The best restaurants serving Italian food in Wales

Lovely food and great service. Would highly recommend

Decided to try this place after a few people mentioned it. Decided to only have coffee after seeing the prices. Seen other peoples breakfast which looked ok but is way over priced. Coffee was ok not the best.

Our usual "go to" place for an Italian meal is Café Chitta but it is very difficult to get through to book a table so my search led me to il giglio. It defenitely did not disappoint. My son and I had an excellent meal. The aranchini, pizza,Salmon got top marks and the Trimisu was among the best I have tasted. Will definitely visit again. Service was efficient and friendly and I was given good advice about the menu. What sightly spoilt the evening were a couple of kids creating quite a ruckus unchecked by their parents. One of them did apologise at the end of our meal.

We booked here after seeing the excellent reviews on Google and were not disappointed. The food and service was amazing particularly the Moroccan food! Moroccan tea was served to us on the house as we chose our meals and was also delicious! Don’t be put off from the decor as this is a special little gem and we will definitely be returning!

Amazing drinks, best Mocha's I have ever had. Amazing panini, such friendly staff and it's a nice, quiet atmosphere as well. Definitely recommend and will be coming back!

Cosy and charming, Café Citta serves authentic Italian dishes with incredible flavors. I tried the Risotto Funghi, and it was deliciously creamy and full of rich mushroom taste. This intimate spot is perfect for a date or a small gathering.

The best Italian restaurant in Cardiff! The best service, great food and always our first choice for dinner. Highly recommend :)

I had a lovely evening with my sons in this excellent restaurant 🇮🇹 Staff were amazing:- warm welcome, informed review of specials, attentive, prompt and above all a friendly, hard working team. Food was beautiful . Atmosphere was warm and had a family feel. Thank you all for looking after us so well!

Very unfortunate.. The lady is lovely, but the food took so long to come and it was not very good. I had a grilled chicken sandwich, which was a) way too expensive for what it was, and b) the chicken was cold. The cafe itself is cute though

Stumbled across this place. What’s not to love about it? Beautiful fresh salads, generous portions, very reasonable prices and friendly service. And the cakes? Just amazing.

Good food, but a bit more heating in the back room would have made it a better experience. The wood burner wasn't throwing out much heat and the radiator was off - until we turned it on.

Local recommendation from a shop owner sent us there. My wife had a cheese and ham Toasty and I had a chicken curry Enormous meals good value excellent service. Best cafe I have been in. Will use if we are in the area again Visited May 8 2025

A gem of a restaurant, possibly my favourite in Cardiff. The food is fresh and impeccably cooked. It’s a lovely venue and the staff super friendly. Highly recommended
