Caffe Nero in Cherwell

Miserable staff, very dirty. The drink sauces located above dishwasher for some reason and drinks taste horrible. Not the best Nero has to offer. Head to any other coffee place in Banbury, best thing you can do.

Early morning disappointing order I don’t recommend Coffee tasted burn and pastries were raw in the middle… not good at all

The toilets were absolutely disgusting . The whole place needs a refurbishment and a deep clean. It’s put me off ever going back

Looked very scruffy and run down- tables not cleared or wiped down- I asked for a knife to cut my cake- it was dirty and the saucer I was given was visibly very dirty- when I complained I was told there was a problem with their dishwasher- not sure that excuses such a poor standard of hygiene- won’t be going back-

The staff were OK.Was given a knife and fork for my sandwich which were dirty so I asked for some more which were also dirty so used my fingers. Floors looked grubby .Toilet floor was soaking wet and there was no toilet paper. The cleaning rota on the door indicated that it hadn’t been cleaned for 6 days and it certainly looked like it

Really bad customer service. Firstly didn't listen to what I wanted and put lots of cream on when I asked for no cream. Then when they gave me the cup it spilt loads in the saucer and they didn't do anything. No smiling. They threw napkins at me. Looking miserable. I asked for a new saucer and they nearly threw that at me too. Totally unimpressed.

Awful rude staff asked for a glass for my drink told to go and get one would not bring one to me when I went no glasses there, said there was none she still did not give me one

We were here a few days ago and bought a couple of coffees ....I think around £7. A pair of cops walked in and got free coffee before being caught doing so by a/member of the public they started lying about receiving free coffee as its against their rules. Totally weird experience and I’ll not go back to somewhere that gives free coffee to some and charges others because of their job!

Very very slow. Trainee barista serving a long line of waiting customers whilst more experienced member of staff doing an online order of at least 3 coffees. Very understaffed. If you’re going to do online orders as well please have the staff to do it. The queue was 10 long at 9am.. I waited 20 mins for a regular latte- got charged for a large but couldn’t be bothered to quibble over it. It was too foamy as well. Very poor experience.

Came here Easter morning. The cashier girl was too busy with her boyfriend, so havent put any syrups in my drink, but charged me, I asked a bit milk, and she nearly made me a latte, no stick to shake the drink, obviosly no hello no goodbye. Very bad service, ooops, no service

Have been using Cafe Neros in Banbury now for several years .... generally the staff are a very friendly, helpful bunch but sadly the recent addition of the short blonde haired girl has spoilt all that ... quite frankly her attitude and manner stinks . I realise that we are all in a difficult position in these times but seriously, if your not enjoying the job ... leave ... simple as .... I for one will not miss your ' surly ' attitude !

Please hire a Greek barista to show you how to make proper cold coffee. The coffee is getting worse.

This venue needs a deep clean - filthy dirty and shabby. The toilets are especially disgusting. Hot tap in unisex toilet doesn't work. Staff do not seem to be engaged or pleasant at all - attitude seems to be that everything is too much trouble. Whole place needs a good shake-up. From other reviews, standards have declined drastically - what's happened

My go to café, friendly staff, highly recommend the white hot chocolate mocha, great place for a sit down and catch up with friends

I used to enjoy coffee breaks here, but I have become more and more aware of the lack of cleanliness. What's happened? I suspect not enough staff at peak times. I don't want to sit at a sit a table littered with someone else's cups. The Baristas are always pleasant, the coffee and food is good and dependable, so why spoil it by penny pinching on the hygiene? Time to up your game.

Really If you're in a business that relies on repeat business get your staff to slime once in a while No excuse if you're busy

Great coffee, quite comfortable and good location, however the toilets a disgrace, no hot water least of the issues. Impossible for the staff to keep clean I would imagine. Cafe Nero management should be ashamed.

Average at best although better than in the past. If you want a coffee not on the menu you have to know how to make it. 😊

If you can wait in the queue that is normally found you will be rewarded with a good coffee. Hot chocolate is the best of the three major coffee suppliers. Range of snacks are excellent

I went to the Banbury Cafe Nero with my Husband today and due to my illness was in my wheelchair - unfortunately the door to the cafe where the is too narrow to fit the wheelchair through, on the other side of the cafe is a much larger door however there are two steps up to it. I am lucky in that i was able to use my stick to get in the door however for other people this may not be an option. If there was another option this wasnt made clear.

The coffee is average, the staff does not do any effort, probably too tired because they are few. One of the worse Nero I have tried with the regular high prices.You ask for a coffee they do not have on the menu they do not make any effort to understand what you want etc

Always seems to be a queue here and easier to pop over to Costa!! Otherwise - good coffee - all the usual Cafe Nero range. Music was a little loo loud though!!

Good drink and food but staff look fed up, unwelcoming and it's very noisy and dirty, especially the toilets. They mark the toilet checks off ahead of time too.

I cant judge the coffee because the service was so bad, the coffee nothing like I asked and did not even want to listen what I expected.

