How does he handle the salad without gloves... I could smell the horrible smell of India all over the store.You have a person standing at the cash register with some huge nails ... a cafe for Indians, not to mention that the vegetables had a lot of pepper.. I don't know how the owner doesen't see these aspect.... It was my last visit........ they loose all the god staff..

Awful!!! Pizza was not nice, the panini wasn’t even a panini it was focaccia bread! Didn’t even touch it presentation was a mess. The staff walk round in a daze don’t understand you and are not attentive AVOID!

I went to the restaurant at 10 am, I ordered a latte and a breakfast (vegetarian), there was a man at the till wich I asked him to pay because I had to go to work. I paid and I didn't recived the receipt , actually I didn't even realize it. After receiving the latte wich didn't looked like a coffe, actually smelled of burnt milk and looked like a combination of coffee and water, horrible. The breakfast came with a tomato juice (on the menu it says grill tomatoes) and bread full of butter without being toasted. In response to the coffee I received, he told me to go where it's better. With such employees it is not worth coming back. I think that even the boss does not know what his employees do, who certainly sell without giving a receipt, I didn't wait to get my money back and I leave.

We tried this cafe as it had been recommended we ordered two vegetarian breakfasts, when they came there was no egg on either plate and the toast was cold obviously been sitting for a while,the tomatoes were tinned not grilled as in the menu, not such a problemare the waitress told the chef to hurry and do fried eggs, I asked for the breakfasts to be kept warm until the eggs were done, when they were returned to us both off the eggs were not cooked, the toast was nice and fresh but the breakfast was horrible Hash browns had a funny taste beans were hard hence to say we didn't eat it, when we went to pay I said it was unedible and was told it was the chefs second week, only paid for drinks, what chef can't cook eggs wouldent recommend, my friend who recommended the cafe was horrified

Ordered the vegetarian breakfast the egg was undercooked, the beans were hard, the toast was cold and chewy, the tomatoes were tinned and not grilled like stated and the hash browns were too hard to eat.

I had the light bite breakfast. The bacon was frazzled, the sausage was mostly bread and spice and the " toast " wasn't. It was warmed bread with a smear of butter in the middle of each piece. Never again !!1

What a hidden gem. Rarely visit Coventry but came across this lovely cafe this morning. Menu was very good and although we only had a snack it was very tasty, service was excellent and reasonably priced as well. Highly recommend a visit, we will definitely be coming back.

Sat outside and had an Americano. Took ages to come but tasted ok. Pleasant young server. Went in to pay and was surprised to be told it was £3.25! When I asked if that was correct the rude sour faced woman on the till ranted that I should have checked the menu. I would have done, had there been one on the table. There wasn’t. And I definitely would have gone elsewhere ( better and cheaper at Costa). It seems that they want you to pay in cash. I wonder why…….Hmmmm! Ed.

We have visited Sovrano Caffe on many occasions over the last 2 years and wouldn't go anywhere else! The food is delicious; the portions are fantastic; the price is very reasonable; and the staff are so lovely. Our daughter has now finished University and so is moving out of Coventry so we are really sad! But we will be back for the occasional visit - just for this wonderful Cafe!!

What a gem. Found by accident selling through shopping mall. Excellent food and wine at very reasonable prices. We had omelette and crepe served with a proper side salad. Would certainly recommend 😊

Always dirty tables and floor,needs a really good clean down.several times this is the case. Slow service. Food and prices ok but hygiene a big put off.

Very good food and good environment staff are friendly. And they let you have stuff off your food for etc chips or something just ask and they usually remove the thing you want off

We came here during a shopping trip for lunch, the service was shocking, the staff wander round with not a clue, got our order wrong, and another couple had there order lost and eventually left.

Dissapointed today usually like this place. Today we was served by a very rude waiter. He had to ask us what we wanted 4 times as he wasn't paying attention. After over 30 mins waiting for 2 drinks I went to ask where they were. He was sent back over to re take our order as he hadn't even put it through... he was equally as rude so we ended up walking out as I can't be doing with the attitude.

I think ‘mediocre’ is the same in Italian as English. Everything we ate was not too bad, but not actually good. It also all seemed quite English, like using garlic bread slices for bruschetta and topping pasta with sauce rather than mix it in.

We found this cafe whilst bringing granddaughter to sit exams. Have come back 4 times and had full English breakfast and coffee. Excellent food, value and service. Would highly recommend and can’t understand bad reviews.

Ordered coffee with French baguette, until French baguette arrived my coffee was cold. The staff , even doesn’t apologise , was very rude and speaking with raised voice.

