Bute & Co Coffee House in Cardiff

My partner and I were staying at the Hotel indigo - a great hotel - and we popped into the little place Bute & Co. It's a tasty little oasis, tucked away from the business of Cardiff central, with a lovely selection of excellent sandwiches, cakes and treats. There's a lovely nook tucked away in the back, and a genuine atmosphere of old Cardiff, with all its warmth and humour. The lovely Cleo manages everything with great aplomb, never too busy to have a chat and connect with all of her customers. Her lemon teas and peach teas are the best we've ever had - a perfect balance of honey sweetness and luchious fruit - cannot recommend those highly enough, and each time we visit we have multiples! The ambience is a perfect mix of bustle and calm, like a quiet eddy in the river of city life. The walls are full of quirky themed art, and the place is welcoming to Welsh and English speakers alike. If you're in Caerdydd, we recommend Cardiff Castle, the Arcades, Hotel Indigo, and Bute & Co! Get those lemon teas! You'll thank us for the recommendation!

Stayed at the Hotel Indigo and decided to pop into Bute as we did not want a large breakfast. Had a bacon roll and coffee. The bacon roll was superb. Bacon freshly cooked, a lovely fresh roll (which was buttered) followed by a really nice latte. Served to us by a very friendly and welcoming lady. Will definitely be going there on our next visit to Cardiff.

Hidden gem with great simple food and superb coffee with a chilled vibe. Nathan made the best coffee I’ve had in the city centre and he was passionate about the blend too! Cleo made us deliciously fresh sandwiches and slaw. The cakes were warm and moorish too!

What a lovely little coffee shop tucked away in the arcade. We called in on our way back to our hotel from shopping. A lovely family run it and they were all so chatty and friendly. I had a lovely large hot cup of coffee and an excellent piece of lemon drizzle (it was recommended). The coffee shop also sell a small selection of beers so my husband had one instead of coffee. I noted they also serve breakfast items. Delicious food and drinks with a warm friendly atmosphere. Also very clean. Will definitely return!

Hidden Gem right in the centre of Cardiff. 100% recommend for coffee. Haven't tried the food but the options look very good. At the moment generally open 7:00 - 15:00 but check yourself.
