A truly great dining experience. My fish pie was delicious as was all of our party's food. And while Jasper's is all about the fish they were happy to cater for my wife who has a number of dietary requirements (including being unable to eat fish). Connor waited upon us and Ryan was chef. Both of them were fantastic, attentive and skilled. I can't recommend Jasper's highly enough.

Fabulous meal shared with lovely people (and dogs)

The fish oriented menu was varied and really looked great The food when it arrived was well presented and very tasty especially the lobster. The 2 owners were friendly ,efficient and very professional. A great evening.

After seeing this place and reading the excellent reviews we popped in at 15:00 just on the chance and fortunately got a table. It’s a very small venue but the decor is lovely with a comfortable, more intimate feel about it. My wife and I loved it. We were sat at a table near the back and the service was excellent - a friendly and attentive waiter, who described dishes, gave advice and even took a couple of nice photos for us to post on social media. The reviews here may have overhyped the food a little. It was very good but, if I can be a little critical here, had some negatives: the fish pie was mostly mash and a huge ‘tree’ of broccoli, only getting to some meaty chunks of fish around the half-way mark. My wife thought the portions were just ok and I did end up eating some of her dish - a nice curried Sea bass dish. If you have a larger appetite it might be worth ordering an extra side. The starters were perhaps the better meals. My chilli crab soup was delicious and my wife’s pan fried scallops were also very tasty. This latter dish is served with an anchovy paste which totally overpowered the more subtle scallop flavour when she tried it but it’s was easy enough to scrape off. Prices were somewhat high but seafood quality was excellent. A very enjoyable experience. Thank you, Jaspers.

I booked Jaspers for myself and a guest on the 22nd. We were greeted within a minute and seated. The decor was cute and comfortable. We ordered drinks which included a Lychee cocktail which was perfect. The starters were brought out in around 10 minutes and we had the pan fried squid and the langoustines. These dishes were very very good. The sauce with the squid was excellent and the langoustines were numerous and juicy. For the mains we had a whole sea bream and Linguine. The portion size was more than enough and the fish was meaty but not dry and the sea food with the linguine was plentiful and varied. Throughout the meal the service was attentive, polite and swift. In totality I would say that Jaspers was worthy of a 5* review and was a delightful surprise.

This was a return visit for us and it didn't disappoint. Great ambience, amazing food and superb service. It's clear to see that Ryan and his team love what they do and their dedication shines all the way through in every aspect. From the moment we walked in to the moment we left they couldn't have done any more for us. I was driving so didn't get a chance to sample their growing whisky collection. Perhaps next time😉. Nice cosy bistro restaurant that specialises in fish dishes. Only has 4 tables so booking essential. Good choice of drinks but no draught, only bottled or canned. I recommend this place for sea food lovers and i will definitely be going again.

Lovely little restaurant service very attentive and knowledgeable, food excellent, small menu but very good, great atmosphere staff and customers friendly and cheerful, we will be back.

Wow, what a find. Was a little sceptical that the reviews could really be that good, but oh yes they were spot on. Fabulous seafood in a small 12 seat restaurant. Book in advance though as they are often fully booked.

Great meal and friendly service in this lovely little restaurant which we chose in preference to the harbourside competition. We would return in a heartbeat. Seafood platter very fair value at a billionty-seven pounds 😉, but seriously good quality and worth enquiring about (in advance) Dog welcomed and he loved the homemade dog treats.

Wow, what a fabulous quirky little place this is! Food was fantastic, (even though it took me ages to get the crab out the shell) the cocktails were beautiful, the place itself was really warm & welcoming, loved it. The waiter was lovely & nothing was a bit of bother. Places like this deserve to get the great feedback they deserve. If you haven’t already, you have to try this place! Well Done Guys. Can’t wait until we visit again Xx

Superb food we shared the squid which had a fantastic sauce but no bread to mop it up with. Imaginative menu with a range of seasonal choices. Only downside is it was very noisy as there was a large family next to us with a small child who had a tendency to scream a lot. The restaurant is only small so this accentuated the noise.

