A real Italian with the accompanying menu card. Everything original like in Bella Italia. The Italian service also makes everything perfect. We felt like we were on vacation for a short time.

We went to Pizza Calzone last night for a birthday meal with my two teenage kids and partner. The meal was terrific with the pizza and calzones both enormous and tasty. The restaurant definitely lives up to its name! Service was good, with very friendly and attentive, but not in your face, waiting staff. For pizza in Banbury, you won't be disappointed

We had a lovely evening dining here last night. The restaurant was absolutely full, but the service remained fantastic—attentive, friendly, and efficient throughout. The food was delicious from start to finish. We shared the bruschetta to start, followed by a pizza each, and finished with a tiramisu that was beautifully light and fresh. The atmosphere was lively, which added to the buzz, but it did get quite loud at times—especially when the birthday songs came on (several times during the evening!). It’s lovely to see people celebrating, though the music might benefit from being a touch shorter. We did find it on the pricier side, but overall, it was a really enjoyable experience with great service and tasty food.

Vile people. A person who is well respected and given knighthood by the king has also reported to us that he was treated very badly by the staff here yesterday.

Absolutely ridiculous service . I went into the restraunt and told us to sit anywhere we like . We sat down then they told us to move to a different table . When asked why they said it’s the boss’s table which is not available to anyone . Which makes me think why is it in the restraunt then . I then sat somehwere else and saw a rat near the food area so we had to walk out as cannot eat from a place with no hygiene and standards .

The staff always make an effort to make every visit a wonderful experience. They are fab with families, and help make space for me in my wheelchair. Super friendly, excellent food.

Very delicious food, nice atmosphere. Everything was amazing. From the first minute in this restaurant you feel like in Italy. The staff is really nice and they are always helpful and take care of you to ensure that your visit is good. The service is always on the highest level. Every time we are there everything is perfect and there are no negative experiences. It's definitely worth visiting.

The food here was amazing but for me the customer service here was top notch and for that reason I would give it 10/10 and would recommend to anyone! We got, lasagna and pasta dish and it was very nice. I’m not from the area but if you are looking for a place to eat in Banbury you must visit here! Also got a free treat :)

BEST ITALIAN DINNER PLACE! The food is fresh and very close to the food we tasted in Venice. The owner is so accommodating, even on a busy Saturday night, he made space for a party of 5 willingly.

Had a great large family meal out (8 of us) here a month back or so. Great tasty food, (very) generous portions and warm and welcoming staff. Fun atmosphere and decor, nothing to fault even slightly. On first glance you might think prices fairly high but that's because portions are so big that you can share quite a bit!

For International Women’s Day, my husband arranged a surprise lunch at our favorite Italian restaurant, and it was truly unforgettable. The atmosphere was magical — intimate yet lively, creating the perfect setting for a celebration. The staff was nothing short of professional, accommodating, and incredibly friendly, making us feel right at home. As always, the food was out of this world. The ingredients were fresh, and each dish was crafted with perfect balance. Everything looked like it came straight out of a magazine, and the flavors were equally exceptional. We started with the Insalata Caprese, featuring fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, and olives that burst with flavor — a simple yet deliciously refreshing dish. For the mains, we indulged in the Pizza Pollo Funghi, the traditional Lasagna di Carne della Casa, and the aromatic Ravioli al Funghi e Crema. Each dish was so amazing that we couldn’t stop eating — the flavors were rich and perfectly executed, making each bite a joy. To finish, we had the Homemade Panna Cotta, which was a creamy delight topped with fresh fruit. The smooth texture and sweet finish were the perfect end to our meal. Once again, our visit to this restaurant was amazing, and we are already looking forward to our next visit very soon. Thank you Calzone Team!!

Party of 5. We had a lovely meal here, everything cooked perfectly and served on time. Staff were attendant but pleasant. Not sure on the H&S aspect of the motorbike parked inside the door, no matter how cool it was.

