I had the lamb shank (£25) which was swimming in a disappointing gravy, and served on top of a gloopy mash potato which i could not stomach. I had the no alcohol mojito (6.85) which was basically a crushed strawberry in lemonade. It looked awful and didnt taste great either. The tiramasu was mediocre I left the place feeling ripped off. However, the serving staff were really great!

Table for six booked for a Friday night. The restaurant looks quite nice from the outside and inside. Firstly and most importantly (for me) as a food critic it’s all about the customer service which was disappointing. Literally all the staff were miserable. This restaurant would be better off having robots serving you as the staff were in a coma. I will give a score Depending on what was ordered. Starters were nice but my spaghetti was tasteless. The restaurant was really hot and we all sat in the heat sweating. The noise level was ridiculous and you couldn’t have a conversation. The staff need to be nice and break a smile once in a while Summary Customer Service 1/10 Food 6/10 Overall customer satisfaction 5/10. I just wished that the staff and management would appreciate your custom. They are so busy it just felt like you were rushed in and out. Needless to say I will never go back.

Falsely advertised an Italian. I’m not really sure what this place is, but it’s not Italian. There is no prosciutto or any other pork product and it seems to be halal only, which is mutually exclusive with Italian food.

Excellent food as always. Four of us went for lunch on a Sunday. Lots of choose from. Amazing portions all meals cooked from fresh. Great staff who were very attentive.

Have just read the reviews which are very mixed I was really surprised to read the negative ones. Had no problem booking for 7.30pm on a Friday we arrived half an hour early and were greeted by a very friendly gentleman and were spoken too by a lovely happy waitress. We were seated on the right of the restaurant where there were mixed nationalities. The food was delicious we had starters my partner had prawns and avocado and I had scallops. The mains I had chicken in a sauce with asparagus and my partner had the halibut all full of flavour and cooked to perfection. What a change not to be overcharged for wine ...we took our own. Great meal we will be back

Booked table a week in advance. When we arrived confusion over the booking for 6.30 as had wrong name written down in diary Tasty food with good portions. After dessert, plates were quickly cleared away and we were presented with bill despite still having drinks in front of us. Staff kept coming to table to see if we were ready to pay bill. The same member of staff who booked us in also came and asked us if we had booked the table and at what time? It was obvious that they wanted us to leave. Table booking is a shambles and definitely needs improving. Based on this we will not be returning and would definitely not recommend.

Travelled from Manchester to visit Ponte. Said we can have a table at 6.45 but need to give it up at 7.30 as they couldn’t find our booking. 45 mins isn’t a reasonable time for them to make the food and for us to dine. I ordered the tagliatelle pasta which was nice, big portion and I left over half the portion. I asked for this to be packed up to be taken back to Manchester. Got home and they had packed my friends leftover chicken piece (small than a chicken nugget) and chucked my pasta despite clearly asking for this to be packed. I’m not concerned did this get reserved to another customer as they were busy and my portion was more than half. I was too full after eating bruschetta and garlic bread pizza. Paid nearly £20 for the pasta and they practically had £10 on my money. Won’t be visiting again!

This restaurant is a great place to go if you are after a lively atmosphere and delicious Italian food. Six of us enjoyed a really excellent meal and great service last night. The restaurant was busy and there was a lively atmosphere. All of the dishes we ordered were really tasty and very well cooked. Our pre starter of tomato garlic bread was divine…. as always! The fish soup was excellent and full of fish. The melanzana parmigiana was gorgeous and lobster ravioli was well filled, hot and delicious. All main courses were lovely with the scallops and king prawns generous and perfectly cooked. Once again a great night !

This was a strange experience...... I went to Moseley rather than into the City Centre in order to avoid parking issues. Unfortunately the same problem exists there. An apparently authentic Italian restaurant that doesn't serve alcohol or pork orientated dishes?!!!! I wonder why?... The food was average at best and came at different times for myself and my mother. We couldn't work out why the food took so long to arrive as it looked fairly devoid of customers, but all became clear later on. The reality is that there is a deliberate segregation of customers. Asian customers were sat in an area away from everyone else which is not something I've ever experienced!!!