We are back in Banbury for few days and we visiting all old places where we just to eat and drink for many years ago. About Nero nothing new to say as always good coffee and nice small collection of pastries

What has happened. Staff unfriendly and no welcome or thank you. Served by someone who has lost his smile! Rubbish on floor and generally grubby! Toilets needed cleaning and a general refurbish. Panini however was tasty and good coffee.

Coffee to the same standard as most Nero ie very good

In this very busy coffee shop we were astounded to meet a very pretty young woman with lovely purple hair. She was bright, friendly nd OMG so so efficient. She chatted served with such ease it was amazing to watch. A rarity in todays society.

Used to meet my old friend here for coffee. Never enough people on the tills and it takes a long time to get served. The decor is dated and scruffy and could do with a makeover. The toilet is grim and smells bad.

La mayoría son razonablemente bien Caffe Neros y yo usamos dos o tres veces al mes. Decidí probar el ramal banbury en una semana por la mañana. Estaba bastante lleno y un poco caótica con niños corriendo alrededor. El personal no es particularmente amable y me di cuenta de pequeño esfuerzo se hicieron mesas clara y limpia y no estaba tan ocupado como para justificar eso. Me sirve un buen café, pero me di cuenta de los cruasanes estaban un poco quemado y había sido objeto de dumping boca abajo en la bandeja. Tuve un croissant de almendras que era más seco horneados y. Más de esfuerzo necesario con la limpieza y el servicio.

I love their coffee but food quite expensive. Service usually very pleasant and sweet. Always back there for nice cuppa :))

El personal es realmente grosero - Sábado tarde/chica de pelo rubio creo que era polaco. En efecto, altas muy grosero en apariencia petite. £2,70 p cobraron tres cafés, pero nos distancia de la casa de sus amigos hombres que me enteré más tarde trabajó en Banbury en kebab shop - gratis café gratis kebab.

Have been in my favorite Oxford again this year, and saw this cafe from the street, fabulous location, and great personal: fast and friendly, even posing together on photos. Brilliant atmosphere fantastic cakes and best hot chocolate I have had! Will definitely be returning time and time again!

This was a welcome break from the weather!We enjoyed 2 wonderful coffees and cake recently. The staff, even though one was training, were helpful and efficient. Seating was comfortable too although tables could have done with being cleared and wiped quicker than they were.

The Cafe is situated in a nice location in Banbury right next to the Castle Quay mall and near parking (all paid parking). The drinks are typical Cafe Nero drinks, nothing special, but it meets the Cafe Nero standard you come to expect.

Title says it all. Nothing outstanding nothing bad, but not inexpensive. Ok. Would not go out of my way to visit as such.

I have been in this place every morning having my breakfast. I got twice dry croissant. Second time l even didn't ask for anything else so disappointed. ( I didn't get my money back)

The staff here make this a particularly good place to come and relax. They are always courteous. The coffee is very good as is the cake selection. A nice place to chill out. The corporate brand could help themselves by employing more staff in busy periods so that the tables can be cleared quicker. Authentic Italian Caffes clear up immediately the space is vacated.If they could crack this, they would be excellent.

In any Nero you get people sitting on their own using the free Wi Fi. If there are more than a certain number its a bit like an office and loses some of its bustle but overall a useful meeting place and good quality croissants and cake. The type of coffee is not quite to my liking - a bit strong, but overall the experience is good.

When writing about Caffe Nero, the first thing that comes to mind, is of course the great coffee, and pastries.. I also love sitting outside, and people watch.. My hubby & I go there all the time..

We have used Caffe Nero quite regular but feel it has gone downhill of late. We had to take drinks back twice as they were made wrong but fair enough they were changed in the end. We have had to take drinks back with cream, as the cream was off which isn't that appetizing!! The toilets leave a lot to be desired as well. I think a ladies and gents should be separate!! Please get it sorted and we may be back again!!

This establishment, in my opinion, offers the best coffee in Banbury.A pleasant setting, with friendly staff. The cafe is quite large and there is seating outside too.They also offer a loyalty card, in which you can earn a free coffee after so many purchases.The one problem with this place is that it often very busy (which obviously isn't their fault) - meaning you have to queue for some time - and then struggle to find a seat.Well worth a visit during quiet times.

Busy coffee shop , slow service if you want a quick take away coffee otherwise reasonable. Staff try and be friendly and offer good customer service but the number of customers / length of queue makes it impossible. Our table was dirty and we had to clear it ourselves. Coffee and hot chocolates were nice , not exceptional and price is what I expected . Have used this a few times to meet friends . Is what you expect from a chain run coffee shop . There are a few locally owned cafe's offering better service and food.

We came here in between shopping to escape the cold in the streets. This is a popular coffee and cake spot and the cafe was 80% full around lunchtime. Staff are fast and friendly and the hot mocha and strawberry shortcake that I ordered help me through the afternoon.A fantastic place to catch up with friends!