I have been going to this excellent coffee shop for 3 years , great atmosphere, very friendly staff and lovely coffee. Would highly recommend, good food menu as well at reasonable prices.

So pleased to have discovered this excellent independent Cafe so close to the Belgrade theatre. This was so much nicer than eating at one of the chains round the corner and certainly less expensive. We had 2 tasty pizzas and a half bottle of wine...

I popped in here while doing some last minute Xmas shopping. The coffee was really nice, accompanied by a free mince pie. The breakfast was delicious. I had the mega breakfast. Reasonably priced, but the food was of a high standard, cooked fresh and arrived quickly and very hot!Well worth a visit.

Stumbled upon this cafe one rainy afternoon and it suited us down to the ground. Food was genuine and tasty- staff were friendly and atmosphere congenial- you felt welcome! Definitely a hidden gem!

I come here all the time with my family and we all enjoy it. The hot chocolate is made with hot milk and Nutella chocolate at the bottom for you to stir in yourself!!!

Came here for lunch with friends. Took 40 minutes for our order to be taken (25 minutes in I went to the counter to order only to be told that they'd send someone over, which took another 15 mins). All the staff (apart from the manager/owner lady) looked poorly trained in customer service and terrified of doing anything in front of her in case it was wrong.

Visited for a working lunch, they have a lovely selection of drinks and the food menu good. We ate panini’s which were tasty and huge! Reasonably priced and quick service. It was constantly busy with customers coming and going and a nice atmosphere.

First time we visited since my last review 2018. Disappointed to see there has been no improvement. It's still difficult to get a waitress to acknowledge you, the service is extremely slow & the annoying woman is still holding court at her table in the corner. Won't go back.

Called in here for a quick coffee i wanted a vanilla latte but was told they don’t have syrups which is unheard of in coffee shops my partner wanted skinny latte but was also told they don’t do skimmed milk only full fat you can only have one size aswell small. I then tried to pay the waitress at the table as we were outside was then told they can only take cash inside will probably give this establishment a wide berth in future.

After struggling to find a restaurant which I could reserve for a pre-show meal I stumbled on this cafe with great reviews. I called them to reserve a place and warned my friends that it was just a small cafe so not to expect to much.

I had'nt seen this cafe before and decided to give it ago for a quick business coffee with a client today. There was closed off outdoor seating and a cosy area inside which was nearly full. I didn't see anybody eating though only drinks. ( Although the food in the reviews looks good) The service of the coffee was little slow with 4 staff behind the counter and not much activity going on behind there. I was a little pushed for time and and although it was table service I was told i couldn't pay straight away and would have to go to the bar to settle up. Might be good for a more leisurely drink or lunch , but not sure about a restrictive lunch break.

We have visited this restaurant a number of times and have never been disappointed. Upstairs has a little more atmosphere. The service can be slow on occasions but the staff are always friendly and accommodating. The pizza's are excellent value for money and tasty. The meatballs very good value for money as are the wraps etc. We will keep going back .

Popped in for a ciabatta and coffee. Service was quite slow and a bit ‘cold’. Waited 20 minutes for the toasted sandwiches when not at all busy and apparently lots of staff. Quality of food and coffee were good though.

I visited today for breakfast with my wife and daughter service was slow had to wait 10 mins before someone took our order then another 10 mins for our drinks breakfast was very poor I never had such a bad sausage for breakfast it was just mush very cheap quality for the price I will never go back again or recommend to any of my friends or family very disappointed as it looks like a nice place.

I hadn't been in for a while (my last review June 17) and was pleased to see an improvement in the service. You no longer have to wait for ages to be served but the woman who sits in the corner & tries to engage everyone in conversation is still there. Sit near her at your own risk!! That said the coffee is delicious, well done to all the staff.

I really enjoy Sovrano Cafe. The staff is really friendly and the service (the time for them to bring my food) is unexpectedly fast. Also, the atmosphere is pleasant (if they didn't put on repeat a melody, or if they don't play loud music) and if it's not the rush hour. But my problem is with their food. Just sometimes. This is why I keep coming back to this restaurant, hoping to get the best food I pay for. The POS machine is a pain, but I know now that I have to withdraw some cash before going there.

We wanted a coffee and happened across this cafe/ restaurant and decided to go in as it looked interesting from the outside. It was full of interesting pictures and bits and bobs and had an upstairs so we could look onto the high street.

