Attended Walters with my wife gor a Chinese special menu evening. We were not disappointed and the food was better than any Chinese restaurant we have been to in recent years. We were seated at a nice cosy table for two and were promptly attended to by a friendly waitress. Looking at the other food on offer it all looked very enticing and the deserts were amazing. Very much a local pub/ restaurant. Excellent food at a reasonable price by which I mean not pub grub. Nothing wrong with pub grub but the food here is this is a cut above. Hope this makes sense.

Three of us had a delicious lunch last Sunday 5 star scallops to start,full Christmas turkey and fresh halibut .Selection of fresh beautifully cooked seasonal vegetables .Finished with lovely lemon dessert and sorbet We enjoyed everything and will return. Thank you Peter and Tilly!

Superb, freshly cooked food, beautifully presented at affordable prices. The menu consists of a good range of dishes - without resorting to a massive list of ‘frozen and reheated’ pub- type food. We thoroughly enjoyed, indeed ‘raved about’, our two mains - the Duck and the Belly Pork. followed by two excellent Sweets.

We came here for a Sunday lunch with my mother. We absolutely loved our experience. The menu was just big enough and whilst not a typical Sunday lunch, although there was Sunday roast beef with traditional accompaniments, there was plenty of choice. The food was delicious and extremely well cooked and presented. We had the chicken dumplings as a starter - lovely flavour, delicate yet definite, not too thick and enough as a starter. My mother had soup and couldn’t fault it. Two roast beef’s and a pork belly later we didn’t need dessert but couldn’t resist! Again couldn’t fault. We were very well looked after by a very pleasant and knowledgeable young man. We liked our experience so much we are coming back for the fish special evening.

Our third Visit to the gastropub, this time for a 'Fish Friday'. Had Stone Bass, with a stunning fish bisque. Tasty devine and perfectly cooked. Our third visit over the last couple of years and the food has always been faultless. Highly recommended.

If you haven't visited this place then you should be asking yourself why not!! The food is AMAZING!! Chef Peter can turn his hand to anything and his roasts are heaven! We've eaten here many times and I hope many more! Thank you so much Peter, every visit is as tasty as the first!

I highly recommend Walters at the Wheatshef, We recently celebrated a birthday with a large group of friends. Peter the Chef was so accommodating and designed a 3 course menu for our occasion. We had use of a function room in the back for the evening slightly away from the main resturant. The food and service was brilliant. Our group will definitely be using the wheatshef again.

We visited on Sunday for lunch after winng a voucher for 2 in a raffle. From start to finish the service was excellent, Peter could not have made us more welcome. We opted for mains and desert as our 2 courses but we were still given complimentary starters, everything that was put in front of us was delicious, when it came to desert we could not decide and were really quite full. Peter arrived at the table with a selection board of the sweets available again yummy. Thank you Peter and staff for a excellent meal and service, we will definately be back to sample more highly recommended.

In recent years the food at the Wheatsheaf at Badsey has been good, but yesterday (Mother’s Day) it was simply superb. I had the Gloucester Old Spot pork belly, tenderstem broccoli, creamy mash, and apple sauce. Quality ingredients cooked to perfection - it was absolutely divine. The crackling was crisp, the meat melted in the mouth, and the flavours combined perfectly. Followed by an excellent sticky toffee pudding. And all beautifully presented. The best meal I’ve had anywhere for a couple of years.

I love coming here, reasonably priced - the food is amazing, especially themed cuisine nights, the portions are very generous and the attention to detail is spot on, my children are fussy eaters so when Pete caters for their appetites it makes the whole experience more enjoyable and hassle free, looking forward to our next visit.

Having recently moved to the area we thought we should try out our local restaurant. What a lovely evening we had. A friendly greeting when we arrived (the restaurant has a separate entrance to the pub) and a pre-dinner drink. The young waiter was very helpful and bought some lovely bread and dipping oil to the table. The food was all cooked to perfection and our main courses were both excellent. We had fish and we couldn’t fault it and the accompanying vegetables were perfect. Our desserts were delicious and ended the meal beautifully. The chef came out at one point to talk to his customers and we liked this personal touch. I am sure we will be returning regularly to this lovely little restaurant.

