We booked the Ivy Asia - St Paul’s for my son’s birthday. Lovely venue with fabulous views of St Paul’s, stunning interior. Unfortunately, the music was so loud it spoiled our experience, it was like a night club. We visited at 12:45pm so I didn’t think the music would have been quite so loud but there was a DJ there playing music, so table conversation was almost impossible The food was lovely - we had the small plates, interesting dishes of prawns, chicken, barbecued duck etc and service was good - unfortunately the waiter spilled the chilli oil on my husband’s trousers but the manager was good enough to give us a round of drinks off the bill - but only after we asked for it. I had read the reviews about the loud music and genuinely thought it wouldn’t affect us at 1pm on a Saturday afternoon, but I was wrong. Be warned that the music is really, really loud and ruins any ambience/conversation. I’m afraid we won’t be visiting the Ivy Asia again and I think we would have had a better value meal in a different restaurant

Itsu restaurant Strand 32-33 Strand, London WC2N 5HY We stumbled across this restaurant by chance whilst looking for a place to have lunch near Trafalgar Square & Charing Cross Station. The food appears to be freshly prepared, more than adequate in quantity, very satisfying in quality and value for money. A variety of sauces are available to suit all tastes. I would have preferred a little more wasabi provided with the lunches but that’s a personal choice. The seating arrangements are not the most comfortable nor convenient with narrow stools and facing other customers literally a meter opposite. Furthermore, this establishment does not accept cash hence bring your card with you.(A mute point: call me old fashioned). Finally there are no toilet facilities available (apologies if there are and I missed it). With all the “negatives” considered, if you got your bank card, you want a quick lunch and you don’t need the toilet it’s worth visiting this establishment for the food.

The host of this location is an arrogant, rude little man. He is incredibly unprofessional. Worst customers service ever experienced. I practically had to beg to see the location, and even after my plea, I was met with hostility at the door. The place needs a re-paint but not even paint can wash away the bad mind spirit. I urge you not to book with this man. Toby Carvery would be a better venue.
