How nice to go to a restaurant & come away with a really good impression. Great food, great wine & the bill wasn't that bad.

We really enjoyed dinner at this upmarket tapas bar. We ordered six dishes, which was probably one too many. The food service and ambience were all great.

First time diner at Pluma. Outstanding food. Excellent friendly responsive service.

Birthday lunch. We couldn’t choose a best dish as all wonderful, both in presentation and flavour. We will definitely be back.

Food was out of this world and the service was 1st class. Very special thank you to the waiter who chased us down the street as I’d left a gift bag under the table. Definitely recommend this place.

We had a delightful evening at Pluma one Friday in July. The food was absolutely delicious, with the meats being particularly tender and arrived just from the fire that was called Gosper (sorry if I misspelled it))). The specials were a wonderful surprise, and we couldn't try it all, but the fish was amazing. The vibrant atmosphere and Spanish music take you to the summer Spanish evening even if it's not that hot)). While the service was discreet we felt well taken care of throughout the meal."

We have visited Pluma before in the evening and were pleased to find it busy and vibrant but with a high standard of service still. This time it was for a weekday lunch and were glad to find that it was still busy enough to create plenty of energy. The menu is a manageable size,. Enough dishes to give you a choice without being overwhelming and always some specials. The staff are friendly and well informed and happy to advise on drink to food matches or how much to order. Portions are generous and five dishes for lunch was plenty for the two of us. The baby squid was tender and succulent and the jasper cooked leeks delicious in a patatas bravas style sauce. My pescatarian wife would have had the octopus but it came with Chorizo. However the water was honest in saying that, they could leave that out, but it would make the dish too plain. Many restaurants would have just served it up anyway, Grilled sardines were fresh and cooked just right. Our waiter had suggested a glass of Manzanilla to start and this was so delicious that I was tempted to stay with it through out the meal. However a glass of dry white wine was equally good. To finish the Basque cheesecake with caramelised banana was just right, not too sweet. Pluma isn't a budget restaurant by any means but our meal felt like good value. If you wanted to have some of the higher end dishes ( e.g. suckling pig) then it would push the price up, but I think the quality would justify that for a special dish. After the meal, the location, in the centre of Amersham Old Town, comes into it's own. The memorial gardens are a blaze of colour at this time of year and a walk along the chalk stream and up through the fields to enjoy the view back down to the 13th Century church, was delightful good for the digestion. We will definitely be visiting Pluma again.

Absolutely fantastic restaurant. The food was sublime, some of the best tasting food I've had in a long time! Can highly recommend the Octopus and the prawns! Will definitely be coming back again! Staff were great, very friendly and attentive!

We usually book for special occasions - this time for Father's Day. Previously never disappointed, but this time their star dish Pluma Iberica was not worth half the price and the wines were a great disappointment. For the price the Aubergine dish was unbelievably bad - you can get much better at less than half the prince at an average Lebanese restaurant. I suspect they are pricing according to affluent neighbourhood and let their original high quality standards slip. I suggest a trip to El Cedro in Bourne End Marina where the Pluma Iberica is a third less in price and you get a view of the Thames!

We had an amazing time celebrating our anniversary and Domino (apologies if we've spelt this wrong) was fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble and did her utmost to make us feel at home and make us laugh. The Iberico pork and the aubergine dishes were simply out of this world. Thank you for another amazing meal.

Upmarket tapas restaurant Staff were very attentive and knowledgeable. They recommended two dishes from each menu section, which worked well. All the dishes were interesting and delicious. Superb wine selection. Cool atmosphere.

Interesting choice in calling a restaurant Feather in Spanish. Were a group of 14 and so always a big ask in getting the service right. Starters cames out and when everyone was eating the main courses came out every so often making sure everyone always had food near them. Nice wine and I thought a lot of time had been spent on the design of the restaurant and so a pleasant experience.

As you would expect it was fairly quiet on a Tuesday lunchtime. Not cheap but first class so happy to pay a bit more.

