Lovely chips and lovely girls always polite and helpful come in most Wednesdays for a lunch time special. Best chips ever made!

I have always been going to the Fish and chips shop in Allesley Park for quite a long time. The staff have always look after me. Everytime I goes I tell them how many Fish I want and they cooked me fresh ones which I don't mind waiting. I goes most Saturdays . The staffs are very friendly and I will tell peoples that they are the best Fish and chips takeaway in Coventry

Having just finished my cod and chips, I felt a review was very worthy...amazing, my go to is large kebab meat and chips with sweet chilli sauce, but occasionally I mix it up. The food is always cooked well, tasty and hot. Service is always with a smile and a "how are you keeping ", from any of the staff, always being so friendly, polite and professional. I work in hospitality, so I know it's hard being nice to people all of the time, especially some people, so hats off to you all! I have been using this chip shop, on average once a week, since 2000, when I moved to around the corner from it and I have never had a reason to complain ever! Keep up the great work all, and I will see you again very soon. Thank you.

Right, listen up. You know when you walk into a place, and it just feels right? That’s this chip shop. No nonsense, no frills—just proper, golden, crispy-on-the-outside, fluffy-on-the-inside chips, and fish that’s fresher than a prince’s alibi. Jess, behind the counter, runs the show like a pro—friendly, efficient, and with the kind of service that makes you feel like a regular even if you’ve only been twice. It’s the sort of place where you take a bite and immediately wonder why you’d ever go anywhere else. Now, as for that grumpy old geezer who left a bad review—what’s his game? Miserable sod probably complains when the sun’s out for being too bright. Anyone having a moan about this place is either confused, clueless, or just doesn’t deserve good food. I have been going to the chip shop for many years has I have lived in the area for over 25 years the chip shop has gone downhill in the last few years the quality of the food has deteriorated what I've noticed lately is the food is lukewarm it's never quite hot enough and it is overpriced especially the fish and especially the mini fish which is a total rip off unfortunately on Friday where they do their most custom has the chip shop is quite full of people the every time I drive past their through the week it is quite empty I used to go to the chip shop regularly on Friday my order was always mini fish and cone of chips as I am not a big eater on a number of occasions I was overcharged giving the wrong change as I always like to pay cash two small businesses so they don't have to pay a surcharge bit lately I've been mindful of the cost of things so when the young lady charged me £10 for a cone of chips and a mini fish I had to hesitate and say to her £9 not £10 where she was quite rude said no that is the price I am not in the Habit of trying to swindle a small business out of a pound I am a working man I'm not on the breadline at the moment thank God but it is the principal I needed to stick to so as I walked away I thought no I shall go back and argue the point that it is £9 for a cone of chips and mini fish she tried to ignore me very rude as if I was some kind of pest I'm a 65 year old working man I am I am not in the Habit of arguing with people over a pound then she said I ordered mini fish and chips where has I said to her no I didn't I quite clearly said to you mini fish and a cone of chips she just ignore this I'll say again very rude the girl is pregnant but that does not give her rights to be arrogant towards me I've told her oh just forget about it I shall never use this chip shop again as I was leaving the shop she kept saying yeah yeah whatever that's supposed to mean as I say I shall never visit this chip shop again there are plenty of a chip shops in the area and as I said the food is always lukewarm anyway which is not very enjoyable.

Far too expensive for too little. Large chips size of kids , over salted and under portioned. Wouldn’t recommend

Horrific. Chips so salty they were inedible. Portion ridiculously small. Paid £5+ for a large chips, got barely a regular. Chips & curry sauce, a table spoon of sauce and only half filled the tray. AWFUL

To be fair, fish was a good size but everything was lukewarm even the curry sauce. That's twice now, won't be a third time.

Just finished eating our Gluten free fish and chips, beautiful hot fresh fish, that was cooked to perfection, batter was so lovely aswell. Haven't had such lovely fish and chips in a long time, thank you, will definitely be a regular buy

So glad my wife spotted article on Coventry Live. I'm Coeliac, and haven't had chip shop fish and chips for over a year. Top quality Cod and great batter, loads of lovely chips, friendly staff. Wife and son said their Gluten kebab and chips were excellent as well. One complaint, Website doesn't mention Gluten Free Mondays ? Coeliacs need to know !!! Well done guys, very happy.

Food is usually very good, but recently they have been burning the fish cake. Chips are good as expected and I have been told the kebabs are excellent.

Very friendly staff and always freshly prepared food. Very nice food and good portions. With Gluten free options available on Mondays. Good opening hours and meal deals available. Just enough choice to keep most people satisfied.

As a single women In her 40’s who recently got divorced, it has been a while since I have visited a chip shop, and wow am I glad it was this one!! The staff are absolutely brilliant and speedy and if there was a slight delay, I could hear them apologising to customers! THE FOOD! The best I have ever tried! You can tell they keep on top of freshly cooked food and never let anything sit for hours like a lot of places, have recommend them to my mum in her 90’s!

