Very overpriced for what you get! I had the salmon & avocado salad with the smallest tasteless piece of salmon I have ever tasted! My husband had lasagne whìch he enjoyed. The service was ok but we will never go again. I also note that Zizi's never respond to any customer reviews which is so poor!!

We came at approximately 5 pm Saturday evening we did not pre book and as it did not look to busy we thought we be fine, we were told sorry we are full by the female manager which we both found odd as it looked quiet. We stood outside and to our amusement booked a table instantly which was showing available for 2 persons. We walked back in approximately 2 minutes after being sent away with another member of staff at the front desk and a couple in front of us who said to the gentleman we havnt booked is there a table he replied yes of course. Me and my partner could not believe it. Straight after the young lad took us to the table I explained what had happened even he looked shocked and told me she’s the manager. Several times she looked at us and never once apologised or acknowledged what she had done. It became very obvious she was not in a good mood by the look on her face the entire time we were in there. This was my first time eating at zizzi and I felt let down and disappointed as I work in customer service I couldn’t believe she was in a managers role. Rest of the staff were very attentive and welcoming, I was not impressed with the cheesy garlic bread not only did it take approx 30 mins to arrive but only 2 slices had cheese on but we decided not to send back as only had an hour before we had to leave. The lasagne was very nice but the visit was ruined by the attitude of the manager towards us

Starting off with the positive… food was delicious, really could not fault this - especially the mozzarella and garlic bombe. Sadly, the issue was the service. We were kept waiting throughout - We soon found out they were short staffed but at no point were we told there would be any delays. We were sat near the kitchen and could see our food sat on the side waiting. There was not one apology from either of the staff about the wait. Communication with customers goes a long way, especially when you have several young children with you.

A group of 18 ate here the last Tuesday in May. There were only x2 front of house staff and although the restaurant was less than half full it was 70 minutes before I received any food! The food itself was pretty good (if not a little expensive). We paid the bill in 4 groups (going to the till and checking off what we were paying for). The last to pay had a few erroneous items that were unaccounted for (an extra lasagne etc) that they had to pay for! Had to laugh when they added a 10% discretionary’ service charge (with the service being somewhat less than stellar)!

We came in to get a bite to eat after a personally difficult day. The waitress, whose name I didn’t catch, but she was wearing checked trousers- maybe Fallon? Was so lovely, she was exactly what I needed, friendly and kind and she dealt with a difficult issue which happened at the end of our meal. We left a tip, but wanted to say a hunger thank you for cheering me up!

We used to come here regularly when shopping in Telford. We hadn’t been for a while. Our latest visit was so bad we wouldn’t go back. Such a shame. Staff we nice enough but very slow getting food to the table. Our starter was left on the counter and was lukewarm at best. The mains were dried out and we sent them back. We waited 40 minutes for our starter and I think everything had been cooked and dried out. Our second set of mains were no better. My vegetables under the sea bass were again lukewarm. The pasta dish was dried out with very dry chicken in it. They reduced the bill and gave us free coffee which is something but the whole thing left us feeling we wasted our time. As I said, it used to be great.

It had been 6 months since we last visited and we had a poor experience then and doubted we would return, however we had a couple of vouchers to use up and the other Zizzi’s we visited in Shrewsbury had been closed. We went for a late lunch, the restaurant was quiet and had 2 staff members waiting on tables, interestingly this time we were not asked to order via QR code, so an improvement on our last visit when we found the link via the code to be declared malicious by my phones security software. However my wife being coeliac rather than picking directly from the menu items marked as gf or GFA, or even a separate GF Menu, she had to go through the menu and compare dishes against the allergy option folder, this took some time and cost Zizzi 2 stars. Zizzi can mark dishes as vegetarian or vegan which in majority of cases are lifestyle choices, whereas being coeliac isn’t, when we asked why we were given a poor excuse by the waiter that it would put people off. Doesn’t seem to put people off in Pizza Express next nor which identifies meals as gf on its menu. Zizzi’s need to improve the way they they provide the menu for coeliacs as I would say this is not a coeliac friendly restaurant chain. The food when it arrived was piping Hoyt and enjoyable so no complaints there, service was not good, as one of the waiting staff left just after we arrived, I guess for her break, leaving just one person looking after around 7 or 8 tables, taking orders, bringing food and drinks, clearing away, wiping down tables etc. I suspect this due to the problems in getting hospitality staff which has hit restaurants in the last 3 years. Will we return, that is debatable, there would need to be a review of the way they present the gf options. Note this restaurant is card/app only, no cash option.

