Shelley & Sarah's in Cambridge

when we go into Cambridge we always call in to Shelly and Sarah's for a lovely Bacon roll and a mug of tea. we even take our grandchildren there as they love the food and drinks. The prices are very good and reasonable and nothing is to much trouble for them.

This is a place to visit for a great bit of lunch when in Cambridge City centre. We have been here as a couple for omelettes, burgers, hot dogs and steak baguettes. The food has been consistently great and has seating in the market place to take in the true Cambridge ambience. A large amount of locals visit so we believe this is testament to how good the food is. The is plenty of seating with space for disabled people. A great selection on the menu at a very good price - Steak Baguette with onions for £7. The steak was done spot on! The ladies were polite and friendly. We could not ask for more thank you. Walk past the lights and fancy boards and give this place a visit on the market square. Great food, good value and friendly service. If you are a couple, family of seeing a loved one graduate sample the food here.

Loads and loads of places to choose from in the near vicinity, I’m glad we choose this one for our quick lunch. Tasty food, very friendly service and well priced. Big menu. A few seats. It’s simple and very effective. Lovely!

The best around I always come here for my bacon sausage on toast which is delicious the staff are very friendly I don’t even have to ask what I want the guy already knows what I want would highly recommend

Great friendly service from Shelley and Sarah offering fresh local produce. It is a must for people wishing to relax or simply a quick delicious menu with limited time. This is my first port of call in Cambridge. I enjoyed a very moist tasty cheese bacon burger with fries and a coke. Prior to this i enjoyed the double burger which almost beat me. Until you dine here you will never properly enjoy a burger. I note a couple enjoying steak baguettes

I work in the city centre, and so this has become one of my regular morning spots! The coffee is brilliant, the bacon sarnies are fantastic, the people and the service is amazing! Whether its first thing in the morning, or stopping there for a quick bite for lunch - cannot recommend them highly enough! Head down and try it for yourselves! Can't wait to be able to get fresh coffee and a sandwich first thing in the morning come winter, will be the most perfect start to the day!

I now work in the town centre and visit this place frequently. Often i just want a tea, it costs a quid, half the price they ask in the coffee shops. They get a steady trade, including many regulars. I watch people coming out of the passage opposite, eating their big macs and people coming from the other side of the market eating a burger from the "gourmet' stall. These guys are missing a trick - tuck into Shelly and Sarahs cheese burger and see the light! The sausage baguettes are huge and the bangers are good quality. The bacon sarnies are packed. They have a few tables and chairs and if you look behind their wagon there are picnic benches supplied by the council. While you eat look ip at the sky and you may be treated to a view of the towns Pereguin falcons. The three members of staff a freindly and helpful, its a great little place, espcially if you want good grub on a budget.

As market food goes this is definitely the best we have encountered. The fare is served in good time, it's fresh, the baguettes are warm and the fillings are delicious and all at a very good price. Every time we go to Cambridge we always have lunch at Shelley and Sarah's and we have never been disappointed. Well worth the five stars.

I have lived in Cambridge for a year and can absolutely say that Shelley and Sarah's is the best breakfast in town. The service is very quick, quality very high, and the entire team is so nice and friendly. Highly recommend.

We called here twice on the same day it was so good, must be the best filter coffee in Cambridge. Staff were extremely friendly. We decided to try a bit dog which was delicious.

This is the umpteenth time I have visited S and S and I have never been disappointed. The service, speed of delivery, fare and value for money is second to none. On top of that this time we sat in the warm sunshine, it could hardly be better.

Good quality traditional British breakfast fayre. Friendly staff with sunny dispositions. Great location for recovery after an evening out in Cambridge.

Very small portions and not very nice. Bacon tasted like cardboard. Very rude woman as well who acted like I was putting her out by asking gor food.

If your looking for good quality unpretentious food this is the place for you. My egg and bacon baguette was delicious. Topped off with very smooth flat white it was just the start needed. A popular local food fan in a good spot on market square in the middle of Cambridge. Recommended

The stall in the Market Square, very friendly and helpful staff and excellent value. We love crusty bread and their french loaf with bacon and onions is to die for! Obviously all fast foodish and the drinks are excellent value as well. When in Cambridge we always eat here. Excellent.

My husband and I were wandering around the Cambridge market looking for a place to sit and have some lunch. ( so much choice ) We were about to give up and go back to the hotel to eat when we came across Shelley and Sarah's. Oh my word what a find. We ordered two steak baguettes. I was a bit weary about ordering the steak as I thought it may be gristly or tough but to my surprise it was superb. I've paid over £25.00 in a restaurant for a steak and it hasn't been as good as this. It was cooked to perfection and really juicy. The portions were big and when the baguettes arrived I said to my hubby that we should of ordered one and we could of shared but I'm glad we didn't as it was so good. We will defiantly be going back there when we are next in Cambridge and maybe try something else like their bacon rolls ( that I've red so much about ) The baguettes were only £5.00 each which by Cambridge prices is very good. They have a seating area where you can rest your legs, have something to eat and drink and watch the world go by.