Beautiful little spot for some authentic Italian food (which is also halal). Family run business the owners are lovely and the food is amazing. A fan fave is their steak and the Seafood linguine 👌🏽

We went in to ask if they had a table for 2, and the gentleman said no, so we left. A minute later a different staff member called us back in from the door as we were walking off and said there was in fact space, so we went in. 20 mins later and no one had come to take our order, then they finally did, we waited for about an hour whilst other customers were being seated and served their meals but still nothing, so we left! Odd experience.

Starting with the positive, the food was good and each time I’ve been here that has been the case. Unfortunately the service isn’t matched, I’ve been a few times and the service hasn’t been great but my recent visit was terrible. Our table was booked for 7:30pm and we weren’t seated until around 8:15pm, we weren’t given any acknowledgement during this time except for being told someone had mistakenly given away our table of 6 another group. Once the food arrived, two of our starters were missing which we flagged but they ended up being served the same time as the mains. During mains, the wrong pizza was brought which they took back and changed, by the time this came most of the group had finished eating. Alongside this, three other dishes were missing. The staff were apologetic but the only form of compensation offered was to not charge for one of our starters (olives), we were all beyond disappointed in this given the level of poor service. It’s a shame because the food is good (albeit pricey), but we won’t be returning after this visit - there are by far better Italian restaurants in Birmingham with great food and better service at the same price point

My husband and I spent two weeks in Italy and realised we didn’t know how good we had it lol! This is our go to Italian restaurant since moving to the area, here are some of the things we love: The classic bruschetta (we didn’t find better in Italy!). The goats cheese starter (10/10) The scallops (perfectly cooked, lovely subtly spicy sauce). The lasagna (so cheesy & rich, yum!) The spaghetti primavera (just wow! So tasty!) The prawn linguine (so good!) The garlic bread with cheese (dare you to find better anywhere!) Pictured is the minestrone soup I had on this particular day which I found lovely and refreshing. I also realised on this particular day that I’d never tried the pizza here - let’s just say it did not disappoint! Super fresh and tasty. There’s also a pic of the scallops & bruschetta. Can’t wait to return 💗 (Don’t forget to bring your own alcohol.)

The only restaurant I have been to 10+ times and it is CONSISTENT every time. The food is absolutely delicious every single time, never had a bad meal. It is pricey as you bring your own alcohol so it’s subsidised but it is worth it. The team of waiting staff are very attentive and always running around as the restaurant is entirely full every night. I am shocked with some of the reviews on here complaining that the waitress is rude, no she’s not, she is attentive and gets the job done. I am also so surprised somebody said the potatoes were too hot! How can you complain that food is too hot… I am always sending food back elsewhere for being too cold! Anyway, best restaurant in Birmingham. Ignore the misinformed reviews. I’m coming back next week again.

The other two had beef stroganoff which was nice but should be for £27. My lamb shanks was disappointing. No sauce, no veg apart from a few onions and 2 cherry toms. What is more they've hiked the prices massively

The guy that "greeted" us (sourfaced and like we were asking for the moon on a stick) immediately reminded me why we stopped going there in the first place. We were begrudgingly given a table for two (at 6pm) with the caveat that we left by 7.30pm. Fine, we just wanted our dinner. The female waitron expressed obvious disgust we couldn't understand Italian as she slammed our food on the table (begrudgingly stating the meal in English). Although the food was delicious and the subsequent attentions of nicer waiting staff improved our mood, our 47 mins onsite was tainted by the initial morose reception by Napoleon and Miss Cantankerous. Won't be going again!

Sad to see such a great establishment crumble. Been frequenting this place for the good part of the last 7/8 years. Regular for birthdays and anniversaries. Attended today, and don't know if the ownership has changed but definitely new staff now working. I was shown to my table by a very rude waitress. You can just see by her face she wasn't happy with her life. Threw the menus on the table, huffing and puffing away. Could hear her complaining about customers in the background. Sat for 2 mins and she came storming back asking if we were ready to order. I didn't feel comfortable sticking around, so we walked. AVOID like the plague if she's still working there. I've never been to Ponte Di Legno before despite my parents have being moseley residents for the better part of 25 years - not sure why I waited so long.There seemed to be some miscommunication over my last minute booking as they did not have it down when I arrived but as we were only 2, we were seated promptly with no issue. I was a bit wary of how the service might be given some of the reviews but I have to say everyone we interacted with was lovely! The food came within a reasonable amount of time (too quick and I always have my suspicions it's not fresh!). We both ordered seafood risotto having seen it arrive for the guy next to us. Absolutely divine!! Copious amounts of seafood, rice cooked to perfection and a nice hint of garlic too. Would highly recommend this dish although several other plates of food came out that would definitely tempt me to try something new.Will not be leaving it so long to make a second visit!

