Bella Italia - Coventry in Coventry

Walked in and knew this was the spot, amazing waiters and waitresses. Atmosphere is nice and calm. Best dining for teens too. Lovely location right near the fountain square and you could use the student discount here. Would recommend. Affordable in comparison to other restaurants in the city centre plus online you can find discounts for food and drink.

I had high hopes for this place but was left disappointed. I visited on a Saturday afternoon when it wasn’t busy. The greetings from the staff felt insincere and rushed. We had to wait a while just to place our order, which was frustrating given how quiet it was. The worst part was when my orange juice arrived with lipstick on the glass. When I pointed it out, the staff didn’t even apologize, just replaced the glass. It made the experience uncomfortable, and I couldn’t enjoy the meal after that. Overall, the lack of hygiene and poor service really affected my experience.

It was quick work lunch for 3 of us . Promptly served by Gabi, and the manager JO was suggesting our dishes based on our expectation. It’s a Beautiful restaurant and we will definitely be back. Thanks guys 😊😊

Not a friendly welcome unfortunately. A blank stare from the man on the door managed to walk back out. Food very average. Waiter who served table friendly. Took almost half hour for bill after asking making us late. Would return maybe.

Family meal - as usual, the welcome and service from Andrew and staff was second to none! Food was delicious and pricing very reasonable. Ages from 8 to 68 were catered for and options and food portions were appropriate. Another very pleasant visit

Last Friday we went to Bella Italia in Coventry. The pulled beef pizza was one of a kind. My kids loved the gamberoni and Lasagna. The sharing starter was superb. We didn’t realize what we ordered was filling as the portions are generous. We enjoyed our dining experience there. We sat on a table overlooking the fountain outside and it was a relaxing and nice view just looking at the people sitting on the benches or strolling around.

I visited Coventry branch today, have ordered cappuccino and chocolate brownies with ice-cream. The waiter came to me after 2 hours asking me to leave as they wanted to close - while it wasn’t the closing time - then told me if I want to come next time to order coffee and dessert, I shouldn’t stay more than an hour. He justified that telling me that we pay electricity and gas and you spend 2-3 hours with coffee and dessert only with no food. I told him that I am not hungry why would you want me to eat !! I don’t know why they treated me like that, I have payed £10.50 for my coffee and dessert which is more than the average of any other place for coffee and dessert. Restaurant was empty with no customers at all at that time. I am expecting that any place shouldn’t treat customers like that. I am not responsible for their income and bills if you don’t have enough customers. Also I am paying for the service and they shouldn’t telling me that. Your bills and income aren’t my issue. If I come to you that means I am a customer who pays for a service. If you were busy you should inform us before we order for how long should we stay. If you didn’t mention anything, so I won’t be aware of that. Didn’t like this attitude at all.

When you order online the website never works properly and when you ring them you get through to a terrible AI service. After struggling with AI you finally get through to the restaurant but no one ever picks up the phone I mean never, trust me I have tried loads to get through to them, it’s shocking.

This is one of our favorite restaurants. The food is amazing and the service is always impeccable especially when our waitress is Gabby. She is very sweet and accommodating and goes beyond and above to serve us

The food is an absolute disgrace and an insult to Italians. Their own staff admit that the food is disgusting but they have to do what head office tell them. £50 for a reheated frozen lasagne and a breaded chicken scallop with the most horrific spaghetti I have ever seen. Shame on you Bella Italia

I ordered spaghetti Bolognaise from Bella Italia and it tasted awful. Supermarket bolognaise tastes better for £2. This cost me £15 almost for two. There was hardly any bolognaise sauce in it either, it was mostly spaghetti.

Chose this restaurant for a simple bite to eat and were pleasantly surprised. The bruschetta wasn't toasted, which would have improved it. The main course were really tasty (we had Gamborini and ravioli in red wine sauce). Italian beer. Desserts were tiramisu and lemon cheesecake - very tasty. The service was quick and friendly. We'll definitely return.

We visited on a Monday around 7:30pm, wasn’t too busy but would still recommend you book in advance. The menu has a lot of options, especially for those who are vegetarian/vegan/gluten free. On certain foods they have the option to make them vegan, like the spaghetti and meatballs which we ordered and it was delicious. We enjoyed everything we ordered and will definitely visit again. They also have a QR table for you to pay for the bill , so easy to split between people and don’t have to wait for the server if it’s busy.

Now I have never been a fan of bella italia. For no other reason but the prices. I received a voucher from a friend for a bit of work done there. The atmosphere was nice and the server for us was very good. Speedy, funny and kept us in a good mood all night. Couldn't fault the place. Close to the city centre and a stones throw from parking. We all had the main course, 4 of us had a desert and the 3 girls had a coke. £150. And I'm sorry, but although we very much enjoyed it, I could have had meals for 2 Chinese 4 times for that......... delivered. I you don't mind spending that kind of money, then this restaurant is a great night out.

