The Anchor Inn in Wychavon

Took them up on their two fish and chips for £18. The meals were excellent. Crispy batter, tasty haddock, crispy chips with fluffy centres. Best we've had for a good long while. And not too big either so could walk away not feeling over stuffed. We'll done Anchor.

Oh what a find! Really enjoyed the warmth of this pub - friendly welcome by Ben and curry night was really special (thanks Chef!). The “Delicious Sticky Toffee Pudding”… was! Beer range superb - real ale HPA and Butty Bach. Really liked this pub v much. Quick update: returned for a second evening. The Frickles were so good, veggie pizza v good, homemade coleslaw, and gammon steak with duck eggs perfect. 11/10 Thanks for everything Jack! Love your passion for food. Great pub!

Wonderful lunchtime experience. Really friendly and helpful staff, dog friendly, plenty of parking and the food was superb. Had the frickles, pork belly bites, a pepperoni pizza and the home made fishcakes. Pork belly in particular was excellent. Lovely welcoming and comfortable pub.

We came for a Mother's Day lunch, and the staff were friendly, but the length of time waiting for our food was far too long,we were told twice that our food was just being plated up then waited another 5 minutes or so before it did come out. We didn't order any desserts as we didn't want to have to wait 45 minutes again for the pudding to come out . Lots of people were waiting to long for their food and desserts . Food was just ok.

It has a pub quiz every other Tue, which is well attended with a pizza to keep you going. Good beer and a happy publican.

We had an overnight stay in the area and decided to try the Anchor Inn - this turned out to be a really good decision. We had an excellent meal. The menu had a good selection, and the food was freshly cooked and delicious. We had excellent, friendly service from Bailey. We would love to return if we're in the area again.

Polite, knowledgeable and a great asset to the place. "It's the people who make the place" and this was certainly true. We have friends in and around the area and we will definitely be recommending this place. P.s Great Gluten free range.

We were away for a weekend break and we booked a table for two in advance. When we arrived the bartender addressed me as sir and said that he’d reserved a table for us by the fire, or we could sit in the main restaurant if we preferred. The food was absolutely banging and full of flavour. Our waitress, Ellie, who was only on her fifth shift was attentive, humorous and really made us feel special. We’ll defo be back to work our way through the entire menu.

My family came for lunch and we all ordered the Sunday roast, it was delicious with lots of vegetables. The huge Yorkshire pudding was excellent and the beef cooked to Perfection. The pudding - Eton Mess is the best one I have ever tasted!! Staff were super friendly and attentive.

Great band last night, we thought we would eat before, good idea, pie was great and atmosphere was very friendly.

Lovely food and atmosphere, we had the squid bites and halloumi for starters which were amazing, we had the brownie for pudding which is the best brownie I've ever eaten.

Lovely pub, great atmosphere, real fire, dog friendly and the food was fabulous, we had the burgers which were homemade and delicious.

Sunday Roast undoubtedly is the long standing British Institution and my most favourite meal. I love traditional Sunday Roast at the Anchor Inn with choice of meat (chicken, beef, Turkey or combination of any two of your favourites), yummy vegetables and especially how they always prepare extra gravy for us without any alcohol in it on our request is great. ❤️❤️❤️

Food was great tasting, piping hot and well presented. My only gripe was being charged £3.60 for a pint of blackcurrant and soda ( I was driving) and my wife £2.70 for ½ a pint of the same as she doesn't drink alcohol. £6.30 for a pint and a half of soda water with a dash of blackcurrant cordial. This is ridiculous pricing of soft drinks. Soda water in pubs used to be free with just a nominal charge for the cordial in it. 😡

Quite a long wait, very busy, food very good though.

Somewhat subdued place lacking atmosphere...gents' toilet door needs hard clean.. dirt sticky paintwork on doors...when was it cleaned last time?? Sunday roast lunch unimaginative..

