Great food served with care - cool restaurant and good value… soon to be seen in Beaconsfield- cant wait

Delicious sushi with very generous portions. Really pleased we discovered this place. Incidentally we were told you close 4-5pm when we tried calling, assumed you were closed then but it would be best to put this in Google business hours. Knocked off a star for service, called many, many times from 5pm to 5.20pm - when you were apparently open - and no one answered the phone. I was surprised at collection to find just 3 tables and about 6 members of staff standing around, not looking very busy. Terrible for business not to answer the phone... most people would have given up after the first few calls unanswered - we just really craved sushi. Owner was away apparently - felt very sorry for the owner, as they have a great product but staff that clearly don't care enough to pick up the phone.

My sister and I travelled all the way here for an early dinner (4pm) and it was closed, even though it was supposed to be open until 11pm on a Thursday. Maybe update your opening times.

Great service lovely food .the negative is ,, it’s a small place and the seats at the bar are a little uncomfortable but after 6 times in 2 years , can’t be that bad , the crispy tuna 🍣 roll dynamite , is to die for ,,, the poke bowl is HUGE, service was discreet when I was eating and entertaining when I was waiting , exactly how I like it , when I had company they were a little more reserved … perfect very professional .

We visit this jewel of a Japanese restaurant every week. The food is of exceptional quality, the service is friendly and fast, and the value for money is unbelievably good. There is a reason why celebrity chefs are seen dining here.

Fantastic Restaurant what a success since opening. One of my favourite that has opened in Amersham since I have been here. Sara is a fantastic waitress who deserves huge credit for doing an incredible job. A friendly, talkative, and just all round superb waitress providing 10/10 customer service. Deserves all the credit she gets and more. Would recommend to anyone!

The staff are all wonderful, warm and knowledgeable. They make their own katsu sauce! The veggie/vegan urumaki was surprisingly good. The tofu katsu was unusual in that it used silken rather than firm tofu and was without a crispy crumb. So I think it lacked different textures. It came with a few salad leaves that were dressed and nothing else. Despite stating I was vegan when ordering, the dressing wasn't vegan. I spotted this and brought it to their attention, so that was a little disappointing. I think the atmosphere and service were great so I would be open to going back for drinks and vegan sushi but probably not hot food.

Great place to come for lunch or dinner. It’s quite a small/intimate place so booking is advised. The food is served fresh and is delicious. Chicken teriyaki skewers are definitely recommended. The service is always great and with a smile. Plenty of car parking outside on the road.

I visited Koyo sushi in Amersham today with 3 friends and I had a great experience. the service was great, our waiter Will catered to all of our needs and was very friendly. the food was fantastic, the sushi was incredibly fresh and fairly priced. I will be visiting again soon and would definitely recommend!

Having found myself in Amersham with time enough for a meal, I popped into Koyo which was nearby. This was a great decision, with a friendly and professional front of house team, and excellent food - great range and quality. Although I was on my own this time, I plan to come back with friends to enjoy a sushi platter

Great place - just what Amersham needed

I've been there twice now and ended up with food poisoning. Last time I had a crab uromaki and clearly they either don't serve fresh food or are not hygienic when making it. There are more reliable and tasty places.

Outstanding! Lovely food and compelled to leave a review for the masterclass in exceptional customer service. Alex and Max could not have done more for us, and took every conceivable measure to provision for our accessibility needs and ensure we had a great meal. So glad to have found this lovely restaurant and enjoy some tasty sushi, with a great vibe. Highly recommend!

Great food, atmosphere and customer service

Had a lovely meal at Koyo with my adult son for his birthday. We needed reassurance regarding my son’s nut allergy but nothing was too much trouble. Plenty of vegetarian options for me too. The food looked and tasted amazing. Highly recommended.

As soon as I knew my son was coming for Christmas I booked Koyo as it is a small restaurant (fewer than 40 covers) and I did not want to miss out on getting a table on the Saturday before Christmas. Consequently, I had been looking forward to it for months and it did not disappoint. As there were only two of us, we ate at the bar initially (understandably, they cannot commit a booth for six persons for just two people on a busy night) but as soon as a booth became free, they offered it to us, so we had the remainder of our meal there. Eating at the bar is nice too, though, as the staff have a chat with you and it is very sociable. It is a very friendly restaurant with a really nice, relaxed atmosphere and the owner is always very welcoming (as are the staff generally). The food was absolutely superb (as always) and service was fast and efficient without feeling rushed. The tuna dynamite roll was a revelation and is a new favourite for us. Koyo is my favourite restaurant in the area and there is nothing I can fault about it. It always delivers on taste and quality, the prices are very reasonable and it has a lovely relaxed vibe. I love this place and it is always my first choice. Dining here is always a pleasure. I look forward to my next meal at Koyo.

