Really Lovely and accommodating staff and brilliant food. It is a small business, so wait times can be longer when it's full, but still well worth it! Group gatherings can be a bit more difficult as we found the manager hadn't really given our requests to the staff on the day and it was a bit stressful. But the staff who were in still did all they could to help solve the situation and made it a wonderful experience nonetheless!

This restaurant is closed and has been for two months they tell me by email. I had booked a table and turned up. Shutters down. Booking wrongly accepted!!

Delicious food, excellent service. I had the fish of the day.. Two sea bass fillets, in wine sauce, with fresh vegetables. Followed by a lemocello sorbet, capped by an espresso and an amaretto! Was replete! A lovely dining experience in a simply decorated peaceful restaurant.

Lovely atmosphere with beautiful paintings. The staff were friendly, and service was incredibly quick. The food tasted great and the price felt very fair, I was definitely expecting to pay more than I did going in. Would definitely recommend

This restaurant is a real Italian gem right on Kings Heath high street. Great menu choice, all home cooked, delicious, authentic and fresh. Lovely relaxed friendly service and decor. Family friendly. Give them a try! And like us I’m sure you will return again and again. (We need to try the pizzas next time 😊). Just up from Loco Lounge, car park opposite if you’re driving and don’t manage to bagsy a space on the road. Highly recommended and supports our local businesses.

Wonderful birthday night meal with family. The food was lovely. This was our second visit and the food and service was brilliant the on the second visit as the first. Nothing to much trouble.

Hi all our 3rd Vist here and Nice atmosphere but sadly I wouldn't have written this review had it not been for the very rude manner we were subjected to by the MANAGER and owner. ! 1st the table booked for 7.30 wasnt ready...not a problem but to wait for 20 mins without even a suggestion to wait and have drink. We walked up the high st until ready. The problem started when we ordered a capresse which had meat on. Having already placed the order we ordered again then ordered starters again so wasnt our fault our starters were wrong. The waitresses werent communicating. I was then questioned Gestapo style didyou not read the menu ? I was embarrassied and I apologised as it was my 14 yr old who asked for a capresse. Then when it came back they simply took the meat off rather than prepare it again.. I let that slide again then I was shocked to see our mains arrive luke warm...I noticed that there was a huge party of 30 guest so the manager was in a panicky state. Our food was left waiting for services while the owner took a large drinks order. She came back and said you have to order everything now. Again the main s were sent back. then when the bill came no apology or anything so i spoke up...so rightly I mention that it was disappointing and that they can make things better but she became rude then went around the whole restaurant saying I would not pay which was not true. Only when she became really aggressive I refused to try and calm her. ( me calming her!@#!#) hoping she would come to her senses.. The family was so upset having just had a celebration to have it ruined by a single person. The waitress were so frendly and even confessed she is short tampered I bet you she will now take this out on her staff. Vile lady with no sence of customer service. I had to apologise for my behaviour to othe⁶r customers as I was left with no choice but to replicate her bad behaviour. I did pay when she finally took one main off...price 13.95 for 3 pieces of avioli. You can understand when that's served luke warm it tastes awful. Well it's up to u, would u except that service? Never have we received such bad service anywhere.. absolute disgrace to and an embarrassment to have a manager to run a restaurant treat customers that way. I suggest stay away. Keith Lawrence

First visit to this gem of an Italian restaurant in Kings Heath. The service was superb, attentive but not pushy. Great quality ingredients and excellent cooking. So glad we found it and will be returning.

Visited 5thMarch 2022. This is a really excellent restaurant. Very helpful when booking and lovely staff. The food presentation was really good. We had Steak's for our main meal and they were all cooked just as we requested. The price's were really good compared to most Italian restaurant's. And the wine certainly didn't break the bank. Will we return most definitely

This place should be full every night... Honestly some of the best food I've ever tried. I had the spinach ricotta ravioli, partner had calzone and shared a cheese garlic bread. Everything both looked and tasted amazing. Kudos ro the chef.

