Such an amazing evening! Sat in front of an open fire playing board games and then listening to live music by candlelight. Lovely atmosphere. Landlord and bar staff so welcoming and friendly. Option to take in food from any local takeaway! We only meant to stay 30 mins we ended up staying 5 hours plus!!

This is an absolute gem of a place! Service, staff were amazing. Friendly welcoming feel. Played board games next to an open fire by candlelight and then the added surprise of an open mike night of original written songs. We were even able to bring in our chosen takeaway food. An unforgettable evening in Evesham! Thank you!

Situated in the heart of Evesham the Red Lion retains all that is best about the British pub. It has a great selection of local craft beers and lagers. Very well patronised by the local community which is a compliment and keep a look out for their quiz nights and live music sessions too. And how's this for unusual? They don't do food (there is no kitchen) but they don't mind you popping into the local chip shop or pizza takeaway and bringing it back to the pub!!

Nice looking old pub in the market square with 4 or 5 Cannon Royal ales & a few ciders to choose from. * Edit * New owner : who's doing a great job with the place , lots of music nights & other entertainment. Bring your own food & buy an excellent pint here to wash it down with . Good choice of different ales when we visited recently . No Cannon royal anymore ( as far as I know, they don't brew nowadays), but plenty of other good ones instead. Friendly barstaff & locals . Sit outside in the square in the better weather & watch the world go by !

The 15 members of Rural, ( Ripple and Uckinghall Real ale League ) our village drinkers club, established over 30 years ago, visited Tom and co at the Red Lion last night. I’ve known Evesham since my college days many years ago, but this pub visit was for the first time. I’d always thought of Evesham being devoid of any decent pubs, but the Red Lion proved me wrong. Like most things real ale, times are a changing for the better. Sounds like there are a couple of other decent pubs within walking distance. We visited on a Tuesday evening, when torrential showers were forecast, so it was understandably quiet . Apparently Tom only took the pub on two weeks ago to save its closure after the retirement of the previous landlord. We were given a warm welcome by the staff, and had the offer of four, varied ales inc a mild. All were in excellent condition. I don’t know Toms background, but he clearly has passion about the beers he is serving. I’m sure as trade picks up, as word gets round, more pumps may appear. There is a pump local cider going on shortly. There are also the usual keg ciders, lager, spirits etc for those not so into their ale. As there is no food served on the premises, ( there is an abundance of local food outlets within walking distance, which they are quite happy to be taken back and eaten in the pub ) the pub relies totally on its drink sales, so guaranteed quality for the punter. Nothing on last night, but live acoustic music on very often, contact pub to find out when. It’s only a small place, so imagine it’d be anything very loud. Overall, the pub has a really warm feel to it, especially the room at the back with inglenook fireplace, beams, and comfy sofas. We had a great evening, and wish Tom success in the future with this new venture. We’re relying on youngsters like yourself to ensure there’s a decent independent free house for the enthusiast. Good luck!

This is such a hidden gem of a pub. It's easy to miss in the corner of Evesham's main square, Marketplace. Once inside the pub is so cosy, with a real fire and comfy chairs in the snug ready for winter. The landlord sources local ales and ciders so there is always something new to try. We were overnight in Evesham and enjoying a quiet evening when we spied this little oasis of beer in the corner of the square. James the barman was super helpful and introduced us to the owner (the brewer) and his wife. Lovely people. There are 4 or 5 handpulls on offer from a light bitter to a more ‘bitter’ bitter, amber ale right through to a excellent dark stout at over 7%. The locals in the bar were very friendly and we enjoyed a few beers in great company. Seek it out if in Evesham, you will enjoy. No shandy drinkers or smooth flow lovers in sight.

It has to get 5 stars as it's the only pub in Evesham trying to be a bit different. All the beer is home brewed - if it's on the stout is excellent, but all of it is usually very good. There's a roaring log fire in the back for winter evenings and a range of live music. Should you attend the acoustic session on a Sunday afternoon you may be treated to one of the landlords excellent cakes. The building is interesting - previously an able house, shop and, allegedly, a brothel! It's cash only

We visited here for a Father’s Day lunch. Luckily we could just walk-in, as we hadn’t actually booked a table. The cheese toasties that we had were so good. They were so buttery and crispy. The sweet treats were also amazing. I had a kinder bueno cookie which I very much enjoyed! The only negative about this place was that it felt quite dark inside. Obviously it’s a barn, but it felt very enclosed not having any windows or another door to see outside. It looked as though they were building an outdoor area when we visited, so it would be nice to go back in the summer.