A truly special place with the most delicious food, relaxed, friendly and warm service and an informal atmosphere that strikes the balance between being special without being stuffy. No better way to spend a Saturday afternoon! Thank you.

Incredible lunch here today, bouillabaisse was to die for. We had no room for pudding but everything else was so exceptional that we forced them down 😂 (and they were completely delicious). Service was also great. What an absolute gem of a restaurant.

Fantastic proper seafood restaurant. It's a tiny venue but had a lovely atmosphere. Food was brilliant and the waiter/barman was really attentive. We went with a 1 and a 3 year old and they called ahead to let us know they didn't have a high chair because of how small the place is (which was fine with us but something to be aware of for tiny ones) they were also very polite and patient as the kids wanted to watch everything that was going on.

On a bit of a Uk tour we stumbled across amble and ended up eating here. The service was incredible and the food was amazing. Brilliant interior. Some of the freshest food I’ve ever had. Best meal I’ve had in years. They even included some food for the dog (see picture)

Great food, expensive but worth it.

Everything from the food to the service to the setting was outstanding. Loved it from the moment I walked through the door. If you've not been .......get yourself there.....you will not be disappointed. AMAZING!

Pleasant restaurant, quiet and relaxed with a friendly hostess. The food was the problem. Was this meant to be lean cuisine ? Portion sizes inadequate, and the crab legs too small to extract meat. After three courses here I felt underfed. The meal was not worth £55.

We love this little bistro and visit everything we stay in the area. The chef is amazing and his fiancee is a total delight. So lovely to find interesting vegetarian food on a menu. All the meals were delicious.

Amazing experience at Jaspers. As soon as you entered you knew you were in for a seafood extravaganza and we were right. So much choice of beautiful, fresh seafood and great ambience. The service was excellent, staff were friendly and offered lots of advice on the choices. I had the oysters, chilli garlic prawns and seafood risotto. Words can't describe how good it was, definitely food for the soul and made my heart sing.❤️

If you do one thing book a table at Jaspers Bistro. The ambience with great music , rustic setting, is the prelude for the most exquisite service and food. Without doubt the service is impeccable. Food is mouthwatering, fresh. beautifully cooked in the smallest kitchen by a great Chef. My husband ordered sea bream which was mouth watering good. My fillet steak was cooked to perfection. The meal was absolutely superb If you are lucky enough to book a table, sit back relax, enjoy the best experience in Northumberland .

Ridiculous booking process. If they can't be bothered to talk to me, I can't be bothered to give them my money. Went to The Old boathouse instead.

We visited tonight, what can I say... But amazing! Friendly attentive service and fabulous food. We had two well behaved dogs with us who were made to feel very welcome too, the homemade dog biscuits were an added bonus. The chef owner came to talk to us on our departure. Overall one of the best seafood restaurants I have visited. We will be back. Thank you.

A fantastic restaurant in Amble. Small (only 12-14 heads so book in advance!) but you won’t be disappointed. Fantastic service by the gentlemen who greeted us and a great overall meal. NB: primarily fish (as expected) but also some meat options all well priced. Will be back!

We were travelling from Edinburgh to London and found this place from a quick google search and WOW! is all I can say. The food there is amazing, We did not book and tried our luck to just walk in so heads up the seating is small so just be aware of that (2 tables of 2 and 2 tables of 4) and we got lucky as there was only two people in there at the time we got in. It is 1 waiter and 1 chef and the waiter was brilliant and the service was excellent and was welcoming from start to finish. The chef’s food was amazing and really well presented. If you want brilliant service, seriously great food with a wonderful waiter come to Jaspers Bistro. Thank you guys so much!