I ve been there twice for coffee and breakfast and pizza. The coffee is good for english standards, the food nothing special. The pizza was very oily and the crepe very small. But that is not the problem, the problem is the service. There are many girls who dont really know how to treat the costumers, most of them look very unexperienced which is okay but there are a few who are rude as well. Both times that i went in a period of six monthes, the pos was broken so i had to pay by cash. The second time we were three friends and wanted to pay seperately, the girl said that this is impossible, and even if we did the calculations and had the money she said that she cannot take it seperately and she was very rude, we almost fight. They dont have pos and they dont have any intention to make the payment easier. I ll never go there, even if the atmosphere of the place is not that bad for Coventry.

We come every week with my family, food fresh and delicious more most better than Italian restaurant, me and my family enjoyed the food the service was very quick, and price was very good, highly recommended

We had a family meal here and it was really good. The food is freshly prepared and reasonably priced. The staff are really friendly and gave us really great advice for a fussy child. Our son regularly visits here with his friends for a good quality meal that doesn’t break the bank. Highly recommend

Was seated by an unfriendly waitress who looked like she couldn’t be bothered to be there. Our order was taken quite swiftly by a waiter who then brought us our drinks, we waited for 45/50 minutes for our food and then another waitress asked if we’d like anything else. We told her that we hadn’t even had our order yet, the original waiter returned to our table to say that he’d forgotten our food. (So our food arrived 15 mins later.) We were offered a free drink each as compensation. I asked the waitress who seated us if we still had to pay for the food as been as we’d been kept so long, and she said she’d find out - she did not return. We went to the till to speak to the manager and she was the most unbothered person I have ever met, completely unprofessional! We still had to pay for the food and original drinks, will not be going back. Get some staff who want to be there and manager who knows what real customer service is!

Yo vengo aquí cada día después del trabajo para tomar un café de ape y a veces un y en general me gusta estar allí una hora o dos y recomiendo encarecidamente este café.

Mi esposa y yo necesitábamos un aperitivo por la noche y no haber estado en Coventry durante un rato (y no querer ir al Cosmo) entramos en el recinto y encontramos este café. Nos fuimos arriba y encontramos un asiento junto a la ventana, mirando el balcón sucio. La mesa no estaba limpio, pero no demasiado malo para sentarse. Una señora llegó a tomar nuestro pedido y volvimos relativamente pronto con nuestra comida. La comida (pollo burger para mí y para mi esposa, hamburguesa vegetal) era sosa, pero creo que venía con las bebidas que me regarlo! También arriba olía, lo que sin duda desagradable (nos dimos cuenta de que el olor después de que habíamos pedido, es por eso que nos quedamos.

He revisado este lugar antes y siempre valorado altamente sin embargo las cosas han cambiado para peor.

Bom restaurante, comida muito boa, atendimento espetacular, e um bom preço pelo que é servido. Aconselho experimentar.

Lo que un pequeño café en el centro de Coventry. Visité aquí para un almuerzo ligero con mi hija después de una recomendación. Y me alegro tanto de haberlo hecho. Encontramos una mesa en la esquina de arriba, al lado de la ventana. Había una estantería junto a nosotros lleno de todo tipo de interesantes libros y recuerdos. De hecho, toda la cafetería estaba decorado con una mezcla ecléctica de país italiano y estilo contemporáneo.

We enjoyed our visit to Sovano today. Funny, we are frequent visitors to Coventry and have only walked past. Today we decided to try it out and were pleased we did. We both enjoyed excellent coffee and breakfasts. The vegetarian breakfast was delicious and so was the toast. Nicely served and service was good. The decor was also very pleasant. Overall good value for good food.

I regularly visit Sovrano with friends for coffee or something to eat. It's a very cosmopolitan place with an interesting tasty menu. The staff are friendly and the service is very good. You never feel pressurised to hurry and the whole experience is relaxing. Sovrano' serve amazing mocha and everything is value for money.

We decided to visit the Sovrano on a recent visit to Coventry. It was very busy both inside and outside. In the first 10 minutes of being downstairs we were asked by 5 waiters if we were being served. As the time went on the loud music spoiled any good we felt and the worst thing was that as people were smoking at the front of the caffe, the smoke was coming inside and when we left I had a strong taste of smoke in my throat. First visit...but not again!!

Visited today with my friend, my 4th visit but first time for my friend. We were not greeted by any of the staff and I had to approach them to ask if there was a table available upstairs. Ordered a drink and panini each, drinks were bought, my beer had plastic drinking straw sticking out of it for some reason. We had been waiting over 40 minutes and still not had our food, so I asked one of the waiters who told me quite sternly that they only had one cook and would have to wait our turn. It was another 15 minutes before our food arrived. I don't know why it takes almost an hour to cook a couple of paninis, and the cafe was not very busy. Well it wasn't worth the wait, my friend's grilled vegetable panini had a few slices of mushroom, and a couple of pieces of green pepper on it, and was subsequently not eaten.We went to pay, and once again the card payment machine was "not working." Been broken now since about March. I commented about our extremely long wait, and the quality of the food, but was told "we only have one cook." Did not get an apology or discount of any kind. I certainly will not be going back here again, to put up with rude staff and poor quality food.

