Went with two young grandchildren having booked to take advantage of kids eat free. Shown to our table and all seemed well. The restaurant was filling up and reasonably busy for a Wednesday lunchtime but it took an age to get menus and then longer to order our meal. The food came relatively quickly and to be fair was very nice. Having eaten our main course we wanted to order a dessert and the waiter did not come to us. Had to Go and find him and it still took a ridiculous amount of time for the order to be taken. Again the food was ok but you can’t mess up ice cream. Having said that ours were vanilla ice cream with a splodge of whipped cream and three tinned strawberries. I spoke to the waiter, the only one showing people to tables, getting drinks, taking orders serving meals and clearing away. He stated that he was on his own due to staff sickness. However Prezzo, if you are going to offer free kids meals you must understand that kids are not patient when it comes to waiting for food so you need to plan better. This is the second time we have been here and the second time staff shortages have ruined the experience. We were in there two hours for a two course meal.

We booked the day before Father’s Day and we were pleasantly surprised that they could accommodate us, albeit at 12:00 in the afternoon. When we arrived the restaurant was practically empty but by the time we left it was a different story. Which I believed hindered our service as our meal went on. A friendly lady seated us and gave us our menus. A few machines later we ordered and the starters were served quickly and everybody was happy with the food. No complaints so far. We waited a good 20 minutes and our plates still weren’t cleared, so we stacked our plates at the end of the table to indicate that they were finished. Once our table was cleared, we waited for another 30 minutes until our mains were served - there was a large table next to us who were complaining about the wait for their food. Our main meals came out in dribs and drabs, mine was the last to come out and I was mightily disappointed, it was very watery and lacked any kind of seasoning. The rest of our party were also disappointed by the lack of flavour and taste of the food. We ordered desserts as we wanted to treat ourselves, we wish we didn’t bother. At £7-£8 for a dessert we were expecting much bigger portions and better presentation. Overall, a perfect location right on the main square with a nice seating area outside but we were let down by the food and speed of service. We won’t be hurrying back!

This is a mid-range restaurant. The food quality is good, as is the quantitiy. The service was a tad stretched this time, with all customers being hearded to one side, which spoiled the atmosphere a tad. It is a bit expensive - 2 hamburgers with chips, and 2 teas, came to over £40.

Really delicious food, which tasted really fresh. Our waitress Natalie was so so lovely. Really happy, full of smiles and couldn’t do enough for us (including making our desserts!!) she made our afternoon so much better. Thank you Natalie. My little boy thought you were great and he loved the chocolate ice cream!!

Surprisingly very good, good enough in fact to leave this review...came here last year and had very different experience. Was greeted warmly and allowed to choose our preferred table, very comfy booth seating, also had our favourite white wine(new Zealand sauvingion blanc) had the garlic and caramelised onion with mozzarella for starter as a sharing portion, was handmade and spot on!,service was top notch and knowledgeable about food and wine, had the crab and lobster ravioli and lasagne for main and was hot and fresh and delicious... Couldn't fault it,very reasonable prices for the quality and service, would recommend and will come back again ,only down point was my dessert, baked orange cheesecake was grainy and dry and didn't come with the fresh orange segments as advertised ...all in all 9 out of ten and will be back, eell done team at Prezzo Hatfield!
