The best Full English breakfast I've ever had. Been meaning to try Piccolo's for breakfast for some time and finally got around to trying it and wow what an amazing breakfast. Every item was high quality and cooked to perfection. Super friendly owner too. 10/10 will definitely be coming back again for breakfast.

Went for a nice meal out, they had an offer where you can get two mains for £15 so opted for the calzone Service was polite but after being there for over 2 hours no one checked on us or asked if we wanted another drink, we were seated upstairs but was a nice atmosphere

I visited Piccolo today for the first time with my young daughter and some friends and was blown away by it all. The service was excellent; very friendly and polite staff. The food and drinks were so tasty and beautifully presented, and the location (we sat outside) was great for a relaxed catch-up with friends in the sunshine. The goats cheese salad was amazing, and such a great portion size. My daughter had the cheese and tomato pizza bread and loved it. Oh, and the desserts, Omg! Thank you for having us, I will be back with my family for sure! 100% would recommend!!

£7 for a gourmet sandwich to take away. Filling was sparse and there was o parmesan as described on the menu. Hugely disappointing. There was nothing gourmet about it other than the price! First and last visit here. Would not recommend to anybody.

Just popped in for a slice of focaccia and a coffee, both lovely and great value for money

We were really looking forward to our lunch here after not visiting for a few years. Sadly wasn't as good as we expected. We were sat at a dirty table to begin, despite an empty restaurant. Then not given menus for some time. The waitresses needed lots of training, we had to keep prompting them for things eg drink order, cutlery. One waitress described my garlic mushroom starter as 'soup' and my Husband's very spicy pizza as 'a pizza'. The food was nice although the kids didn't really enjoy anything. The bill was over £100 which included the service charge which I don't like taking off. If it hadn't have been for the very friendly man(possibly the manager) then I think the 12% would have been deducted. I don't think we'll return sadly

Around 30 of us went ,booked top floor,so basically a private arrangement,had great time ,staff were young but had a good ,helpful and caring way about themselves

It’s our local Italian and always very good. My only criticism is the music played in the evening. Would much prefer authentic Italian music. Even Eros Ramazzotti would be better than the stuff played tonight! Otherwise fine, lovely pizzas.Tactful to put a noisy group upstairs too.

Walked past in the morning and grabbed a takeaway black coffee. Which was a stand-out coffee, the beans or something just made it super rich and flavoursome. So obviously, I had to pop back later to try some of the food and another coffee. Again, cracking coffee, calzone was huge and delicious. Also pretty cheap. With a really nice atmosphere. Will absolutely be coming again. A right little gem.

Went for the first time the other evening with friends - for the one that is not a pasta lover and can't eat pizza due to a cheese allergy - was wondering what I could eat (went for the 2 for 15.00 special offer - which is pasta and pizza only) however on arrival, I decided to try a pasta dish (after checking no cheese in it - which the waitress went and asked the chef) - I went for the Linguini Pollo Funghi, we also ordered the Lasagne and 2 pizza's the Veg and Florentine - All the people in the party was amazed at the size of the dishes and who lovely is all looked and tasted we will be booking again with more friends to try it

I have eaten here before including special occasions. Unfortunately I was upset today to have a limited gluten free option for my starter and main course! I asked for dishes that could easily be made gluten free and was told no! Vegan and Vegetarian .are life choices, Coeliac disease is not! Disappointed as you used to have a better menu. NEVER coming back

Great good. So tasty. Loved the vegan pizza! And so accomodating to make it half white base and half tomato base, delicious! Molly was brilliant. So friendly and lovely to talk too. Wish we stayed closer so we could go again, we're from Scotland, but my Aunty who is local will be back!

We had a delicious lunch here yesterday. We shared a starter of veggie filled Tacos, I had a lovely Roast Vegetable Pizza. The base was really good, thin and crispy, with plenty of roast veggies. My partner had the Piccolo Burger, which he said was very good, I pinched some of his spicy fries which were yummy. We didn't have room for the lovely looking Gelato. It is a really good local Italian, and I often pop in for a coffee, and to buy the homemade bread, which is delicious. The staff are lovely and friendly,, there was a slight hiccup with my wine, and that was promptly fixed by the Chef/Patron. I hope my review encourages others to try Piccolos, as I feel we are lucky to have this super Bistro in the area.

The food was delicious we had 3 course each and I must say we enjoyed all the freshly cooked food the staff were friendly and were working very hard and the menu is the same as the website so you won’t be disappointed plenty of choices

We went again to Piccolos for an evening meal. This place never disappoints. We had starters and main course, which were delicious. But, were too full of the lovely food to fit in a sweet. For starters we had the crab and bruchetta respectively. My wife headed for her old favourite for main, the lamb. I had the veggie pasta parcels. Both were fantastic.

