Visité Benihana el viernes 26 de abril para una comida de cumpleaños con mi familia. Tuvimos una bienvenida muy cálida y todos fueron muy educados y nos sirvieron. La velada de principio a fin fue sobresaliente. Todos disfrutaron de los diferentes cursos de comida y nuestro chef nos entretuvo al mismo tiempo. Hizo que todos se sintieran cómodos e incluyó a todos. La comida fue cocinada a la perfección. Yo recomendaría esta experiencia para cualquier grupo de edad.

Estamos acostumbrados a que la Ciudad cierre el fin de semana y que muchos de los restaurantes y bares estén cerrados porque favorecen el servicio a los trabajadores de la ciudad durante la semana, pero no tiene mucho sentido abrir un restaurante si, cuando llega el fin de semana, demuestra un 50% de esfuerzo y hacer que los clientes que pagan les hagan sentir que realmente no valen la pena el esfuerzo.Eso es lo que se sintió en el fin de semana festivo de Benihana. Ubicado en un hotel (The Grange street Pauls) que estaba lleno de turistas que eligieron una excelente ubicación para ver algunos de los lugares más asombrosos de Londres, este restaurante tenía la mayoría de las mesas llenas pero la mitad de su menú disponible, sin sushi o sashimi, y no marcarlo cuando reservamos o nos sentamos. No hubiéramos reservado si hubiéramos sabido que este era el caso. El restaurante también está empezando a parecer anticuado y cansado, un poco más de 1970. Necesita una actualización. Por el precio que cobra, necesita mejorar su juego. Ir por la novedad, pero no la comida / servicio.

This is my second time and generally the food is good as we love tapanyaki style . Service was attentive and the chef was very pleasant and gave a competent display of his skills and cooked very well. Only complaint the crispy garlic came cold rather than being cooked on the grill and was pricey. The biggest disappointment was there was no Sushi or Sashimi service being a Sunday evening. This was Understandable but show be made clear on the website as I made the booking on line. Despite this we had an enjoyable evening and enjoyed the meal. A little pricey but it’s is London

SPOILER: AVOID THIS RESTAURANT IF YOU APPRECIATE GOOD SERVICEAs we were staying at the Grange Hotel at St Paul’s we decided to eat in and chose their Japanese restaurant Benihana. We booked for 7.30pm and were running a little late arriving at 7.45pm. A young lady greeted us, asked if we had booked which we confirmed we had, she then left explaining she would get the manager to attend to us. A couple of minutes passed whilst we observed that the restaurant was hardly busy with perhaps 12 covers. Then another young lady greeted us, again asking had we booked and again we confirmed we had and explained we were being seen to. We then waited another couple of minutes, admittedly by now feeling a little neglected. Just then the manager passed by us carrying two chairs and addressing us over his shoulder saying “I know you are waiting just give me a minute and I will be with you”. Sure enough a minute later the manager appeared, again asking whether we had booked, which we confirmed and then, upon checking the computer turned to us and in a surly tone said “You’re late, you should have been here at 7.30.” We were absolutely stunned, particularly given that a large part of the time lapse had been due to their lack of attention upon our arrival. Quite the most appalling service we have ever had and we had not yet managed to reach the table. Needless to say we walked out and ate at an excellent Japanese restaurant, Uramaya, down the road where we had not booked, and where we were warmly welcomed. Unfortunately this restaurant completely lets down an otherwise excellent hotel.

Visited this restaurant for the first time and after this experience, we won’t be returning. Tried a number of times to order a bottle of wine, only to be told they didn’t have any of them. Overall the service was lacklustre and it really felt like the waiting staff just didn’t want to be there. The one plus was the food and the chef at the table was warm and engaging. Overall there are much better restaurants in the area, that will make you feel welcome and that they want your business. Very disappointing.

