Made booking but still had to wait for 10 mins to be seated. Food was so bad and bland as if the kitchen had no salt and other seasonings. Left with a full plate of pasta untouched !( the pasta tasted like pasta water only) Only the pizza was acceptable. Service was so slow all the waiters were busy. Went there for my sister’s birthday celebration but this experience upsets us.

I generally love the food at Zizzi however this specific branch let me down. The system they have for customers entering and waiting is terrible. We were informed that it will be a 20 minute wait , and so were the other customers who were waiting for a table however it took longer than that ; roughly 40 minutes. There were tables free but no one was sat down. Someone walked in , i assume it was a friend of the worker , and he was sat down instantly although he had no booking and there were a lot of people waiting. On top of this, when they came to sit down one of the waiting customers , Eventhough we were next in the que , he called the customers that came after us. They were confused and so were we and when we confronted him , he didnt even apologise. Terrible terrible service!

I’m fully convinced this is one of the worst brunches in London, I could say I’ve been to most of the Zizzi’s in London and this one is far the worst one. They don’t care about the customers at all and they all look so miserable to be there. We arrived at the restaurant and waited 10mins to be seated, this would be understandable if the place was busy, we were stood by the entrance, couple of the staff members walked past us pretending they can’t see us, finally one of the manager acknowledged us, we asked to sit outside, he handed us the menus and said go for it. After 20/25mins of sitting outside I had to go inside and ask to order as they seemed to forgot about us. The manager said omg i’m so sorry give me one second i will come outside, which took another 10mins. We received our food literally 3 mins after ordering which shows the food quality and that it’s clearly microwaved. No one came to check up on us and ask how the food was. The plates were never cleared. We also wanted to have desserts but gave up at this point. Once again I had to go inside to ask for the bill, the manager said it’s gonna be delivered to the table which took another 10mins, when we were paying i asked him for a takeaway box as we wanted to leave that place asap. We waited and waited and never received the box. Went inside once again, he said he forgot about it and told me to wait. As someone who has worked in the hospitality sector for many years this service is really disappointing and I will be never coming back again. It was meant to be " a quick lunch" which took about 2 hours of my time.

Went here for dinner after seeing Frozen. The food was very good and the atmosphere. Ask for upstairs seating, we were seated downstairs, there was no atmosphere & we could smell the toilets, so we moved upstairs.

Really nice branch in terms of the ballerina theme continuing from the Royal opera House next door. It can get busy however there are 2 floors. The food is really good especially the set menu. The staff are very accommodating and helpful.

No greeting when we came in and waitress strolled towards us. All staff spoke very quietly and didn't seem like they wanted to be there or cared that we were paying for this food and service. When we were seated we had to wait around 15 minutes for someone to come and take our order as we were not informed about the QR ordering system which once again shows a lack of communication from staff, which really shouldn't be difficult. Our starters then arrived before our drinks. Staff didn't come to check back and ask how our food was. I was also not given fresh cutlery after my starter or a pizza cutter, food was fine it wasn't great but the service is what has disappointed me most. It was a struggle to get their attention, once again due to the fact they all seemed so disinterested in actually interacting with customers. Most disappointing was the tiramisu desert which arrived frozen, the waitress didn't care just took it back to the kitchen and the kitchen and wait staff then proceded to stare at us and whisper about us. Although these were taken off the bill our bill did still come with a service charge attached which we declined. As someone who has worked in the restaurant and bar sector for many years I very rarely don't leave a tip but sadly the staff in this zizzi do not deserve to be paid extra for doing a less than adequate job. The lack of service and physical presentation of some staff does not fill me with confidence for the general cleanliness of this branch. The manager was wearing cargo trackpants and an ill-fitting white polo.

The food was very disappointing. The salad was expensive and quality was poor. Salad was old and yellow and the tomatoes where soft and old, I expected the manager to apologise after the complaint and did not make the effort. I left without having a meal as I was completely put off. Considering the amount of restaurants in the area, I would certainly recommend going elsewhere for quality and value for money, it ruined our valentines meal, I can with certainty will not be going there again, Be warned!!!!

Really great service, nice location, staff very flexible with our seating request. Great spicy chicken wings, v hot chilli garlic bread and a decent chicken Caesar salad. Slightly disconcerted to walk into a staff appraisal being conducted in the basement near the toilets………that cannot have been great for the member of staff involved. Maybe Regional Managers should use other offices for this type of meeting, because it is important and rather confidential to be discussing a person’s performance in earshot of customers.