We had a fantastic meal last week and just had to leave a glowing review for two members of your team! Zarah and Megan both served us and we loved how they made us feel! Both very cheerful, polite and engaging! There was an issue with some pasta being undercooked but they dealt with it swiftly, appropriately and sorted out the issue straight away. It’s rare to have staff like these two in hospitality and they’re a real credit to you! Treasure them! Chefs did an excellent job with the food (aside one small hiccup which was put right immediately and without fuss) and we would defo return for the food and the team. There was only one thing which spoilt our experience and that was the stroppy girl behind bar who was launching bottles into the bin! It ruined the atmosphere as it made us jump a number of times! You can’t have someone bringing down the tone to the restaurant and compromising the efforts of the rest of your team. It is a restaurant, not a pub! This person needs to take lessons from Zarah and Megan! Please can you advise them to place the bottles into the bins not smash them as it let the place down. But that aside it really was fantastic! We will defo come back!

Went Early Evening (booked table), the place was steady but not too busy. Friendly & Professional Staff and Service. Didn't have to wait. Nothing too much trouble, Hubby didn't want the 'Spicy' tomato sauce, so they offered to remove the Spice. Food tasted Lovely and we all enjoyed our various meals. They also gave my Son a different Ice Cream favour in his Sundae as he doesn't like Chocolate (we didn't ask but the gentleman said they could give him a different option if he wanted).

Once again everything was perfect. We were looked after by a young lady called Georgia, who was really good. (I think she will go far) She was attentive and professional but made us feel very welcome. The food once again, was excellent. Since Chloe took over the management of this restaurant everything is just so much better. The staff now actually look as if they enjoy their jobs. They are attentive and accommodating, everyone being helpful, welcoming and friendly. The refurbishment which was certainly needed is very nice indeed. If you haven't used this eatery for sometime, give it a try, you will definitely not be disappointed.

Visited on Saturday, table was booked for 6,30. We arrived slightly early and shown to our table. We were informed that we had to order online using the qr code, which we attempted but it wasn't working so we managed to get one of the servers to put the order through. Drinks came quickly. We had originally ordered garlic bread to come with our mains but when the server put it through it came as a starter which took an hour to arrive. We could see other tables that arrived at a similar time to us also still waiting for food. From what we could see, the servers were flat out but there were only 3 staff in the kitchen and they just couldn't keep up with demand which wasnt helped by completing takeaway orders as well. It took 1 hrs 45 min from ordering to receiving our mains, the food itself was OK but just took too long to arrive, we only chose Zizzi as we had a voucher to use but we certainly won't be rushing back.

Awful awful awful. Restaurant FREEZING Service SHOCKING Food - Overpriced and some pizza bases tasted stale. Couldn’t be bothered to send back as service was so bad. Had to insist on changing tables even though half empty as we were sat by the door in a restaurant with no heating! Had to ask to order drinks and food. Had to wait for some items of food we could see were ready. Not asked about food. Then a team tip added to bill!!! The cheek of it!! You are lucky we paid at all!!!

I pre-booked this table online for a family meal on new years eve - big mistake! We arrived to be told the heating wasn't working (no temporary heaters were visible). We should have left at this stage. The member of staff that served us was polite and drinks arrived in good time. We ordered a mixed platter to share as a starter which, we assumed would not take long. Sitting right next to the open kitchen we were aware this was not a harmonic working atmosphere, there appeared to be no communication between the staff and at least 12 meals going cold, waiting to be delivered to the table. The restaurant was not busy, absolutely no excuse for the non-delivery. After waiting over 30 minutes we asked where our starter was and were provided with a "cold" platter....we immediately sent this back. The manager was overheard saying "I don't care at this stage". Given the abysmal food, service and environment we advised them to cancel our meal as we were leaving.....absolutely atrocious! We went to pizza hut next door, explained our predicament, they couldn't have been more helpful. They even had heating!

