Ozze's place. Great Chippy We had fishcakes & chips. The chips are good value lots there & taste lovely. Fishcake was crispy on outside & a great filling. Highly recommend Will definitely go again. Thank you.

We got 2 portions of fish and chips to take away for us and our little coonies and were amazed that the portions were so big and they were delicious too. The chips were super crispy and the fish too and super big and not dry at all. If we go to the Isle of Wight again we will get fish and ships there again. Cod was absolutely huge as was the portion of chips. A large portion would feed 4/5 people

The amount of food you get is insane. Ordered 1 haddock (fish only) & cod+chips. We received chips with the haddock as well for free. The total amount could've fed at least 4 adults.

the food is fine, but the chips are quite greasy and oily from here. personally, i prefer a drier take out chip with less grease. however, i know a lot of people do rave about this chip shop as the portions are large, and that i can comfirm.

What a find 2 large Cod 1 portion of medium chips and a saveloy was cooked fresh took a seat outside 10 minutes later Cod came up about 10 inches long beautiful batter huge chips all 4 under £19 shame we come from KENT 5(*****)

Great food, really convenient parking. Fantastic portion size. Fed me, my wife and our 4 year old with a large cod and large chips (+leftover chips)

Given 4 stars as in our group of five people, two liked the batter on the fish less as it was thick. Ginormous portions and really lovely food. Great service and value for money. Would recommend.

Amazing plaice..... We were on the IOW for holiday found ozze's on google thought we would try it. Could tell it was a popular place as the queue was out the door but we got to order very quickly. The portion size are massive and brilliant value for money. The staff are friendly and the place is clean. Food was served piping hot and tastes great. When we are back next year this will be our 1st place we go get food.

What a brilliant find. Huge portions and really nice, friendly staff. I asked for 2 cod and chips and kids nuggets and chips. The lady serving said I wouldn't need the kids chips as there would be enough for 4 with the 2 mains. Those chips fed 2 adults and 2 children for 2 dinners plus a lunch on the third day 😂 I'll emphasise it again, HUGE portions.

Very honest guy. I went in and ordered for my whole family weeks and weeks ago, Ordered 5 gherkins to go with it,when I arrived home they weren’t there. I hadn’t even remembered, it was so long ago. Went in last night and they remembered me immediately ! The money was waiting for me in a little bag, and 5 gherkins for free, 😂, I,ll be eating them for a week . Many thanks to a very friendly honest guy and his team x x

Wow! I’ve never seen portion sizes like it. We bought 4 large cod and 4 chips to feed 5 of us and it certainly did that. 2 large cod and 2 chips fed all 5 of us with ease. We gave the other 2 portions to our neighbours on the campsite. Fish and Chip shops on the Mainland could learn something from these guys. Would definitely use them again.

Bought 4 medium cod and two portions of chips. Gargantuan portion size, we must’ve thrown away more than 2kg of food, ridiculous. Only take cash - really, in this day and age?! The chips were pretty good but the fish was awful, overcooked and swamped by carpet-thick batter. This place gets a very high rating, all I can think is that people score well on the portion size, I am trying to alert more discerning fish and chip hunters, to tread with caution.

Just had a large chips fish pie and nuggets for the kids and it was spot on all that under £20 bargain and it was very nice, the size of my fish Waw!!! Im definitely coming back weekly

Portion sizes are very generous, bordering on huge. We had haddock, my deduction was that the batter was overly thick and not crispy, more dough like. One large portion of chips was enough for 3 of us with some left over.

Yet again another amazing chippy dinner. The large and medium cod was cooked to perfection. No skin no bones. Plenty of chips in a large for 3 people. Friendly staff as always.

Stopped by on a lunchtime after a walk really wish I hadn’t! . Not sure what they have done but it’s not as good as it was before sorry but you’ve changed something in the batter or it’s the oil .

Best chippy on the island by far. Huuuuge portions (a small chips feeds three of us with leftovers!). Chicken burger is amazing! Service is always friendly and efficient. Queues do get massive though, especially at the weekend, so do expect a bit of a wait outside.

