A magical place with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. We came here to watch live music and enjoy some wine, and had an unforgettable evening! There is a real quirky, ethereal feel to this unique venue. A real hidden gem! We didn't eat here, but the food looked fantastic, and the other patrons seems to be enjoying their meals! Would highly recommend a visit.

Just a gorgeous little gem, has a great community vibe to the place. The seating is outside, which is so nicely decorated with all sorts of knick knacks and fairy lights. You can get cake and cocktails (with a good amount of alcohol!). The servers and main host are so lovely, checking in on you and treating everyone like a regular.

Absolutely lovely place - we stumbled upon it while looking for somewhere to have a drink at the end of a long walk, and Richard welcomed us incredibly warmly despite the fact that he was preparing to host a gig. We would have loved to have stayed for the music and will be back - thank you so much for your hospitality!

There is always a friendly greeting from the owner and also from the other guests there. The staff are always very vigilant, never once tripping up on the cobbled stones! The food, drinks and music never fail to please. Richard has created a very special space at the Drawingroom; whether you are on your own or with a crowd the atmosphere is a little bit of heaven. In short, what's not to like!!

Terrific music venue with music most Friday and Saturday nights. Lovely courtyard in the summer, cosy interior in the winter.

We stopped off for lunch on a Thursday which was amazing. I had the satay and my partner had falafel. Both really tasty and a beautiful, unique atmosphere. We managed to get a seat for the Friday music evening. I can not recommend this enough. The musicians playing were so very talented and the unique atmosphere with Richard’s friendly approach made for one of the best evenings I’ve ever had. Just beautiful. If you are ever in Chesham, this venue is definitely worth a visit.

Lovely cafe, tucked away down just behind the high street. I've been here in the summer before and sat in their lovely outdoor area. Just as nice inside, on a cold wintery day. Beautiful gluten free cakes to go with our coffees. Loved the hot stones offered to us to help warm ourselves up.

So glad we found this place! We got there after a long walk in the Chess Valle, which was the perfect way to end: the food was good, the atmosphere relaxing. Special mention to the time we spent with Richard, listening to music and chatting. Can't wait to be back for the live music!

We have been coming to The Drawing Room for 10 years. Richard and his team always make us feel relaxed. Great vegetarian food cakes and drinks. It really is a special place. I call it my "home from home ". Do visit.

Quirky place with fabulous food. Well worth a visit.

The drawing room is a very unique setting and a must see if you're visiting Chesham with a lot of character. Really nice service and makes you feel like you're in another country. We had a vegan chicken and rice and wonton noodles as a light meal. The food was really nice, and really nice presentation. It has a really relaxing atmosphere and lots of things for my son to admire. I will definitely be back!

This is a quirky restaurant / music venue - Richard the host really sets the atmosphere... dinner is served in the open air in an old courtyard just off the high street while various bands, singers, poets, etc entertain. This is really off the beaten track in style as well as literally. But it works. A staple of the local scene for decades.

Fabulous spot for live music and quality commestibles. Extremely friendly and welcoming. Will certainly return.

Good place to eat drink and listen to live music

The restaurant is definitely unique and very eclectic! Feels cozy and I loved to see so many upcicled pieces of decoration or furniture! It is truly beautiful and most definitely worth a visit if you're in Chesham - if you have time it's that sort of place where you could spend a day and evening eating and drinking! The staff are lovely as well! Now on to the food: the VKB - the vegetarian kebab was one of the best things I ate in a while! Would really recommend! The garlic bread was incredibly good as well! We now want to come back and enjoy some live music!

We hadn't been here for quite a while but felt right at home straight away. Only drinks today. Ambience is unique and delightful: some might say quirky, but I prefer individual. Love it!

Stopped here for brunch on a beautiful Sunday morning. We’ve lived in Chesham for years but never been here. And we’ve clearly been missing out - it’s great. Tranquil and historical setting, the drawingroom has a kind of Moroccan theme to it whilst sitting in an historic cobbled courtyard. Anyway …. The food was delicious, accompanied by crisp, nicely chilled white wine. Great service, very friendly and efficient staff. A great find and nice to meet the owner, Richard, as we left. We shall be back!

We had the most amazing evening last night at the Drawing Rooms. We’re having a weekend away in Chesham and had stumbled upon this place. Didn’t really know what to expect but what a find. You step off the high street to enter what feels like a different world. Greeted by Richard (who is just the nicest guy you could wish to meet) and we could just tell we were in for a special evening. I can honestly say I’ve never experienced a place like it. Great food, brilliant music, a great atmosphere and a whole lot of fun in a chilled out welcoming environment. Just amazing. Highly recommend and we will be back as soon as we can. About two years after signing up to the emails I finally visited the Drawing Room last night (Friday) to watch The Barnstormers. Fabulous night, great music, nice food and beer and lovely staff and owner. If this place was in LA there’d be a 3 month waiting list to get in.