What an outstanding gem of a restaurant in a beautiful part of Northumberland. The attention to detail extends well beyond the food, from the subtle background jazz music down to the waiter looking quite dapper. There's plenty of choice from the menu and specials board to cater for all. The restaurant allowed us to take away the cheeseboard and dessert as our taxi was waiting, how many restaurants would allow tourists to take away the plates!! They are being returned today I hasten to add. Anyways, thankyou to the cook(owner) and waiter for an amazing birthday evening.... Would recommend booking in advance to guarantee a table.

Amazing atmosphere and delicious food. Highly recommend.

Super warm and friendly service from a husband and wife business owner. We ordered the seafood risotto and it was devine. Mussels were unavailable so they kindly replaced them with lobster claw in the risotto. Scallops were very nicely done too, chargrilled on the outside.

Second visit and it won't be the last. Superb quality.

Jaspers was fully booked for the evening throughout our 10 day stay in Amble, but when we visited for lunch we understood why - absolutely wonderful meal! Lovely staff, comfortable surroundings and the best risotto I've ever had!

Fabulous fabulous meal. Went for a birthday meal with wife and 2 kids, aged 5 and 9. The bistro is tiny, but beautiful and serves fabulous food. Highlights: The Bouillabaisse is exceptional- absolutely delicious. This is a dish that can either be full of flavour and we'll balanced or something inedible. This was perfect Lobster- clearly fresh with beautiful chips, much recommended Curried Sra Bream- just YUMM! Our 5 year old still struggles with complicated flavours and they made him a simple home made pasta dish which was just lovely. It's clear that there is a huge amount of passion and love in this restaurant and it shines through in both the fod and service. They clearly have no interest in being the biggest l, but they did produce some of the finest fish dishes I've ever had. Recommended without hesitation- truly exceptional.

I took my family to Jaspers for the first time on Sunday evening, and I would 100% return next time we’re in the area. We ate a variety of seafood and meats between us and the food was delicious! I had the seafood linguine which was very tasty, but also light and fresh. The atmosphere in the restaurant was wonderful, the restaurant has a real warmth about it. The waiter was very attentive, polite and made the experience perfection so thank you! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

A relaxing, comfortable restaurant with fantastic, friendly and professional service as well as incredible food. We went all out and had 3 courses with an array of fish and meat dishes. All the fish was cooked to perfection from the grilled sardines to the fish loaded pie that I'll be thinking about for some time. The flavours were balanced, the portions were generous and the variety was impressive for a small restaurant. We had a ball and will definitely be returning. This is a magical place, tell your friends!

The catch of the day (seabream) was excellent. Very well cooked. I was disappointed with the chilli crab soup starter. It was tasty enough but if I’m paying nearly £11 for a bowl of soup I expect it to have chunks of crab in it. I also didn’t get why they added VAT on afterwards, although they did explain at the start that the prices were excluding VAT.

Absolutely fabulous restaurant. Food was outstanding. Seafood risotto and mushroom risotto were both delicious with Eton mess to finish. Staff very attentive. We will definately recommend and visit again when in the area.

Dined on 5th August and could not have had a better night. Great service and easily the best food in Amble. We have been to Michelin starred Potted Lobster recently but Jaspers beat it convincingly for value and quality. Exceptional!

Eating at Jaspers was an great experience! The food was first class, the service was fantastic and made for a wonderful seafood experience! Jaspers were also very accommodating in helping arrange a surprise meal for us.

Couldn’t have wished for better for my birthday meal. Scallops were spot on, sea bream cooked to perfection (special mention for the potatoes) and the doughnut pudding (shared) was delicious. Reasonably priced, great service, lovely atmosphere and great cooking.