Staying in Old Amersham for a few days, so looking for a nice place to have dinner. There seem to be quite a lot of options tbh. We chose this restaurant based on the reviews and wanting to pick at different tapas dishes rather than a full meal. We were not disappointed as the food was delicious and the sommelier recommended some nice complimentary wines. We went on a Wednesday evening and discovered the main inside restaurant was fully booked (unlike the Michelin over the road!). But we had a table in the rear terrace, with the bar seat also possible, so no need to book if you are ok with those options. We had Spanish tortilla, crab croquettes, a lovely lamb meatball dish and patatas bravas and were satisfied with this between the two of us. Would recommend. Oh, there was a guest the spit of David Cameron, or perhaps it was him, who knows?

Staff were very attentive without being over bearing and took the time to explain the menu to us first timers! (2-3 dishes per person are satisfactory!). Every single dish was incredible and we wished we had room for more....looks like we'll be heading back again to try the rest of the menu!

We loved Pluma. It was our first time and It will not be our last. It was lovely to meet the team and have a very authentic range of Spanish tapas. Can't wait to return.

My partner took me here for lunch for my birthday, when we arrived the manager asked whose birthday it was and when I replied I was given a card from the team which was a lovely touch. The food was beautiful as was the sangria. Very nice atmosphere and not to busy.

Overpriced and nothing like a Spanish Tapas restaurant. Most dishes contained chili and this was not highlighted on the menu. So for someone that cannot tolerate chili it was a bad experience

Went in for cocktails and bar snacks. Both were fabulous and the staff very attentive and friendly. There was a really lovely atmosphere throughout and will definitely come back for the full dining experience.

The food and atmosphere are great here and the fact it’s full and buzzing on a Tuesday evening is well deserved. A really excellent, but not quite there meal. 5 tapas between 2 of us, Two were great (tomato bread - perfect and chorizo lovely and a long way from the Tesco version). Two fine, and one not, just far too much garlic in the risotto (and I really like the stuff). Drink service off kilter with food - red wine sometime after the meat dishes. Perhaps I’m being a bit picky, but this is an expensive evening out. The special dessert, a chocolate tart with salted caramel ice cream was brilliant. I love this place and will very happily plan to go again (and again), but just not at its best. Look forward to next time though.

what an experience, the food was fantastic the atmosphere was beautiful tapas bar does not do it justice. I have been to a lot of cities in Spain over 30 years and the food at Pluma was better than any tapas that i've had in spain. Can't wait to go back and it will be soon.

Absolutely love this restaurant. Went for the 3rd time last night and yet again the food was delicious. Every plate was a taste sensation. The service is fantastic and our lovely waitress picked us a beautiful bottle of wine. Thank you for a great evening.

What a wonderful evening! Pluma gave off a high-end feel whilst also being so personable and friendly. The owners Charlie and Arantxa could not have been more hospitable. I'm also not sure what happens in that kitchen other than magic, as the food, mamma mia, the food is quite incredible. Thank you to both of you for such a fabulous night! We will be back in full force :)))) P.S. If you're going I'd highly recommend the paterios vinos de guarda el patito feo (red wine)!

We have been wanting to try Pluma for over a year but it has been difficult to get a reservation. Now we know why - it is AMAZING!! We had an absolutely fabulous dinner there. Our waiter, Alistair, was just phenomenal. We had a few dishes in mind but asked him for his recommendations - and were glad we did. We tried the chorizo, the scallions, the squid, and the Iberian ham. They were all delicious, but the scallions were other-worldly. And the wine pairing recommendations from Alistair were spot on! We cannot wait to go back.

Pluma restaurant is brilliant.10/10. I saw at the entrance that it has The Rosette Award for culinary Excellence. I was thoroughly impressed. We’d been to a few pubs in Amersham which didn’t have much of a vibe… on the way back to the hotel we found Pluma. Busy and buzzy, and initially didn’t look like we could get in, but they sat us at the bar which is where we chose to stay - great wine and some really good tapas. Knowledgable bar staff too with a good chat about spirits! Would definitely recommend.

Booked here for dinner on a Friday night, the only seats they had were at the bar which was fine for us. It was busy so definitely book before you go. The food was delicious and reasonably priced, the cocktails were also great. Saw a number of larger groups, dishes are great for sharing. Ample street parking bays available outside and I’d definitely recommend the churros for dessert. The service was also great!

The dedicated wait staff attends to our table with generosity exceeding all expectations, ensuring glasses are never emptied and plates are timely cleared. When the bill arrives, such reasonable prices for these fine meals bring tears to mine eyes. All who wish to experience Spain without leaving this great city must make haste to this excellent refuge of flavor and hospitality! May the patron saints of Madrid and Barcelona smile upon the toils of these noble hosts, for Spain's rich culinary treasures have found their worthy guardians herein.

