The food was delicious but the mash on my fish pie was cold in the middle. I’m a bit of a freak about hot food being hot.

What a lucky find! We struck gold and Jasper had a cancelled table for us. Amazing, fresh locally caught seafood. Nothing was overcooked. A rare treat 😁

Really nice food let down by the service. Booked a table at 7:30 on a Friday night and the place was full (although there are only around 5 tables). Our starters took almost an hour to arrive. One of these starters was the smoked salmon so didn't even require any cooking. We were offered no form or apology or explanation. It seems that there is only one chef in the kitchen who can only cook for one table at a time so we were left waiting until all the other tables had been served before us. We'd almost finished our bottle of wine by the time the starters arrived and were very close to letting the waiter know that we no longer wanted the food. The waiter himself was very friendly and knowledgeable, the poor service was solely down to the kitchen. Although the food was very good I wouldn't return as the slow service ruined the evening.

We went to Jaspers for my daughters birthday yesterday and had a wonderful meal. The service was really great and the food was so fresh and tasty. We would thoroughly reccomend.

Fantastic evening meal the night after doing the Northumberland Coast Mighty Hike. Food gorgeous, service very friendly and though small it has a great atmosphere. 3 of us had the fish options and 1 the mushroom risotto. If back in the area would definitely return.

Fantastic food at this small bistro with super friendly hosts. We went for a special lunch with friends and tried the monkfish, the sea bream and the small ked Salman nfour ways. Very good food. Then had a bread & butter pudding with Cointreau and fresh raspberries -delicious! Only 5 tables so much in demand - recommended!

With only about 14 place settings you need to be sure to book your table well in advance. As visitors to the Alnwick area for over 30 years we’ve seen restaurants come and go and can say without a doubt this is the best restaurant we’ve experienced in that time. Everything on the menu is fresh and extremely well prepared. The service is friendly and welcoming. As far as value, in comparison to other local eateries it may appear to be expensive but if you appreciate good quality food, beautiful prepared and presented, Jaspers is far and above anything else we have found near Alnwick.

Booked for lunch here after reading so many positive reviews. I love a bistro with quality food and I wasn’t disappointed. We had two seafood dishes and the fried Monkfish, homemade chips and pea puree was the best I’ve ever had. Excellent service and will certainly be back.

Forget 5* TripAdvisor - Jasper's in Amble needs to be awarded 'Michelin Stars'!! Quite simply the best restaurant you'll ever come across. From the moment you arrive Connor, Melanie and Chef Ryan surpass the highest quality of dining experience. Food is outstanding - we just wish we could have persuaded them all to relocate to our home town of Stratford on Avon. Thank you all for last night, can't wait to visit again very soon.

Eating at Jaspers was an great experience! The food was first class, the service was fantastic and made for a wonderful seafood experience! Jaspers were also very accommodating in helping arrange a surprise meal for us.

This restaurant/ bistro is tiny, 4 or 5 tables and that's it. It's easy to walk straight past it. I am pleased we didn't walk past. We had lunch here ( booked well in advance ). The husband and wife team creat a super friendly atmosphere and happy to advise on the dishes being offered. Sea food is the main ingredient on the menu. Everything we had was super fresh and cooked to order ( you can watch your meal being cooked ) You have to book for an evening meal. There is ample car parking close by. Most enjoyable experience.

Nice cosy little Restaurant. I give it 10 out of 5 Stars(sadly on google you can only give 5 stars). The fish dishes are amazing, the best I ever had in my life, you can really tell that the Chef is putting in the most importsnt ingredient to his dishes...Love...he cooks with passion and everything you eat is just perfect. The service by Melanie is absolutly amazing. Booking is highly recommended as the Restaurant has limited seating, so book in advance. Also a great selection of Cocktails and Whiskeys and of course some really nice wines. They also are dog friendly and your dog will get a nice threat of a self made dog bisquet...I never ever been to a place that goes the extra mile so far to even make dog bisquets as a threat for your dog.