The quality of some of the pasta dishes have really gone down here. I used to rely on Bella Italia as being the only restaurant where I'd never had a bad meal. Those days are sadly, over. The pasta has been changed, and the sauce is mostly watery, and void of flavour nowadays. I'm assuming this is down to your cost of everything going up, so meals are made cheaper now. But it was just disappointing. We had the Pollo Fungi and the Cacciatore. Both were sent back for the above reasons I explained. The only reason this visit was saved was due to the fabulous service of Eliana and the replacement duck pasta in plum sauce (The Marco Polo) which was fantastic. I couldn't finish it, but I wanted to. It was delicious.

Came here for lunch whilst in the city shopping. We hadn’t booked, but despite being quite busy they were able to squeeze up in. Fantastic service, great atmosphere, music was good it didn’t feel too loud. Amazing variety on the menu, my friend with me is celiac and there was plenty of choice for her. Placed order for 2 bolonese, beef, however, on opening the package, I had literally no beef in both orders just beef sauce with spagetti. I am so disappointed with the low life scum bag who prepared the food. Didn't expect this from such a large chain restaurant, it's disgusting and that chef or person who prepared the food should literally be kicked out from that place. This is going in the bin. Hope the owner if he gives a care of his place, addresses this! I deserve to be compensated!

Over the years I've come to this Bella Italia, and I must say that the workers and managers here have always been professional and helpful. More so during Covid, I went on the 23rd May for bottomless brunch, and our glasses of prosecco were not left empty! The food was good, although the ci bread was not fresh, rather stale in fact, but I was very hungry! The staff were helpful and were able to place table apart from each other, very respectful of social distancing. All in all, a great meal and a great time!

Nice atmosphere, clean and comfortable. Food was hot and really nice and the waiter was friendly enough. This was my first time eating there but I will definitely be back!

Andrew is great as always with the staff in the Coventry branch We have a few allergies like gluten-free, and they always make sure there’s no problems. We also have a disabled son who has autism and they go out their way to make sure we have a great experience which is not always the way in other restaurants and this makes it great experience for us and our family is going out for a meal Quite hard task for us, but Andrew and all the staff at Bella Italia in Coventry always make it great for us so we just like to say a massive thank you

Andrew's wonderful service made our visit truly memorable. To top it off, he surprised us with a complimentary drink to celebrate Father's Day, which was a delightful and unexpected touch. We'll definitely be returning soon!

I do realise that this is a chain restaurant, and very casual, but I would have expected more from their pizza, which I felt was very much average, which, it pains me to say, reminded me more of a frozen pizza bought from the supermarket, than of a freshly baked pizza in an Italian eatery. The only saving grace was the Tiramisu I had for dessert, which I really liked. But it wasn't quite enough to make the whole experience a satisfactory one. Service was ok, though not great. Again, average, I guess. We had chosen the restaurant for a pre-show dinner because of its proximity to the Belgrade Theatre, which may have been a mistake.

Just come home from a lovely evening meal at Bella Italia by the Belgrade. Everything was first class and Andrew looked after us and nothing was too much trouble for him. Definitely will go back and they have some fabulous offers on too. Thank you Andrew for your kindness xxx

Really friendly place - have a son who is dairy free and the gentleman at lunch time (andrew) today was fab. Got his ice cream all ready for him - made sure he had everything he needed and didn’t feel left out.

Fantastic restaurant, amazing food and brilliant staff who accommodated us at short notice when our original restaurant reservation for that evening let us down. Highly recommend and will be returning, unfortunately didn't catch our servers name which is a shame as he was fantastic.

There should be even an italian playlist but unfortunately it is not. Pizza was very good as on English standarts but pasta should be a bit more al dente, it tastes like already cooked and just added to the sauce Overal good place for a date but not for an Italian feelings

The staff were so nice especially Andrew and friendly that it made me want to stay there all the time, and the food was exquisite and made me feel like i was a king having a banquet in a beautiful castle. The scenery was amazing, they always deliver at any time of year - George, Molly, Alison, Tim, and Buddy our dog. (We didn’t take Buddy with us of course but that is what he would have said if he could have gone.)

We had such a lovely evening! There are loads of veggie options available which is great, and the cocktails were genuinely so nice. Really well priced too. Would really recommend for a bite when you’re in the area. Andrew was particularly nice, very smiley and friendly, made us feel very welcome.

Warm greeting by staff accommodated with a window seat on arrival. Food arrived promptly we ordered half a pizza each with salad delicious and surprisingly filling. Good value for money as we received a voucher for free main course after booking a table.

