The best restaurants serving Italian food in Birmingham West Midlands

We love eating at Giancarlos and had our Christmas get together here last night with friends. Fantastic evening and food, as always, was superb. Highly recommend.

Visité hoy con amigos. Eligieron el lugar y yo no sabía nada de él de antemano. Como universidad me encanta lo que hacen, como café he luchado. 4 tipos de baguette, todos vegetales, dos con pesto que no me gusta, uno con hummus que no me gusta y otro con halloumi, que no me gusta. La sopa estaba condimentada, lo que adivinaste. No me gusta. Los pasteles se veían bien, pero eran todos veganos o sin gluten. Al final tuve dos pasteles, que eran bastante agradables. Me pareció un menú muy limitado para un sábado ocupado a la hora del almuerzo. Me encanta el edificio, la falta de música, es un ambiente agradable, el personal es amable. Me hubiera encantado ver pizza o queso Mac n, si tiene que ser vegetariano. Acepto que soy un comedor bastante quisquilloso... pero las críticas son opiniones y esta es mía.

Ha bajado cuesta abajo muy rápido, no es de extrañar que siempre esté vacío ahora. Traje un par de hamburguesas, sabroso e insípido. Encontré una grapa (sí las que usan para grapar allí bolsas de papel y recibo también). Llamé para hacerles saber que estuvieran más atentos (declarado que no quería nada, solo hacerle saber). Tuve un personal extremadamente grosero (adivinando uno de esos limpiadores) me dijo que no es posible y luego cortar la línea. ¿Cómo puede ser que no sea posible cuando grapas claramente las bolsas en la misma área en la que cocinas los alimentos? No puedo ver el negocio durar mucho tiempo, mejor calidad de la comida en la zona

Just ordered a Margherita pizza. All I got was a bit of dough, sauce and cheddar cheese. When I asked where the Mozzarella cheese on the pizza they tried to make me believe that the yellow cheese put on the pizza was fresh mozzarella. I just paid £6.99 for this what a joke. I spend £30-50 a week at this place never again. You have lost my custom.

Went here for a last minute night out, this place is always busy and it offers good quality Italian food. It has a good atmosphere and the service is pretty slick.

Yes, it would be nice if you updated the timetable displayed on the internet...which mentions that the pizzeria is open until 23:30...;) and actually: surprise!!! it is closed from 16:00!

Dinner here with a good friend of mine and we had a lovely time, atmosphere and vibe is very relaxed and the food is exceptional 😁 save this place as a treat

Staff clearly don’t know what customer service is. We had reserved a table and went to the restaurant and the staff were standing around chatting with a few of them on their personal phones, not even taking notice of customers entering the restaurant. We stood waiting to be greeted to no avail so I had to walk across to the other side of the restaurant to get someone attention and interrupt the personal chat. I said we were waiting to be served but no one was bothering to help. I was looked at like an alien and then shown to our table by a waitress who was giving off major attitude. Not good. We went to sit down and decided this was not the type of establishment we would want to stay in so I asked for the manager ‘Michel’ and spoke to him about our experience. There was no apology or offer to rectify anything and I just got an ‘ok’. So off we went. I would never recommend anyone to visit this restaurant. Customer service is non existent.

First time visiting Ponte Di Legno and I was very impressed. Firstly, I must admit to not being a fan of Italian food, but this was an exception. Upon arrival I couldn’t believe how busy it was with a que forming from the inside and continuing outside which shows how popular this restaurant is. Luckily, I booked in advance and was seated very quickly. The staff here are very friendly and welcoming, the atmosphere was cosy and well laid out to accommodate many people on both sides of the restaurant. We were well looked after and didn’t feel forgotten at any point. The food here was amazing! I ordered the prawn starter and lamb shank for the main. As a lover of lamb, this was highly satisfying and the meat melts in your mouth. The gravy on top was also delicious. We also shared a range of breads which were all amazing in taste. Really pleased to have discovered Ponte Di Legno and would recommend anyone to try this place out, especially if you’re a fan of Italian food as it’s not likely to disappoint in my eyes with great quality food and preparation. Thank you to all the staff and I shall be returning in the future to sample more of the menu!

I have been dining at Laghis for a long time. This was probably my last time though. We were told the restaurant was closing down soon. This is a sad news for me. I have had so many nice memories of good dinner with dear friends in Laghi's.

Ahhh Pizza by Goli, the enigma. The atmosphere is top notch and it is ALWAYS busy. The good on the whole is great, I'm not 100% convinced on the freshness of some of the pasta, however. But on the whole the food is tasty, if not a little on the pricey side. But let's talk about the elephant in the room. The service. I just can't 😆. Every time I've been here the service is literally non-existent. It feels absolutely chaotic and there's a real lack of attentiveness. If this was any other restaurant, I'd never recommend or return. But these guys somehow manage to get away with it for me. I have no idea why! There's a chaotic charm about the place, waiting staff rarely check in, rarely refill drinks and even just the wait to order or collect the bill or get the card machine just feels like a lifetime. But somehow, they get away with it. I'll continue to go, but I honestly don't know why 😆

Really Lovely and accommodating staff and brilliant food. It is a small business, so wait times can be longer when it's full, but still well worth it! Group gatherings can be a bit more difficult as we found the manager hadn't really given our requests to the staff on the day and it was a bit stressful. But the staff who were in still did all they could to help solve the situation and made it a wonderful experience nonetheless!