I went as part of a group and the staff, service and food was spot on. It is far better than any chain restaurant and is a little gem of a place hidden in plain site in Kings Heath. Highly recommended, and look forward to going back.

Not to keen on the Vegetarian Pizza, I found it a bit dry and not too many veg on it. My first choice from desert menu wasn't available, a bit annoying but the ice cream I had instead was nice. Not really a place for a single person like me but probably a good choice for a romantic couple and indeed a family.

I cannot understand why this restaurant is not packed every night…..it is an amazing place to eat. I have eaten in Michelin star and this rates as high. If you haven’t tried it, go there, family atmosphere with high quality food, belly pork to die for…10/10

Ordered through uber eats. Linguine ai frutti di mare, garlic bread with cheese, tiramisu and sauted potatoes. Tiramisu and potatoes were fine, nothing rave about, but the other two dishes were disappointing. Linguine and sauce were OK but there was only few small mussels the size of a thumb nail and few small prawns. Not enough by far. Garlic bread with cheese turned out to be pizza with cheese. Disappointed.

First visited the restaurant with my partner during the Eat Out to Help Out scheme and we loved the place.. Really intimate and local restaurant feel but also gives the sensation of being on holiday abroad which feels nice right now.. Anyway we were always keen to go back after lockdown and booked a table this weekend. Just love it. Food is amazingly cooked and delicious, service is discreet but always someone around to help, very friendly, genuine family vibe and the atmosphere is lovely. I had carpaccio to start and fillet of beef main, partner had prawns and the fillet too.. Can't fault. Really reasonable prices for the quality and cooking..just a total pleasure and has definitely become our local choice to escape the high street. Would so recommend. And we got complementary Lemoncello too after finishing our sambuca coffees. Go soon and support this local gem.

....last night 30/05/21. Friendly service and good food. The scallops were slightly under for my liking because they were quite big although purists would probably say they were perfectly cooked so it’s just a matter of personal taste. The prawn starter was on point. Both chicken mains were lovely and I look forward to visiting again.

I've been a few times before and never been disappointed, so 3 of us went for a family dinner post-lockdown. The food was delicious, the calamari was the best I've ever eaten. Had a fillet steak for main, it was cooked perfectly. Pistachio ice cream for dessert was also delicious. The waitress was lovely and gave us some complimentary Baileys. Will definitely go again.

Garlic bread was too horrible to eat. Pizza was OK nothing special. The pasta/ravioli was nice but the portion was so small. Not worth the money we paid for it.

Very good.. Great food, excellent service. Just need to place a towel/paper or hand dryer in the gents as I was unable to dry my hands after washing.

Decided to pop out to this restaurant for lunch with friends during the local lockdown. We were not allowed to meet in our gardens etc. Had a good meal- all the food was excellent. The atmosphere was very subdued but that was to be expected in covid times. Good service and a pleasant afternoon. I can recommend this restaurant. Nice food and good service.

Greeting very welcoming, once it became clear we weren't ordering lots of wine it became lukewarm. Food arrived after 45 mins. The side of vegetables was 1 vegetable, boiled cauliflower. The saute potatoes where 5 limp chips. The main was over cooked, the pizza strangled in cheap cheese. When we asked for more drinks the beer and coke arrived but the glass of water didn't, other tables ordering more wine got their drinks. When the bill came it was an astonishing £75, for 3 main courses, 2 beers and 2 cokes. It turned out that an extra main course had been added to the bill (£18.00). When confronted the waiter revealed that he needed acting lessons. A completely horrible experience. Don't go.