Quite simply the best meal we've had on our two weeks in gorgeous Northumberland. A cosy, 14 cover, restaurant with excellent front of house service from Melanie and stunning cooking (all cooked to order) by Ryan. With an obvious emphasis on fresh fish but also with meat and vegetarian options, the meal was exceptional. Starters of prawns and squid followed by seafood risotto and crispy pork belly...all wonderful. A great specials board, from which the raspberry and Cointreau bread and butter pudding was delicious. Jasper's has a lovely atmosphere with service and food to match. So good in fact that we are back again later in the week. 100% recommended.

Absolutely incredible seafood restaurant. Highly recommended. We ate here last year, and I can still remember the food as if it was yesterday. Service was excellent. I would eat here every night of our holiday if we had unlimited funds! The seafood is to die for, and is freshly caught locally. What could be better?! 🐟🐠🎣⛵️

The best seafood restaurant you will ever go to!!! Food is absolutely outstanding, my langoustine had the sweetest juiciest meat, the smoked salmon starter was out of this world. Salmon pate incredibly tasty and beautifully cured salmon. Fish pie definitely the best. My husband loved is sea bream and couldn't be more complimentary about his chicken livers and he's fussy. Service excellent. This is truly a restaurant you will never forget. You must book as very small. My second time and I just love it.

What can I say. The food was out of this world and the place itself is a delightful find. The staff were lovely, attentive and genuinely friendly. I would highly recommend it and will certainly be back!

Went here for my birthday, service, atmosphere and staff amazing. Now onto the food, best mussels ever and whole sea bream delicious. Will definitely go again when we return to Amble.

Went for meal last night and hugely impressed with how pretty the small dining area was, how fab the service was and the food was amazing! They allow well behaved dogs in and our two even got complementary home made dog treats! My sea bream was to die for!

Fantastic food, menu and service. Had we been in area for another night we’d definitely have returned. Best seafood meal we’ve had since the Anchor Hotel in Johnshaven (Scotland).

Had a lovely meal at Jaspers. It's a tiny little place with 5 tables giving it a really intimate and personable atmosphere. The mains took quite a long time to arrive but the food quality was great.

We had dinner here on the last night of our Northumberland holiday and it was the best meal by far. The smoked salmon starter was superb - so many tasty items on the plate, the smoked salmon was hardly necessary ! The lobster so well cooked and chips to die for. Sea Bream fresh and cooked to order. Raspberry bread and butter puddings a triumph. A small restaurant, so booking essential, and be prepared to wait for food to be cooked - it is well worth it !

This place is intimate, 4 or so tables, serving 14 covers max. We have been visiting Jaspers on and off over 10 years. Ryan the chef uses the freshest and finest ingredients. The food never fails and is simply sublime. If you dont like seafood they serve superb steak dishes. Front of house is friendly, informed and organised. The wine list (for this sort of place) is ok. However it is for food experience that you visit Jaspers....and you will not be disappointed. Must book well ahead. In fact we already rebooked!

This is the best restaurant in Amble in our view. Intimate, brilliant service and the food is glorious. We always try to eat at Jaspers at least once when we're visiting Amble. It's not cheap but worth every penny.

I went with my wife and we really loved the food very fresh and tasty and the service is excellent I recommend this restaurant to everyone big thanks to the chef definitely will be back .

What a lucky fine before we go home from our first stay in Northumberland. This is a small restaurant with a big atmosphere ... superb food and great service. No more needs to be said apart from "Book in advance!" 10 out of 10 🙂

1st visit back since lockdown. Decor has been tastefully upgraded and food was even better than we remembered. Wonderful meal, great service and ambiance. Will definitely go back next time we are in Northumberland.

Beautiful beautiful place, a must visit if you're in Amble, but you do need to make a reservation beforehand as the place only has around 4-5 tables however the food and the service and the care they put into it is just wonderful! Food is absolutely delicious, locally sourced and the atmosphere is great. Highly recommended,we will definitely go again

Simply perfect in every way - from the moment you walk in you feel at home. The staff are warm, friendly & welcoming, the seafood is better than anywhere in Paris & ludicrously cheap given the quality. Open a branch in Manchester & put me down for a loyalty card!

The most welcoming and lovely staff. All food (starters and main) were utterly DELICIOUS . Chef is purely talented. Great atmosphere and gorgeous decor. Would recommend to anybody and can’t wait to go again!