We went to Ponte Di Legno for the first time yesterday (Saturday night). The first thing you notice is the restaurant is very loud, this is not caused by individuals but the collective background noise which is off putting. I enjoyed my meal - goats cheese salad, lamb and profiteroles which was well cooked and presented. The prices is a little expensive for what we had and not really traditional Italian but certainly enjoyable. The restaurant gets very busy and I think this affects the customer service because they are going to be busy so it doesn’t appear important to the staff. I will go back but would sit in the quieter side of the restaurant.

Parking is on a little side road, not the greatest, but better than some. Inside looks nice. Overall a nice little place.

My husbands treat for my birthday, absolutely amazing little restaurant set in the heart of Moseley village. The staff were amazing the service was impeccable. You usually require a reservation but they made provisions for us and our baby. Food is authentic and full of fresh ingredients. The buzz is something else. I would highly recommend this place if your looking for authentic Italian cuisine!

Saturday night. Kid free. Me and the wife pre-booked ponte Di legno. 9.30 table. The food was un-real. The steak !!! And the price was really good. Atmosphere ok. A little annoying that you have to take your own alcohol but hey-ho. For the price, was a minor price to pay. Will definitely be re-visiting in the near future

Ponte’s is a little Gem. Food is always good, portions are huge. Can be tight as it’s very popular and busy. BYOB is amazing and will save you cash. Wonderful Seafood menu also. They also made it special by candle lighting the tiramisu for my wife bday dimming the lights and playing music. Thank you. Food was excellent. I think for the quality and portion it’s a goodPrice. If you drink you are saving by bringing your own booze. So it balances

I went here for the first time with a friend to celebrate my birthday. When booking I discovered on Fridays and Saturdays there are two sittings, this information should have been included on line. The restaurant is small and intimate but not crammed. Soft lighting and music creates a relaxing environment. Staff were ok, not over friendly but not rude either. There was a good choice of foods including non meat options prepared in an open plan kitchen. I was really impressed with the fish options, I had monk fish and my friend had sword fish. In my opinion these meals are pricy, even more so as they do not include sides. That said, the portions are generous and I really enjoyed both choices. Although we don’t drink, you are allowed to bring your own alcohol. Staff played ‘happy birthday’ and gave me a large slice of cake which was a lovely touch. I really enjoyed my meal, I would certainly recommend and will return.

I have been to this restaurant at least three times in the last 2 years. Generally very nice Italian food. I especially like their starters particularly their Agnolotti Alla Aragosta - Raviloi filled with lobster topped with light creamy lobster sauce and peeled prawns. Exquisite really. But my main and only problem is this. One of their servers, a very tall person was quite racist to us. I will not bother to explain here but let's see if the restaurant gets in touch with me to find out more. Let's see if they care. I just want to say that for all the food in the world, I will not be going there again and will be telling all my friends and family to stay away as well.

Los platos tienen el mismo sabor cada vez que vas, ¡así que no te decepcionará si tienes un favorito en particular!Debido a la popularidad, la comida se sirve rápidamente y se le presenta la factura tan pronto como limpia sus platos. Si hace una reserva, le dirán que tendrá que irse a una hora determinada, generalmente una hora. No obstante, le aconsejo que haga una reserva ya que el restaurante es impredecible en cuanto a si puede conseguir una mesa.

BYOB. Great food and to arrive with your own booze is an excellent key selling point. Food cannot be faulted, service is good. Location is close to village and across the road from Patrick Kavanagh pub, super combination.