I've eaten here a few times now and always had a lovely experience. The food is always great (even during the 'eat out scheme' where I've noticed other places have dropped the ball somewhat) It's biggest strength though imo , lies in the intimate and authentic ambience of the place. (Note:The owner has recently expanded the restaurant at the back, which has meant the beloved fish tank has disappeared, but I must admit ,it is looking good! )

Having had a lovely meal at the restaurant earlier on this year, we decided to use the takeaway service so as to ensure a nice meal at home for my 50th birthday (not ideal but due to COVID-19 we were left with no choice). We chose food for four people made up of pizza, calzone, garlic bread and fries. We received a cold and incorrect order and was told by the delivery man that we’d have to contact the restaurant in order to sort it out. We tried several times to call but it just kept going to voicemail, we left messages for someone to call back but nobody did. We were therefore left with inedible food (it really was disgusting) on a day that we should’ve been going out for a lovely meal (not to this restaurant I might add). We are more annoyed by the fact that we’ve been unable to contact anyone (we’ve sent emails too) - if you offer a takeaway service you should at least be on hand to resolve any problems. We spent nearly £50 on food that was inedible and in part, incorrect. On that basis, we’ll be expecting a full refund (but we won’t hold our breathe!).

I visit around every 2-3 weeks. Food is amazing as is the service. Pasta with the coffee in the sauce ( on the menu) and mussel soup often on the specials my absolute favourites.

Un restaurante fabuloso para una cena romántica, una cena o una reserva para fiestas: piense en este restaurante para su comida navideña en su oficina. Cenaremos aquí nuevamente muy pronto.

Nos detuvimos para una cena improvisada y quedamos encantados con la comida que se servía, el restaurante es independiente y pertenece al chef y, aunque una revisión anterior señala correctamente que el interior está un poco anticuado para los gustos modernos, podría decir lo mismo sobre Fiore en Venecia. El dinero que gasta se ve en su plato y no en la decoración de "diseñador".Volveremos

La camarera fue realmente encantadora y servicial también.Definitivamente volveremos.La única razón por la que no lo he calificado como un cinco es que el interior es un poco clásico y cansado, aunque la comida definitivamente habla por sí misma.

Habíamos reservado una mesa para las 8: 30 pm el sábado por la noche y cuando llegamos nos dijeron que nuestra mesa no estaba lista. No había lugar para nuestra mesa de 4 comensales a la espera, así que nos paramos en medio del concurrido y compacto restaurante, sintiéndonos como si estuviéramos entrometiéndonos y afectando la privacidad de los comensales cercanos. Después de 10 minutos aproximadamente, preguntamos si nuestra mesa estaba lista y nos dijeron que los comensales anteriores todavía no se habían ido. Los camareros no se disculparon de ninguna manera y no nos ofrecieron una bebida complementaria ni nada mientras estábamos parados en medio del restaurante. Alrededor de las 8: 50 pm, finalmente nos llevaron a nuestra mesa en el piso de arriba, que ni siquiera estaba lista para nuestra comida. Todavía no hay disculpa.

We went to this restaurant for the first time for Sunday lunch and were very happy that we did. Friendly staff, good menu, bit of a wait for the food, but as e everything was cooked fresh that was not a problem. Each meal was thoroughly enjoyed and very filling. Would just suggest that the specials board had the prices on, as it's a bit embarrassing to have to ask.

Gino and his staff couldn't do more to help both before and during my husband's 60th birthday celebrations. We booked the upstairs room for a private party of 25. Despite being a large party, all the food arrived together and was hot, tasty and nicely presented. The staff were very attentive and helped to make the evening very special.

I went to Kings Heath with some friends and we ended up in this amazing restaurant. We ordered pizza veneziana, ravioli, risotto marinara, beef stroganoff and my favourite plate saltimbocca alla Romana which was really tasty, the service was one of the best I ever had and the food, as I said, before was very tasty and very generous portions.

Well worth a visit; good to find an Italian restaurant serving something other than Pizza or Pasta very pleasant surprise and the prices placed at a reasonable level.

Decided on a last minute visit meal here and had a very enjoyable evening. In fact I wondered why I hadn't eaten here more often! The food was excellent and so was the service, I will be visiting again.

You walk in and the restaurant has a cosy, welcome feel. For the Eight of us, never eaten at Ristorante Veneziano before, we all agreed the food was excellent, wonderful flavours and staff were informative & helpful. Well done. Will be visiting again.