Family Christmas outing for 12. I wish we had checked Trip Advisor before booking our family visit. As previously stated, the place was freezing, upon enquiring I was very abruptly told the heating was broken, only later did our very sweet waitress explained it had been broken for over 3 weeks and apologised. Had we have known we certainly wouldn't have booked and we certainly were not about to pay the £26 tip added to our bill ~ having to eat with your coat on is certainly NOT worthy of a tip. There are an abundance of restaurants in Southwater ~ this place needs to sort itself out!

While the staff were friendly and efficient, and the food was good, the place was freezing as the heating was broken! We were not warned about this fact when we booked, and it was too late to find another venue for 7 people when we arrived. The heating had been off for a week, and wasn’t due to be fixed for 2 weeks, according to staff. We ate as fast as possible, as the food was cooling rapidly, and left, to go and warm up. We were very disappointed in our experience, and felt that we should at least have been offered a discount, as our Christmas get together was completely spoiled. People should be told if there is a problem, and given the chance to go elsewhere if it’s going to mar their visit. Not a good policy to attempt to carry on as if there’s no problem, nor a good way to encourage customers to return.

We arrived in the restaurant and were seated at our table. The room was extremely cold, so much so none of our party of 7 could take their coats off. The waitress informed us the heating was broken and had been so for the last week. The waitress took our drinks order and left to sort it. She returned within a few minutes to inform us they only had enough wine for one small glass of wine for our party. Not the best start to our Christmas celebrations. The manager came over to inform is that there was nothing he could do about the heating as the company were waiting for a part and he wasn't allowed to pre-warn customers or buy portable heaters. I was so annoyed that we were not told of this situation prior to our visit. We had to keep our coats on throughout the meal and had to eat our food extremely quickly before the food went cold. The evening was not enjoyable and spoilt our friends get-together, which was a shame as some of our party had travelled from Wales for it. We we not offered even a free hot drink and think they really need to sort out their 'Customer Service' skills, after all, without customers they have no business to run. I would REALLY AVOID a visit to this restaurant any time soon.

We came yesterday(2/12/23) as our friends had raved about how good this place is. Went in got seated and practically jumped on for drinks straight away, not even given chance to sit down and decide what we wanted.(this drastically needs to change as its not good for business). We then proceeded to look at the menu and me and my wife both liked the sound of the "6 layer lasagne". Little did we know that later when it arrived we were highly disappointed with it. The top of it was covered in a 'cold' bechamel sauce, yes you read that right... COLD, and then proceeded to carry on eating through our lasagne and parts of it was painstakingly cold or luke warm. The dish had sticker on the side to let us know it was hot(not very professional at all, needs to change). The only hot part of our food was the fries. The manageress came over 15 minutes later to ask if everything was ok,bearing in mind she should of popped over within first 5 minutes as that is standard waiter service. I told her no it was not and explained why and she was very apologetic and took mains off of our bill for the inconvenience. I am a qualified chef and work and have worked in the hospitality sector as a waiter and the service i produce completely runs this place 10x over. Staff need retraining. Also after i asked for the bill it took a further 10 minutes for the manageress to do so after she said she would sort it after taking our plates away. She proceeded to talk to her colleague about how cold it was by the food counter and then realise she needed to give us our bill. After that a pasta dish was produced and was sat on the side for 10-15 minutes and no member of staff went to get it and it was going cold. Witihin working in hospitality, customer satisfactory is key, such a shame it wasnt this time around. Wont be coming again until you sort yourselves out. Would like a response back asap please.

We visited early on Saturday evening we had booked a table. On arrival the seating host appeared disinterested showing us our table but with no customer service. The restaurant wasn't full, felt cold and appeared messy. Our table was in the middle of the restaurant hence people walking around us and unsupervised children running around the restaurant. We could see a table being cleared by the window and asked if we could move, this seemed to cause quite a problem......the answer was no as the table was booked out later, we asked what time from and the server did not know, no alternative table was offered. Customer service was awful. We left and found somewhere else to eat. We have used and enjoyed this restaurant many times but doubt we will again. We ate at a local independent restaurant that offered superior quality food at similar prices, oh and friendly interested staff. I think Zizzis need to invest in their staff as they appeared to lack knowledge and motivation.

