The best restaurants serving Italian food in City of London, Westminster London

I had left it too late to book a table so I entered the restaurant last minute praying that they could find us a table for 5. We were lucky and were shown to what must’ve been the last available table as the place was filling fast - always a promising sign! The staff were amazing and the food was fabulous. I had my usual Italian dish of calves liver with sage which didn’t disappoint at all! So tasty! The Linguine Ai Frutti Di Mare was similarly superb and a taste of their tiramisu for dessert highlighted that the whole menu is clearly top notch and at a price that would put a smile on anyone’s face! We loved it and as it’s just a 5 min walk from my home it was an amazing surprise to find such a gem on my doorstep. This is traditional Italian family cuisine at its very best and the staff certainly made you feel part of that family. Veramente stupendo! I will definitely be back!

Honestly you pay too much for what you eat ! Watery and untested pasta dishes, not recommended you waste your money! Overcrowded and unpleasant stay!

Had matinee tickets booked at the Apollo Theatre so stopped at Bella Italia for pre-theatre lunch. We had no booking but were promptly shown to a table. I am a coeliac and the menu catered very well for a gluten free diet. The food was excellent as was the service. We would not hesitate to come back here pre or post theatre.

Ho cenato in questo posto durante il mio viaggio a Londra con la mia amica celiaca. La cucina italiana e gluten free non ha deluso le aspettative della clientela italiana. Abbiamo preso dei piatti di pasta fresca, ed era assolutamente tutto squisito. After initial confusion both on the website and on the phone as to whether Giovanni’s was open for lunch, or dinner, or indeed open at all, I succeeded in booking a birthday lunch for two. Arriving first, through a door quite literally hidden away from the busiest streets in London, I ordered a glass of champagne. I would not be having that, my host Count Ragona informed me, his is an Italian restaurant and I would drink Prosecco. And Prosecco I drank. I also shared an excellent Sicilian red, and a couple of grappas, it was a birthday after all. We ate swordfish ceviche and pasta casa nostra - actually carbonara but called such he told us to stop certain nations asking for it with cream. With two coffees and a cocktail the bill came to less than £400 but the entertainment was worth that alone. Evidence that everyone eats at Giovanni’s abounds, signed photos cover every inch of the walls. I was seated before two astronauts and all the members of Queen. And although her signed photo was missing, the other Queen, Her Late Majesty had also dined at Giovanni’s four times, and dear Diana had also been a friend. Indeed it is hard to imagine who might not be a friend of Count Ragona’s such is his vivacity. And to prove it, on mentioning that the birthday boy was a fan of Italian cycling, an Italian champion was summoned by phone to wish him buon compleanno! Quite unforgettable!!

Food quality was really good and our order was processed quite quickly. Disappointed to find extra items on our bill when paying, really left a sour taste. Check your bill before paying!

El servicio fue pésimo, peor imposible. Fui con mi familia, la comida no hay como describirla grasienta, de supermercado, el menú infantil, me lo cobraron y solo le trajeron al menor un plato, cuando deberian traer 3 y aun por encima no cobrarlo porque tienen una oferta y lo peor a la hora de pagar me cobraron la propina 2 veces. En resumidas cuentas nada recomendable, pésimo en trato y calidad y aún por encima caro, muy caro para lo que sirven. Id a cualquier sitio menos aquí Es local de Paddington Ahhhh!!!! Se me olvidaba y la limpieza, inexistente, vimos como limpiaban y no limpiaban...

Good service, great food, amazing atmosphere

My single scoop of ice cream was painstakingly weighed on scales behind the counter before it was served to me. Great flavours and quality at this location but this sucked all the enjoyment from my experience and value for money, this is not! How disappointing!

Reservamos una mesa en línea antes de llegar a Londres, llegamos al restaurante unos 40 minutos antes, pero dijeron que no era un problema. Nos mostraron a nuestra mesa por un miembro del personal muy acogedor y amable que poco después tomó nuestras bebidas y comida. Poco después de que nuestras comidas aparecieron y eran geniales los niños pizza era masiva si hubiéramos sabido que eran tan grandes que solo habríamos pedido 1 para compartir. Nuestras comidas también vale la pena una visita

The service was really bad, waiting 20 mins for a margarita to only find out they didn’t have the ingredients to make it, pre made an reservation to only be sat at a seat I front of the kitchen door. There really bad communication within the staff also got the wrong drink brought to me. The starter was nothing spectacular And the main lacked seasoning. Very bland. A disappointing experience for a mid week visit to a restaurant.