We booked a table for lunch on 2/6/22 during our week’s holiday in Amble after reading some great reviews, and I can safely say Jasper’s deserve 5 stars. It’s a really cool, rustic bistro with just 4 tables so you need to book! Great friendly service, I liked that you can see the chef at work, and the meal was exceptional. Husband had scallops to start which were so tender, and fillet steak for his main which was one of the best he’s ever had. I had chilli crab soup (delicious) and seafood risotto which was amazing and included a whole crab, mussels and other fish; the chef gave me some tips on eating the crab ( first time for me) and said the meal should be an experience which it truly was. If you want to treat yourself to a special meal out then I highly recommend Jaspers, it’s not cheap but we would go back again anytime. Oh and Jasper’s is very dog friendly too, bringing a bowl of water and homemade dog biscuits to the table.

Wow what a lovely little bistro. The food and service were absolutely incredible. We went in a party of 4 and we all thoroughly enjoyed it.

What an absolutely superb restaurant. The food was possibly the best seafood we have ever had (from anywhere in the world), whilst the service and welcome was top class too. Highly recommended. I have added pictures of the fish pie and curried sea-bass...delicious!

Had a lovely meal here to celebrate my husbands 60th birthday. The food was well presented and delicious, the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about the food and the wine, although the bistro is small it makes the atmosphere more cosy and friendly. A great evening was enjoyed.Thank you.

What a gem of a restaurant. It's small and cozy. The food is amazing - fresh ingredients freshly cooked, beautifully presented. Fresh herbs, samphire, pea shoots accompany the dishes. They take great care about allergies. The guys are so friendly and welcoming. The kind of place you keep going back to and never get bored of the food or surroundings.

An absolute gem, just off Amble's highstreet. Incredibly warm and friendly, with the best lobster I have ever had. I can't rave enough about it, well worth a visit.

It's gone up a notch! We visit the area regularly and we had our annual pilgrimage to Jasper's and we felt it exceeded previous experiences we had enjoyed. The new 'lighter' ambience works, the 'front of house' service projects warmth and the food was sublime. This restaurant is an absolute must for any foodie!

My main of bouillabaisse was lovely, lots of selection and fish very fresh, bit disappointed with lack of a Sunday roast like we had seen on past menus. My parter had a rib eye steak that was overcooked and a bit dry. Don't understand why vat is not included in menu price, lobster was priced at £40 but really it was £48! To be fair we were told they had recently gone vat registered so just alter the menu prices to suit.

We came for seafood, and we got seafood all fresh fantastically tasty,lot of know how and effort went into the cooking and service of the food ,only kicker is the 20% vat is not on the menu prices which they do tell you about beforehand but its still a kicker at the end of a bill ,still an excellent evening and its nice to know the vat goes towards good causes like number 10s party food and drink "allegedly"well worth a visit if your in the area but book its a small but lovely place 👌

Lovely find, amazing service and really accommodating for vegans!

From start to finish probably one of the best meals we have ever had . The small compact restaurant is warm and cosy. The staff are attentive, friendly and very knowledgable about the dishes . The lobster was delicious and the chips cooked in beef fat were irresistible- the steak was cooked perfectly . The cheese and biscuits were good , and a huge bowl of chocolate brownie went down a treat . We were here celebrating a birthday in Amble for a few days . We were pleasantly surprised at this beautiful quaint town, with plenty of fabulous restaurants to choose from . We felt this one was the best ! We went to 4 while we were there .

We came upon this restaurant just before the first lockdown and have since made the journey and visited a few times each year. It continues to be absolutely amazing! fresh homemade food with fantastic tastes, highly recommend see you in the summer 😀

This has to be the best restaurant in Amble. The restaurant was recommended to us by the owners of the holiday apartment we stayed in & we were not disappointed. 5 stars for service - the waiter was fantastic and so friendly.5 stars for the atmosphere and decor - it’s absolutely beautiful. 5 stars & more for the food - it was so good we went twice during our holiday. The seafood risotto is absolutely delicious. My family even had oysters which they loved. Even our dog was welcome and he was given a fresh bowl of water on arrival. We will certainly be back the next time we visit Amble. Well done to the owners and staff of this fabulous little restaurant, you are amazing.