Very poor service, they weren't able to fulfill the kids menu and despite offering an alternative it never arrived. Served ice cream without a spoon, said they would be back with one it never appeared leaving the little one to eat ice cream with a spare fork. Forced service charge. I would've been happy to leave a service charge. However, they make you use their website to pay, and when you get through to payment, there's NO option to refuse giving service charge. Forced service charges should not exist. Very bad behaviour, especially for tourists visiting. Lukewarm food, small portions.

What a disappointment! Have been to other Zizzi restaurants and have had lovely meals with great staff. However this was not the case in Zizzi Bow street, we ordered our meals starters and mains, instead of coming out in order the mains arrived first ,followed by the starters mediocre food not very hot. As soon as our food came one of the staff started to sweep up around us…not very hygienic, then they opened the back doors so they could bring in the outside furniture , it was freezing cold outside so we quickly became very cold. The Staff apart from the chefs had their coats on, what should have been a special evening for my granddaughter was ruined by the experience and the staffs attitude ,will definitely not be going

The service was far from being the best (or even acceptable). The staff were chatting, throwing "pasta chips" at people at another table. They knew the people as they would stop at the table, bring them food or drinks and take a bite on their way. The food is not good, and extremely overpriced. We were sick after eating, with very bad stomachache. The pizza was sad and tasteless. The carbonara was an insult to the Italian cuisine.

Didn't book, just a walk-in. My wife and I had a rare night out in London's West End and ended the evening with a meal. We chose Zizzi because we visit their Bexleyheath site often and are familiar with their menu and enjoy the food. Not on this occasion. We were seated without any issues. I had what could only be described as an isle seat as my wife was seated opposite me on the cushioned bench style seats. How often was my chair nudged or knocked as staff, no less walked past me? The first time, I was hit as one of the team walked past carrying empty bottles casually in one hand with a bar tray in the other. He did apologise. Apology accepted. There after, a steady flow of knocks and nudges continued. I even moved my coat and put it on the bench to allow for more room. It didn't make a difference. Our order was taken for drinks, no problem there and soon it arrived delivered by someone who should've used some deodorant. Shortly afterwards our food order was taken. One large calamari starter to share, (5p short of £15). One pepperoni, ham, and mushroom rustic pizza and one prawn pasta. Calamari is my favourite. Unfortunately, this portion had no flavour. It came with one small pot of tartar sauce, the same size as if it were a small portion and one piece of dried out lime wedge. Okay, I'll live with that as calamari is what I like. Pasta was nice as usual. But I needed parmigiano, so we asked for some. A waiter with his shirt hanging out, untucked, promptly came around, leaned over me, grated some cheese onto my wife's pasta, and added his shirt to my pizza! I had to hold his shirt back off my pizza as he continued to grate. He seemed to notice but didn't apologise. As we were eating, I had to double-check my pizza as I couldn't taste any pepperoni. It was there, but after one slice of pizza, I counted only 8 small slices of pepperoni, so I probably had only 10 or so bits at the most. We checked online to pay our bill and realised that they automatically add 10% service charge , and if you pay online, you can't remove it. I checked the menu and couldn't find anything that said it's even added. We promptly asked for the bill, and low and behold, the service charge was on there as an option. I asked the waitress to round up my bill without the service charge to the nearest pound. She said she had to charge what was on the bill with the service charge. I literally had to tell her that I didn't want to leave a tip! She had to fiddle about with her e-pad and give us a new total. And that was that. Anyone reading this that thinks I am stingy, they are wrong. I would happily add a service, but not once did any of the plentiful staff and management on duty do a checkback or ask at any point how our meal or visit was. Anyone in the industry will know what I'm talking about and how important it is. A cheerful last ditch thank you as we were leaving was the highlight of hospitality shown. Finally, the toilets are still a mess, as reviews suggest. No surprise there!

Booked Zizzi Bow Street for a family 7pm visit on New Years Eve. We were presented with a set menu for €49.95 each without any prior warning. There was NO other menu. This consisted of a starter(garlic bread or bruschetta etc), a main(pizza or pasta) and a dessert. This menu would usually cost circa €30 in Zizzi but they chose to use sharp practice deliver a bad value offering at 7pm on NYE. I am a regular but I won’t be returning as this is poor customer service and value.