Empty when we first arrived but soon filled up very quickly filled up. It was obvious that many were not there just for the first time. Staff were excellent true Italian class and food superb. Highly recommened

He estado allí varias veces en Ponto Di Lengo, el servicio siempre es bueno, las comidas son buenas y el ambiente es bueno y el personal es lo suficientemente amable, y tú tomas tus propias bebidas, pero las comidas son un poco caras en mi opinión, yo y la Sra. comió 1 pizza de ajo para comenzar a compartir y 1 comida cada una sin extras 44, 00 buen trabajo, puede tomar sus propias bebidas de otra manera cuesta una fortuna, pero las comidas están bien y bien presentadas, pero no se apresuraron a regresar porque de precio, debe haber 1 s más barato alrededor, tampoco es bueno para el estacionamiento, tienes que encontrar una calle lateral. Pero hay muchos por aquí.Para resumir No es un mal italiano pero es un poco caro

All of the food we ordered was excellent. I ordered a chicken steak which has got to be one of the best I have ever tasted. The food smells good and tastes good and you enjoy eating it until it finishes The garlic bread is superb The mojitos are also nice and the presentation is superb The service is very good, with friendly and helpful staffHighly recommended

Un ambiente muy agradable con algo de comida italiana cálida. Trae tu propio alcohol que es bueno. La única crítica sería que un miembro del personal en particular fue bastante grosero. Friends invited us to join them for dinner. At first we were apprehensive as we had never dined in Moseley before.However although parking was restrictive a very friendly local invited us to park on his drive and even guided us in - this made an excellent start to the evening.As the restaurant does not have a licence we had a drink at the pub opposite The Patrick Kavanagh - what a gem.Stocked with our booze we were shown to our table and were surprised that although it was Thursday the restaurant was packed.The food choice was excellent and after we had all had our different starters and main courses were all feeling very full and contented having experienced an Italian extravaganza of such delicious food with very attentive waiters and maitre d.I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

We have been coming here for over 10 years - as a couple and now as a family. The food is wonderful and the service is great. You can bring your own booze which is always a bonus. It is not the cheapest but worth the prices as the quality is so good.

First visit to this small but very popular restaurant.You are able to bring your own drinks and there is a very well stocked off licence just across the road that you can pop to before your meal.The food was delicious and good sized portions but the staff seemed very keen for you to pay up and go as soon as you have finished your meal.Bill brought to our table without being asked for.This is a shame as it would be nice to finish your dessert and drinks without being made feel unwelcome.Would I return - Maybe.

Went on a Wednesday night & food was incredible! BYOB as well so makes for a cheaper meal. Only thing I would say (prevents 5 stars) is perhaps the time we waited for food. A bit longer than we would have liked and no apology, having said this they were very busy and the fantastic food did make up for it.

First time I visited for a friends birthday and they had all been before and highly recommended it. It’s bring your alcoholic own drinks which worked great. Staff were great and very switched on and friendly. Food was beautiful, proper traditional Italian food! The food was very reasonably priced and the portions were huge! Some reviews on here have complained about the noise but it was busy because the food is great and everyone appeared to be having a good time. I think it’s suitable for everyone but it’s definitely idea for groups of adults and want to have a good time and share a few drinks. Had more of party feel to it that a romantic meal for 2 but certainly wasn’t too rowdy or noisy. Will 100% be coming back!

This was our first visit but I'm sure it won't be the last. I'm not surprised that it was so busy on a Tuesday evening as the food was lovely and portions were large. Although there were 16 of us the entire order was correct. It is a BYO on alcohol however they prefer you don't BYO Soft drinks which was fine with us . They were dealing with at least 4 large parties but it didnt seem to bother them. The staff were polite and helpful without being intrusive. Everyone in our party seemed very happy with their meals (fresh and full of flavour).