Hi! First timers trying out Piccolo's today! My husband and I were greeted and seated promptly from the moment we walked inside from the bakery side of the restaurant - which smelled heavenly. We sat down, had a moment to gander at the menu, and eventually decided on what we wanted to eat (cheesy garlic bread, and each our own choices of pizzas). But unfortunately, since we weren't handed a drinks menu at the time of when we were seated, we were sat feeling quite parched for a little while (between 10-15 mins), before our server came back around to us to take our orders. It was then that we asked her for the drinks menu, and quickly received one for us both to share. Not an issue whatsoever, but personally for me, I'd rather have my own menu to look at and not share with someone else as it can be a bit awkward. We got the cheesy garlic bread as an appetizer, which came out and was the same size as their pizzas! Which was much bigger than we had anticipated it would be lol. It was absolutely delicious garlic bread, couldn't have been better! 5/5 stars for the garlic bread alone - the best I've ever had for the price. (I'm only wishing I could have ordered a side of tomato sauce with it for dipping). Our pizzas were both excellent, as well! I got the one with mushroom + 2 types of olives, and my husband got the prosciutto ham + mushroom one. Both were absolutely mouthwatering, and they were truly some of the finest artisanal, house-made pizzas we've had in a very long time. 5/5 on the pizzas as well, couldn't have enough!! And the tomato sauce base on them was PERFECT. Honestly speaking, I'm someone that is quite picky when it comes to sauces, and I personally don't like a very acidic, hard, tomato-y sauce with my Italian food or pizzas. Within the first bite of something, I can tell right away if I like the sauce or not. But *this* pizza sauce was perfectly seasoned JUST RIGHT! Not too acidic, not too sweet. The Goldilocks of pizza bases! 👌 Cocktails were fabulous as well. I'm not a big drinker, but love to try a good cocktail with a meal now and again. For me, these were absolutely delicious, refreshing, and soooo flavourful. 5/5 on the cocktails, wouldn't have changed a thing about them, except making them in taller glasses lol 😉 And lastly, we took some cannolis home for dessert - and my goodness.... I don't know where people in Hull buy their favourite cannolis from, but me? I'm buying my cannolis from Piccolo's from now on. Fantasticly well-made, crispy, sweet, delicious, and so addictive!! Overall, we had a very pleasant experience with our first time at Piccolo's Italian Bistro. The only thing we could knock from our time here is just the length of time it took for our server to get to us time and time again. We were there for just over 1hr 15 mins, but at least 30 minutes of that time was solely spent just waiting on our server to get to us with bringing us things/taking things away. To be fair, she seemed to be the only server working with a mostly full restaurant during lunchtime, so my husband & I completely understand and don't hold it against her at all. This will not tarnish or leave a bad impression with us, but I'd hate for something like that to negatively affect someone else's dining experience in future; as I'm sure this could set some folks off completely. But as for us, we expect to come back again & again in future to try more delicious items from the menus! Thank you for having us today Piccolo's. Very nice food best in hull very experienced chief

Only our 2nd visit to this bistro but we really like it. Great coffee, nice atmosphere and I've been told the gluten free carrot cake is one of the nicest!! The pistachio pastries are lovely too. Can't wait for an opportunity to try some more of their dishes!

I ordered 2 pasta dishes and 2 starters from this restaurant on just eat, not really expecting much as delivered food is never as good as it could be if we were dining in, that goes for any restaurant! But me and my partner were so unbelievably impressed by the quality of the food and how tasty it was! We both said, if it’s this good delivered then imagine how good it would be to eat in, and now that’s our next date night planned! Can’t wait to taste it again! So yum!

Went with a huge group of friends for a large booking. The venue is lovely, on two floors and very welcoming. The staff were so lovely and the food ? Absolutely delicious. I had rice balls which had mozzarella inside and came with a lovely bolognaise sauce. For my main I had the meat calzone. Oh my word. So good. So so good. The base is so light and the filling was plentiful and very tasty. Washed down with a nice pint of Perroni. Perfect night out.

Amazing food in an atmospheric intimate surrounding. Perfect for date night, some larger tables for groups.