We have been regular diners here for several years & also had our wedding reception in the upstairs room. Still amazed at the quality & choice of food Vino & the team produce. My husband won't go anywhere else for a steak & no-one cooks the sea bass better. Miss out on this gem at your peril.

The food was excellent, I had the steak and it was wonderful all four of us had lovely food and the Pannacotta I had for pudding was the best I have ever tasted

The main dishes(pork belly off the special board and pizza) were excellent. The meat was well seasoned with a sweet sauce to accompany. The table service great and so was the selection of wines.

Teníamos pizzas, risotto, pasta y pollo en nuestro grupo y todos disfrutamos mucho de su comida. Toda la comida estaba preparada con productos frescos, así que tuvimos que esperar un poco para nuestra comida, pero nos sirvieron pan y aceitunas mientras esperábamos. We came here for my friends birthday and used the tastecard discount. When trying to apply the discount (2 for 1) he refused to apply it on the two starters we had ordered and was incredibly rude.He did not care about the customer service and quite honestly ruined her birthday. the manager even told us to just go to 'prezzo or pizza express' next time - quite frankly we will because the food here is no better. If you are gonna use a discount here make sure you clarify exactly what they offer because they don't seem to follow the same guidelines as the actual discount website. They will be nice to you until you have an issue, just avoid the headache, theres far better italian restaurants in birmingham.

I went for dinner with my girlfriend to taste authentic Italian food in Birmingham and at the end of the dinner this has been our exclamation: Mamma Mia! We ordered tagliere Veneziano to start wich was full mix of vegetables, sliced meat like Parma ham and Italian salami and cheese as well.For main course we asked to get Chianti filet; that has been the best choice of my life. The filet medium cooked was tender and so juicy also for the delicious Chianti souce on top of it. Definitely we will come back soon and we will sponsoring to our Italian friends wich want to taste the real Italian food.Big thanks to Gino who has given us the service

The restaurant has a good choice of meals - this is a huge plus and most of the food was tasty. Delicious soup, garlic bread, mains chicken was fresh and really tasty. I was a little bit disappointed with the chicken in the pasta as it was not fresh and it tasted like a cheap ready pack of small pieces chicken from the shop. Besides this, the food was amazing and I really liked the design inside. It is a little bit pricey but it is worth to visit this restaurant sometime.

It is the typical Italian restaurant that was very popular 15 years ago. And even then it wouldn't have been good. Low-end ingredients, overuse of cheap sauces and cheese to hide bland taste, nothing to do with real Italian cuisine. The pizza didn't even use real mozzarella, the dough was mediocre, cheap tomato...

A little gem of a restaurant on the the main high street in Kings Heath in Birmingham. Welcomed when myself and the wife came in the door. We were there to celebrate a pals 50th bday party, it was my first time at Veneziano. We were shown upstairs to where the party was taking place , the room was a good size and had a good warm atmosphere nicely decorated and clean . Service was very good and prompt. Staff were very caring and accommodating, fine selection of food on menu spoilt for choice. When the food arrived it was nicely garnished and tasted wonderful. Good bar and drinks selection, however no cider on tap bottle or can. This was the only downside for me but it wont detract from the fact that I had a lovely evening in a lovely restaurant with lovely friends. I really rate this little gem of a place. Have walked past this restaurant hundreds of times and never really noticed it but was looking for an Italian that was local and saw the reviews so decided to give it a go - very pleased we did! We had steak and lasagne for mains which were both lovely - the steak looked amazing and perfectly cooked. Olives- lovely and garlicky. Tiramisu for dessert was delicious. The bread rolls weren’t great (heated up from ASDA multi-pack?) but that was the only thing that wasn’t 100%.

This was an impromptu mid week after work visit and wow this place is a little gem, beautifully decorated, pleasant and friendly staff and the best part the food was just beautiful, the salmone tagliatelle was delightful and at only £8.95 a meal will definitely...