Este es un bonito restaurante justo al lado de la carretera principal en el pueblo de Moseley.Han estado viniendo a Moseley durante años y lo han pasado, pero decidí intentarlo.Habíamos reservado con antelación pero llegamos más de 20 minutos tarde y llamamos antes y terminaron siendo serviciales. Nuestra mesa se regaló pero nos dijeron que otro sería 10 minutos que era.El menú tiene una buena selección. Por si acaso no hay muchas pizzas. Decidimos pedir una pasta de pollo y una pizza. Tomó un poco de tiempo para que saliera la comida, pero había una gran fiesta ante nosotros.El lugar es bastante pequeño, pero en general tiene una buena apariencia. En cuanto a la comida, los platos que elegimos eran muy buenos y sabrosos y las raciones eran buenas. La pizza se veía y sabía muy bien. Si algo un poco más suave entonces me hubiera gustado, pero en general bien.También pedimos profiteroles como postre y fueron geniales. No pedimos entrantes pero también se veían geniales de otros comensales.Los camareros eran en general educados y atentos.Un buen toque es que puedes traer tus propias bebidas.Algunos puntos leves a considerar que fuimos a mediados de la semana y estaba ocupado, así que sabia reservar. También era un poco ruidoso el lado en el que estábamos.En general, un sólido italiano independiente. Felizmente regreso

Un gran servicio, nuestro camarero parecía muy experiencia y era humorístico y suave durante toda la noche. También estaba muy bien informado con respecto a mi madre y hermanas preguntas y preocupaciones sobre la dieta torpe. Los músculos que son geniales considerando que estamos en la región central y BYOB, no pueden salir mal. Todo el personal amable y profesional. cualquier queja sobre el estacionamiento me hace reír, ya que no estoy seguro de lo que esperas, en medio de la ciudad y desafortunadamente no hay estacionamiento en la azotea. Encontramos un montón de espacios alrededor de la zona.

I’ve been coming here for years and I’ve never had a bad meal. You can bring your own booze and it’s always busy. This means they usually operate a couple of sittings. My only gripe this visit was the service could have been better. Most of the service was great and friendly but we asked for our wine to be opened (they do this for you) but we were handed a corkscrew. Never had this happen before and there was over a half hour wait for the bill but other than that it was a lovely evening.

Visité el restaurante después de una recomendación. En primer lugar, no hay estacionamiento, ya que es bastante residencial cerca y con líneas amarillas en frente. Nos dimos cuenta de que algunas personas se estaban yendo en la acera al frente.Entras en el restaurante a través de una puerta y un pasillo estrecho, tan pronto como entras, la puerta de una caja eléctrica está colgada a la mitad (no es una buena primera impresión)Nos sentamos en nuestra mesa y pensamos que era un buen menú que pedimos entrantes y platos principales, pero nos decepcionó, ya que la comida era normal, pero el servicio era pésimo y al tipo pequeño con anteojos y una barba de chivo no podía importarle menos. Estaban bastante ocupados, lo cual es agradable. Los cubiertos no estaban limpios y bastante viejos. El lugar podría hacer con una capa de pintura en el interior.

Lovely, authentic Italian food. Service and quality was very good, as an added bonus it is unlicensed, so you can take advantage of the excellent nearby Off Licence, plus the very enjoyable Patrick Kavanagh pub.

Fui a mi cena de cumpleaños con mis amigos, he estado en este restaurante en varias ocasiones y desde luego no me puedo quejar de la comida ni del personal. La comida es absolutamente deliciosa y puedes tomar tu propio alcohol, ¡es genial! Definitivamente lo recomiendo a todos mis amigos y familiares.

Always a bit cold in here but I think that just may be me. Service is very friendly and food and drinks are awesome. My kids love it too. If it's busy make sure you are prepared for the wait and try book in advance on busy days. Worth the wait and layers in clothes!

Visited here last night, we booked 7pm sitting, it was very busy when we arrived and table was not ready as there is not much space it was getting very cramped in the entrance as other people were also waiting. Eventually we got to our table for 8, it was a very tight fit. As always the food was amazing and very tasty, unfortunately it was very noisy and we could not really have a conversation, we have decided eating lunch or late afternoon is much better. I am not sure why they have specific sitting times on Sat evenings as they cram far too many people at the same time which does lead to chaotic service. Having said all of above it is still a very good place to eat and will continue to frequent.