We booked Pizza Calzone some months before for our Staff Party. The team at Pizza Calzone were nothing but excellent communicators from initial enquiry through to the meal itself. I do not have the words to explain how delicious the food was, there was 10 of us, every one of us was jealous of everyone else’s food. Quite possibly the best lasagna in the world. The service was excellent, despite some snappy comments when I chased up a couple of bits, such as some missing mushrooms, a delay in one of the desserts and the fact I had to ask for a coke 3 times. However, please don’t let this put you off, they were incredibly helpful throughout the evening and they were fully booked and very busy. I would recommend this restaurant above all others in Banbury.

The taste and value of the food was first class. The only issue we have is the price of alcoholic drinks. We would ordinarily have two or three drinks each with a three course meal but at almost £9 for a medium 175ml glass of Pinot Grigio (which they call "large" on their menu), we decided to just have one drink each with a main course then move to a different establishment for dessert and another drink. It's a shame. There is absolutely no need to price their drinks so highly. It put us off for sure. We are unlikely to return because of this. The prices on the drinks menu on the Google page is outdated. Just a warning to those who enjoy a couple of drinks with their food.

Never ever dissapointed. Everything we've ever had is fresh and delicious. Portions are exceptional. I don't think we've ever left without taking atleast a quarter of the portion home with us for a midnight snack. Absolutely love coming for meals here. The staff are super attentive and quick not missing a single beat. Atmosphere is a bit busy and chaotic from time to time but my husband and I can still talk at a quiet level to eachother so more than happy with this! Quality food, good prices, great portions can't complain.

Our party of 4 had meal here. It was me and my fiancées first visit. Booking is essential as it gets busy. The staff were friendly and attentive and we didn't have to wait long for our food to arrive. It was hot,plentiful and delicious! We had 4 starters 4 mains and 6 drinks. The bill was a reasonable 143 pounds. Looking forward to our next meal here soon.Enjoy!

We were on vacation from Florida to visit some of our family in Banbury. It was my daughter’s birthday and she really wanted Italian food. The food, service and atmosphere were all exceptional! They went out of their way to make our daughter feel special as well! We will definitely visit again!!

This is our 2nd visit and they never disappointed us. Welcoming and efficient service. Very generous portion of food Highly recommend the paella. I tried the seafood paella last time and chicken paella this time. The paella was flavoured with rich turmeric and very aromatic. The ingredients tasted fresh without unnecessary additives.

Service was very very quick! Our food came very quickly and was all delicious! It was lovely and the servers were all very nice! Nice cosy atmosphere with music at just the right volume! Not too busy to begin with but filled up closer to 7pm! I'd definitely recommend!

Our favourite place to go to in Banbury! Came for our anniversary lunch. Food was piping hot, and big portions too! Boxed away our leftovers so we could eat later. Carbonara and Calzone is the best! We ordered a take away, which we collected and ate at home. My penne, king prawns was very disappointing. The sauce had no taste at all and all my king prawns were still partially shelled. Plenty of pasta but I didn’t come close to finishing it as it was tasteless food. My son ordered a fiorentina pizza, requesting extra mushrooms, which I heard him repeat twice. Extra mushrooms turned into extra mussels and fish. Very odd. Unfortunately won’t be reordering food from PC.

We stumbled across this culinary gem when visiting Banbury. Warm, efficient, well-trained staff and excellent classic Italian food. Something delightfully old-fashioned about the menu choices and the vibe. We came back the next night as we liked it so much. Was buzzing & full both times so clearly word has got round!

Me and family have been coming here for years. The food is in no doubt the best Italian food I have ever tasted. The most important thing about this place however is the customer service. We always have an amazing experience with Pizza Calzone and that's what we were looking for when we ordered takeaway for a birthday. Unfortunately, they had failed us this time... We ordered all vegetarian dishes and the mushroom starter had little to no seasoning. The burchettta was a little soggy but tasted good. The artichokes were not cooked and tasted very raw. The staff were very friendly like always and made sure the service was on time. Just disappointed with the food this time.

I been here couple of times and I tried different things from the menu. The food is good but in my opinion needs a little bit more seasoning, the pastas are very good just need to be more creamer. Pizzas very generous with toppings but the seasoning of tomato sauce is “plain”. Staff is very friendly, and the service is fast, a little bit price.