A truly excellent restaurant. It feels refined without being stuffy, the service was helpful without being too much and the food was very simple but in the best possible way. If you want a really special meal that won't break the bank then this is a great choice. We had the pork, the chorizo, the bread, the mushrooms, the croquettes and the amazing patatas bravas. Everything was superb.

So good. Nice cocktails, wonderful food and amiable staff. In Specials there's always something delicious. It's a good idea to leave room for desserts, definitely worth to try. Sherry or some dessert cocktails will make a good pairing. Just a simple cappuccino or cortado is one of my favorite in the area. If you're looking for some romantic and calm atmosphere, probably try Tuesdays, Wednesdays or launch time.

Simply fantastic! Food is amazing, service is just right, wines are lovely and the overall atmosphere is lively yet not too loud to hamper conversation. Perfect for family, date nights and work events. I have been a few times now and it has never disappointed.

Visited for the first time yesterday and will definitely go back. The food and service were great. I had gambas as a starter, followed by croquettes filled with ham. My friend had a cheese board starter and the croquettes as a main. Everything was piping hot, accompanied by the recommendable house white. Serving staff was pleasant and helpful and the premises well kept. I hope to return soon!

This is one of my favourite restaurants. The food is amazing and the staff are so friendly and attentive. Our waitress Vanessa was kind enough to recommend a white wine and the recommendation was perfect! Our other waiter, Alistair is friendly, knowledgeable, passionate and attentive. Well done all 👏 Can’t praise this place enough.

Lamb skewers, one of the skewers was mainly gristle. The tomato on bread not worth the money,, roasted broccoli stems were burnt and uncooked. I would not recommend the place to anyone.

We really enjoyed the evening, lovely food. The waiter was very helpful with all the menu options, which I always find a bit daunting with tapas, "did I order the right number of dishes", "have I got a good selection", etc.. It really reminded me of all the lovely meals I've had in the Mijas area of Spain.

So arriving there we were seated by the toilet. I think if you are just two people you are prioritised lower. (We were also told that we had to leave within 2 hours which was I suppose ok but still made the experience very transactional ). Food was ok, I would give it three stars. Have been to a few tapas places (in UK and in Spain). Experience - two stars, food arrived staggered over 60 minutes (7 dishes) so you were often at the table with just one or two dishes then waiting for other food to come out. Staff polite however service was below par, had to chase staff to get a drinks refill. Ambience - two stars. This may depend on where you are seated, but where we were, harsh lighting and cold draft from door whenever anyone came in Overall - wanted to really like it, but unlikely to come back. Shame

Have eaten at Pluma many times now and the food has always been lovely. Equally the atmosphere and experience in general are typically always great On our last couple of visits however there has been noticeable change with ALL plates coming out individually and longer gaps between.Fully understand approach of food coming out as cooked but having only one dish on the table at any one time is a much less enjoyable experience. I don’t know if this is a staffing issue or whether we’ve just been unlucky, but other friends who have similarly eaten more recently also reporting same experience. One of our favourite local places so really hope this can be addressed.

Brilliant Spanish restaurant. The food is tasty through a great mix of excellent ingredient and beutiful preparation. You wish you could pick all available items on the menu. Always a great time spent there.

An impromptu Tuesday meal out with a friend and what a great little find as we both love this kind of dinning. Charlie and his wife have done an amazing job with Pluma the atmosphere takes you to the vibrant restaurants of Spain both in decor and atmosphere. Without a booking we sat at the bar tables and so reminiscent of care free evenings on the continent. This is then complimented by the welcome and service the team at Plum are attentive, but not intrusive and know the menu well with some great recommendations. Option for a few starters the anchovies and traditional bread and tomatoes and the Gambas (Prawns) but you have to then get a half of sour dough to mop up that amazing oil and garlic ;) Mains we opted for Ox tail and Iberico Pork and again these did not disappoint especially with some well chosen wines to chose from. In summary Pluma is a great find and given the number of people for a Tuesday night this review is simply confirmation. We'll 100% be back and our streets need more place with the careful authenticity and attention to details. Cheers Charlie and team wishing continued success as well earned.