There are many wonderful food stalls on Cambridge market, serving delicious meals from all over the world - but sometimes you just want a good old burger, and if so this is THE place to come! I live and work in Cambridge, and whenever I've come here for an occasional lunchtime treat, rather than my usual sandwiches, I've never been disappointed. A stones throw from the overrated, over-processed fast food "restaurant" that everyone in the world seems mad about, coming here you get a huge roll, jam-packed with very generous, freshly made content. My indulgence is the bacon & egg burger: a quarter-pound beef burger, two large pieces of bacon, a fried egg, and optional (free) onion and fresh salad - all for £4.80! Half the price of a Five Guys, and far bigger, this is amazing value. You won't regret it!

Took my party of 11 on a Sunday lunchtime and we had a great experience, under a very pleasant sun. British comfort food, freshly cooked, very tasty and served with courtesy. IMHO one of the stops not to miss at Cambridge Market.

I’ve only ever stopped here for a bacon roll but they’ve never disappointed. Nice soft roll, lots of butter, decent amount of tasty bacon. Nice to wander around the market while munching on it.

Went there with the family for breakfast and got an excellent meal, freshly prepared, well worth the little money, staff very friendly and a good place to have a break from shopping, do not look for a restaurant - it is kind of a kiosk on the market!!

I've been coming here for a few years now, pretty much every time I'm in the city. It's also a must-visit when I have guests staying marking the start of a day out sightseeing. The bacon is perfect, the roll is soft and the cuppa is just basic tea or coffee in a mug. The sausages, baguettes and eggs are all great too. It's not fancy, it's not pricey and it's great.

If you want to feel and talk to the real life in Cambridge and have the best cheapest and fastest breakfast in town you can't go past this hard working family business.

Fixed tea van with seating on Cambridge market square. Real sausages, proper bacon, breakfast plates etc. Run by friendly locals. Great trad English fare and of high quality. If only there were more places like this in the city.

Great bacon/sausage/egg rolls/baguettes etc. Fast, good value, friendly service and surprisingly great coffee. A nice place to sit and eat it too, right in the middle of things in Cambridge's historic market square. A view of Great St Mary's and some college buildings distracts you from the endless delivery lorries.

Whenever I feel too lazy to prepare breakfast or lunch, this stand is always a great option for a quick meal. They serve burgers, bacon, sausages, chicken, beans, eggs, onions, etc. mixed and matched, with more sauce choices than I'd ever need. They do eating in and takeaway, and take all sorts of requests about the food because again, everything is freshly cooked on the spot. The portions are quite large and the price quite cheap, typically ranging from 3 to 5 pounds for a main, depending the order. They also brew coffee and sell bottled drinks, nothing special but always nice to have. The staff is very welcoming and talkative, so the few minutes wait for food is never boring. Overall, awesome people serving simple food with great quality at a sincere price. Would recommend to anyone, traveler or local, young or old, solo or in a group, for a quick breakfast or lunch.

I really fancied a burger so I stopped here. All the staff and customers were friendly and chatty, so it was a great atmosphere. I got a double bacon and cheeseburger. It was HUGE! Everything about it was good: good quality bread and cheese, fresh salad, tasty meat, good helping of onion. A lovely lunch!

Every time we go to Cambridge we always treat ourselves to a sausage and egg baguette and coffee at S& S.

Unfortunately I can't come as often as I used to but trying to have my late breakfast at Shelly & Sarah's at least once a week. Food and drinks are excellent as well as the service. :) Thank you very much guys!

I followed the tasty scent and arrived to this nice kiosk. Friendly owners, tasty food. I had a bacon, eggs and black pudding baguette and tasted really good! Recommended!

I visit Shelley and Sarah's at least twice each week after I've been swimming.They have a good choice of breakfasts at very reasonable prices. I switch between eggs, bacon and porridge depending on my mood.

Have been visiting Shelley and Sarah's for over 10 years, every time I visit Cambridge! The Tea and Bacon and Egg Baguette which I have on a regular basis are the best in Cambridge! Fresh, well cooked and very keenly priced. The staff are all lovely and helpful, and and you can sit and watch the hustle and bustle of the Market square in a peaceful historic environment. A great place to have a snack and a good mug of tea.

Shelley & Sarah's is the best way to start your day. The food is always great and the staff are always friendly. Located in the centre of town, nestled in the market it's a great place to watch the world go by.

This really is the best place to grab a bacon baguette and people watch. Next to the bustle of the market, but with plenty of space to enjoy a peaceful sit down and an excellent cuppa, you'll find it's also the friendliest place in Cambridge - not to be missed.

I've lived in Cambridge for over 20 years, but only recently started going to Shelley and Sarah's, and (almost without fail) each time I've ordered the delicious Spicy Chicken Baguette. Each time, it's been wonderful, and the service has been excellent, and its on the 'sunny side' of the Market Square, to boot -- well, sunny by Cambridge, UK, standards! -- and so Shelley and Sarah's is a great place for a late morning or early afternoon treat, and to watch the townsfolk, students and tourists amble by. Prices are reasonable, there are usually ample seats, and there are great bookstalls and the like nearby to browse, in the Market, before or after your snack. I recommend it very much!