El proceso de registro se realizó sin problemas pero se sintió apresurado, no se le ofreció ninguna información adicional. . Tuve que preguntar acerca de las horas del desayuno, etc. nada mencionado sobre las instalaciones del spa. Habíamos pagado por adelantado, pero no nos pidieron que escaneara una tarjeta de crédito, lo que resultó en un hecho de no poder acceder al minibar o tomar una copa sin pagar en ese momento. El desayuno era bueno, estilo buffet. . Hay mucho para elegir PERO el personal no atento. Nos llevaron a la mesa y nos fuimos. No preguntamos qué bebidas, ni tazas y cucharas (¡2 días seguidos!) los dos días en nuestra mesa se limpiaron las bebidas, los jugos, los cubiertos al acercarse a la mesa del buffet y luego obtener una taza de reemplazo, etc. ¡parecía ser una tarea para el personal! Había un niño jugando con el cereal con las manos y, aunque sé que es culpa de los padres, el personal debería haber intervenido por razones de higiene. Luego, en el desayuno de esta mañana había dos señoritas que usaban pijamas, no soy snob, pero en serio no es de esperar un hotel de 5 estrellas, deberían haber sido rechazadas para vestirse. . . tenía mucho mejor de los hoteles de menor calificación en una fracción del precio! El cargo por servicio se agrega automáticamente incluso para las bebidas del bar, de nuevo no impresionado, especialmente cuando no se atiende.

The service was good but the waitress/waiter had to get the order in at the same time as other people on the same table so if you are the first one at the table you have to wait for others to arrive so it can be quite of a wait. Food was average and too salty for my liking. Atmosphere and cooking by the chef was great but the air vents are terrible at getting rid of the cooking smoke so by the end of the night you will go home smelling from head to toe. It is a great venue for entertainment to see the chef cook but everything else is average. You pay for performance rather than quality of the food.

Always wanted to visit & never imagined it would be with 7 & 9 year old niece & nephew but we decided to give it a go on a rare family trip to the city, we hadn’t made a booking & there was no availability but the fabulous manager Shaker couldn’t bear to disappoint our niece on her birthday so he made it work! First time going to this benihana as I normally got to the one in Piccadilly. The Piccadilly restaurant I would fully recommend, service is great, chefs highly skilled and friendly, and an overall great experience. However this restaurant located at the back of a hotel lobby was the complete opposite. Service was terrible, I had to prompt the waiter several times when to collect used plates and bowls, and refill drinks and ask for cutlery despite the waiter uncomfortably watching our table the entire time (we were the only table in the restaurant). The chef was friendly but struggled with the basics, but this was not a big issue. The music was loud high tempo club music, not quite the ambience I’m used to in this type of restaurant. Waiters would also whisper and talk in a different language whilst looking at our table after every action they had to do I.e serve drinks, collect plates. Overall not a great experience and I won’t be using this particular restaurant again.

Très déçu de ce restaurant, la réservation faite par le concierge n'avait pas été enregistré par le restaurant, nous avons eu une place finalement ( le restaurant n'était pas complet contrairement à ce qui était annoncé sur Open Table). Nous avons du renvoyer le whisky d'apéritif qui ne contenait que des glaçons fondus. Le service était très décousu: le riz est arrivé à la fin du repas après avoir du le demander.

A lovely meal that was entertaining at the same time. I would advise you build up an appetite beforehand as they prepare so much food, which I was not complaining about as it is so delicious. I went to Benihanas with high expectations given the fuss and furore surrounding the ‘experience’. However I was left disappointed by the service (the staff were not very warm or friendly and furthermore they brought the wrong food and forgot items we ordered), the quality of food is good but then the food doesn’t represent any sort of value either given the prices. As far as energy, experience and ambience, the location was half full, too brightly lit and devoid of any sort of atmosphere aside from the group that was scoffing opposite us. Overall I felt I paid far over the odds for what was otherwise a very average and boring meal and experience. Not what I wanted on a Saturday night, my first night at home in the city for a couple of months.