Went to celebrate our wedding anniversary, Alistair our waiter was very knowledgeable and guided us on what would be the best dishes to order according to our tastes. I am a very fussy eater but enjoyed what I had, my husband enjoyed his food. We could only get a booking for 6pm or 9pm but there were still lots of empty tables available when we left after our 2 hour slot. We had an enjoyable experience.

It all started with the booking which we tried to make it three days earlier than dinner date. We however were not given the chance to select the table, we were told that we had to come early and we had to spend no more than 2 hours in the restaurant (allegedly the restaurant if fully booked). That proved to be not the case as many tables were empty during our two-hour stay there and until we left. The food quality was nice but the portions were really small and do not reflect the high price we paid for, this also goes for the cocktails which hardly had any alcohol in them On the positive side he staff were pleasant and polite and managed to serve us fast and in a professional way. In general, we value PLUMA as not a good value for money .

This restaurant is worth a visit, the food is excellent quality, freshly prepared and well presented. Service was good, and staff plentiful. It is super busy..an indication on the area, and also the quality of the place. You have to book...when we went it was rammed, and tables turning - so expect max 2 hours for your table and then off! Its not cheap, as expected, but you know that before you book. Standard 12.5% service is automatically added to the bill. Overall recommended.

Food is great, but service could be better. 2 tables that came in after us were served before us. Food came out very very slow, long wait between dishes which really spoilt it for us. Had to ask twice for more water for the table, also used plates taken and not replaced with clean ones. Again had to ask for these. After discussing cocktails with the waitress, she then brought out the wrong one. Not sure if she was new or just having an off day, but really spoilt our evening. They really do not make much effort if you are celebrating anything. For £190 for 2 people I’d did expect service to be better. I’m sure there are other local restaurants that would make you feel more welcome and help you celebrate your special occasion.

We wanted to celebrate 25 years of marriage. We finished work late and ventured to old Amersham at 9pm and were looking for a restaurant that would serve food that time on weekday . And what a find ! We had Pluma acorn fed roast pork with potatas bravas which were.both outstanding !! The churos were heavenly - crispy , light with flecks of salt and served with a warm dipping chocolate sauce . Out waitress Anais was excellent as she recommended the dishes and also the rest of the staf

Outstanding food as always. I came to dine with my wife and daugher. If you want authentic Spanish food look no further this is the place.

Have been here many times. The quality of the food and service is outstanding. It is rather expensive, but you get what you pay for. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Pluma to anyone, looking for authentic Spanish food in a ambient setting.

Overall a very decent restaurant which, judging by the difficulty of getting a table on a Friday or Saturday evening is still doing extremely well. This was our second visit, and we had the braised Ox tail and a cauliflower steak, roasted couchette and king...

Everything about Pluma stands out shouting of excellence and quality. From the moment we arrived till the moment we left, the staff were very knowledgeable and well mannered. The food was exceptional and reasonably priced. The Paldron Peppers are the best we've had outside of Spain (my partner is Spanish) andy Pluma (their signature dish) was out of this world but I wouldn't say 100% authentic Spanish but still very good. Anyone wanting a brilliant Spanish eating experience, go and try Pluma of Amersham

Recommended by my daughter and her partner , so on a night off from babysitting we booked to try this restaurant. We had the first sitting at 6.15pm and sat up by the conservatory watching them cook the food. Great ambiance and very attentive staff...

I ate at Pluma for lunch with yesterday with friends. We all agreed that the tapas were delicious. I drove 125 miles to be there and would happily do so again as the food was that good. Best tapas I’ve eaten outside Spain.

First and last visit. Nice spinach and cheese croquettes. Braised oxtail was over salted and rather dainty and at £25 for that single dish, I'd want it to be better. Very attentive staff so was happy to pay service charge.

Couldn't fault them if I tried! Had a wonderful authentic spanish lunch at Pluma yesterday. Beautiful place, the food was on point and the service was superb. I happen to mention to the waiter that I'm craving ice as I'm heavily pregnant, he took it upon himself to make sure I always had a glass full of ice available, he must've come back 3/4 times, and I didn't even ask! So attentive! Thank you :) Everyone was very friendly and there was a wonderful atmosphere. Food was 10/10. Would recommend and we will definitely be back! Ps. Toilets were were also nice, clean and smelled really good which is a plus!