A truly great dining experience. My fish pie was delicious as was all of our party's food. And while Jasper's is all about the fish they were happy to cater for my wife who has a number of dietary requirements (including being unable to eat fish). Connor waited upon us and Ryan was chef. Both of them were fantastic, attentive and skilled. I can't recommend Jasper's highly enough.

Fabulous meal shared with lovely people (and dogs)

The fish oriented menu was varied and really looked great The food when it arrived was well presented and very tasty especially the lobster. The 2 owners were friendly ,efficient and very professional. A great evening.

After seeing this place and reading the excellent reviews we popped in at 15:00 just on the chance and fortunately got a table. It’s a very small venue but the decor is lovely with a comfortable, more intimate feel about it. My wife and I loved it. We were sat at a table near the back and the service was excellent - a friendly and attentive waiter, who described dishes, gave advice and even took a couple of nice photos for us to post on social media. The reviews here may have overhyped the food a little. It was very good but, if I can be a little critical here, had some negatives: the fish pie was mostly mash and a huge ‘tree’ of broccoli, only getting to some meaty chunks of fish around the half-way mark. My wife thought the portions were just ok and I did end up eating some of her dish - a nice curried Sea bass dish. If you have a larger appetite it might be worth ordering an extra side. The starters were perhaps the better meals. My chilli crab soup was delicious and my wife’s pan fried scallops were also very tasty. This latter dish is served with an anchovy paste which totally overpowered the more subtle scallop flavour when she tried it but it’s was easy enough to scrape off. Prices were somewhat high but seafood quality was excellent. A very enjoyable experience. Thank you, Jaspers.

I booked Jaspers for myself and a guest on the 22nd. We were greeted within a minute and seated. The decor was cute and comfortable. We ordered drinks which included a Lychee cocktail which was perfect. The starters were brought out in around 10 minutes and we had the pan fried squid and the langoustines. These dishes were very very good. The sauce with the squid was excellent and the langoustines were numerous and juicy. For the mains we had a whole sea bream and Linguine. The portion size was more than enough and the fish was meaty but not dry and the sea food with the linguine was plentiful and varied. Throughout the meal the service was attentive, polite and swift. In totality I would say that Jaspers was worthy of a 5* review and was a delightful surprise.

This was a return visit for us and it didn't disappoint. Great ambience, amazing food and superb service. It's clear to see that Ryan and his team love what they do and their dedication shines all the way through in every aspect. From the moment we walked in to the moment we left they couldn't have done any more for us. I was driving so didn't get a chance to sample their growing whisky collection. Perhaps next time😉. Nice cosy bistro restaurant that specialises in fish dishes. Only has 4 tables so booking essential. Good choice of drinks but no draught, only bottled or canned. I recommend this place for sea food lovers and i will definitely be going again.

Wow, what a find. Was a little sceptical that the reviews could really be that good, but oh yes they were spot on. Fabulous seafood in a small 12 seat restaurant. Book in advance though as they are often fully booked.

Great meal and friendly service in this lovely little restaurant which we chose in preference to the harbourside competition. We would return in a heartbeat. Seafood platter very fair value at a billionty-seven pounds 😉, but seriously good quality and worth enquiring about (in advance) Dog welcomed and he loved the homemade dog treats.

Wow, what a fabulous quirky little place this is! Food was fantastic, (even though it took me ages to get the crab out the shell) the cocktails were beautiful, the place itself was really warm & welcoming, loved it. The waiter was lovely & nothing was a bit of bother. Places like this deserve to get the great feedback they deserve. If you haven’t already, you have to try this place! Well Done Guys. Superb food we shared the squid which had a fantastic sauce but no bread to mop it up with. Imaginative menu with a range of seasonal choices. Only downside is it was very noisy as there was a large family next to us with a small child who had a tendency to scream a lot. The restaurant is only small so this accentuated the noise.

Incredible lunch here today, bouillabaisse was to die for. We had no room for pudding but everything else was so exceptional that we forced them down 😂 (and they were completely delicious). Service was also great. What an absolute gem of a restaurant.