We are an elderly couple in our 60's. Around 2.05pm on 21st July 2017, we entered the establishment. One person was at the service counter - he seemed to be paying a bill. He then left. We then stood at counter for about 3 minutes - staff seemingly unable or unwilling to make eye contact. We had become invisible it seemed. As we turned to walk away, we were finally asked what we wanted. "A tea and a latte to take away please". "To take away ?" "Yes" "That will take 5 minutes" "Goodbye then" - Left in disgust.

We visited this café a few months ago for a coffee, had a look at the menu and ordered some food as well.We were taken by a surprise to see how delicious the food looked and tasted. The Bruschetta, pizza and pasta are out of the world! Our vegetarian Pizza had a very different varieties of vegetables and very delicious...Bruschetta was just too good to stop at one serving!Prices are reasonable too...The décor is very beautiful too.. very cosy...If you get a chance, go upstairs and sit by the window.. It's very good to watch the hustle bustle of the town from a cosy window...We have been to this café quite a few times now and will be definitely coming back...

I have eaten here at lunch time on several occasions. On the last occasion food was very slow to arrive - 40 mins for two paninis but we gave it another chance this week. Again, we found service slow and the staff seem to be puzzled when you order items from the menu and you have to clarify your order several times. Even then it is a lottery as to whether the correct meal arrives to your table. When the food does arrive however it is surprisingly good. I had the burger meal deal which is excellent value. The burgers are cheap but tasty and I had lots of fries. My friend choose the chicken salad which was very large and she enjoyed it. One issue we had was that despite the burger meal coming with a free soft drink, I was told that I could not have the free soft drink as I had already ordered a drink from the other waitress......This made no sense but the staff acted as if i was mad when I said I have already ordered the drink can you add my burger the order. A waiter turned up about ten minutes letter and gave me a glass bottle of diet coke with the lid still on ad told me to take it with me! I was charged for the other bottle.Also, bring cash with you as their card machine is always out or order when we go there.

I regularly go here for coffee but getting the attention of the female staff is bad. Even when they have seen you they don't rush to take your order & I sometimes have to resort to standing up & calling them over. I can understand this during busy times but there is no excuse when it is quiet. Today one of the waitresses made eye contact but continued her conversation before making her way over to take my order ,which she then got wrong. When I pointed out her mistake she did not attempt to put it right & I had to call over one of the waiters. The male staff are on the ball but they are not always there. Get your act together Sovrano management or this customer will go elsewhere.

Came into town and found this place didn't even know it was here wow what ICan I say had a cappuccino Italian coffee very hot and great taste also ham goats cheese with sweet online marmalade great taste will be using this place next time in town Well run clean and very hard working staff

We came here when it first opened a few years and were not impressed, but decided today to give it another go. It wasn't busy at all but the service was slow. My mother told the waitress what she wanted and the waitress seemed confused and asked if she wanted a pizza. My mother told told her twice and made it very clear by pointing on the menu that we wanted two paninis and still a pizza came to the table instead of what we had ordered. My panini arrived and my mother was left waiting for over 20 minutes for her food. The staff then came to the table with more food we hadn't ordered. Finally her correct food arrived and it was very mediocre. The mushrooms appeared tinned and the salad was not so much a salad but more some lettuce with a slice of cucumber. They were also served on metal trays as opposed to plates and they were covered in water marks. As we were paying we noticed a shelf full of pre made Italian bolognese sauce and white sauce in jars which in an Italian cafe is not very appealing. Would not recommend.

Menu not very interesting. Ordered panini that was dry snd was supposed to come with salad that turned out to be a small piece of dank lettuce. Service slow with surly staff. You have to go to counter to pay although they don't tell you this. Complained to no avail. However the rude waitress should perhaps consider she's not the only one who can speak Italian!! Won't be going back.

We use this place quite often, taking the kids with us. The service there is very good and the prices are reasonable, good value for money. The food is well presented, cooked and good portion sizes. Overall a very good place to eat, but be warned, it does get very busy during office lunch hours, but that just shows how good it is.

Never ever ever ever ever ever ever go inside, cheap, dirty, unhealthy horrible place with sticky tables and old sugar jars. Food and hygiene should come down and close them