For of us visited Walters for a second time Delicious scallop starter and pork and venison to follow . We ended with a yummy chocolate dessert ,everything was perfectly cooked and we were made very welcome by Peter,the chef and Gemma . Wish we lived closer to visit regularly ,but we will certainly be back !

Fantastic food and wine! The starter was absolutely mouthwatering and the mains just perfect. We had great quality South African wine.

Please people of Evesham give this restaurant a try , you won't be disappointecd. The food we had was superb and the service from the lovely Gemma was delightful. We wish we lived in Badsey, we would be here every week.

The food was fantastic, superb freshly prepared high quality ingredients, my sea bass was cooked to perfection on a bed of fresh local asparagus, I would recommend this. Complimentary olives and tasty bread was served while we waited, not for long, for our meals , which came out hot and extremely well presented. The cheese and biscuits were delicious , an excellent selection of cheeses served with lots of biscuits, enough for 4 not just me !! If you want an excellent meal very reasonably priced in a nice country pub, then give Walters a try, you won’t be disappointed.

Our first meal out since lockdown and it felt worth the wait! Peter came out to greet us on arrival and talked us through the menu. Cornish seabass was an obvious choice for both of us but first we shared a dish of flavourful dal with paratha and coconut cream on the side. A zingy, Asian-style salad followed as a palate cleanser then the seabass with asparagus, both cooked to perfection and not a bit beyond, served with a generous side of peas and new potatoes in minted butter. We couldn't manage dessert but were treated to a scoop each of aromatic, homemade blackcurrant sorbet with a grinding of black pepper. It was all so good that we just had to go back the next day for lunch! The £7 'light bite' menu provided a plateful of Asian-style rice with belly pork and a zesty salad for me and a hearty burger and fries for Mr Mel. This time there was room for dessert: homemade lemon tart which Peter bruleed on top, giving a delicious contrast of sweet crunch with zesty, smooth lemon filling. Delicious, fresh-cooked food, friendly service, a table in the sunshine and all for WAY less than nearby Broadway prices. We'll be back!

Called Peter and booked the Restaurant for 4 people. It was difficult to choose from the fantastic menu Peter had on and also the selection on the Specials board. The Starters were amazing. Mains were scrumptious. Sent back all clear plates. It was so so good. Did not have room for Dessert but all sounded very appetizing. The atmosphere was delightful and warm and welcoming. Not surprised Peter does well here. He finds the time to come and have a chat with his Customers. Lovely Man. Lovely Food. Take a well earned Bow Peter.

Had to settle for take away-pork souvlaki with the best tasting salad I've ever had- not sure what was on the dressing but it was zingy and went perfectly with the richness of the pork.

We decided to use our local restaurant due to the good reviews, for an anniversary meal.I contacted Peter and asked him if he could prepare and cook a 3 course meal of whatever we wanted (within reason), which he kindly agreed to do.We decided on :Slightly spiced parsnip soup.Stuffed fresh rainbow trout.18oz prime fillet steak with mushrooms with garlic, and sweet potato fries.Souffle with homemade salted caramel ice cream and sauce. (see photos attached).Well, he arranged a special table for is with candles and the flowers I had ordered. The food was absolutely sublime and the service was excellent.Peter will accept any reasonable requests for what you would like as a special, but needs notice.The standard menu and specials board always look scrumptious.

Because of the present pandemic, we could not visit Walters, so we ordered a take away from Walters last Friday. Fish & Chips and Sea Bass with all the trimmings. The take away was steaming hot and presented as Peter usually presents his food - with perfection. It all tasted delicious and succulent. Take a Bow, Peter. Thank you Andy for your help too. We will be back.

