Pasta Di Piazza in Birmingham

An excellent classic Italian restaurant in luxurious surroundings, tucked away by St Paul's Square. I have dined here for over a decade, and it still remains one of the best Italians in Birmingham, and rarely has it faltered. The food is superb and the choice of wines is very reasonable. I opted for a linguine monkfish and prawn dish - incredible flavours.

Update: went again after a year. Maybe we were unlucky but food was tasteless and service was nice but not as good as before. ——- Loved it! The restaurant has a unique vibe where you can go as a couple, friends, family and still find the right atmosphere for you. Food was delicious, staff was friendly and professional. Definitely would recommend!

Very authentic and very good food

Authentic Italian restaurant with a rustic yet traditional feel. We didn't have a booking but the staff were able to find us a table and get us seated quite quickly. Our servers were prompt and friendly whilst providing an efficient service and even checked if we had any dietary requirements. The food was fresh, tasty and of top quality ingredients. Would recommend this restaurant and the 'Pollo A La Crema' dish as I really enjoyed this. Will definitely be coming back

This is a cute gem in St Pauls Square near JQ. Rustic interior. Nice food albeit on the pricier side but excellent quality and great ambience and staff. Would visit again.

I've been coming here for over 20 years, my favourite Italian restaurant. Food always tastes great and homely. Service is exceptional, and prices aren't excessive. Love the seafood options

Very busy restaurant, food was delicious. Staff friendly and polite Visited again Friday evening Food was amazing and service was great.

Minestrone soup was tasteless, loads of parmesan, olive oil and black pepper made it a bit better. I don't understand why they can't leave pepper and parmesan on the table - waitress always took it away with her. Capresse was decent, but definetly no buffalo mozarella. Pizza a bit undercooked, it was saggy and not at all crispy, tasted like from a delivery box. Service was nice and friendly, and place has Italian vibe to it.

Went for Valentine's Day and had possibly the best pasta I've ever eaten. Brilliant service and atmosphere, very good value. Will be back.

I’ve been coming to this restaurant for over 7 years now and never had a bad experience. The atmosphere and service is always on point and the food is exactly what you would expect from a top class authentic Italian. Absolutely love the place and it is up there with the best restaurants in Birmingham.

It's fine. It's average. For food and service. Nothing special but is nice. Issues twice with booking meant I knocked off a star.

The food was a huge let down, dry pasta was used which is fine I guess but at least use a high quality one. Carbonara had nothing in common with the classic recipe. Bolognese sauce was lacking flavour. The Casarecce Gratinate once again lacked flavour, just tasted like double cream and mushrooms. Pizza was fine. Overall the food is far from authentic, shame because the service was good.

Avoid if Gluten Intolerant. The menu does not contain any indication or options for people who dine gluten-free unfortunately. They do not serve gluten-free pasta for example, and most of the menu items are not gluten-free or cannot be adjusted to be gluten-free. We raised these concerns and asked to settle the bill for drinks and leave, the restaurant gracefully waived our bill.

It was divine, we were served by the lovely Sheyda and her service was outstanding. The food was made catered to us and was delicious. Definitely recommend and will be coming again!

Been to Pasta di Piazza many times. Unfortunately this time will be our last ever visit. Nothing is the same like before. Service was absolutely horrific. Rude staff, not professional at all. Table was booked for 4 people, the staff tried to seat us on a table for 2 people... such lack of attention to detail. The blondе waitress was very rude to one of us when came to take order. We were not ready yet and she made an annoyed type of face to us. We decided to move on and try to enjoy the food. Well that was silly of us. The mushroom risotto was absolutely overcooked. It was like porridge consistency. The pasta was extremely greasy. When I asked to speak with the manager he tried to convince me that the lack of professionalism from the staff is just a mix up. And apparently that's how they cook the risotto there. Definitely not going back ever again.

Love the atmosphere, food, people were really nice and I had a surprise happy birthday sung to me with a free chocolate cake 🎂 😃

Went here for a last minute night out, this place is always busy and it offers good quality Italian food. It has a good atmosphere and the service is pretty slick.

Lovely, authentic Italian restaurant near the Jewellery Quarter. I had a very tasty vegetarian pizza with a side dish of green salad. Nice outer facade with a traditional interior and lovely colourful murals. There is a secure NCP car park on Newhall Street about a minute's walk around the corner. Parking opposite the restaurant entrance is for permit holders only. First time visiting and we paid £10.35 on foot for a 2-3 hour stay! It is a little cheaper to pay via the ParkPass app! I would definitely visit again. I'm slow at eating so next time I'll take my time ordering as don't like being rushed.

