Little Italy

Aberystwyth Canol/Central, Ceredigion, 20-30£
10/11/2018: Visited on a Friday night without a booking. Service was friendly and the pizza authentic and thin crusted. Olives were good. Had never been to this restaurant before when I lived in the town but can see why it's been around for a very long time. Would recommend based on what we had.
06/11/2018: Good menu and good food. Service excellent and a nice ambiance for such a restaurant. A few steps down to entrance; small eating area at that level. Main area up stairs.

La Terrazza

Newtown East, Powys
03/11/2018: Expected so much more after the glowing reviews. This is such a great venue for a restaurant but we found the atmosphere lacklustre and the food too. It's not as if they're massively crowded, so the food could have been better prepared. Just nothing special. Friendly staff, but got an impression of a place ticking over without feeling the need to make much effort. And it showed in both the food and the atmosphere. Sorry, but won't be returning
24/10/2018: Visited on a Friday evening with a friend. Didn't arrive until around 8pm. Were seated quickly, Starters were bob on real tasty, The mains were good to, And desert to top it off wasn't bad at all. Will definitely visit again well worth the investment.

La Calabria

Llandysul Town, Ceredigion
17/12/2018: Went for a meal 3 weeks ago and was lucky to go again on Saturday. Had a super meal and enjoyed every mouthful. Great food a good service so will be back again soon. Only problem not easy to find. Keep searching.
13/12/2018: Just visited for a 40th Birthday celebration on recommendation from the owners of the bed and breakfast we were staying in, what a great meal, friendly welcoming owners with a real Italian feel to the restaurant, great choice of food and everything was just perfect. We had the antipasto selection to start which was all good, main course was great steak cooked just how it was ordered with great sauce and vegetables, the home made ice cream using milk from the cows on the farm was fantastic. Will definitely return if in the area again

Le Figaro

Aberystwyth Canol/Central, Ceredigion, 45-60£
03/11/2018: We went here for lunch yesterday, soup and a sandwich £4.50. Simple but cheap and delicious! Shame I had to drive or we'd have tried the litre of sangria for £10 We will definitely go there again!
30/09/2018: Telephoned ahead and booked a table for 715

Roberto's Italian Restaurant

St. Mary, Powys, 20-30£
31/08/2015: Excellent little place, glad we phoned, lots of people turned away. Food freshly prepared and nicely presented. Two server's one far better than the other which let down the front of house. We enjoyed our meals.
30/08/2015: Went here with family on a Friday evening it wasn't full but had a good atmosphere we had to wait some time to have our order taken when we did manage to get the waitresses attention she apologised & said she had forgot about us as it's been busy I had the Italian breads toasted with chefs topping to start when it arrived it was 2 small squares of ciabatta with melted mozzarella & a garnish of pre packed salad leaves posh cheese on toast !!!! the other starters were tomato basil soup & calamari again served with bagged salad for main course I had a plank you could have meat fish or veg I opted for meat it was a plank of wood with olives & pickles a selection of cured meats onion marmalade Italian bread oil & balsamic vinegar it looked good & tasted great the lasagne & other pasta dishes again served with a bagged salad were fine also . for dessert I had homemade chocolate & hazelnut cheese cake very nice & soft the tirrimasu was also good. We had a pleasant evening in this small restaurant not what I would authentic Italian but nice anyway

Little Italy

Aberystwyth Canol/Central, Ceredigion, <20£
25/07/2018: I've been to Little Italy a number of times over the many years it's been in Aberystwyth and my most recent visit hasn't changed my mind about it being a very average place. A family member wanted to go so I did think it deserves another look at. It was certainly familiar anyway - neither the decor or the menu has changed in years and years! It would certainly be nice to see some updates - in the menu at least. My main of penne carnivora was desperately uninspiring and for £14 I would have expected more than a few pieces of chicken and pancetta and the odd sliver of mushroom. The sauce was pleasant enough but not using fresh pasta was very disappointing - the pasta itself was utterly tasteless. The dessert menu was equally uninspiring, especially as Tiramisu was off however I suspect the desserts are bought in anyway and it would have been a sore disappointment compared to Chiara's homemade tiramisu at Agnelli's. It will be a long time before I return and I doubt it will have changed then! It has to be said though the staff were pretty good.
11/07/2018: Came here looking forward to a nice quiet meal with the Mrs, turned up mid week around 7 .30 ish to be told they had no room, then it was ,"wait a minate I'll see if there is any room upstairs" the place only had 4 sitting at a table the rest was empty..... Anyway the answer was " there's a table for 2 by the window" which looked ideal.
