Wow the people here are so delightful. We were lucky to find this cafe amongst many others that did not look as inviting. The toasted sandwiches were superb, the rolls equally delicious but best of all were the home made cakes. Bonus- excellent coffee served in beautiful cups and mugs. Wonderful cafe.

We visited Veeno today for lunch. We had the best meal and we’ll certainly be back. I can’t believe we haven’t discovered this gem before. We had garlic bread and pizza, both of which were the best we’ve ever tasted. They came with olive oil and balsamic dip which was gorgeous. They also gave us some truffle oil to dip the pizza crusts in which was soooo good and different. They had a huge selection of wines and their house red was delicious. I had to have a second glass 😋. Can’t wait to return to try more of their menu. Thank you for a fanatic relaxing lunch x

The taste and value of the food was first class. The only issue we have is the price of alcoholic drinks. We would ordinarily have two or three drinks each with a three course meal but at almost £9 for a medium 175ml glass of Pinot Grigio (which they call "large" on their menu), we decided to just have one drink each with a main course then move to a different establishment for dessert and another drink. It's a shame. There is absolutely no need to price their drinks so highly. It put us off for sure. We are unlikely to return because of this. The prices on the drinks menu on the Google page is outdated. Just a warning to those who enjoy a couple of drinks with their food.

Management should really consider hiring a new hostess. I had a very bad experience here. Came with a friend and we sat in the larger sofa area because we were expecting one more person. When our other friend came, the hostess with long braids walked up to me & raised her voice in front of other guests at the bar saying “Do you know that it’s illegal for you to overstep my boundary and bring in any guests without my approval first?! Who do you think you are” I said “this is the other guest we’ve been expecting” and she said that the place was too crowded and it was already last call. I looked around and said “there are many open tables available, nobody else has even walked in since we got here, and our server told us already that last call wasn’t for another 40 more minutes” She continued to have an attitude with me saying that extra guests are not welcome unless she approves first, and that I am not welcome back to Thyme again, all while in front of other customers. That is no way to speak to a patron. Also, for the remainder of our time there, no other guests walked in taking up any of the seats or tables, and the bar sure enough kept taking drink orders for another 40 minutes. Management, please consider either training your hostess, or hiring someone who has experience in hospitality and how to speak to customers.

Miserable staff, very dirty. The drink sauces located above dishwasher for some reason and drinks taste horrible. Not the best Nero has to offer. Head to any other coffee place in Banbury, best thing you can do.

I've been here a few times, becsuse it is in a perfectly quiet location, facing the afternoon sun, with outside seating and the lovely Oxford Canal, only a foot step away (literally !) I like the thin bone china tea cups as it always tastes better from those; I like the position-A location and the proximity to the town centre, yet in a tucked away spot. I've only given it a 2* rating because of the following; ONLY doing a vegan menu, might be your political/personal choice, but it makes no business sense, nor is it very helpful to the public and families. Not even a vegitarian option, is extremely niche and short sited to 95% of your potential customer base. Admirable morally, but silly, from a public cafe, point of view. The prices are very high. Well, I can cope with that, if the service was tip-top, but it is only below average really. Although the menu only has about 5-6 main-course options (little enough), you'll be lucky, if 2-3 of them, are available AND they really don't seem to care. The most popular item BY FAR, is their home-made soup, so if they had any sense at all, they'd have plenty of it PLUS back-up. This is their lead item. Kitchen closes at 3pm, soup has run out st 12pm ! Come on, get a grip. If something is popular and gives you a good income, then MAKE MORE OF IT ! This is very basic business theory, not rocket science. No wonder so many places go down the pan......they are clueless. You exist, to make money, make a profit, make a living, even though you hark on about your "southern hemisphere travels" and working in "all the best cafe's", all that is irrelevant, to your bottom-line. All the cheap plastic/aluminium chairs and tables, don't add anything to your ethos ! How about some nice Lloyd Looms ? Not expensive, but eco friendly and look great. Nice staff uniforms ? A menu that isn't torn up crumpled paper with staines on it. Damn, you guys could be SO much better. Sorry.