Myself, my husband and our two very good friends recently had lunch at Zizzi in Telford. Telford is where my friends live and we often used to dine at this restaurant. Nevertheless, we all felt it was looking a bit scruffy and tired and the service became inferior, so we haven't been there for over six months. However, we were told by other friends that there had been a change in management and everything was now much improved, so we thought we would give it another try. We were, one hundred percent not disappointed. The restaurant itself has obviously had money spent on it and is now much smarter. But most of all the service has dramatically improved, everything seems to be better and very well organized. The new manager has obviously made a huge difference. The staff now seem to be really friendly. efficient and helpful and the food is just amazing. If you have't tried this yet, you really must, I am certain that you will not regret it. We cant wait to give it another visit next time we are over in Telford. An exceptional well done to Zizzi - and of course to the new manager. You have done a terrific job. Thank-you for making our lunch time such an enjoyable experience.

I haven't been to Zizzi for a long time so decided to visit recently using our tripled Tesco Clubcard vouchers for a treat. The service was great and the food was delicious with large portions - you even get free 'pasta crisps' on the table now! They told us a few things were missing from the menu which was fine as it's the same story everywhere at the moment, but when we ordered they then came back and said oh no that's not available either - so I had to change my order last minute. Apart from that everything was really good. The rhubarb and apple soda drink was amazing!

This was booked for a pre- wedding get together. 15 of us to manage, and the waiting staff were friendly and efficient. It was a Sunday evening and wasn’t that busy, so easily fit us all in. Standard Zizzi food, nothing special. Tried the cocktails as it was a special occasion, they weren’t too special really. I like that you can see the kitchen and pizza oven. Food much better than their next door neighbours (Miller & Carters) Prices even better especially when using the downloaded Taster Card which gave us 50% of our main meal. We went to celebrate my daughter's birhday. When seated by waiting male No 1 we were asked what we'd like to drink whilst looking at the menu. The order never got put into the system and we were left hanging until waiting male No 2 came over. Although some 47 younger than me we've obviously knew each other because he kept calling me mate. My new mate explained the drinks options and I understood that the Peroni Zero came in large and small bottles so I asked for a large Peroni Zero for myself, a small bottle for my wife and my daughter wanted a Pinot Grigio Rose. This time the drinks arrived but my mate had the taken the order incorrectly because I received a large bottle of real Peroni and my daughter a 'white' Pinot Grigio. My daughter graciously accepted her white wine but I couldn't accept mine because I was driving. The lady waiter (can I say waitress any longer?) returned with a bottle of Peroni Zero! The food was underwhelming and it seemed more of a fast-food restaurant (especially as more orders were going through the door as take-aways) than a dining experience. If I'd realised that a new Japanese restaurant had just opened next door I would have gone there. At least their staff are attentive and professional. My wife is annoyed that I'm an over-tipper but on this occasion I merely paid the £85 bill for what was barely a £40 meal.

We thought it would be nice to try an Italian take away from Zizzi and we wasn’t disappointed. Ever item was labelled to make it easy. The Bruschetta and Bocconcini Caprese starters were both very nice. Then there were the mains, a Calzone Carne Piccante and a Pork & Wild Boar Meatballs Al Forno. Again both meals were excellent which is why I felt it was necessary to give a review.The Calzone Carne Piccante is one of the best I’ve ever had, the pizza base wasn’t dry and inside was packed with lots of very tasty meats, quite spicy. We will certainly be having another one and will be recommending it to our friends.