Very high standard fare, nice decor … great slick service

Had a great evening celebrating a birthday at Koyo. The food was great, we especially enjoyed the sushi. A really nice intimate atmosphere and loved the design of the bar. We was pleasantly surprised at the portion sizes of all the food and the the quality and taste. The staff were great at making us feel welcome with recommendations and checking on us. The plum wine and Monsuta were great drinks recommendations. Would highly recommend and we will definitely be back soon.

Visited here yesterday with my husband to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary. The staff are incredibly pleasant, patient and attentive. We ordered the Zen sushi plate, a salmon poke bowl and salmon teriyaki. It was absolutely delish. The green tea went well with the meal too. Atmosphere is cosy and the music is just perfect. Not too expensive or too cheap - quite affordable! We will be back again soon!

I brought my dad here for a delayed Father’s Day lunch (as they’re not open on Sundays) and we had such a nice meal. Team were friendly and attentive and the food tasted super fresh and delicious. Possibly a younger persons place than my 86yo dad who struggled a bit with the lack of cushions on the benches and loud music but definitely would return here. Great quality Japanese. Just wish you were open on Sundays!

Lovely restaurant with good selections of food and drinks. We came here for lunch on a Saturday just past noon and it’s already busy with a few tables. Note to self - reserve a table next time for weekends! We ordered some imported Japanese beer not commonly found in other restaurants and were pleasantly surprised. Delicious food too, good portions and really filled us up.

Have been to Koyo several times, all with a warm welcome. Amazingly priced for the large portions that you get. The atmosphere here is nice, with some family booths and a bar.

Amazing food, great atmosphere and friendly staff. After just a couple of visits Koyo has become my favourite place to eat in Amersham. Everything is authentically Japanese and the food is completely amazing. Fantastic selection of drinks and I would highly recommend the imported Japanese beers which really are a cut above. Booking is likely essential if you want to sit in a booth but eating at the bar is tremendously fun too.

I had a take out of the Tuna Nigiri and I was impressed it was fresh and tasty. I would recommend, My only issue is that they don't serve takeaway past a certain time which is a bit odd.

I am frequent customer of lunchtime takeaway from Koyo but hadn’t eaten in for a while. I did that last night with friends and had a lovely evening. The staff are friendly and attentive and the restaurant has a really nice buzz about it. The food is nutritious, tasty and good value. Thanks to Alex and team for bringing this unique restaurant to Amersham.

Great sushi and very generous portions at good value

There aren't many decent evening restaurants in Amersham on the Hill and this is def the best. Food is excellent, fresh and the service is quick and friendly. Beef Tataki or the Salmon Poke Bowl are stand out dishes, but nothing disappoints.

Amazing food, great price, brilliant venue

Koyo has quickly become my favourite restaurant due to the welcoming service of staff and delicious sushi. When I went for my birthday, my whole family were thrilled with the food and kept ordering more. We all left with a smile on our face from the amazing atmosphere created in Koyo!

The restaurant is conveniently placed, and the food is made excellently. The staff is excellent. Call in advance to confirm the working hours and space availability. The closest parking spot is on High Street and is free for up to an hour; otherwise, you must pay to park behind High Street. There is no menu for children

Had a great experience from booking to bill tonight. Called to book for me and my daughters, helpful on the phone and I then emailed to confirm and got a friendly confirmation email reply. When we arrived we were greeted by name and shown to our table, really friendly helpful service. Food was fantastic and we grazed on various dishes over the 2 hour 15 minutes we were there, nothing was too much trouble. Will recommend and will be back👍🏻

Just had a wonderful vegan/vegetarian lunch here. The tofu katsu, vegetable noodles and Oh My Veggies sushi/gyoza combo were all totally delicious, and our kids absolutely loved it. The staff were super helpful and welcoming. Amersham is lucky to have this place! Awesome :)

We particularly love that once you enter the restaurant the decor and ambiance are so well done that the experience is immersive. A meal at Koyo feels like a little holiday. The food is good, but the reason. For my 3 stars rating is the manager. Frankly dont let it put you off but for me it s a no go anymore. He was unpleasant towards us. First time because we arrived at 830pm and hadn't booked. 2 of us and there were free table. Second because we booked, 4 of us but took a bit too long to leave. I mean. I get it. Running a business is hard but there is not need to be so harsh to customers. Won't go back and I am sure he won't miss us. All the best to him.

Very tasty yummy sushi for decent price that allows you to splash out without too much worrying how much it will cost. Service was fast friendly and attentive. They offer takeaway but needs to be ordered in advance. Reservation is highly advised and a place to visit if you are visiting or local. Only dislike was the sticky feeling on tables which I assume due to the varnish on the wood not agreeing with the sanitisers used to clean resulting a permanent stickiness on its surface.