3 of us went to this restaurant and had an amazing evening. Service was excellent and the food was amazing. This place never disappoints and a nice touch bringing out cake for my birthday. Thank you for a lovely night in a great atmosphere

We visited on a Saturday night, earliest table available was 930pm so knew it would be busy but was well in the mood for some Italian food and had heard good things about here. We arrived on time and were promptly welcomed and sat. Our table for two was next to several large groups so it was quite loud, also there wasn't much space between the back of my chair and the table behind, this corridor was frequented by waiters zooming past which was a bit of a stress. When the food arrived though I soon forgot about the other tables, I ordered the halibut and my partner ordered the Monkfish. Both were generous portions, and so tasty, really excellent cooking, nice hot plates and colourful sauces. Can't wait to return. It's BYOB too, which is great for somewhere with such high quality food, making the bill not too shocking as we could take our own wine.

Visited with friends. It has been years since I last eat here. There were still people working there I recognised so that’s a good sign. Food was excellent and being able to take your own drink makes it a less expensive evening. Can recommend

My family came here on a Friday evening. We had a booking - so were expected. The place is very busy and popular - maybe because it isn't licenced meaning you can bring your own alcohol. Because it's so busy the restaurant has a feel of being rammed with many people queuing for a table.As a result the service is poor and you have to wait ages for your food to arrive - so make sure you bring plenty of drinks with you - to help with the wait. The food when it eventually arrived was well average - I say this having eaten in loads of Italian restaurants.Overall we were all disappointed with our experience, albeit as we brought our own drinks the bill was slightly lower.

Saturday night, great food and a great atmosphere. A starter and a main worked out to £20 per head and you can bring your own alcohol. I had the tagliatelle dish (with chicken) and it was very good. Will definitely be returning

On the 20th of January my partner and I booked and went here for dinner. The initial experience was positive, the waiting staff were friendly and attentive. There was a large party near us, some of whom were loud, and shouting things such as 'my lasange is better' 'i prefer Dolmio' basically - annoying offensive and pointless noise. One woman was so drunk she was face down on the table for the majority of the evening. However, the restaurant manager chose to over look this and allow them to be loud and rude. Instead he turned his attentions to making my partner and I feel uncomfortable. He asked if wanted dessert, we declined he then told us to stop kissing. Kissing, we had just has a lovely meal, we were sat beside each other, we kissed a couple of times, at the ripe old age of 36 & 40 we are more than aware of how to conduct ourselves in public and levels of decency. He was rude, dismissive and obviously unable to understand two humans enjoying each others company. Both my partner and I are heavily tattooed, a lifestyle choice we have made, I get that. But we were so obviously judged as bad people as a result of this. It was glaringly obvious that because we look 'different' we were somehow going to behave badly. We didn't. The people near us were but were pandered too as clearly their non tattooed skin makes their money better - who knew!? I asked the manager to speak to us. I explained my disdain of his behaviour. He was monosyllabic at best. As we left my partner went to pay, the manager refused to put the change in my partners hand. The waiter asked me why we were so upset, so I explained this to him, in front of the manager and the chefs who has not come to listen. I thanked the waiters and the chefs for the delicious food and apologised that our evening and memory of the restaurant was marred by the manager. The looks on their faces suggested that they were aware of this vile judgemental human. So Italian food is not the food of love, a revelation to all of us hey. So please do not be slightly different looking and certainly do not be in love!

I’ve been coming here for over ten years now. Pure consistency of quality on food and service. Had the fillet steak Diane this time which I haven’t had in many years, wasn’t cooked to perfection like I requested (m-wd) but didn’t deserve a complaint. Restaurant is still busy considering it was a weekday in January. I’m glad these guys haven’t gone on to become some big chain! Can’t wait to return!

Amazing italian, amazing service. Was welcomed as i walked in and was given a table without a booking. I was lucky to get a table as it was busy. Beautiful food recommendation by the waiter. Will be back soon!!!

Despite living literally a few minutes’ walk from this restaurant, for some reason we’d never actually made it here before.From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was really buzzing, but without being overly loud (just groups of people chatting and generally having a good time) The food was just incredible. The best garlic bread I’ve ever tasted, and my steak was absolutely perfect.Despite being really busy, the service didn’t suffer at all.Genuinely can’t wait to dine here again in the VERY near future. Absolutely superb.