Fantastic proper seafood restaurant. It's a tiny venue but had a lovely atmosphere. Food was brilliant and the waiter/barman was really attentive. We went with a 1 and a 3 year old and they called ahead to let us know they didn't have a high chair because of how small the place is (which was fine with us but something to be aware of for tiny ones) they were also very polite and patient as the kids wanted to watch everything that was going on.

On a bit of a Uk tour we stumbled across amble and ended up eating here. The service was incredible and the food was amazing. Brilliant interior. Some of the freshest food I’ve ever had. Best meal I’ve had in years. They even included some food for the dog (see picture)

Great food, expensive but worth it.

Everything from the food to the service to the setting was outstanding. Loved it from the moment I walked through the door. If you've not been .......get yourself there.....you will not be disappointed. AMAZING!

Pleasant restaurant, quiet and relaxed with a friendly hostess. The food was the problem. Was this meant to be lean cuisine ? Portion sizes inadequate, and the crab legs too small to extract meat. After three courses here I felt underfed. The meal was not worth £55.

We love this little bistro and visit everything we stay in the area. The chef is amazing and his fiancee is a total delight. So lovely to find interesting vegetarian food on a menu. All the meals were delicious.

Amazing experience at Jaspers. As soon as you entered you knew you were in for a seafood extravaganza and we were right. So much choice of beautiful, fresh seafood and great ambience. The service was excellent, staff were friendly and offered lots of advice on the choices. I had the oysters, chilli garlic prawns and seafood risotto. Words can't describe how good it was, definitely food for the soul and made my heart sing.❤️

If you do one thing book a table at Jaspers Bistro. The ambience with great music , rustic setting, is the prelude for the most exquisite service and food. Without doubt the service is impeccable. Food is mouthwatering, fresh. beautifully cooked in the smallest kitchen by a great Chef. My husband ordered sea bream which was mouth watering good. My fillet steak was cooked to perfection. The meal was absolutely superb If you are lucky enough to book a table, sit back relax, enjoy the best experience in Northumberland .

Ridiculous booking process. If they can't be bothered to talk to me, I can't be bothered to give them my money. Went to The Old boathouse instead.

We visited tonight, what can I say... But amazing! Friendly attentive service and fabulous food. We had two well behaved dogs with us who were made to feel very welcome too, the homemade dog biscuits were an added bonus. The chef owner came to talk to us on our departure. Overall one of the best seafood restaurants I have visited. We will be back. Thank you.

A fantastic restaurant in Amble. Small (only 12-14 heads so book in advance!) but you won’t be disappointed. Fantastic service by the gentlemen who greeted us and a great overall meal. NB: primarily fish (as expected) but also some meat options all well priced. Will be back!

We were travelling from Edinburgh to London and found this place from a quick google search and WOW! is all I can say. The food there is amazing, We did not book and tried our luck to just walk in so heads up the seating is small so just be aware of that (2 tables of 2 and 2 tables of 4) and we got lucky as there was only two people in there at the time we got in. It is 1 waiter and 1 chef and the waiter was brilliant and the service was excellent and was welcoming from start to finish. The chef’s food was amazing and really well presented. If you want brilliant service, seriously great food with a wonderful waiter come to Jaspers Bistro. Thank you guys so much!

What an outstanding gem of a restaurant in a beautiful part of Northumberland. The attention to detail extends well beyond the food, from the subtle background jazz music down to the waiter looking quite dapper. There's plenty of choice from the menu and specials board to cater for all. The restaurant allowed us to take away the cheeseboard and dessert as our taxi was waiting, how many restaurants would allow tourists to take away the plates!! They are being returned today I hasten to add. Anyways, thankyou to the cook(owner) and waiter for an amazing birthday evening.... Would recommend booking in advance to guarantee a table.

Amazing atmosphere and delicious food. Highly recommend.

Super warm and friendly service from a husband and wife business owner. We ordered the seafood risotto and it was devine. Mussels were unavailable so they kindly replaced them with lobster claw in the risotto. Scallops were very nicely done too, chargrilled on the outside.

Second visit and it won't be the last. Superb quality.