My dad likes to come here a lot, he'd likely have a higher review than me.However I find the food always under seasoned and bland. My pasta was pretty watery and tasteless. The staff are always friendly however, and I'm sure if I complained they would have been very attentive. Not sure the point of these reviews as I noticed Zizi’s never respond, but 4 of us went for a meal today and got seated (going well so far). Waitress asked us for drinks order after around 10 mins and then another waitress arrived around 5 mins later to ask if we wanted to order. The waitress took our orders which were starters and mains... 15 mins later the starters arrived and the food was good. After waiting over 40 mins for our mains I called over a waitress to ask why our meals had not arrived. A few moments later the manager weirdly and casually walked over (who did not look like a manager from the very casual clothes) to our table and said without conviction that there was an issue in the kitchen and walked off and said ours is next.. funnily enough others people had arrived nearly 30 mins after us and had their meals. The kitchen is open and the kitchen staff looked fine to me and was working hard, but it would seem they forgot to cook our order and the manager just lied instead of acting like a proper manager and having the guts to be honest about their mistake. The waitress that originally seated us gave us a table check straight after we had our pizza and so we asked for sauce.. 15 mins went by and no sauce but this same waitress was talking to colleagues and cleaning tables. I called her up and mentioned after we finished our food that she didn’t bring the sauce and she just said sorry and walked off and kept going up and talking to the manager. After we were sat with no food left on the table a waitress decided to come over after around 10 mins or so to ask if we wanted deserts, to which I said we did but now we just want the bill. The bill came with an optional but already added tip so I demanded the tip be taken off and reprinted to which she seemed surprised somehow. After we paid after waiting even longer for the card machine to arrive I told her how the service is an absolute disaster and maybe her manager should know. We were told we had a 90 min slot but we arrived at 2.15 and didn’t leave until 4.15 because we didn’t get our food until after the 90 mins. The manager did not offer free deserts or anything and to be honest I don’t blame the staff but they are obviously lacking any proper management and leadership to run the place. If you can’t cope with numbers then don’t allow a full booking..

Usually I avoid Italian style restaurant chains as they don’t seem to capture the taste of real Italian cuisine, however I was pleasantly surprised at the food quality. Each dish served was beautifully presented and tasted amazing. Even the pepper from the grinder tasted amazing! If you like traditional or contemporary Italian food, you’ll enjoy it! Word of advice, the garlic bread starters are enough for 2-4 people, so if you’re choosing from the set menu, order a selection of different starters, however the staff were happy to provide a take away box for the leftover garlic bread The food was very well priced but the drinks are where they make their money, they were very expensive, with a bottle of wine costing more than 3 courses! I would have given 5 stars if it wasn’t for the long queue outside, it was very cold and didn’t expect to be stood outside for 15 minutes despite having a table booked along with everyone in the line. Slightly confused by the length of queuing time as nobody left during this time?Waiting staff were very pleasant and our food and drink requests were taken and delivered fairly quickly. Chairs were quite uncomfortable and I would suggest you request a booth. One other criticism is the policy on tipping, the tips are shared between the team, I prefer to tip the person who waits on us. Overall I was very surprised at the food quality and would definitely visit again.

It’s hard to imagine a situation where a struggling restaurant would turn away a willing table. As Zizzi’s regulars, we took our friend for her birthday to the Telford branch, knowing it to be a trustworthy and honest chain.Reticent and lairy would be the nicest ways to describe our welcome by the manager, who said our party wasn’t able to be seated because she “couldn’t put the order through”, despite our not having been seated yet. After a bit of discussion, it was clear that we weren’t welcome, and we took our patronage elsewhere.In times of struggles, particularly during corona, I was surprised that managers were able to turn away regular customers. I can say that we won’t be regulars anymore.

Having a couple of days break in the area we were struggling to find a restuarant with availability on a Tuesday evening due to the current government incentives - luckily this restaurant was re-opening for the first time! Booking online was simple and we were warmly greeted on arrival to a restaurant in which we felt had taken good Covid precautions. Service was great and meals delicious - so much so that we booked again for the following evening. The restaurant is clearly very popular as potential diners were being 'turned away' both nights as it was fuly booked.Reasonable range of Gluten free options.

Family get together for lunch. Arrived at 12.30 for our pre booked table. Staff were welcoming and attentive, we had a table for 16.Drinks orders were taken promptly, colouring pens and activity sheets already on the table for the children too. Good specials on board 2 of the men went for the wild boar and venison calzione which they said was delicious. They catered for 2 children who are lactose intolerant who wanted pizza they had a vegan option which was soon demolished. I had 2 fillets of sea bass with a lemon sauce and herby potatoes which was lovely fresh and light. We took a birthday cake with us to the restaurant which was brought out in a timely manner by our lovely waitress. Great food, atmosphere and staff well done and Thank you for a lovely afternoon lunch.
