What a great place! Really interesting menu executed to perfection. Went for the beer but would go back again and again for the food. Fantastic service and lovely atmosphere. Highly recommend a visit!

In Glossop for a short break and we walked past a few times and kept meaning to drop in as the atmosphere and look of the place seemed awesome . We finally came tonight and were not disappointed, we ordered the camembert, fries, pork neck and halloumi and beets and every dish was absolutely exceptional, great flavours and just above and beyond what you expect from a small town brewery. The staff were just as exceptional, so friendly, knowledgable and happy to recommend beers to novices like us. They also went above and beyond. I can't recommend the place enough. If you havent been...why not!?

You are missing a treat if you have not tried the food at the Howard Town Brewery. We tried the Specials Board last night and they were all special! Slow roasted belly of pork with pink lady stuffing in a apple cider jus, morrocan style lamb chops with a zingy chilli and citrus sour cream, Tartiflette baby new potatoes in a rich creamed cheese and smoked pancetta and a green veg side. Finished off with a white chocolate vodka strawberry & pink pepper cheesecake. The food is exceptional. And don't forget the beer!

Recently rebranded as Distant Hills, this brewery has come on leaps and bounds. Particularly with Head Chef Dan and Alex at the helm, the atmosphere created is just what you want when enjoying one of their home brews with one (or 6 😝) of their brilliant small plates. Using high quality fresh ingredients, the taste of all the food me and my partner had here was just unreal. The specials of the day- slow cooked pork belly and tartiflette created by Dan were a joy to eat. Even the side dishes were just as taste-filled, everything came together so well. We will definitely be coming here again, just a fantastic experience. Really good prices for the quality of food you receive, and the customer service and personable nature of staff is second to none. You are guaranteed a great experience from beginning to end.

Popped in for a few plates on a gloomy Saturday. Wow, what a treat. Lovely to have hand-cut homemade chippies with tasty halloumi and beetroot. Vegan sweet potato jerk was delicious with great spicing. Tried some amazing homemade sauces with the chips and of course a well chosen pint. Welcomed by friendly staff. Great ambience and music. Will definitely be back when I next visit Glossop. Top notch, thank you. (Dog are welcome too)

Took family here for beers / meal , best hidden gem in Glossop , to try new menu. The new dishes are partnered with their beers , a novel idea but works a dream . Perfect combination & would recommend to anyone… definitely returning, great vibe & awesome staff!

I have been going to Distant Hills (was Howard Town) for years, and good beer is the main draw, I have had food in the past, cheese boards Sunday lunches curry nights. I have just sampled Dan's small plates menu. King prawn and shrimp on muffin and slow roast bbq pork neck. The pork was a gorgeous plate of food but the prawn and shrimp was something else, absolutely stunning. To have this level of food and beer under one roof in Glossop is epic. 🌟🌟🌟

Called in again with friends to sample the small plates courtesy of Dan the Chef. We all loved the food. We had the Beef Bavettes again which is quickly becoming a classic go to plate at the Howard Town. Plus a Pork dish and a Rendang Style Blade of Beef dish from the Specials Board. Our friends in addition had the Mini Chicken Kievs from the Specials Board which is a great addition to the menu available. We all finished off with a lovely creamy 'white chocolate and escapade cheese cake'. And then there is the beer! Great company good food and beer what's not to like!

Great place to eat. The food is excellent. Went with friends. We had the burger and the Duck (a special) along with some fries. We had a few beers (tried the Kerala and the Xanadu) and really enjoyed our visit. The staff were great, really friendly and there was a great vibe with the music. Will be going back. Try it - you won’t be disappointed.

Went with friends who live locally. Didn’t know the Brewery/ Tap was there but will tell others as the beer was good and the food was excellent. Had the Howard Town burger and made a point of telling the Chef how much I enjoyed it. The chips were really good too. Will definitely go back.

Enjoyed some fantastic food here after a bike ride round the local roads, washed down with a few pints of excellent Distant Hills Pilsner and Hefeweizen beer. Great value and lovely setting.

Warm welcome and a superb vibe. Recently new chef serving up top rate food with no pretence. Great quality produce served up clean and honest and bursting with flavour. Go get a pint and a feed.

Chilled in Old Glossop......Great!! Lovely place, good service, drinks plentiful and thoroughly enjoyed. Had a small plate Shrimp & King Prawn on an English muffin....bloody delicious!! 👏😋

Had a selection of small plates . All were delicious. Beer was on point and reasonably priced. Had beef,prawns,beetroot. Then ordered a Camembert and got some complimentary chips. If you are in Glossop check out this little gem.