We had a pint here on our way back from walking to bredon tower. And what a treat it was, thatchers rascal on tap. Then i looked behind the bar, and they had Stan's Cheddar Valley. Hmmmmm mmmmm. 1 pint turned into 2. A lovely pub with a pool table and plenty of outdoor seating. We didn't eat but you can download the menu then order from your table. Easy as that. The food looked very good. The next time we stay in Andrew's field campsite,we shall be sampling the menu. Happy cheerful staff, a proper good ole pub. 🍺🍺👍👍

Visited here with my wife and daughter and we all had different main courses which were all really tasty. I was also able to use my NatWest taste card which made it a great deal. My only reason for taking off one star is that whilst only 3 tables occupied the service was a tad slow.

Lush food and ate outside on a lovely sunny day. Lots of umbrellas for shade. Lots of choice and great gluten free options. Loved it

Called in today on the off chance we could get food, the staff went the extra mile got us coffees and teas as we were cold and wet, then we had food even though they were due to close soon. Food was amazing

Popped in to the Anchor Inn as we had just visited Croome NT. The lady behind the bar was very polite and very friendly. We ordered Chef's pie and Hunters Chicken, both meals were very nice and well presented. The price was a little higher than we usually pay but was definitely worth it. Great service, we would recommend a visit here if you are passing through. Look out for the signs on the road through the village. Thanks for a lovely lunch.

Don't be put off by the pubs exterior, it's not fancy but the food is excellent and second to none. If it's available give the butternut squash risotto a go. It's an unpretentious side street local pub which is a rare find these days and deserves the glowing reviews.

This has become my local so i am a bit biased, but in all fairness it is an excellent pub The food is very good - it is unpretentious pub food - fish and chips, steak and ale pie, gammon and eggs, sunday roast etc all of the food i have had has been very good the ales are excellent although the choice of lager is a bit limited the place is very cosy with a great big fire the staff are very friendly and helpful - they even hold your dog while you take a comfort break! and the prices are reasonable on todays standards......... so would recomend this place to anyone who wants a nice cosy country pub

We had lunch on Valentine’s Day and everything was superb. The food was excellent and I would say the service was outstanding. Would highly recommend.

Don't be fooled by the appearance of this ordinary village pub the food is exceptional, smaller plates are always available although not advertised as are sandwiches. Service is top notch too.

One of our lovely local hostelries. Jack and the gang did us proud on Burns night. Robbie would have been delighted with the very Scottish menu, the atmosphere (whiskey tasting !) and address to the haggis by Dougie Aitken dressed in full regalia. Excellent evening

What a great place - WELL worth the 100-yard detour from the main road! Great pub atmosphere, Awesome food (great breakfasts, decent main menu, eye-popping Sunday roasts), a small range of ales but they are really good, a young but professional staff, and Jack (mine host) leads them well and really looks after his customers. The accommodation is not cheap but there is a reason for that - it too is fantastic! I would rate this 4.99 out 5, the squeaky floorboards upstairs being the only letdown. Honestly, this place is superb. If you think otherwise, have a quiet polite word with Jack and I guarantee he’ll listen. Don’t stay on the Main Street - Eckington has so much more to offer and The Anchor Inn is the perfect place.

Well after a few years I Found Jack and the food was excellent as it always was when he was manager of a previous establishment locally. A warm welcome was wonderful and excellent staff well done Jack and I will be back very soon

We arrived, after dark, at the end of quite an unpleasant very rainy journey, with fingers crossed that all would be fine. And it was. The entrance, and the interior were twinkly and inviting and there was a warm buzz about the place. The bar guy showed us to our apartment which was clean, warm and spacious. Our evening meal nicely cooked and priced and served.. Will return

I have been here more than once and have always had great food. It's a lovely pub with a great atmosphere. The staff are very friendly and go out of their way to make your visit the best.

Booked two night stay here, stayed in the foxwelp accomodation, this consisted of a bedroom, sitting room kitchen bathroom. Very clean and homely. Breakfast included, and cooked fresh. Staff very friendly and attentive, had food in the evening, again cooked fresh and plenty of, will definitely stay again if in the area

Was in the garden all day, couldn’t be bothered to cook, decided to try the Anchor for a quick evening meal. I had Thai Green Curry which was awesome and my wife had the Hunters Chicken, she loved it and the chips were fantastic, I had to try a couple! Pub food can be hit and miss, but this is definitely a hit! Couldn’t fault it!