....but for some reason have never visited Ristorante Veneziano until last night with six friends when I discovered just how much I’d been missing. Of our seven starters, one was a little disappointing in that it was not as described on the menu, that said, it was far from inedible. All our mains were delicious; nicely presented, hot and tasty. Both desserts were delicious as were the seven liqueur coffees. And, the complimentary drinks afterwards were much appreciated. The staff were attentive and friendly and despite being the last to leave, we were at no point rushed or hurried along. All in all a thoroughly enjoyable evening, so much so that I’ll be booking again in between Christmas and New Year when I’ll deserve a treat, and a break from turkey (dinner, curry, with chips and sandwiches etc!) Would I recommend? Absolutely, loved it!

I've lived near Kings Heath my whole life and have never seen or heard about this secret little gem.

We have eaten in this restaurant many times - and we have honestly never had a bad meal. We would go so far as to say the best most authentic Italian restaurant in Birmingham. Gino and his team are always very welcoming and friendly and whether you order pasta, steak, chicken, fish or pizza it is always delicious. We have eaten in the week, and at weekends and it is always good. We held a party with over 30 guests all eating a 3 course meal and the food was cooked to perfection and piping hot for all guests. We have also been just as a couple/family and we have never been disappointed. Great food, lovely people and really good value for money.

From the moment we entered the restaurant we were warmly greeted and hosted. The setting was comfortable and quiet. We were able to have conversations without intrusive music or background noise. The food was excellent; obviously freshly prepared and full of flavour. we would definitely visit again.

Fuimos hoy aquí para comer algo rápido y no me puedo quejar. El servicio era estupendo y la comida estaba deliciosa, tuve el Salmón Tagliatelle, definitivamente recomendaría Ristorante Veneziano!

Ate here with my husband on a Sunday evening. The restaurant was quiet. The wine was good and the breadrolls that were brought to the table were lovely and fresh. We both had chicken for mains which was a bit overcooked and therefore dry. The sauce was very good and the side of potatoes and veg was really good but the portion was really small.

Great food nice staff and would definitely go back. One thing that stopped them getting 5* was that they told our friends that on a Sunday the 1/2 course deal finished at 5 which was fine but when we left at 7 we saw the sign which said on a Sunday till 7 which I think is quite cheeky. It's a shame because as we left we said how good it was. Regardless we will go back but it definitely was poor service.

Piatti ottimi , specialmente il filetto tenerissimo...se siete a Birmingham, conviene fermarsi è una vera cucina italiana...

Siamo stati a cena in questo accogliente ristorante,abbiamo ordinato un tagliere di antipasti, con crudo,verdure miste,formaggio, arancini e bruschette tutto molto buono,come primo abbiamo degustato degli ottimi tortelloni ai porcini,e ravioli al branzino, ma il piatto forte è stato filetto ai porcini e filetto al chianti cotti a puntino.veramente tutto squisito...complimenti allo chef e allo staff!! ottimo qualità prezzo.

We had a beautiful meal at Ristorante Venezia which made our anniversary very special. Starters of calamari and aubergine wrapped mozzarella were mouthwatering. Main courses of fillet steak, lobster filled pasta, sauté potatoes,a large side salad and a substantial garlic bread were tasty and plentiful. We partnered this with a lovely Montepullciano which was perfect. Our desserts were a tiramisu and a medley of ice cream. We rounded the meal off with coffee and liqueurs. Service was good and our waitress was very friendly and attentive. A wonderful meal and a lovely ambience. We will return again.

Couldn't talk more highly of this lovely restaurant, which for me is an authentic Italian haven away from everything. It is literally like stepping off the high street into Italy. Took my family, not for the first time, to this place. The welcome and service couldn't be warmer and the food was just mouthwatering. I had the white bait followed by a wonderful rich, spinach and prawn risotto. The steak, which my partner had, along with the meatballs for his starter, were also delicious. The manager there really makes the experience - he's definitely the heart of the restaurant and nothing is ever too much trouble - very professional, accommodating and gracious, plus he has great taste in wine, so worth asking for recommendations if ever unsure! The only downside - the fact that the wonderful food and my evenings there eventually have to come to an end, making stepping back out onto that high street so much harder!
