I've had an amazing meal.the team are so personal to each of their customers needs esp will adapt to anything when asked. Can't get there as often as I'd like ! Owner doesn't like to see you get a 'small' portion of anything. Amazing service amazing food. All prepped to your personal order so prepare to have a very slight wait it's not mass prepared food. Love the humour and decor it's really old school and funny x

What a hidden delight. We were told about this cafe and visited today about 11 am. Very welcoming, staff lovely, enjoyed the banter and there’s a good selection on the menu of things to eat and drink at reasonable prices. The cheese scones were the best I have had. Highly recommend.

Lovely quirky stop off next to the Northbound A1. Great food, wonderful place and very friendly staff. The rear outdoor sitting area overlooks farmed fields with the Cheviot Hills in the background. We had quiche and salad, panini, homemade carrot and coffees and very nice it was too. We wholeheartedly recommend a stop at the Canny Cuppa.

We are regular visitors to The Canny Cuppa and we took family visitors for brunch. The food was delicious, the staff were very professional and the atmosphere was full of humour. Our young relatives can’t wait to visit again. We have been able to text ahead of visits to ensure the availability of the food on our extensive wish list. Yummy treats are always consumed and savoured.

Nothing too awful but a bit chaotic service. Cakes and deserts perhaps better than the savoury options. Tea pot is bottomless which is a novelty these days - but in the past it used to be a ‘new brew’ whilst this visit it was clearly a re-soaking of the original bags. A quirky setting and the owner is very friendly.

I can’t believe we’ve passed this place hundreds of times travelling up and down the A1, well we finally turned in and what a little gem of a place it is. We ate sandwiches while sitting outdoors in a little sun trap and ended up having a little cake takeout. As a Geordie you can’t help but say what a canny place this is ha, looking forward to trying afternoon tea withe the parents.

We called in here for a late lunch with our teenage daughters and old greyhound while travelling up to Northumberland. A very warm welcome for us all including the dog, brilliant helpful service and wonderful homemade food. Sandwiches and toasties were great comfort food (homemade chese savoury was a favourite) and the brownie and tiffin for later were just perfect. Prices were great too. A wonderful find, we'll be back.

This is how a cafe should be. A warm welcome, friendly service and ‘proper’ food. We have stopped off here a few times when passing and enjoyed a breakfast or mid day cake and brew. All the ingredients are good quality. Everything was top quality. Even our dogs were welcomed and spoilt with a titbit from the owner. Great food, great service. Just perfect. What more do you need?

The postal address had a Morpeth post town, even though it is close to Amble. Finding it with the aid of a satnav was essential. A lovely sunny day and the field out front was very busy. All sorts were there, a food concession was selling pizza. The beer was varied, but great. Just a pity i was driving, no carry out bright beer is available. Only in cans. Such a shame, would have loved to taken away some of their heavier beer approx 6% ABV Staff were friendly and the interior accommodation was good.

This place is a totally fantastic! Do not miss out on the 'Kipper in a Bun'. I wavered, and thought to maybe have a 'Banger in a Bun' although was so glad I went with the Kipper. Perfectly cooked Kippers, Lemon mayonnaise, in a soft white roll eaten on the beach was just divine. Wife's comments were 'That was Lush!'. Great friendly service and all locally sourced delicious produce. Even the coffee was from Holly Island! All in a free car park!