Always love to dine here especially for a special occasion like a birthday. Food was delicious, as always, portions were very big, drinks were flowing and we were just left to enjoy our evening without any kind of rush at all. Never fails to impress. The food was good, and prices ok, but the service was extremely slow. Barely any customers and 3 waiters, and we had to always flag them (to bring the desert menu, more drinks, etc)

Great cosy, romantic little Italian restaurant in a lovely part of Birmingham just next to St Paul's Sq, only a short walk from the city centre. The food was delicious and the service was attentive.

Very loud music means you have to talk louder but then makes it even louder in the room.

It is insanely incredible in this restaurant. From the atmosphere, the general vibe in here screams Italia and the food tastes just as close as being there. The staff are gentle and provided a nice, chill yet attentive service. We will definitely come back & I highly recommend visiting Pasta Di Piazza💚

Great food and great service, this place is better than Cucina Rustica round the corner IMHO. Upstairs dining room is better than downstairs and if you can get a window is well worthwhile. The steak and porcini sauce is amazing and chefs are *french kiss*. The service is exceptionally balanced in terms of attentiveness. Attracts all sorts of people and you can see why, something for everyone on the menu.

Wonderful experience. Was once here quite a few years ago with friends and was delighted that we all returned here. Everything was superb - the staff, the service, the atmosphere and of course the fantastic food and wine. Absolutely have no hesitation in recommending this place.

I discovered Pasta di Pizza today and was pleasantly surprised, especially by the calamari. It's rare to find calamari done properly in the UK, but this place nailed it. The dish was well-prepared, with a perfect texture, and I could finally enjoy calamari as it should be. I followed it up with a classic Americano pizza (Pepperoni), which was quite good overall: it was not the traditional Neapolitan style, but at least it wasn’t the thin, cracker-like version you sometimes find elsewhere. However, I was hoping for a more flavorful salami. I’ll definitely be back to try their linguine with seafood next time! The staff was impeccable, offering excellent service throughout the meal, though I was a bit surprised by the repeated offers of black pepper with each course. The atmosphere was beautiful—tastefully done without being overly eccentric or too focused on Italian clichés. I particularly loved the interior design, from the walls to the lighting, which added to the overall enjoyable dining experience.

Super location for a family celebration, catering for all tastes and foibles and the service is impeccable.

Very friendly and [generally] knowledgeable staff. Food......been here a couple of times previous generally fresh and sympathetically cooked; but the presentation is lack lustre and smacks of impatience. Boy meets girl; not for me, but old friends and convibial business collesgues ok.

Based on the website, we were expecting fresh, well prepared Italian food which is typical of the majority of Italian restaurants we’ve experienced. However, everything tasted like it was out of a jar or a packet. No real texture or depth of flavour, no seasoning and very much the sort of meal you’d expect from a pub in a two for one deal. The complimentary bread was the first real red flag. The breaded mushroom starter was greasy and completely lacked flavour, and the Octopus Linguine was again, without any discernible flavour or texture. The octopus was overdone, the linguine must have been from a packet and the sauce was definitely o it if a jar. Totally one dimensional. I’m not in the habit of leaving bad reviews but this is the first time in a very long time that I’ve been let down after a meal. There are many good restaurants in the area that offer food with real heart behind it. You can’t get away with this standard for long.

Food was below average. Stuffed mushrooms lacked flavour, quality or attention to detail. Veal Parmigiana looked unappetising, potatoes were dry. Almost like a hospital meal. Ravioli Granchio was ok.

Ohh my god this was good. They had a special of Parma and melon which I have not had since being in Italy. The dough of the pizza was stunning down to the smell of it. The lasagne was so comforting. Also real nice house red, went down well with the food. Mmmmmm

Went in on the off chance of getting a table for 2. Had a lovely main course and a glad of Malbec.

This is one of my favorite Italian restaurants in Birmingham. Around the corner from St Paul's square, it's a bit off the beaten track and provides so much better value for money than right in the centre. Very reasonably priced with great quality food and service. It's perfect and has a lovely ambience.

This spot is really tasty and timing is impeccable the food was exactly what we ordered and was perfect temperature. Staff were delightful.

Came in for my second time here on Monday, for my mom’s birthday. Food was amazing, and the service we received off Rildo was above and beyond. Menu suits pretty much anyone, portion sizes are great and quality is visible too. Will definitely try and get back as much as possible when in Birmingham.

Been to this restaurant numerous times before and always had a lovely meal so bought my girls with me as it was my birthday and it really let me down. The food itself wasnt too bad apart from a burnt garlic bread but the service was crap. Granted the restaurant was busy but we had to keep finding people to ask for things as nobody came to out table the whole time or asked how our food was. My friends drink order was forgotten and it was just overall not a great experience