We decided to try Benihana at The Grange Hotel as we have been to the others in the past and really enjoyed it. It was a surprise for my daughter's birthday. Unfortunately from the moment we arrived we were made to feel uncomfortable. We were shown to our table and had to wait in a completely empty restaurant for about 10 minutes before we were asked if we would like drinks. Unfortunately the chef cooking our meal performed only 2 tricks which was really disappointing as that is why we were there. I asked the male waiter there if I could have a knife and folk well about three times and then he came over the table of four with a handful of knives and folks looking very annoyed indeed with us. We then had to call him over and ask for some more drinks. He stood the whole time just talking to the bartender in a completely empty restaurant instead of making us feel welcome and giving us the experience we thought we were going to get.

No atmosphere. We were expecting to be entertained watching the chefs cooking the meal, throwing utensils etc., however our chef did not do that and it felt awkward to just sit and watch him cook. Although the food was okay I would not have spent the amount that we did on the meal. The serving staff were terrible - didn&#039;t book us in properly, did not take our order for a ridiculously long time and forgot to deliver drinks on more than one occasion. <br />I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone, for any occasion.

We had to switch to a different restaurant, it was so horrible. It felt like a mafia establishment. We reserved a table in advance for special occasion but they did not have a table ready for us when we got there. We were offered to split between two tables although the restaurant was pretty empty and then they told us to share the table with another guests so they won't have to open another table. They told us we have to order the food first and drinks only at the end and the manager couldn't explain any of the weird and irrational choices he made... In one word horrible.

We have been here a couple of time’s before but on this occasion we were let down by the service. Our orders for drinks were taken and my husband received his quickly, and mine (a kir Royal) didn’t come. We asked again and the waiter couldn’t understand what I was asking for, I wrote it down for him and he emerged with the drink in a wine glass piled with ice. To avoid confusion I just ordered a vodka and coke instead and the waiter came over with a fork and a coke. The problem was a language barrier and it was eventually rectified but I didn’t get a drink until 35 minutes after we had originally ordered it. <br />The food and the chef cooking it were fab but they need to check that their waiting staff can understand the orders being taken.

Not a good experience and have already requested the details from the website to be able to make a formal compliant ..attended on valentines weekend 2018. I have been to the Chelsea Benihana and the two are nothing alike in quality, service and cleanliness. <br /><br />The chef was brand new and forgot food multiple times along with food on the floor and burnt Teppinyaki , it is safe to say I will not be returning to this restaurant. Please Stay clear if you are used to the high standards of Chelsea .

The food was delicious, and the chefs did a great job in providing entertainment for their customers. However, it did take quite a long time for them to take our order. But overall, I would definitely recommend this place as it is very unique compared to other restaurants.

Good edible but glad I didn't order seafood - the lobster was literally bouncing by the time it came off the grid. Prawns overdone, everything underseasoned, bean sprouts tasted old. Ambience was v poor - bright lights and loud pop music. The plastic trays they bring the meat out on cheapens the experience. Our chef seemed like a new hire - nice enough guy but is it quite have the right patter and his skills were unimpressive. Overall, disappointing, and v expensive for what we had. Won't be going back.

The chef was entertaining and good however the restaurant lacked ambience, they were playing hardcore house music - not fitting for a Japanese restaurant, the waitress was never around and we ordered 6 pints of beer (for 6 ppl) all of them were around 2cm below the 1 pint mark. we would have raised it to the waitress had she been around but she disappeared like Houdini after delivering the drinks! we were unable to get tap water or order a second round of drinks. we also ordered the Benihana Special which comes with rice, the waitress asked if we would like egg friend or chicken and garlic rice, we ordered 1 of each and were surprised when at extra £10 was added to our bill for rice considering it was included with our dish and the waitress did not inform us it was an extra cost. I would NOT recommend this branch.

The branch in St Pauls is too quiet, the service is meh but the food is great. We went there for a dinner and shared a quiet table with two other people, with whom we ended up making conversation with because the place was so quiet. Then some terrible techno pop music came on, the chef was cooking but was obviously trying hard to be enthusiastic. At least the food was great. I don't recommend the one in St Pauls, try going to the Piccadilly's one instead, so much better and worth it. Totally different ambiance.