Well worth the money, it's very popular so expect to wait, they are usually queuing out the door, but worth the wait the girls who work in there are diamonds, they treat you with respect and are just so lovely

Best fish and chips on the Isle of Wight. Generous portions and well cooked battered fish. Staff are extreemly friendly, Ozzie does the best plate of food. This gem of a chippy is well hidden in Newport and a locals secret. Bring your appetite with you.

Delicious cod and the large portion is enormous. As are the small portion of chips which could probably feed 5 people. Definitely rate this chip shop however, giving 4 stars because the chip portion was excessive and wasteful.

Very nice fish and chips. Perfectly cooked to order fresh haddock in a nice crisp batter and nice crisp chips, neither were greasy. Really good value at £10.50 for haddock, small chips and mushy peas (cash only). Only complaint is that the portion size for the small chips was really too large - I like a big portion but this was just ridiculous how many chips there were, the small could have easily fed a whole family. Maybe they could offer a half portion which would still be larger than most places serve and would lead to less going to waste.

Been going here since moving to the Island. Cod and battered sausage are our go to and both are always delicious. Chips are excellent and batter perfect. Staff are always so friendly and very quick and efficient service. Best chip shop on the Island

Went to grab some dinner from Ozze’s last night to take down to gurnard and watch the sunset with the kids, first time here and I couldn’t believe just how friendly all the staff was! It was really busy but I didn’t have to wait any lover than 15 minutes for my food to be served fresh and piping hot. The lady serving couldn’t have been more thoughtful and having asked for forks and napkins she had wrapped them all nicely for us and also included a lollipop for each of the kids. When I opened our large cod it was like nothing I had ever seen it was HUGE! Honestly big enough to feed 2-3 easily, we will definitely be getting our fish and chips from here in the future without a doubt, really friendly and bloody good food!

Fast service, perfect chips! Just had haddock and chips and jumbo battered sausage and chips x3. Waited about 5 mins maybe then walked to the park across the road to the park. The small chips is massive, I've got a big appetite but what I couldn't eat was like a large chips anywhere else. The haddock was lovely though the batter was missing of a small area, nice crispy crunch, lovely. Gravy was a little thin for me but fine for everyone else. Well worth a try, highly recommend, we will be back. Can't remember exactly but £36-38 for five people, bargain

Finally found it! Since moving to the island in 2020 I've been looking for the best fish and chips, and by far, this is the one. My medium cod (which was enough for 2 😅) was both meaty and moist wrapped in a delicious crispy batter. We also ordered our Nan a OAP plaice and chips which I reckon would have fed 4 OAPs 😂 It seems they are known for their large portions so I highly recommend to not over order (unless you want a chip buttie every day for the following week).

Good food sadly poor service, yet again items forgot from the order not untill i got home to find this lovely surprise. So yet again another return trip to get the items that should of been put in and CHECKED..... they are to busy chucking the orders out and not CHECKING the order. The fact you can't pay on card to also adds to the frustration. Please sort these issues out....

Just ate here for the first time and all i can say is...WOW The fish and chips are the best ive ever had, the batter was light and crispy, chips were amazing and the portions were exceptional....its a 10 out of 10 from us. We will definitely be using this establishment in the near future...i urge anyone who hasnt to give this plaice a go :):):):)

Found this fish and chip shop a year ago and every visit to the Isle of Wight involves a visit here. I would say it's the best fish & chips on the isle of Wight - but I would be lying! It's the best fish & chips in the UK. The staff are friendly, the place is absolutely spotless. The portion size is worth the cost and the fish and chips cant be beaten. Well done Ozze!

Wow- amazing food and portions! I asked for large cod and chips twice; the lovely lady serving said we’d be eating for days if we ordered 2 large chips for the two of us- she wasn’t wrong!! We had 2 large cod (both enormous and lovely) and 1 large chips and couldn’t finish. So glad we went by the reviews here. Heartily recommend! It is cash only, but there is an ATM right next door.