Amazing place, got gift cards to pay for the meal i had with my gf, but its safe to say that i'll be coming back, the pizza was sweet AND savoury and the carbonara sauce was very creamy, along with the mozzarella sticks with sweet chilli sauce.

Nice meal and reasonably priced

The food wasn't nice, whether it was Italian or not. Ordered a carbonara (£14+) and beef red wine tortellini (£16+) but both were tasteless and lacking in ingredients. They tasted how they looked. The tortellini tasted like tesco instant food and the carbonara looked... beige. Zizzi has better food even if it's pricier. Service was good though, as we were served by a friendly and polite staff. It was almost empty on a Sunday afternoon and the interior looked nice.

Came for lunch, luckily we had booked a table. Children's meals has 2 sizes. Smaller size has 3 chicken pieces. Adult meals were a good size, ribs especially tender and decent meat on them. Dessert was rather small, cheesecake tiny slice for Children's ice-cream comes with 5 offers of toppings, can choose 2. Waitress was lovely, very attentive. Food came quickly, would recommend as it has vastly improved since our last visit.

The food is outrageously overpriced considering 1: this is Coventry not London or Italy, 2: its not fresh, hand made pasta but rather a franchise full of pre made and pre sent ingredients from head offices and 3: the overall customer service is shocking, the female manager here spends more times putting up Christmas lights than taking orders or delegating staff. The food is below average and generally an insult to authentic Italian food. This is not the fault of the staff working in the franchise but rather Bella Italia itself. It is only a matter of time before they close. Over £16 for a pasta dish is a joke, in comparison its not over £7 for a hand made, authentic dish in many places in Italy. This place is only passable when they have offers in place of 50% off. You're much better off making or buying your own pasta and watching YouTube chefs make a dish and recreating it. Shame on you for smearing the name of Italian cuisine.

We took a pre booked, pre ordered party of seventy. They were incredibly well organised and prompt with the service. My pasta was too al dente but everything else was fantastic.

All these years and never been to Bella-Italia, anywhere. And I must say I would definitely go back. The service was very good and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The food was amazing. For starters we had the Nach-iolis (Large), which at first the thought of deep fried pasta seemed a bit bizarre but actually tasted incredible and I highly recommend trying. Then the Chicken Milanese with sweet potato fries which I couldn't fault Then we over indulged on a dessert of chocolate brownie and the cookie dough both warm and very moist. Excellent experience!

Each payday I treat myself to dinner in a restaurant. This time I went to Bella Italia Coventry and was warmly welcomed by Eliana, a lovely, bright, attentive waitress. I was lead to my choices by her recommendations and was not disappointed! The food choices were varied and the quality very good. If you're in Coventry looking for a place to eat be it on your own, a date or family dinner - I recommend this lovely restaurant.

I visited Bella Italia for lunch with my two children 8 and 10. We had not pre-booked but were greeted by a friendly member of staff and shown to our seats. Ordering was really relaxed and children's menus and activity sheets were brought out. We had a gift card to pay with and that was no trouble for the staff to manage. However visiting on a Thursday when kids eat free, I was disappointed that I wasn't able to claim a free meal for them as I had ordered from the set menu. If this had been told to me, I would have changed my order. It doesn't state anywhere that it had to be from the main menu. Maybe it should have been on me to check, but I definitely feel that it should be clear there are limitations to the children meals. However the food was great, arrived in great time and the service was great. It was a really friendly and relaxed atmosphere, and we are planning to go back again.

used bella atalia in bham, stratford upon avon and coventry usually very expensive for the size of meal but very nice, however this is the worst of them I've been too, a piddly amount of PASTA with a few prawns on for £16! and was very bland, ill not be fooled again.

We had a lovely dinner here we didn't expect it to be much more than the usual Italian cuisine but we're pleasantly surprised how much we liked it. The food was good, especially the pizzas. Pepperoni pizza was with the supposed double pepporoni, which seems a tad stingy. Staff were great, and service was around 2 hours for the 3 courses off the set menu.

Bella Italia £5 pasta promo this January has been amazing 👏 I've really enjoyed going to Bella Italia this month of January for the promo. I love their affordable food. We were a group of 4 that went for dinner and we spent about £75. We had starters, pasta, drinks & dessert. It was definitely value for money & the hosts were very nice to us. Also, our foods were served promptly.

Unfortunately this place is getting very expensive. The 2 course menu has risen in price to 17.95 pp when it used to be £12.95 a cpl years ago , but it had risen since the last time we visited a cpl months ago from £ 15.95 to £17.95. They had changed the type if pasta I had from Tagliatelle to some sort of twist pasta , but it tasted like " pasta alphabet " ! So was not impressed. I also fund a charge if £2 for extra garlic very extortionate. My wife's bolognese was OK. We used to visit at least once a month but , the continued price increases make it an expensive meal out.
