The best restaurants serving Seafood food in England

Exactly what you want from a great local fish & chips shop. Great options that always taste fresh (not greasy and heavy), good portions (maybe too good for my waistline) and the service is second to none. The price you pay is reasonable and worth every penny. Decided to dine in one night last week and same great family service. After 2 visits, it's now my local fish & chips shop. Can't imagine going anywhere else.

Long unnecessary wait as fish well overcooked it was fresh but poor quality had an unacceptable odour so obviously not the required quality either change supplier or look after your fish properly! It was also greasy and the batter extremely flat Scollop only fit for the bin as it had been lying in the hot top for ages obviously chips average and overcooked The owner looks like he doesn’t want to be there and has a face like thunder and completely ignores his customers a customer relations course is urgently needed here In these days of mega expensive meals it is essential to make the food fit for consumption this sadly really was not!!!

Had a couple of meals from Kirkgate Chippy now… (not local, but do treat myself to a chippy when tramping in Tad)… every item I’ve had has been delicious… went all out this time for the fish and chips. There was not a regular sized fish at the time available but were only too happy to serve me a large, (charged at the same price) which I really appreciated, they also had a deal for a free pot of mushy peas. I’ve been to some good chippys over the years but the fish from Kirkgate is by far the best I’ve had! The batter and fish itself was perfect, normally I love a bit of tartar sauce on the fish but didn’t have any nor was there a need! The service from the staff is always a nice experience, with a warm welcome and a friendly vibe. I look to future visits when in the town. 👍🏼

Traditional family run chip shop cooking their food in beef dripping. Really tasty!! I've been here many times, and it's been consistently good. They care about the quality of the food they serve you, and you can taste it. It's my favorite chippy in Nottingham.

Best chippy in Bedford by far, fresh and tasty cod n chips. Chips are the highlight for me.

We live in Lancashire and as most of the fish and chip shops here are pretty dire...we have to travel to Yorkshire for good fish and chips...this place is superb.

Have previously attended and throughly enjoyed the experience. Unfortunately it was closed on Wed 28th August to the chagrin of my grandsons who had been primed for the breakfast. Update, 9 Apr 25, glad to find it open this time. Most impressed again.

Benbow street chippy has been there forever, I'm 54 and i went here as a kid, staff are friendly and take your order quickly and everything is cooked fresh to order, fantastic place to get a treat as we do on paydays, prices are on par with most other similar places, we only go to these takeaways once a month so it was a welcome treat that didn't disappoint.

Droped in to get Cod & Chip.. It was just out of the fryer.. And it was Fantastic.. The best Cod & Chip in years.. Highly Recommended

We have eaten here as locals several times and nothing is too much trouble, however large the group is. The food is superb. Fresh fish in Tempura is exceptional. The fusion of flavours and the variety of tasty dishes is a real treat. A really lovely experience.

My normal chippy changed ownership and the quality fell through the floor... found this amazing chippy! The portions are amazing the size of fish Wow and the fish itself easily the best cod I've ever had! Amazing thankyou so much!