Food is incredible! Always cooked fresh - lunch time deals for £4 & great customer service staff are very friendly - would highly recommend!

Every time I give this place the benefit of the doubt I instantly regret it. COOK YOUR DONNER MEAT PROPERLY! IT SHOULD CHANGE COLOR! Now I'm at home cooking your donner meat for my dinner.

Fish is probably one of the best here. Apart from that it is another takeaway. I tried halloumi burger and it was pretty ordinary. Plenty of parking on site. Staff does what they need to do.

Lovely chips! But it has got so expensive ! Daughter went in for mini fish and chips-I thought she had been charged incorrectly ! 9.20 ! No kids meal offered or tray meal -when I queried they just said they’d recently had a price increase …. Mini fish and chips Chip batch Peas And a can all 15.00 -I was stunned ! Far more expensive than any other chip shop . If they had asked and offered her kids meal it would have been 4.50 but the lady. Didn’t think to ask …and a tray of chips has to be requested , just be sure and clear what you are asking for . Shame I won’t use them again as it’s sea side prices …:

Food hit and miss. Really expensive and small portions. Staff lften forget to put sauces on the food. Most staff OK, one has permanent resting face. Shame as it's conveniently local to me and allows card payment. However been here several times now to give it a fair shot and just not up to standard.

If I could give this place a Michelin star I would. I popped in over the weekend and in all honesty, I wasn't really expecting much. It's not really one of those local legends you hear stories of, but boy was I surprised. I went for my usual order of cod and chips, with a side of curry sauce. The cod was as fresh as the cold wintery Saturday morning and the curry sauce tasted like it had been made by a chap called Rajeev from Mumbai. The chips were perfectly cooked throughout and the portions, much like my wayward belly, extremely healthy. What topped it off was the service, the young lady serving ( her name evades my memory but might have been Lylia) was polite and well mannered and really topped off what was already a great experience. Great work guys.

Decent chippy and the staff are always nice and polite too. Been going here for years whenever in the area and never had any issues with the food, pricing or service.

The lunchtime specials are great value for money, but it can get busy so be prepared to wait.

Fantastic food and service. Only criticism is it's not open long enough and not on just eat.

Really disappointing considering the reviews, ordered cod and chips, fish came with skin on and was extremely thin, the meat was grey, chips old and overcooked. Had to wait for my order, once ready it was already bagged up with salt and vinegar already applied - not great if you don’t want salt! Wouldn’t return here, maybe it was an off day but I’d rather spend my money elsewhere.

Usually good quality food, albeit expensive. Tonight's cod at £7.80 was a great disappointment. It was a small size (I nearly mentioned it to the server but didn't) and inside the batter was a small fish and a lot of empty space. Will use other places from now on.

Only ordered two items and one of them was wrong (even though I was asked to repeat my order after the first item was packed). They also have a minimum spend for using card even though that’s against Visa and Mastercard terms and conditions.

Staff and the owners are great. They’ve unfortunately lost my repeat custom in recent years due to shrinking portions, quality and unrealistic price increases comparative with other shops in the area. I gave them another try but sadly the same experience. A shame as the service etc is generally spot-on.

Must be quite popular- quite a few was queuing for opening time at noon. Only a 3 star rating as I was served by someone on their first shift (you could tell !) so the expected customer service failed my expectations.

Fabulous food, such a variety and great service. Would like to see mushy pea fritters on the menu though :))

We arrived about 5.30pm there was a few people in the queue but we didn't have to wait long to be served. The two young ladies behind the counter were extremely efficient and very polite and both had a lovely smile. We had fish and chips twice and curry sauce. I have to admit that the food was awful the chips were soggy and cold they actually looked like they were left over from lunch time and just re-cooked, the fish batter wasn't crunchy it was soggy too but the fish inside was OK. I've always used Allesley fish shop had the same experience a few times now so it becoming a bit of a let down. At one time I would get them on the way home from work and take them home to the other side of town because they were the best in town. I think its time I changed. Sorry 😞 but we'll done to the staff.

Can't complain about this chippy. The service is good, food is nice, portion sizes are good. All round very happy.

I have never had a bad meal from here. I am a nurse and generally use this chip shop for my mum and I once weekly. The food is always fresh and tasty and the girls and male frier are very nice and friendly. Premises are immaculate. Never smell dirty fat like a lot of chip shops. Would give them 10/10 and definitely recommend. Thank you.

I Love the Midday Special ; Fish, Chips, Sausage and Curry sauce (£2.50) Good sized portion, with a slice or two of buttered bread, from home, (to make Chip Butty lol).... A good filling meal.