Honestly a hidden gem. Huge portions, friendly and welcoming staff and amazing pricing. We both audibly reacted to the size of the portions and the hugeness of the meat calzone (that wasn’t any air!! It was all meat!!) can tell the chef cooks with passion for the food, and for his customers as he’s who took our order! First valentines with my partner well spent. It’s rare to get a meal with sides and a drink, for under £40 and have left overs to take home. Would recommend to anyone, especially if you’re on a budget, take advantage of their lunch menu, will be returning during the week for the 2 for £15 menu.

We had an appointment in Hull so looked for somewhere nice for lunch. After a bit of research we decided to try Piccolo Italian Bistro on Chanterlands Avenue as it looked good & was not far from where our appointment was. Wow, what a great decision! We were greeted warmly by the front of house young lady & shown to a table. Straight away I thought this would be good as it was only 12:15 on Thursday lunchtime & almost all the downstairs tables were already taken. Menus given & drinks order taken quickly which we like as you can enjoy a drink whilst perusing the menu. My partner chose the Gamberoni (King prawns) followed by Branzino (Sea bass fillets) whilst I decided on Polpetta (meatballs) then Filetto al Pepe (Pan-fried beef fillet strips in creamy peppercorn sauce) A bottle of wine was chosen to accompany this & we sat chatting in anticipation of some nice food. Well we weren't disappointed. Lovely starters & then delicious mains were served up with just the right amount of time in between. There was a vibrant atmosphere in the bistro, some nice background music & plenty of chatter from what appeared to be many regulars having lunch which is always a good sign! We had a nice chat with the Italian waitress/ front of house/ bakery shop assistant about looking after customers as we have close links to the hospitality trade. She worked very hard doing all this & made it look easy juggling all this & keeping everybody happy! A credit to the business. We also learned about some nice places to visit in Italy. Chatting to the owner/chef & found out he used to work at a nice Italian restaurant in our home town of Beverley many years ago. All in all, a delightful lunchtime experience, nice atmosphere, great service & wonderful food. We will definitely be repeating this the next time we visit Hull (in about 4 weeks!) & we will also take friends there for dinner one evening very soon. There are many restaurants, cafes, bistros dotted about these days so it is nice when you drop onto a good one & Piccolo is definitely a good one!

We had an appointment in Hull so looked for somewhere nice for lunch. After a bit of research we decided to try Piccolo Italian Bistro on Chanterlands Avenue as it looked good & was not far from where our appointment was. Wow, what a great decision! We were greeted warmly by the front of house young lady & shown to a table. Straight away I thought this would be good as it was only 12:15 on Thursday lunchtime & almost all the downstairs tables were already taken. Menus given & drinks order taken quickly which we like as you can enjoy a drink whilst perusing the menu. My partner chose the Gamberoni (King prawns) followed by Branzino (Sea bass fillets) whilst I decided on Polpetta (meatballs) then Filetto al Pepe (Pan-fried beef fillet strips in creamy peppercorn sauce) A bottle of wine was chosen to accompany this & we sat chatting in anticipation of some nice food. Well we weren't disappointed. Lovely starters & then delicious mains were served up with just the right amount of time in between. There was a vibrant atmosphere in the bistro, some nice background music & plenty of chatter from what appeared to be many regulars having lunch which is always a good sign! A small Italian restaurant with amazing food, we have been on 4 occasions now all visits the food has been top notch, currently working my way through the starters (fish cakes current favourite) then as much as I’d love to try everything on the main menu eventually, when a chef cooks a fillet steak I could cut with a spoon so perfectly I just keep going back to what I know best. Garlic mushrooms brilliant 👌🏼(just make sure your partner eats them to)🤣 Absolutely incredible.

Wow. Came here back in 2019 and was excellent then again tonight. What a gem of a place. Great Staff and service and holy moly the food is just incredible - we’ve been to quite some places including Ciprianis in Anguilla and honestly this place could show them a thing or two! Thank you to all at Piccolo for another outstandingly excellent family meal x

Fantastic bistro,food is amazing very Italian ,having travelled to Italy many times this place is very authentic the closes I've found back home The owner and staff are fantastic. I have visited many times and have never been let down

Unfortunately, i have to change my review from the previous 5 atars as the quality seems to have detiorated, i had a calzone that was stone cold in the middle and for some reason they decided to add pickled mushrooms into the pasta the Mrs had making it so acidic it was as if drinking vinegar, hoping they get back on track as used to be the best place localy.

The best Italian in Hull. The food is so fresh, lovely menu and the Bakery side is second to none. The fresh home-baked bread is amazing no one can beat it. Home made pastries look and taste amazing. So much to choose from, a lovely place just to pop for a coffee and sandwich too.

Great food, great staff. Me and my daughter loved it and looking forward to going back as soon as we can.