Food and drink quality makes this a must. Coffee blend well balanced. The choc brownie comes warm, none of this long life stuff from other coffee shops. Breakfast portion size good. This is a place to take your time in.

Was walking down the high street on our first night in the area, heard a great singer and thought that’s live music too.. upon investigation noticed this little goldmine. Great venue Welcoming owner (Richard) made myself and partner welcome and even noticed there was an open fire. The menu was very short but the food was amazing Great night will be back soon D&J

First time visiting yesterday evening. Wonderful Simon and Garfunkel tribute band. Cosy, quirky venue, we didn’t eat but our friends did and the vegan meal looked delicious. So lovely to have this on our doorstep and will definitely visit again.

Omg, the best coffee and cake we've had for ages. The staff were really friendly and attentive and the chilled out vibe suited us. Can't wait to visit for some live music.

What a lovely friendly place, highly recommend

Beautiful front courtyard, it was raining hard at the time and there was plenty of cover. We had the veggie kebab which was delicious. Very generous pot of tea, and milkshakes was tasty and a great price. 10/10 highly recommend. Friendly staff too!

I can only describe it as a wonderful retreat with a calm and relaxed atmosphere that feels like a balm after a busy day. Richard is a delightful host, making you feel at home from the very first minute. The food is absolutely superb!

There's a gorgeous courtyard where you can sit, admire the outdoor artwork, beautiful plants and period building, and enjoy a chat with the friendly staff. The food is pretty good too and there are plenty of vegetarian and vegan options.

Outdoor seating spaced out and covers to avoid full sun. Slight delay in food and drinks delivery but made up for by delicious food.

We had a lovely time Saturday night, we were made to feel very welcome, music was incredible, was so good to be back into such an intimate venue with live acts, food was fantastic, beer wasn't too bad either!

The food served was delicious; the haloumi was cooked to perfection. Some musicians were jamming together, thankfully it didn't rain. It was a brilliant night. Everyone is friendly, highly recommend.

As soon as we saw the place from the outside it looked beautiful. When we walked in the host was really rude to us asking us to take off our masks, yelling at my partner because she refused to take it off and saying he didn't want us there. From what he said seemed like a spot only for his friends and regulars. Not recommended for visitors to Chesham.

One of the wonders of the known universe - Richard and his lovely team have the ability to transport their customers to another realm. We absolutely loved our take out last night. The food was glorious with an amazing combination of flavour across the dishes that really worked well together. We were left with a lovely warm feeling of happiness. We would highly recommend and intend to be back at their fabulous music events again soon

Walking down Chesham high street and heard some superb jazz playing - turned out to be a 5 piece brass ensemble les by Richard Wainright and some friends getting together to play - musicians who regularly play in the west end and appear on film scores like Dunkirk and the Bond movies . Coffee was lovely as was the awesome homemade houmous Combined with the music - very unexpected and marvellous lunch time Thanks to Richard who has been running the Drawing room for many years - outstanding !

The meals are a little expensive but you know whatever you get be it food or hot chocolate it is all ethically sourced. The ambiance is lovely and you can sit outside with the woodburner going. Service is very friendly. Coffee is the same price as other cafés so I like to support a local independent.

We had a lovely lunch at the Drawing Room on Sunday and it was great to meet Mark and Euan again renewing our friendships from our many happy times in Arran ! We were given a lovely welcome and then enjoyed a great lunch comprising of delicious pulled pork dishes and a tasty filo tart . This was all enjoyed along with a few drinks in a friendly, ambient atmosphere .Well done Mark ,keep up the good work in these difficult times !

Really nice cosy, quirky coffee shop and bar with regular live music

One day we were walking through Chesham and the owner of this place introduced himself. He was absolutely lovely and it was great to see someone have such pride in their business and ensure their customers felt safe and welcomed. Unfortunately we were only passing through on this occasion. We finally got to sit down properly in a group of 4 and were over come with how Unique and beautifully creative with their decorations the place was. We sat down and a member of staff was so welcoming and he was really friendly and funny but not overbearing. We got some coffees and cake and did not expect the heaven that awaited us. We ordered lemon drizzle and coffee sponge and it was served warm with sauce drizzled over it that made it even more special. Even with just cake and coffee we were checked on and I just felt so at home and comfortable sat there. As we were leaving the owner saw us and Introduced himself again and once we mentioned this was our first time but we have met before, yet again he was lovely and made us very excited for our return- particularly when they will have a music event on.

Brilliant place first time we have been here to watch live music with melinda ortner and rodney branigan and loved the intimate experience. The food provided in the ticket price was surprisingly good for vegi food being a full blown meataterian but also a veg lover as well I was pleasantly surprised

Came late morning a few weeks ago for the first time and were the only customers. After 10 minutes or so, the owner started chatting. No feeling of intrusion. We felt like we were his guests in his home. Even his cat sat on my lap! Plan to return when next in Chesham.