We have been to the Piccadilly branch before and had a fantastic time, so as an anniversary dinner we decided to come back, but try a different branch (St Pauls, Grange Hotel). There was a complete lack of atmosphere (There were only 2 other tables with customers in the restaurant), no one in the bar area (radio silent), wait staff weren’t attentive and took down ours and other guests order wrong multiple times, the chef didn’t do any of the interactive cooking and tricks, and we were charged over £170 for the pleasure. Wouldn’t recommend or return. Go to Piccadilly branch, you’ll have a much better evening and experience!

Food good as ever, but not sure New Years price of £75 plus service was good value, particularly as restaurant half empty. <br />Biggest disappointment was asked to vacate table at 11pm on NY Eve and sent to hotel bar who would not serve us as were non resident, despite having spent £600 in restaurant. Staff should have checked this as left us out on a limb before midnight.

He estado en Benihana Gold Coast. varias veces, cada vez que tuvimos una experiencia muy agradable. Así que decidimos probar el restaurante teppanyaki en Londres desde que estuvimos en la calle. Paul's Grange por 3 días. La comida está bien, no es tan bueno como nos lo pasamos en la Costa de Oro. El servicio es terrible, el chef nos dio la sensación de que él no quería trabajar aquí, su actitud hacia la atención al cliente era horrible. Un montón de cosas interesantes que tuve durante teppanyaki habían perdido aquí como en llamas. El restaurante era bastante humo y la ventilación era muy pobre. Que no debería suceder en Teppanyaki.

Poor quality hibachi. Chef attempted only a few tricks and those he did he dropped. Not what we had expected and not worth the outing unfortunately. However, manager provided us with a birthday cake and candle for our twins which was very thoughtful.

Was shocked to arrive to this Japanese tepanyaki restaurant to find out that they had no sushi or sashimi on a Saturday night! I guess they did us a favour though as the set meal was more than enough and exepnsive so they saved us £20 although I was really looking forward to sushi to start off with! Was also disappointed as the chef did not throw food in our mouths or get us to catch anything like they usually do (at the 5 other tepanyaki places I have been over my life!) So don&#039;t feel we got the full experience. Would not go back. Food was good but in my opinion overpriced and underwhelming.

Disappointing. When I arrived, on Carter lane, a few minutes after one of my guests, the waitress was behind the bar and just mumbled some salutations, maybe because she saw that I went straight to a table. But still, she should have at least smiled. She immediately after come to get drinks orders, though, and this was ok. <br />During our main course, once our chef finished his preparation, we had to grab the attention of a chef cooking at a nearby table to ask him to get hold of the waitress who had disappeared from the restaurant. She was drying glasses in the service room near the toilets, we could see that she was there, but she was turning her back to guests, for about 10 minutes. Once the chef told her, she came immediately and then she stayed around, but unfortunately in between trips back and forth to the service area, she came back chewing on food, although I understand maybe she was hungry, it didn&#039;t look very professional, or very upmarket restaurant. Our chef was ok, maybe not as skilled with knives as other chefs in other venues of the same chain, but very polite and food was good. Unfortunately he left a couple of small pieces of onions on the floor between our table and the opposite one, so when I went to the toilets, at the end of the meal, I slipped and it was thanks to immediately grabbing the table, that I had no consequences, so I was ok. An elderly person could have had a worse outcome of the chef&#039;s lack of attention to detail during his cleaning time. So please, make sure the plastic floor between tables is spotless after you finish cooking! Overall the experience was just OK. Not disastrous, neither good, just OK, and for the prices and service charge, I would expect a bit more. I would say that there was no supervisor, or manager around, so maybe the above faults are just inexperience of staff not well trained. I won&#039;t come back or recommend this venue, although I will go back to Benihana, in other locations.
