Super friendly service, the perfect amount of milk and tea plus the sausage muffin was delightful. It's also a lovely setting, feels really cosy, the other customers were also super friendly, has a real community feel. Loved it!

Wonderful cafe restaurant. Took my family who were visiting from Australia to enjoy a Sunday Roast and get together. Fabulous vegan meals, snacks and desserts. The staff are passionate about their food and are so friendly. The decor is warm and inviting ☺️. We enjoyed sausage and onion plait and the best nut roast I have ever eaten. I had no room for dessert however my son and his girlfriend managed a biscoff cheesecake and lemon tart - wonderful. Would thoroughly recommend - and they are dog friendly too 🥰

I am not vegan. I am not even vegetarian, but what an amazing experience. Family and friends booked the whole restaurant for my husbands Sisters 60th surprise birthday party, and what a lovely evening it was. The three course meal was exceptional, what a very talented chef. The two lovely front of house ladies were so attentive. I can't praise the Cradle enough.

Great coffee, good spot to sitt.

This was so welcoming into what felt like the Chef’s home. It was cosy, the ambience was superb. The food was truly delicious and what was real, we felt we were part of the family. The tastes of the various dishes was just amazing and every dish was so different. The Chef was accompanied by his lovely wife and son who were amazing and helped make the family atmosphere with such a famous chef at the helm.

Great place for good food and friendly atmosphere (dogs included 🐶 )!! So many savoury and sweet options and amazing coffee!!

Lovely little cafe and very good service with attention to detail. We ordered sandwiches and coffees. I was very impressed with the quality of the sandwiches. Generously-packed fillings for both the tuna and the cheese sandwiches. Will definitely be back in the near future. x

Lovely warm welcome from what I assume was the owner. My husband said it was one of the best sausage sandwiches he has ever had, good quality sausages. I had the gluten free bread with poached eggs, had to ask twice if it was gluten free as it was that good! Owner makes it herself. Poached eggs were perfect. Will not go anywhere else when visiting Helmsley. Little gem of a cafe that deserves to do well.

Fui a ver a mi mamá para tomar un café y el caballero detrás del mostrador habló con nosotros y tener un poco de charla. Tenía un nervio atrapado y me ofreció un paracetamol para ayudar con el dolor y como siempre el café es fantástico. Siempre un gran lugar para visitar.

Went here for our Xmas lunch......fabulous!! Staff were very attentive, food was excellent and the atmosphere perfect. Everything was catered for. Holly and her team did an amazing job of looking after us We had so much food. Very tasty and I can honestly say they excelled. Holly could provide half the amount of food and charge the same if not more.....can't honestly see how the business profited as the food was of very good quality. Holly bare this in mind For future events. You deserve to earn a good living from your cafe

Walked into Strummers this morning to be greeted to a lovely young lady who gave us a warm welcome. I ordered a small breakfast whilst Carol had a toasted cheese and onion sandwich. The quality of my breakfast was top notch. G and C from Tredegar

Such a disappointing experience. Very expensive (£11 for soup and one slice of bread which didn't come with any butter) and even more money for a "hotpot" which was saag aloo. The saag also was basically overcooked potato, which was absolutely tasteless with hardly any spinach and, again, a small slice of bread with no butter (many vegan butters could have been provided!).

Visited this afternoon to have a coffee to warm up having walked from Whitley Bay. Found the staff friendly and efficient. The mince pies were delicious as we're the drinks. Highly recommended!

Lovely afternoon tea for three. Two of us vegetarian but didn't feel like we missed out at all. Everything freshly prepared and friendly service - even after I got the time wrong and arrived 30 mins later than expected! Would recommend highly.
