The best restaurants serving Japanese food in South East

There was a line out the door because it was Saturday evening. We waited in line for 15 minutes and 5 minutes at the bar, but it was more than worth the wait.

It was not bad, but it was too salty for me.

Mi esposa y yo no apreciamos cómo se estaba hablando con el servidor, creó una mala vibra, es solo un lugar pequeño y se puede escuchar todo lo que está pasando. No está bien, me sentí mal por ellos. También huele a aceite viejo en el lugar y es persistente y desagradable.

Small portions, generic and boring menu. The tofu salad was mostly just raw vegetables cut too big to comfortably eat. Not enough tofu, sauce, rice or avocado. The kimchi dumplings were squishy and bland. I've eaten better from a motorway service station.

so i saw some cucumber hosomaki in the fridge and thought it look delicious but i was terribly mistaken the seaweed was incredibly watery and you could see visible wet marks in the box

Don't go here if you want romantic or if you want to dress up or you want space, what you get though is fantastic food, the cauliflower, tofu, chicken breast, chicken skins, aubergine etc all lip smacking delicious 😋 lots of small plates so you can sample lots of dishes, great service and a great buzz, not the cheapest night out, but absolutely worth it. If you are thinking about going on a Friday or Saturday, then you need to look a month to 2 months ahead. The only issue was trying to book online for the first time, a painful experience 😫

Amazing experience and fresh sushi. The bbq was fun, very fresh beef steak. Will be back.

My fiancé and I have visited the cafe twice now for afternoon tea, a Studio Ghibli themed one and a Valentines one, and it is such a great experience! We have to travel nearly an hour to get there but it is 100% worth it! The food is amazing, the staff are wonderful and the atmosphere is so peaceful. I would highly recommend and we can’t wait to go back soon!

Ordered chicken teriyaki rice bowl, both chicken and rice were cold, the rice even turned hard. Chicken portion was ridiculously small. Took 1.5 hrs to deliver.

Initially booked for a specific time but due to a slow previous customer we got delayed by 20mins, but that wasn't an issue for Kiko who personally called our group to let us know of the correct arrival time. Food was fantastic, Sake cocktails amazing and service attentive. Can strongly recommend the Katsu Don! Will be visiting again in the future.

Meh…. Food okay, not very authentic, quality no better than yo sushi, no Japanese chefs involved etc. but atmosphere better albeit the place is tiny. If you know your Japanese food you will be disappointed as missing the basic quality, care and presentation which is a shame. Things like uneven slices of sashimi, nigiri etc, really bad wasabi, tuna and salmon not that fresh. Overrated but certainly not terrible, we’ve definitely had a lot worse but won’t be coming back.