I was hosting a group of 8 engineers for training in the UK from a multitude of countries - France, Germany, Switzerland, Algeria, Morocco, Australia, Dubai, India...This was the last evening meal of the course, I booked and we ordered in advance. We had a great evening, the vibe of a local pub being much loved. Service great and friendly!Heard today - the day after - that feedback was this was much the best meal out! This was not feedback to me so people were not humouring me.Many thanks for the great meal! Hope I can do it all again soon!

Came in for Sunday lunch last week. I had delicious roast beef with proper Yorkshire pud and all the yummy trimmings. Great, attentive service too.

8 of us popped in today on the off chance and they were so helpful in getting us a table although they were very busy! We had roast dinners, tandoori chicken, fish & chips, Gammon with crispy onions and mash, prawns and the soup. All were absolutely delicious and would thoroughly recommend! The chef even popped out to check we were enjoying it and on finding out my friend was a vegetarian made her a roast dinner with separate gravy. Would thoroughly recommend!

We went for an evening meal tonight. I had the Bacon Collar off the main menu. The Bacon Collar was served with a really runny yoke fried egg and crispy fried onions and creamy Mashed Potato. This was rounded off with a very tasty jus.The food was really tasty and great value

Ate here last night and was blown away by the quality and presentation of the food. The service was also second to none and thrg couldn't do enough for you. Breakfast was also delicious- highly recommend Walter's at the Wheatsheaf - thanks once again Peter

We’ve eaten here a few times now, on a Saturday evening and also several times at their Wednesday international nights. On all occasions, the food has been excellent and their international evenings are amazing value. Usually 3 or 4 courses for £13.95, always exceeding expectations!

Yet again we had a wonderful meal here. Gras menu specials board and the multi choice restaurant menu available. A great choice of super food that looked fantastic and tasted amazing Book now!

Went today for a family Sunday roast(7 of us), the beef was beautiful with a lovely selection of vegetables. My children opted not for the roast when they were told anything on the menu could be made into a child portion,1 had the curry which was delicious apparently(rarely found on a children’s menu) & the other went for the ham, which I was allowed to sample, again lovely. Pudding were not only very tasty but looked amazing too. Clean plates all round. Topped off by great service. Thank you, we’ll be back.

Peter the chef at the Wheatsheaf is an excellent chef with great attention to detail and customer satisfaction. Great food and great beer make a good combo for a local pub off the beaten track.

We ate here with some friends and were blown away by the quality of food, it was absolutely exceptional. Peter has created a gem of a place for supplying top quality food at very reasonable prices, which left me speechless. Hats off to you, we will be back.

We had a meal at Walter's whilst staying in the area and enjoyed our time there. Our waiter was very pleasant, friendly and attentive. We just ordered a main course but were presented with a yummy "amuse bouche" beforehand. The food was tasty, wholesome and good and just what we needed after a day exploring the Cotswolds. We would be happy to go back.

Another great dinner - international theme on a Wednesday and this week was asian. Great prawn skewer with a delicious asian slaw, then ramen noodles and mango sorbet. Helpful and friendly service. Thanks.

We have eaten at Walter's at the Wheatsheaf on numerous occasions since chef Peter Zemla opened his restaurant there. Without exception every meal has been fantastic as well as excellent value for money. The quality and presentation of the food is very high indeed and we are always impressed by the clever combination of ingredients and flavours. We particularly enjoy Wednesday's International Night where a three course meal, each week themed on a different country is served. Peter and his friendly staff all go the extra mile to help to create and maintain a perfect atmosphere. I heartily recommend Walter's to all!

Lovely evening out with close family for a birthday celebration. Food delicious, beautifully presented, good to see a number of tempting vegetarian options. The sweet options are all amazing. All served with a smile.

Fantastic meal with husband and sister in-law we were celebrating my birthday. All three courses of food were well presented and tasted as good as it looked and the menu had a number of different food options including vegetarian, gluten free. Staff were very good and friendly.

The high quality food is extremely well presented, with complimentary appetizers before the starter. All courses a real delight. Service is excellent, nothing too much trouble and served with a smile. Would highly recommend.
