Not a particular fan of UK Italian restaurant as my overall experience of them are not very positive. Did book a table on Sunday night as San Carlo is one of the Birmingham signature restaurants. Didn’t expect much but I do think they did a great job. Food was delicious overall and in generous portions which is a bonus. Calamari was good, freshly fried and still crispy with some squid flavour instead of a rubber in most Italian restaurants. My frutti de mare was good, loads of seafood, probably the pasta is overcooked a bit to my taste. But I like the subtle spicy that bring the dish better. Reasonable service, can see some wear and tear from the decor. Price is reasonable considering the portion is big. Not a exceptional food but definitely a nice one.

They squeezed us 4 in for the Saturday night at short notice, and were great to us. Service impeccable. I was particularly impressed with the allergies knowledge. The food was terrific too.

Awful service yet again. Waited 50 minutes for a main course pre theatre. It's good job we didn't order starters as we had to rush our food. Where do you start with the service in this place. Ordered two aperol spritz which were served without ice. Later found out when we got the bill these were £12.95 each! This is Stoke not London! Who serves a drink like this without ice on a hot summers evening? We weren't asked if we wanted more drinks so after 45 minutes of waiting for food we requested two soft drinks given our wait. No apology just the food would be there soon. When the food eventually did arrive no one came to ask if everything was ok with the food. Had they asked we would have said it was bland. When we were given the bill we requested the two soft drinks be removed as a gesture of good will given the poor experience. The manager/owner proceeded to shout and scream at us in front of a full restaurant of customers. Will not be returning.

Esto es probablemente lo más lejos que puedes llegar de un restaurante italiano, están vendiendo desayuno inglés y comida italiana mínima. El lugar no está dirigido por italianos y no del personal son italianos por lo que la experiencia es completamente no auténtico de la reclamada “café italiano”

Había comprado un cupón Groupon para un té de la tarde para celebrar un cumpleaños 60 con un grupo de amigos, reservé una fecha y hora. Cuando llegamos nos encontramos con un gerente bastante fuera de mano que dijo que no podíamos usar el bono ya que habían sido tomados. No se ofreció ninguna disculpa o intento de ofrecer nada en reemplazo y básicamente nos enviaron lejos. Después de contactar con Groupon, finalmente obtuve un reembolso, pero a partir de hoy (mayo) todavía están vendiendo la misma oferta! Por favor, ten cuidado.

It is a nice place to visit.. with friends and family, I went with my office colleagues and had only drinks.. so I can't comment on food.. enjoyed with my colleagues 😀

Best pub in Uttoxeter, especially the atmosphere 😁👍👍 great beer aswell

Food was lovely. However I got home today to a parking ticket. We was shown to our table we had booked. Not once we're we told to put our registration number into machine, otherwise we would of. This has put us of attending again

We visited today Sunday 27th April and the service was awful. The blonde lady waiting on had a terrible attitude so much so that we witnessed a couple ask for a table by the window, she refused so they walked straight back out. Not once did she smile or make us feel welcome, the whole experience was rushed and rude. We weren’t checked on or asked if we would like more drinks. My partner politely said “excuse me” she responded quickly “she’s getting your Prosecco now” then turned her back, we weren’t actually asking about the Prosecco. Unfortunately this staff member ruined our experience today and we won’t be returning.

Courtney nuestra camarera hizo todo lo posible para que nuestra visita fuera agradable para el cumpleaños de nuestra hija y le agradecemos enormemente que era una chica encantadora tan atenta. Desafortunadamente esta noche solo había 3 camareras en lo que parece ridículo ya que es durante las vacaciones de verano. Una familia entró en el restaurante y comenzó a causar problemas y no había ninguna administración alrededor para ayudar a estas chicas jóvenes, la familia estaba siguiendo a Courtney alrededor del restaurante lanzando abuso. Me ofrecí a ayudar a sacarlos del restaurante y también llamé a la policía. Como ex camarera que sentí por estas chicas esta noche, la gerencia debe estar en el piso no en una oficina o fuera del sitio. Absolutamente asqueado.

Visited Pizza Express as part of a large group while attending an event at the nearby Telford International Centre. As is often the case with larger groups visiting restaurants, I tend to find the service suffers and the food is mediocre. Sadly this was the case on this occasion too. The pasta dish I ordered was lovely but the side salad accompaniment I ordered never arrived until after I’d finished my meal. Dishes were coming out very sporadically which meant some of the table had finished eating before others had received their order. I’m sure this restaurant is great for smaller tables but it suffered with larger groups, which is likely to be a regular occurrence being so close to the International Centre.

Booked the restaurant for dinner pre a show at the Birmingham Hippodrome as it was in the perfect location. Food was tasty, service was prompt and friendly, no complaints at all. Would recommend.