My daughter and I had lunch here and it was wonderful. My daughter had lasagne which she really enjoyed. I had the seabass which was absolutely delicious, I would most definitely have it again, it was one of the nicest meals I've eaten. The staff were all very polite and attentive. The food - They have a great menu, few vegan options and an allergen menu, I really liked that about the place! Their food was good to look at and good to taste, the portions of the starter could have been better, but the taste was good! So happy about that. Half-and-half pizza - it was slightly burnt, and when asked about pizza toppings were informed that chilli flakes cost extra, and they don't do Italian herbs for the pizza. Rainbow Lasagna - it looked good, tasted good. Sweet Potato Fries - good quality. The service - We booked a table in advance, and the person who took our reservation was very nice over call, however, they did not reserve a table as requested and we were given a table next to the toilets, which was quite disappointing, given that we booked in advance. The price - for the ambiance, and the taste of the food, it's a decent price to pay! 💷20-30pp

We were ignored for drinks, waiting staff were not interested at all, it’s was as if the customers were an inconvenience- we asked to order food and our drinks, the meal arrived and still no drinks - staff so miserable and put a dampener on the lunch, no check back on food and we had to ask for the dessert menu and the bill. Avoid, we were then told they needed table after spending 45 mins there and spending £90 - plus 10% tip auto added.

Absolutely disgusted with our visit to this branch today. Midway through our meal, we were abruptly told by a staff member Jenny that they needed the table back. Our bill was shoved at us, the bill had items that we had not even received yet (desserts) My 2 year old daughter hadn't even finished her main! Jenny literally took the food out of my daughters hand while she was still eating. The way you run your business is disgusting and your staff are appalling rude. It was the most distressing meal out we have ever experienced and it ruined our fun family day out, as my daughter was so upset about her pizza. I will never eat in your restaurant ever again, your staff are disgusting bully's.

After waiting for 30 minutes, a gentlemen walked in and definitely was a friend of the manager. They hugged and shook hands and the manager told him to come sit down. The gentlemen looked at us with embarrassment and then proceeded to skip the queue and sit down. The way the manager greeted the customers entering was awful. He told everyone that came in ‘20 mins.. 20 mins..’ however that definitely was not the case. He clearly chose who he wanted and was awful at keeping track of who came when. Very unhappy with the service and the male manager with the long hair!

The so called manager was very rude. We popped by for some dinner and was told by him ‘20minutes’ after waiting for 40 minutes. I asked him again and he said you have to wait I can’t kick people out. After 50 minutes waiting, he came back and asked the people who came in way after us to follow him as there was seating available now. We was confused?! Not only was we there before them he had totally ignored a us. Thankfully the kind guests actually did say we were there before and it was definitely our turn. We told them thank you and to go ahead and take the seats. We left after that. I tend to give good reviews on a regular but this place not only left us standing for 50 minutes but actually confused and lost track of who came in first. The manager in the photo below with the long hair was rude. This is definitely not the standards Zizzi represents.

A very busy eatery and I felt that they wanted you in eat up and go. The food was alright and the lad who served us was good but we had to wait at the entrance for ages being ignored by other staff until we were finally seated. The toilets are another problem being down really steep stairs and through another seating area. I did see a disabled toilet near the baby changing area but that toilet seemed to be being used by the staff. I would probably go back if I couldn't get into anywhere else in the area.

Arrived and waited while 4 members of staff had a chat. Seated and orders taken. Meal arrived before drinks order of water and a Peroni 0. Food fine, plates taken no mention of dessert, which my husband always has. The manager came and removed a chair my husbands coat was on with no “excuse me sir could I ask you to remove your coat as this chair is needed” just I need this chair and placed the coat on his lap. 20 minutes after plates removed still no one asked if we wanted a dessert!!! Toilets were a total mess😫

Went here yesterday around 2pm and waited for 30mins. I know we didn’t have a reservation but they kept prioritizing people with children who just came after us (no reservations) even tho we are the first in line and there is only 2 of us. Eventually he sat out 3 groups when I think one of his coworkers saw that he just kept us waiting. Food is mediocre and hostess didn’t seem to ask us anything about food and just 2 seconds after I finished my food, someone just grabbed my plate off the table and didn’t say anything. Just horrible experience really.

