I have been to the Frustrated Chef a handful of times now and each time I have the same experience. The food is amazing! So delicious and the portion sizes are great. Such great value for money and for the food I would return again and again. The Goats Cheese Parcels, Pork Belly and Croquettes are amazing. I also love the crispy fried cod and churros!!! However the staff are not very welcoming or attentive. There have been several visits where the staff let the whole experience down and if the food wasn’t as good as it is, I wouldn’t return. The most recent experience I can recall is that we had a table booked for 4 people on a Friday evening. 3 of us arrived and 1 was joining a little later. The staff left us without taking a drinks order for around 30 minutes until the friend arrived. Working in hospitality myself, it’s courteous to come over to the table and ask if we would like anything whilst we wait (even a jug of tap water would do!) or if we would like to wait until the friend arrives to order. The staff generally are quite slow and don’t seem to be very welcoming at all, standing behind the bar all evening. I would return and recommend The Frustrated Chef to people for the food but not the service.

This Turkish restaurant excels not only in flavor but also in service. From the moment you walk in, the staff greets you with genuine warmth and attentiveness, making you feel right at home. They’re knowledgeable about the menu and eager to offer recommendations, ensuring you have the best possible experience. The pace of the meal is just right, and you never feel rushed, yet your needs are always met with a smile. The excellent service truly enhances the overall dining experience, making it a place you’ll want to return to again and again.

Excellent pizzas, well cooked bases and interesting toppings available. Been several times now, and never been a suggestion of disappointment. Would highly recommend this small and friendly establishment. And the takeaways stand the test of delivery time!! And they do other dishes as well, but never ventured there yet as the pizzas are so mouthwatering.

Stopped in for a quick evening meal with friends, knowing full well that the quality and consistency would be as it ever is. Mr. Mangal maintains it's excellence because every bit of prep and cooking is overseen by people passionate about their restaurant. It genuinely feels like you're visiting family or friends and they are cooking up a storm for you! It's a great place to come if you are hungry and want to keep things a little informal as often the desire to just reach in and attack things with your hands is just overwhelming. It's a wonderful little restaurant and one of the must-trys in the city. You seldom see such passion and dedication in chain restaurants!

We have been to the restaurant tonight for dinner and we were so disappointed. All the sauces for the starters were like supermarket style not homemade. The pitta bread was not cooked and really soft. The halloumi starter it was only 3 slices for nearly £10. We ordered the main, a mixed grilled nearly £25 the meat was dried, the cucumber and the tomatoes were just hanging on the plate with the chips. There was no LOVE on cooking showing from the chef on the plates. The all bill was £70 and we didn’t full up, the only positive thing was the colours of the restaurants. Other then that I am sorry but there is a no return.