Friendly service with a good range of beers and cider.

We dropped in on the off chance of a table and there was one. We used our Tastecard so had 2 meals for the price of one. The bar man recommended the home made pie and it was amazing, both me and my wife had it. We’ll be back again.

I last came here over 10 years ago and was deeply unimpressed. Last night I experienced the exact opposite. We had a fantastic evening and the food was 10 out of 10. Jack and his team deserve to have this place packed out every night

Stayed bank holiday weekend. Young staff were excellent for Sunday lunch service and we were made most welcome. The lunch was very good, freshly made and cooked well. Great clean good size rooms. Breakfast in the morning was super and again the service was excellent and nothing was too much trouble. I don’t write reviews often but felt compelled to do so because of how we were treated by all of the people at the Anchor.

Good beer, good service, friendly staff, the food however could have been better. The Sunday roast was rather bland. Good portion. The red cabbage was VERY sweet.

Stopped for lunch for the tree of us. I had the sausage baguette which was very nice. Beer perfect. Others had the shrimp and the BLT baguette. Service attentive and friendly. Definitely recommend.

The Anchor is set in the centre of a small and beautiful village. Rooms are good and quiet. Service and hospitality second to none. Meals were excellent: royal portions and great taste. Good parking facility on the premises.

This pub has by far one of the best Sunday roasts I have ever had. The portions were a great size, and so tasty! The giant homemade Yorkshire pudding was incredible. We turned up as a table of 11 at 5pm on a Sunday evening and the bar staff/ waiter’s were nothing but helpful. They table checked, asked if we wanted anything else, came over and did drinks orders! The manager was also very on it with checking we had everything and was very helpful when asking what else should we do whilst we are in the cotswolds, very good people manner about him and genuinely wanted to help. Would 100% return if we were back in the cotswolds. Can’t fault it here.

The entrance was dark and gloomy. That all went away with a very bright and friendly welcome from the staff. The menu was varied and reasonably priced. The food was not only exactly as described but was presented without fuss and looked interesting. This was a misleading look because the taste was soul soothing. I had the tart. Roasted veg on a pastry base with balsamic dressing on the plate. All the taste all the texture the stilton topped it off beautifully. Then Anchor Mess for pud. Me and my daughter stopped off for dinner while waiting to collect someone from the local sailing club. 2 very friendly and helpful bar staff. It was busy for a monday night so is obviously poular. we ordered 2 chicken burgers and they were incredible,...

Absolutely fab Sunday roast! There Yorkshires are stunning. Great little friendly pub and the accommodation is very comfortable.

Stayed here when doing a couple of sections of the Wychavon Way, nice clean rooms, friendly staff, food and drink good. No complaints, would stay here again!

Stayed one night excellent service and staff. The room was very clean and spacious. Had a drink in the bar and found the locals very friendly. Breakfast was 1st rate. Locally grown produce and tasty. Needed a certain type of bandage for an accident I had with the car door in the morning. The lady (sorry did not get her name) who had served us breakfast managed to get me one. Thanks for a great stay and will see you again.

What a lovely place! Staff were all very friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Our "room" was actually an apartment..kitchen living space, bedroom and bathroom. All spotless and very comfortable. We booked in for dinner and were not disappointed; generous portions and delicious! Breakfast was excellent too. We will definitely visit this little gem again.

Jack erfüllt einem jeden Wunsch. Weil mein Transporter wegen Kühlware am Strom hängen musste, hat er mir sogar sein Auto angeboten, damit ich das Fitness (5 min entfernt) besuchen konnte. Es ist 24 Stunden geöffnet und sehr gut ausgestattet. Das Bett war super bequem und ich hab sehr gut und tief geschlafen. 2 Zimmer mit Küche und Wohnzimmer. Einfach top Preis Leistung. Abendessen und Frühstück war auch sehr lecker