There was three of us when we came in we were sat down and then it seems completely forgotten about until we finally managed to get started. The starters were lovely and that’s probably as good as the experience got. Of three main courses ordered none were really worth it, the risotto tasted purely of parsley, the 5 cheese pasta had what seemed to be no cheese and was instead a cream garlic sauce - nice but not what was advertised, and the chicken Milanese potentially a misorder on our part but was basically just a larger kids meal. When we placed the main course orders one was taken incorrectly (the 5 cheese pasta) which meant one of us was sat awkwardly waiting, this is also potentially why it was seemingly lacking the cheese if it was cooked in a rush, and following that the service was genuinely shocking. Apart from one lovely girl who spotted that we were sat awkwardly and helped we weren’t really seen at all other than a waitress appearing to clear plates, leaving behind someone else’s dirty glass and never saying a word to us and and someone who came to take our order but looked like he wanted to be anywhere else (and then got the order wrong). We then had the sharing desert which was also very disappointing, the waffles were cold, hard and seemed like a toaster one you could get from Tesco that they’d forgotten to warm and the warm sauces for dunking were maybe at best lukewarm. We did complain and the risotto was taken off as hardly any had been eaten but that was it. We weren’t expecting a free meal but some acknowledgement from a manager after they had been told would at least of been appreciated.

Well food was ok (I am a big fan of Zizzi by the way) however I am not coming back to this one as the service is not great. The waiters are in a rush. Our table was in the basement next to the door, where people keep coming to use the toilets (some of them even asked us where they are??). The toilets - disgusting, I have seen publuc toilets cleaner than that. They were just horrible. I know this is not the most important thing in a restaurant but it does ruin the experience. You should take care of the issue. The kitchen closes at 9.00 which is not very helpful either. I do not recommend.

If you like reheated Italian food, red wine served at 26 degrees celcius, warm beer glasses, high techno music and staff more occupied hanging around the bar talking amoung them self, well then this is the place for you. We ordered 3 main pasta course and received them within 4 minutes (I am not kidding) and there is no question that all 3 were reheated and not made fresh or were they good, we did not finished our plates as the pasta was rubbery with a bland tast. The red wine had obviously not been stored in a wine fridge and was way too warm, the beer was cold but the beer glass was warm (hot) straight out of dishwasher. We tried several times to get the staffs attention but they was more occupied standing behind the bar and talking with each other, turning up the techno music and dancing. When our meals were severed and I asked the waiter for a glass of red wine, she said that it was not her table and walked away. So, if this sounds like the place you would like, go ahead, for us, we will never be returning to Zizzi in a city with so many choices.

We popped in for lunchtime the food was nice however we had the half and half pig pizza. It came with crackling on it which was a fantastic idea but unfortunately was not crackling like at all and was more like rubbery crackling which was a great shame it also came with hot honey on top which was lovely however there was an over kill on the honey and actually ended up tasting like a pudding pizza. The base however was lovely and the starter was nice. We used to love zizzi's when it was local to us however a little bit of a shame about food and staff. The staff seemed friendly initially however when we finished our main courses there was an extreme amount of pressure to get pubbing we agreed to see the menu the waitress then proceeded to say even if you just order ice cream that would be good. This wasn't the correct way to approach things and actually left us feeling uncomfortable. I had also proceeded to watch this waitress do this to a gentlemen who sat opposite us. You could clearly see he was uncomfortable by the way she was speaking to him she proceeded to be quite forceful when he said no thank you. He then got up and handed the menu to a different waiter and said I will have the bill please. She then proceeded to go back over to him and said oh you're not ordering ice cream then. If you make people feel uncomfortable they don't come back. This unfortunately ruined the experience for use it's not the correct way to go about things. Pushing and almost forcing people to order things makes them feel extremely uncomfortable. No thank you very much should be enough of an answer.

It's a two different halves pizza and it was really tasty, you can tell it's fresh ingredients and with good quality! 🏠 The restaurant is really cosy, and really well decorated.

My visit to Zizzi Bow Street didn't quite meet my high expectations. The Sicilian lemonade I tried was rather ordinary, lacking the refreshing burst of flavors I had hoped for. I told them I was outside & rang them after waiting 15 minutes. Ordered chicken Milanese which arrived after 4 minutes clearly from a microwave. No spinach & heritage carrots like concrete. The chicken was awful. After another long wait staff member took it away. I waited another 15 minutes & walked off. The service was dire & I’ve never walked off before. As I’m staying nearby I’ll probably go back & pay. This branch is disorganised & the food is sub standard.
